I've made a query and designed a report for it. Simply it includes:
Area code, customer name, other customer details.
I want other people, when they click on the report to be given a drop down box which allows them to choose a specific area code before it generate the report. So, for example, they just want to look at Yorkshire region records, they choose Yorkshire from the drop down box and it'll generate the Yorkshire report. I've searched around but can't find what these are called.
I have a query which works perfectly fine, it's the report that I'm having issues with displaying correctly.
My report is a daily personnel accountability report that shows where everyone is for the day. Instead of having a cumbersome query like I did before, I have opted to just use the results of the selected drop-down option to move the X to the appropriate box of where so-and-so is for the day.
Using
Code: If [marked_as] = 1 Then Me.Morning.Value = "X" ElseIf [marked_as] = 2 Then Me.Afternoon.Value = "X" ElseIf [marked_as] = 3 Then Me.Evenings.Value = "X" End If
I was unable to get it to work accurately outside of showing the three dummy names under the same column, even though the three dummy names were each placed in one of the three test categories.
I have this set as a private function called when the report loads, which is based on a query that filters down to the exact department or office (depending on the user's selection). Like I said, that part works fine, it's getting the code to accurately display in the correct column.
So I have a report that opens via Parameter. The SQL behind the query that runs the report is (I took out alot of lines that aren't necessary to answer the question)
PARAMETERS [Enter Your Box Id] Short; SELECT DocumentsTable.OrganizationalID, . . . DocumentsTable.Status FROM DepartmentsTable INNER JOIN (Year1 INNER JOIN DocumentsTable ON Year1.ID = DocumentsTable.RecordDateYearID) ON DepartmentsTable.ID = DocumentsTable.DepartmentID WHERE (((DocumentsTable.Voided)<>'Y' Or (DocumentsTable.Voided) Is Null) AND ((DocumentsTable.ID)=[Enter Your Box ID]));
So if I click on the report, I get a little popup that says "Enter Your Box ID", and when I do, the report works just as expected.
However, I also want to be able to open this report via link from another report, and pass the Box ID #. I just can't get the syntax right. I would have thought it was this:
Private Sub ID_Click() DoCmd.OpenReport "Find A Box", acViewReport, , "[Enter Your Box Id]=" & Me.ID End Sub
However when that execute, I still get the pop up asking for "Enter Your Box ID"
Basically when I click a button on a form I want it to run a report but only when certain criteria are met as entered in the 'Where Condition' box. I've managed to do this successfully when it is an equal to query but I now want to run a 'contains' query and don't really know where to start.
I have a text box on the form labelled [Desc] and I want the report to pull records where any text entered in the [Desc] text box is contained in the fields [Used Stock]![Model]
I have a database with loads of different sales data from Jan 2014 with other product details as well. I also have a form where the user can input any of these data (this is based on a query):
- Campaign name - Exact Date - Month - Year - Category - Campaign Type
This should run the query, then open a report that's grouped by:
1. Year 2. Month 3. Exact Date 4. Dem name
Even if the user inputs the month and year on the form, when reopening the report, it prompts for inputting the year and month as well, but nothing else.
i have a button opening forms however when they open they appear in window mode and not full screen. is there an option or a line of code of code i am over looking to make it open in full screen mode?
I am trying to run a report based on a combobox selection. I have three different reports, each for the three different items in the combo box. I just don't know how to code it so when I run the report, it picks up the name in the combo box and opens the correct report. This is what my code looks like for the button that will run the report:
Private Sub Command7_Click() DoCmd.OpenReport ("Signers Authorized for Check Writing"), acViewPreview, , WhereCondition = [BTrans] = "Check Writing" DoCmd.OpenReport ("Signers Authorized for Stop Payment"), acViewPreview, , WhereCondition = [BTrans] = "Stop Payments" DoCmd.OpenReport ("Signers Authorized for Wires"), acViewPreview, , WhereCondition = [BTrans] = "Wires" End Sub
The problem is, that as soon as I hit the Run Report button, all three reports open up, so it is not reading what is in the combo box. The quotes, "Check Writing" , "Stop Payments" and "Wires" are the actual selections in the combobox and [BTrans] is the name of the combobox.
