Dec 21, 2013

Is there a way of formulating statistics at the bottom of a report?

Heres what i have.

The report pulls Rank, Last Name, First Name, Assigned weapon, Weapon qualification date. After 6 months i use conditional formatting to highlight the soldiers qualification date red. Im in the military that's why im tracking all this, but I need figures to report to higher, and at the bottom i would like it to show, "#Qualified", "#UnQualified","% Qualified", "% Unqualified", "#Expired","%Expired"

Reports :: Extra Spacing At The Bottom Of A Report?

Jul 16, 2013

I have a sub-report and the last row is highlight, however, there seems to be extra spacing after the last row. I removed all report/page header/footer so all what's left is the Detail section but I still have this white space after the last row.

Reports :: Grid Line On Bottom / Last Record Of Report

Oct 25, 2013

I created a report that only has gridlines around the outside border of the entire report (rather than around each record). I want the grid line style on the last/bottom record to be solid so it boxes in all the records. When I change the "Gridline Style Bottom" for the records, each record has a bottom gridline rather than an outside box around all the records.

Reports :: Display Total At The Top Of Column Instead Of At Bottom

Mar 15, 2014

I have reports that total the figures in a column and displays the total at the bottom of the column. I would like to display the total at the top of the column since the length of the column continues to grow and I would like to see that total before scrolling down to view the various individual entries.

No matter how I try the =count(x) always shows an error. Is it not possible to display the total figure at the top of a column instead of at the bottom?

Reports :: Can Grow Field At Bottom Of Page Gets Cut Off

Nov 7, 2013

I am using MS Access 2003.I have a report whose Detail band contains a zero-height Comment field positioned at the bottom of the other single row of fields. It has Can Grow = Yes, so it sits waiting to grow if there's any data in this Comment field.

However, when this report prints, if the Comment field just "happens" to straddle two pages, it gets positioned only on the first page and gets cut off in the process. (See attachment 2.) Ideally, the entire field should display on the second page instead.

If I adjust the margins in Page Setup, I can fix this on this particular report. However, depending on the data being reported, these new margin settings can create a problem for the same report with different data. (All depends on where the Comment falls.)I'd like the report to work consistently, no matter the data or margins.

Reports :: Forcing Page Break At The Bottom Of Group

Oct 2, 2014

I have a report which is grouped by employee number - each group can have one or many records displayed - it works fine, but can look untidy sometimes when there are more records than will fit without wrapping onto another page; this is particularly prevalent when there are two or three groups - the third one may run over onto the next page, without group headers.

Is there anyway to force a page break at the bottom of a group if that group is not going to fit on the current page in its entirety?

Reports :: Show Fixed Size Data In The Bottom Right Corner Of Page When Printed

Jul 3, 2015

I have a report which shows the results of two separate queries in a simple table view.

One set of data varies in size depending on the amount of records and the other is a fixed size and never changes.

I'm wanting to make my report always show the fixed size data in the bottom right corner of the page when its printed.

I've tried putting it in the footer section of the report but don't want it to affect the size of the details section and just show next to the other query results.

Is this possible and if so how would I achieve this?

Using Query To Formulate A Date Field??

Jun 30, 2005

OK .. bear with me. I am a self-taught Access user (sometimes clueless!) I have a table with member info. Children's birthdate is a field. Children are only eligible for the program until their 3rd birthday. Isn't there a way for the table/query function to figure out 3 years from the birthdate and put the data into a field?

The database already contains all the children birthdates ... can I enter a function that shows i.e., John's birthdate is 7/15/02 ... 7/15/05 is the date he becomes ineligible. If that date is in another column, I can sort all dates out and only view the eligible members.

I know this is probably SIMPLISTIC -- I am having a very hard time. THANX

Monthly Statistics

Jan 13, 2006

I will try to explain my problem as best i can and would appreciate any thoughts other people have on it, it is surely similar in some degree to someone elses previous work!

I need to produce management information on a monthly basis, one example of this type of work are an employees one to ones.

table121 contains following fields, ID scheduledDate CompletedDate Completed(yes/no)

My report/query needs to group records by the month (which i do through formatting date fields to display mm/yy), count the number of scheduled one2ones, count the number of completed one2ones, display a %.

