I have 2 tables (person / merit) currently the merti table has 4 fields (MeritID, PersonID, Issuer, Type) I'm trying to count the the Type field 7 times, once of each type (MC/MI/MN/MP/MS/MV) and once to count a grand total.
I want to produce a query to use in a mail merge that will list the total for each merit type and one grand total.
I've been trying a few different things including sub queries but I've not managed to get the query to produce a single record that counts each individual type.
I have reports that total the figures in a column and displays the total at the bottom of the column. I would like to display the total at the top of the column since the length of the column continues to grow and I would like to see that total before scrolling down to view the various individual entries.
No matter how I try the =count(x) always shows an error. Is it not possible to display the total figure at the top of a column instead of at the bottom?
I have a report where I have added a package type to my Query (STD or XL).I have currently included this in the report although I dont need to show it, however I do need to show at the bottom of my report how many rows are Type "STD" and How many are Type "XL"
I am wanting to display in a text box or on my report the total number or records in my database. Also I have some buttons that filter the results a little, I'm wanting to display the number after I hit the button(s). Would I just add the query to the end of each button I have?
I am using Access 2003 and trying to create a report that has a running balance of payments into an account. There are also payments out of the account which reduce the balance.
When I add the other columns into the expression for the running total the result shows in the report as "0".
The expression I am using is: =([Escrow Pmt Amount]-[Ins Pmt Amount])
I have this expression in the "Detail" section of the report with the "Running Total" toggled to "Accross Group".
How can I subtract the values in the other columns (Outgoing Payments) from the balance and continue the running total.
The list of payments within the report are date driven and grouped by an account number.
I have 4 fields I'm trying to combine, but I need to add spaces between field 1 and the rest of them. The total character count needs to be 22 including the spaces.
Example:
Field 1: THE
Field 2: 1234
Field 3: BOAT
Field 4: 0001
End Result: THE 1234BOAT0001
Need to add 7 spaces to equal 22 characters.
Fields 1, 2, and 3 can vary in number of characters.
NAME [NUMBER OF ITEMS] [PURCHASE DATE] Walmart 4 1/4/14 Walmart 2 1/5/14 Target 0 1/5/14 Lowes 3 1/5/14 Sears 1 1/5/14 Sears -1 (returned to store) 1/6/14
I want a DISTINCT COUNT of [NAME] if Total[NUMBER OF ITEMS]>0, so the correct number will be 2 in the example.
This is one way I've tried to write the SQL, but I keep getting an error...
SELECT Count([TBL-STORE].[NAME]) FROM [TBL-STORE] INNER JOIN [TBL-PURCHASES] ON [TBL-STORE].[NAME] = [TBL-PURCHASES].[NAME] WHERE ([TBL-PURCHASES].[NUMBER OF ITEMS]>1) HAVING ([TBL-STORE].[NAME])="DISTINCT");
I also tried an Count(IiF( and can't get that to work either..
I am trying to count how many of the "same" and "differences", as well as calculate the percentages of the number of "same" over the total amount. To clarify, I work at a nursing home, and I need to calculate the number of people who were admitted to our facility and then to the hospital for the same diagnosis, and a different diagnosis. Then, out of the total number of people who were admitted to the hospital from our facility, I need to calculate how many of those people had the same diagnosis or a different diagnosis.
Also, I need to categorize these diagnosis by each type of diagnosis.
I need to count records based on multiple criteria from two different tables. I have two tables (i.e. "tblTasks" and "tblTaskHistory"). The tables have a one-to-many relationship based on the "TaskID" field. "tblTasks" has a field called "AssignedTo" and "tblTaskHistory" has a field called "TaskStatus". I need to know how many tasks have been "reopened", the "reopened" status is located in the "TaskStatus" field in "tblTaskHistory". I need this count against a unique listing of employees which can be found in the "AssignedTo" field in "tblTasks".
I am looking for a way to get a progressive cumulative total from daily entries on Odometer records from multiple vehicles. (My current SQL query is not working) I will eventually run a report from these between two dates. I found the thread here, but am unsure of how to implement this - if this is indeed what I need in lieu of my current code..?

My current problem is that, not all my previous entries are correct; Im not sure what is happening to the numbers about halfway through...
For clarification, here is my current code and an example of what is needed. The issue is highlighted in yellow. Excel shows the correct calculation
Code: SELECT qry_ODO_Table.ID AS OdomAlias, qry_ODO_Table.ODate, qry_ODO_Table.VehicleNum, Nz(DFirst("Odometer","qry_ODO_Table"),0) AS StartOD, Nz(DLast("Odometer","qry_ODO_Table","[ID] < " & [OdomAlias]),0) AS Previous, qry_ODO_Table.Odometer, [Odometer]-[Previous] AS Difference FROM qry_ODO_Table ORDER BY qry_ODO_Table.ID;
Picture datatype is Attachment and it is multi-valued field so I created a query to extract picture per ProjectID and to be used as a Subreport. Query results shown below:
Now, I have created the sub report and linked it Project table. Result is the pictures add up vertically or downward where there is a big space on the right side, I want to have it from left to right or horizontally.
It consists of a running total per vehiclenum. All data comes from one table.