I have a main Form "Client" that shows details such as Representatives, phone numbers, status, etc. I also have a main report "CRM" that is a nicer summarized table version of all of my Client form entries.
The "CRM" form will be used by others in my office to see what clients we are contacting, etc. What I want to be able to do is have someone open the CRM form first. If they want to see even more specific info (not everything is included in the report, as that would be too messy), I want them to be able to double click the Client's name on the report and be taking to the corresponding entry on the Client form that shows more details.
Right now my code for the Report which is not working is the following:
Private Sub Client_Name_DblClick()'double click on a client name in the reportDoCmd.OpenForm "Client", acNormal, , "[Client_Name]='" & [Client_Name]'this should open the Client Form to the record of the same client that was double clicked on the reportEnd Sub
I have a report which is accessed via a hyperlink in a form. I have the default view for the report set to Print Preview yet everytime I click the link the report opens in report view which I don't want.
The event for the hyperlink is as follows:
Private Sub cmdPrint_Click() Dim strWhere As String If Me.Dirty Then 'Save any edits. Me.Dirty = False End If
[Code] .....
I have tried changing "acViewPreview" to "acViewReport" and "acViewNormal" and each time it is either going straight to print or opening in report view. I just want the report to open in print preview mode so I can decide if to print a hard copy or send to pdf.
On design, layout and report view, everything looks exactly how I want it. However, when I display it in Print Preview mode, checkboxes appear about the Project Name. There's nothing in my report to show that I have these checkboxes on the report. Where these could be coming from and why they only show in the Print Preview layout?
I have 10 unbound textboxes with the Tag Name "LoopID" in my report. I have to display the "PatientNumbers" field from the table tblPatient in those text boxes. Below is my code.
When I run the report, I get the error message: Run-time error '2448.' You can't assign value to this object and the code "Ctl.Value = rst!LCANumber" is highlighted.
Private Sub Report_Current() Dim strSql As String Dim dbs As Database Dim rst As Recordset Dim x As Integer Dim Ctl As Control strSql = "Select PatientNumber from tblPatient"
I have a Table of Special instructions. Each type of a Yes or No Text Box. There are 13 items in this table along with the ID key.
Each Field has a Special Description. I used the Y/N format for ease of use for user input to simply select the applicable options.
However, I need the text description to display on the printed report, which is not the problem.
So i created a separate text box for each item that simply says; If True, "Description", else blank. And named each one sp1...sp14.
So now, I want to take these text boxes with the proper descriptions and string them together.
My formula is: =Trim([sp1])&" "&([sp2]) etc.
This does produce the proper text results, however, and oddly enough, each item displays on its own line rather than in a string.
I get: SP1 SP1
Instead of the desired result of SP1 SP2
This seems to simple, and probably has to do with the yes/no format. I've tried with and without (), and using + instead of &, and to troubleshoot, I eliminated the " ". No luck. Everything is coming back as a single column.
This basically gives a count of for a specific month. There are twelve rows of text boxes and two columns. There is a query applied to the report to input the year, as this is a yearly report.
What I want to do is link a chart to each and every text box to show the data in an easy to view format. But I can't seem to figure it out, and I've had no luck on the web .
I am using Access 2010 (self taught and continuing to learn each time I get asked for a new report). I have created a query based on the data being selected from two combo boxes on a form, ie start date and end date. The report works as it should but I want to be able to automatically use the dates in the report heading. For instance, Summary Report from xxxxx to xxxxx, where xxxxx is the start and end dates that the user entered into the two combo boxes.
The date field on my query reads Between [forms]![F - CboReportDates]![Start Date] And [forms]![F - CboReportDates]![EndDate]
I have a report and within the report I have added some text boxes with some simple logic such as sum, count, etc. These text boxes function well as long as the logic is referencing existing fields. The minute I try to have a text box reference another text box I get the "Enter Parameter Value" box pop up. I don't understand this as the text box I am referencing has a vaule based on what it is referencing.
Example: 1st text box control source =Sum([existingfield]) I get a value. 2nd text box control source =[existingfield2]/[1st text box] I get "Enter Parameter Value" of 1st text box.