I have played around and got this to work using querys with grouping and sums.

My problem is if the schedule date and the completed date are in different months then all of the statistics become out of sync, particualy when there are more appraisals taking place than scheduled.
Any ideas?

Count Statistics Of Db

Jul 27, 2007

I'm trying to find out the statistics of my dabase:

# of total items
# of unique items from 4 different criterias

When I put that into the queries, using the count function, it works well for 1-2, and then if I add in more into the query, it gives ridiculously high numbers for the counts, and freezes. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks!

Statistics Query

Aug 15, 2007

I am looking to come up with statistics for my volunteer tracker. I have a table of transactions that records who works each night we are building our haunted house. These transaction records record the Date, Worker and the Time In & Time Out. I would like (probably a cross tab query) that lists all the dates in the left hand column, and count the number of workers in another column, then the number of man-hours put in for that date. Kind of like this:

Date | Worker Count | Man-Hours
---------------------------------
7/30/2007 | 42 | 168
7/31/2007 | 31 | 124
8/2/2007 | 28 | 120
8/3/2007 | 17 | 68

Any help on this would be awesome. I have no experience with cross tab queries whatsoever.

Statistics In Access

Mar 18, 2006

Sorry if this is a question asked a lot but I need help with statistics in acces.. Im doing a booking system in access with customer and booking/bill tables. I have an IF statement to work out price (in a query) for the booking or which displays error if booking cannot be made. The query runs when a button is pressed in the form. The booking price is worked out by time (morning, afternoon, evening) and special (gold wedding anniversary, extended evening etc) which change the price. The date and booking time fields are set together as primary key (composite or whatever key...). The system works monthly. I need a system to find out how much money has been made, how many bookings have been made (and how many could have been made), how many are regular bookings (there will be a regular booking yes/no field). I have probably given too much information but I need to know how to do this more automatically then copying and pasting info into excel and doin equations in it. Also in excel I would just have to presume month = 30 days or manually type in. Is there any code to copy the data into an excel spreadsheet with predone equations automatically? or is there a better way to do this? that isnt too difficult. I have only just started looking at VB so dont know much. PLEASE HELP! PLEASE!!!

Querying To Get Access Statistics

Nov 30, 2006

This is either very simple or very complex, I haven't figured out which yet.

I need to know the number of tables in my database and from each table I need to know how many records are in each table. Ordinarily I would just count the number of tables then open each one up to get the number of records, but I'm working with 100+ tables so that's not very practical.

If it makes a difference, the tables in question are linked tables. I don't imagine that is relevant, but thought I'd mention it.

Thanks!

Queries :: Create A Statistics Function On A Database

Jun 15, 2014

I am trying to create a statistics function on a database. The idea is that the user will enter a start and end date and either search for all records during that date range or select a client from a combo box and only view records for that client during the selected dates.

After doing quite a bit of searching, it seems that I should be using a wildcard in the criteria however I cannot get this to work. The code I have been playing with is:

Code:
=Nz(Forms![Statistics]![ClientCombo] ,"*")

I have changed the "*" to a specific client number and if the combo box is left blank, results are shown for that client only and if a client is selected from the combo box then the selected client is shown. The only thing I cannot get it to do is show all entries if the combo box is left blank.

Tables :: Phone Statistics - Formatting Field To Show Duration Not Time

Apr 13, 2014

I am building a database to enter staff phone statistics. As an example my fields would be - Name, Date, Staffed time, Available time, Aux time and then calculated fields to show the percentage of time i.e %Aux, %Available etc.

My problem is the formatting of the times entered as they are duration not time. Say staffed time is entered as 08:00:00 for 8 hours and Aux time 03:57:21. The only format I can see to suit is date time but then Access takes these entries as 8am and 3:57am is there a way to change this to work as duration hh:mm:ss?

