Reports :: Generating Report On Time Elapsed - Date Approved
Sep 5, 2013
I have a large table with a number of fields. I have written the query that I want but can't quite work out how to get it to do the main thing I need. I have several fields that I need to generate in the report but what I want it based on is the field called Date Approved.
When the Date Approved has been Active for more than 4 weeks I want to pick it up in the report. I don't want to set a date to start from but pick up everything that has passed 4 weeks in "Date Approved".

I have a database with a bunch of related tables. One holds information on (let's say) types of food. A field in that table tells whether the food is HOT or COLD. Foods are grouped by MEALS in a related table - the PK of the foods table is stored as an field in the MEALS table. What people here are looking for is a report that lists all the foods in each MEAL, the temperature of the food, and whether the meal is HOT, COLD, or MIXED - foods are both HOT and COLD. I've got a report that lists all the FOODs, grouped by MEALs - it's just the overall temperature of the MEAL that I am missing right now.

I want to know if it is possible to generate reports in writable PDF format? Also, is it possible to send the report automatically to a list of emails recorded in the Access db using Outlook?

I've got a simple invoice database with 10 amount fields, that needs to be summed up intoa Total including Gst box on a monthly report.
Report only has Date, Invoice Number And Total Amount fields on it, so I need to pull the information from table and sum it into Total Amount.
ie. = sum ( t1 +t2 + t3 + t4 + t5 + t6 + t7 + t8 + t9 + t10)
and sum above divided by 10% then added together to form total.
I'm just not sure how to do it, everything I've tried so far ain't worked.
Every example I've looked at is only doing maths with 1 field.

I have a report that is purely for points gained from products. Each product is split into 3 (e.g. Investment A, B + C) and there is a indicator that means the points gained can be added up (e.g. I for Investment and S for Savings).
I have made the report which is many unbound fields. There is a summary section for all points added together with fields Total Amount, Monthly Target, Quarterly Amount and Quarterly Target.
Then the report is split into each of the 4 products (Each of these have different amounts of points. Number indicates it):
Investments (10), Savings (15), Pensions (15) and Protection of Life Savings (20).
Each of these have 4 fields - Total Amount, Target Amount, Quarterly Amount and Quarterly Target.
I need a way to generate these point scores using the Product_Points field. I already have Quarterly Target and Target Amount because there is a set field called Points_Annual_Target.
EDIT: I also don't want it to come up with the 'insert parameters' so all the info is one page.

Formatting issue regarding elapsed time calculated using DateDiff().
I understand that you can specify the output value for DateDiff(). In my case I have chosen "n" for minutes. Each result in my query shows the correct calculation in terms of minutes.
[PunchIn] = 11/23/2013 8:11:28 AM
[PunchOut] = 11/23/2013 5:43:30 PM
[ShiftLength] =DateDiff("n", [PunchIn],[PunchOut]) = 572 minutes.
Now when I try to format the result in terms of H:MM (be it in a form or a report) I get varied results. I'll illustrate an example below:
=Format(([ShiftLength]/60),"0") & "." & Format(([ShiftLength] Mod 60),"00") Returns 10.32 Not correct
=Format(([ShiftLength]60),"0") & "." & Format(([ShiftLength] Mod 60),"00") Returns 9.32 This is correct but I need my result to be in the form of a decimal such as my next example
=([ShiftLength]/60) Returns 9.53333333. Getting there but how do I have this result only show two decimal points 9.53?

I have a booking sequence. Sales representatives take an order on a booking form and then then click a button to draw up the related report. The form is showing all Booking forms, not the specific one just taken.Do I need an OpenArgs statement? I've tried that but can't seem to get it to work.

I've seen this question asked in multiple places but do not understand the answers (yet). I haven't worked with the ribbon and XML before.
I'm able to turn off the navigation panel and the ribbon completely which gives the user a nice, empty screen. However, when reports are selected, they open up in Print Preview but the ribbon doesn't return with the Print Preview.
In short, how do I get the Print Preview ribbon to return when generating a report?
Access 2013.

I'm creating a report that list multiple users providing an input of "approved" or "not approved" for a plurality of proposals. I'm trying to create a report that lists the percentage for each user that calculates the number of times the user inputs "not approved" over the total number of proposals that particular user reviewed.
For example,
Steve reviews 50 proposals, and of the 50 proposals Steve inputs 10 of those proposals to be "not approved". I need a calculated field that counts the number of times that Steve inputs "not approved" and calculates that 20% of proposals reviewed are not approved, of all the proposals he reviewed. The number of proposals are continuously being added so the number 50 will not always be the denominator.
There are at least 10 other users that I have to do the same calculation but if I'm able to do the example above.