This works great to return a report if the user selects something from the combo box. How do I adapt this so that the user can also leave the combo box blank and filter the report to return all records?Additionally, what if I want to have the user filter between dates selected on the form; i.e. between 'txtStart' and 'txtEnd'
I have a master form for lack of a better phrase and 3 other forms that represent specific items in the original drop down box. In the master drop down box, I have all 50 states, and the 3 forms are for 3 specific states. Here's the code I have so far but when I save, it says "The 'OpenForm' macro action has an invalid value for the 'Where Condition' agrument."
Option Compare Database Option Explicit Private Sub State_AfterUpdate() Select Case Me.State Case "CA" DoCmd.OpenForm "Auditor Form (CA)"
I have a drop down box which shows Quote: Code | Surname | Forename | Faculty | Team However I can only get 1 drop down box to enter its data into one cell. What I want is for 1 drop down box where there are currently 4 which will fill in all the details.
I am just starting out with a database and last night got more success than I imagined in that I have the basic database, a usable form and a report set up and displaying mostly as I want. What I would like to do is to be able to look on a form and select certain criteria and only see records that fall into them. The database is for magazines so for example I would like to be able to select "Prima" magazines and only see those, then maybe select 2005 and only see the Prima magazines i have from 2005,
Is it possible to use find and replace to modify text in report design - or else is there something else I can do to get the same effect? I have a really useful report and I want to modify it for use with a different dataset. To do that I will need to change the text in over 150 text boxes. I have seven different fields which each occur over 20 times in the control source formulas in the text boxes, because they are used in different ways in different calculations. If this was excel I could do a simple find and replace to change e.g. every reference to fieldname OLD to fieldname NEW, but I cannot see how to do that within access report so am haveing to click on each text box in turn, go to properties and edit the text box .
I am trying to switch to a more general naming system in the modified report so then I will be able to assign data with the required fieldnames for the report within a query. But the report I am starting with has field names based on years 2013, 2014, 2015 etc.I want a quick way to change each reference to those field names to my more generic new field names.
I have created a Db in MS Access 2010 and under Options > Current Database I have done the following:
- Used drop down to select a form I want to display on opening - Unchecked display navigation pane - Unchecked allow full menus
This works how I want it to, perfectly. I then send it to a client who also has MS Access 2010 and when they open the file the form I have told it to open doesn't open, the navigation bar is displayed (with the form I want to open highlighted) and the full menus show but are locked.
What's going on? Is it some security setting the client has that isn't letting the opening procedure execute properly?
I have a form ive created as part of my database used for data input.
Someone opens the form , enters their project number, and then enters what country it is in, what region it is in, and what sub region it is in. They are all dropdown menus with the information coming from a table via a lookup wizard.
What i want is when someone choses england in the country field, i want the region field to only displays the regions in england, and then in the sub region field i want only the sub regions that are in the regions displayed in the drop down list.
Is there a way in which i can link three drop down boxes together?
I'll create an example of what I mean...
I'll attach a Excel file which contains two identical filters, one of them where the filter is turned on.
If I select the "Serviced" filter, I am left with three options for "Make" and two options for "color". If I select the "color" as "White" I am left with just one "Make" - "MG".
I understand that some sort of "hierarchy" needs to be in place so I will Make it so that "Serviced" Must be entered first, then "Color" then "Make" so that if you select a different "Service", the "Color" and "Make" will repopulate with the appropriate values.
This is certainly possible with a REDICULOUS amount of coding that would map each value to its corresponding values however is this possible some other (easier) way?
I am trying to build a database in which there is a main table and in this main table there are products and there are types of products eg.
Ringtones - is the Product and Type - True Tone(mp3), category - R&B another eg is Graphic is the product and Wallpaper is the type of graphic Category - friends .
I would like to combine this so when you are in the MAIN products table with "Code" ,"Product" ,"Type" , "Category", "Title", "Artist" and "Price" that the drop down boxes say for instance when you click on "product" and you chose ringtone then in the "type" column there are only the options from the Ringtone type and not also for graphic etc.. is this hectic to do? Hope I have explained it ok...? Thanks ! Really hope some one can help me with this ? Melissa Cape Town SA