It works properly only on the first vehiclenum of the query. After that, the first "previous" odometer reading of each subsequent vehiclenum starts at some erroneous number, throwing the remainder of each vehiclenum running total.
Here is the code for the query,
SELECT qry_ODO_TotalSub.ID AS OdomAlias, qry_ODO_TotalSub.ODate, qry_ODO_TotalSub.VehicleNum, qry_ODO_TotalSub.Odometer, Nz(DLast("Odometer","qry_ODO_TotalSub","[ID] < " & [OdomAlias]),0) AS Previous, [Odometer]-[Previous] AS Difference, Nz(DFirst("Odometer","qry_ODO_TotalSub"),0) AS StartOD, [Odometer]-[StartOD] AS RunningSum FROM qry_ODO_TotalSub ORDER BY qry_ODO_TotalSub.ID;
I want to count data from my table ( Table ) and to display result like a dashboard (Desired result ). To count this do i need to write query for every column and then link to final column? i have totally 300 columns to count I am attaching Table & desired result images;
I have set up a table for statistical information of students from our 8 campuses (campus, student first name last name, dob, parent info, grade, etc.). I have a query set-up for each campus.
I also have an excel spreadsheet when a student enrolls I change the number of students from each campus that are in grades 1-3, 4-6, 7-8 and 9-12.
Since I have already entered this information into my Access DB, I am wondering why do double-duty (thereby risking my forgetfulness) when I should be able to extract that information from these queries? Not sure how to do this in this grouping, per campus, giving a total count for each campus.
In this table it has a bookingID, CustomerID and some other none relevant details.
The CustomerID comes from table tblCustomer. i.e a customerID must exist in the customer table to be allowed in the bookings table tblBookings
A customer can exist in tblCustomer without existing in the booking table.
I am trying to write a query that will list each and every customer ID in the tblCustomer and count the number of bookings that that customer has (even if it is zero).
I have a query that will count the bookings if they exist in the booking table and display the number of times that a customer appears in the bookings table.
SELECT tblBookings.CustomerID, Count(tblBookings.CustomerID) AS NoOfBookings FROM tblBookings GROUP BY tblBookings.CustomerID;
How do I create a query that will do this but list all customers even if they don't exist in the bookings table (but obviously occur in the customers table)
I am trying to create a similar query where all bookings per hotel are listed even if no bookings are made for that hotel. I am guessing the answer is the same as above.
The Ritz. Bookings 0 The Hilton. Bookings 3 The Carlton. Bookings 0 The Lowry. Bookings 2
I've got a table with 23 columns. Column 1 is the ID row which has a unique client ID in it. Then we've got a column called 1st_Reason and one that goes with it called 1st_Transfer_Date. This pair repeats for 2 through 10. Each of the Reason columns can have a set value, for example "First Processor".
What I need to do is create a date with months on the Y axis and the 5 different reasons on the X axis. I need to count the number of "First Processor" across all 10 Reason columns for each month. I would need to repeat that for each other reason type, but if I can get one to work I can simply change the reason type.
I'm pretty new at Access queries so I don't know how to use a count statement to pull from all those queries AND get the corresponding date to be in range.
I am working with 4 tables and I am trying to get a count of the email address field in each table grouped by Email Group Name. I tried the dcount function but returned an error because some of the email addresses have an apostrophe in the field. Is there a way to do this in 1 query? This is an example of the result I would like:
Any way to use multiple count functions in a query with their own individual filters without affect the others?
For example:
SELECT [E&I Table].System, [E&I Table].DeleteRecord, Count([E&I Table].[Status#1]) AS [CountOfStatus#1], Count([E&I Table].[Status#2]) AS [CountOfStatus#2] FROM [E&I Table] WHERE ((([E&I Table].[Status#1]) Like "ITR Rcv'd by QA" Or ([E&I Table].[Status#1]) Like "Completed" Or ([E&I Table].[Status#1]) Like "Ready for T/O" Or ([E&I Table].[Status#1]) Like "Reviewed by JVV") AND (([E&I Table].[Status#2]) Like "ITR Rcv'd by QA" Or ([E&I Table].[Status#2]) Like "Completed" Or ([E&I Table].[Status#2]) Like "Ready for T/O" Or ([E&I Table].[Status#2]) Like "Reviewed by JVV")) GROUP BY [E&I Table].System, [E&I Table].DeleteRecord;
I am trying to count in each column of the E&I table with criteria using WHERE but the problem is when you have more than 1 WHERE it affects the other columns as well... tried a bunch of different ways and I am now having to create seperate Queries than combine them using another Query...
I have a result for a query made from four different tables for which I would like to refine the result of this query grouping multiple rows into columns.
Attached is a pdf file showing the results being obtained by my query and underneath is how the result would like it be after running the query.
I am trying to create a query that has a self referencing running total based on the values (point totals) of itself (running total of values in the running total column that have already been calculated for all previous records) plus the total of new points being added in the current record, less the total of points being removed in the current record. This running total can never go below 0, if it does, the running total should restart at zero and add in only new points and begin the process again with the next records
I am able to do this in Excel in less than two seconds so I know there has to be a way to port this into a query. I've attached an excel example of what I am exactly trying to do
If it takes multiple queries to complete the required output I am ok with it. In my previous outtakes I have had up to 8 queries but just couldn't seem to do it..