Reports :: Print Only Report Matching Current Record In Form Among Multiple Reports

Oct 2, 2013

I have been an MS Excel man all along my career and I am a novice in MS Access.I have created a table, [Initial Customer Approval] which records data from a Form, [Initial Customer Approval]. Once the data is entered in the Form, I need to do some calculations based on the data entered in some of the fields in the form.I created 6 different queries for the six possible values in those fields. now for each of those queries I created respective reports.I placed a Print command button in the Form.

1. When I press the Print button it should open the report for the current record in the Form. (Currently It Opens all the reports simulatneously, with only one relevant report containing the current record; other opened reports being blank.)

2. If user presses the Print button before pressing Save button then system should prompt user.

Here is the code (Please note [reference number] is the unique ID generated for each record entered in the tabe through form):

Private bSaveClicked As Boolean
Private Sub Form_BeforeUpdate(Cancel As Integer)
If Not bSaveClicked Then
MsgBox "You are trying to navigate away from the active record. Please either save your changes, or press ESC to cancel your changes.", vbOKOnly + vbInformation
Cancel = True

Reports :: Subtract Totals From 2 Sub-reports In Main Report Of Access?

Dec 28, 2014

I am trying to create a P&L statement in access. I know what I want to come out at the end. I am just starting to play with access and having trouble getting what I want to come out of it.

On the sales side I have a query that gathers all the revenue sources and calculates a total for each date. I then use a second query to just take out the data I want for the P&L report. I created a sub-report that displays the data I want. I use the grouping and grand total features to get the total into the report footer. So far so good.

On the expense side I created a form of a query to manage the one to many relationship to capture the data for expenses (one purchase with many line items). I created a query based of this query to get the relevant data for my expense sub-report. I created the sub-report and got everything looking and calculating the way I want it to. I use the same grouping and grand total features to display the data in the report footer. Still good.

I created a new main parent report with the two sub-reports (sales & expenses) on it and even was able to pull the totals from the sub-reports into the main (so currently the subtotals of the two sub-reports are displayed twice). Now when I try to use the textboxes I used to pull the sub-report totals into the main report to perform additional calculations (sales - expenses) I get #error. I have tried different things and gotten ?name.

Control source for the two textbox controls on the main that display correctly, but don't let me do any further calculations.

=[rptP&LExpensesOverview]![AccessTotalsAmount]

=[rptP&LSalesOverview]![AccessTotalsTotal Sales]

To do the subtraction I have tried using the references above, as well as just using the names of the unbound text boxes in the report that bring the totals into the main report.

As a work around, I tried to build one query with all the data from sales and expenses, but can't "filter" based on date and get the data I want in the query results because the two sets of data are not necessarily related. I either get a long list of records, or no records (I am currently only playing with about 5 days of data).

Detail
Department Footer: Totals
Report Footer: Overall Totals for all departments

Among the details is a severity rating high medium or low, I have been asked to make the report shorten the records which have been given a low severity (because it takes up as much space as the more important/severe ones).

The only method I can think of is to use the onformat event, to shrink and make invisible all the fields that I don't want to see if the severity field shows 'low'.

Reports :: Select Records From Report To Populate Second Report?

May 24, 2015

We have a shift log that includes both personnel actions during any given day as well as operational actions. (We recently switched from a word document to an Access Database to allow multiple users to input events while another has the logbook open already (which you couldn't do with Word))

At the beginning of each day, my manager reviews the previous days log and forwards up pertinent data (some personnel, some operational) to our higher authorities. Is there a way to allow him to select which records he'd like to include on that higher-authorities report straight from the local-level report?

I'm not a fan of allowing him a "Save As" feature because that kind of defeats the data integrity purpose of an events log where he could save as an RTF and then edit any of the log entries without any checks or balances.

Reports :: Scrolling Down Report Changes Report Fields To Errors

Jun 26, 2013

I have an odd thing happening with my reports. There is a main report that gives class information (from query). There are two subreports (from queries also ) with scores (one for each type of test). There are some unbound controls on the main form that display a count of how many scores are recorded which are totals from the subreports. The controls all report the correct numbers however, when I scroll down to view each record, some of them change to #error, or #name, or similar for a moment. Sometimes they will stay in error form when I stop scrolling but change to correct if I scroll up just a bit. Is this because the controls won't calculate unless that report record has focus?