I have a working dB which can calculate a shift duration and sum total all shifts worked within a period for the purpose of producing a labor report for payroll. I have successfully used the DateDiff function and converted the minutes to HH:MM on my form and reports. Now I want to calculate elapsed time for a specific period within a shift, I'll call it OtherHours and I am aiming to calculate a portion of time that meet the following conditions below. I am using field names of [PunchIn] and [PunchOut] and both are of type General Date.
IF [PunchOut] ISNOT Saturday,Sunday
EXIT FUNCTION
ELSE
IF [PunchOut] ISNOT Between Midnight and 0559 hours
EXIT FUNCTION
ELSE
DATEDIFF ("n", <MIDNIGHT>, [PunchOut])
My thoughts are to solve the DateDiff portion and then figure out how to apply the conditions within the IF statements.

Hi
Newbie to Access so bare with me.
I am making a database to log working hours onto for different contracts I work on.
The fields I am having a problem with are "start date and time", "End date and time" and then "Elapsed time"
I need to populate these fields in the format 13/08/2006 17:20 etc.
How do I set the date/time format to do this and then how do I calculate the elapsed time in days,hours and minutes ? (perhaps just hours might do instead of days and hours) I also need to take out non working time ie 6pm through to 8am to make the calculations correct.
Everything else works fine bu I am stuck on this now.
Thanks.

I am trying to build a form to calculate time elapsed/time difference.
Example if one turns up for work at 1900hrs (start) and ends his duty at 0200hrs the next day (end), how much time has elapsed? I am trying to use this argument :
Elapsed: IIf([end] > [start], Format([end] - [start], "Short Time"), Format(1 - [start] + [end], "Short Time"))
Unfortunately, I am not grtting the desired result. Could anyone please assist?
Thanks

I have been trying to help a user calculate elapsed time. I referenced the GetElapsedTime from the following Microsoft article
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/210604/
It displays ok on a form or inserting on the detail in a report like it suggests
but the user would also like to total up the elapsed time on the report. Not sure how to do that with the way this function is built.

I am creating query that calculates time interval so that this is used to calculate pay. Employees clock in at [time_in] and clock out at [time_out]. Sometimes time_out is on the next day of time_in.So if is substract time_out - time_in I will get a negative number.I am therefore using the following formula to extract the time interval; Interval: Format([time_out]-[time_in],"Short Time")
this gives out a result such as 3:30 when in fact I would need 3.5 to calculate pay by multiplying with rate.How do I convert 3:30 to 3.5. From the searches I get that I need to multiple 3:30 by 24. But when in put done in the query Interval: Format([time_out]-[time_in],"Short Time")*24

I have a spreadsheet linked to this database and therefore require this field to be formatted correctly in hours and minutes. For example...I wish to store a decimal time of 37.5 as 37:30.

I have a database with two fields [RECEIVED] and [DISPATCHED] which unfortunately are text fields which I can't change (linked via ODBC). Time is entered in these fields as military time.
I created a query with [DISPATCHED]-[RECEIVED] which works unless the time spans different hours. Example 1605-1555 returns 50 instead of the correct 10.
Any idea how I can use a query to calculate this accurately. I am an intermediate user. Any help appreciated.

Here is the table info I'm working with:
class status changeby changedate statustracking
INCIDENT-RESOLVED- Person A-2/20/2014 9:05 -
INCIDENT-RESOLVED-Person b-2/20/2014 11:57 -
INCIDENT-QUEUED-Person b-2/19/2014 13:57 - 01:24:08
INCIDENT-QUEUED-Person c-2/19/2014 15:21 - 19:29:58
INCIDENT-QUEUED-Person c-2/20/2014 10:51 - 01:06:00
I need to be able to add the statustracking time together per person per status (so person c would need 19:29:58 + 01:06:00 added together). Access keeps trying to add dates to the field or reconfigure the numbers to date ime or zeros if I use any of the data type other then Memo or text.

I have a database that stores information for lab testing. Each time a tech does a "step" in the test process he logs it in the table, using an input form. There are different categories, for example preparation, testing, analysis, etc, and each of those steps take time. I have the form autopopulate the date and time with NOW() evertime the form is updated. What i want to do is calculate the time it takes to do each in days. I can easily get how many days it was from now since they logged the test, =NOW()-TestDateTime. What I want to do is get the number of days it took to do each step, ie the number of days between each event. Is there a way to do this?

I have a queries that do all the calculations and dumps the output to Query X for all different types of customers. At the moment I am required to generate a report for each of the customers and send it to them, manually.
End Goal:Initiate a Macro (at a given time at a given frequency) that would run a process to generate different reports for all different types of customers using a standard report template. I am also trying to avoid having to create a report for each customer (as the customer base grows, the report count will grow) so looking at something that would look into Query X and generate # of reports depending on number of customers.
