Reports :: How To Adjust Text For Subforms With Dynamic Heights

I've created an Access Report of a letter to be printed and mailed to customers. The majority of the letter is text, however there is a subform in the middle that will have a wide range of records displayed in it. This causes the subform's height to adjust from 1/2" to several inches, depending on the number of records. I need the text below the subform to start just below the last record in the subform, no matter how many records are displayed in the subform.

Reports :: Adjust Section Width To Avoid Blank Pages

I have set up a report in Access. However, when I look at it in print preview, I get the message that the section width is greater than the page width, and that some pages will be blank. It is obvious that the Detail Section is the issue, but I can't figure out how to reduce the section width. The detail section only contains a few text boxes that are well within the margins of the other sections.

How do I adjust the section width so there won't be any blank pages?

Help With Dynamic Reports

hi,
i'm having a problem making my report dynamic, i have a query which returns the
payments due in the next month, my question is, if i have a form based on this query,
how can i make it so that, if i need to print an invoice for one of the customers, lets say the currently displayed record,
how can i limit the customers displayed in that report (invoice) to just the current record that i want the invoice for?

Dynamic Crosstab Reports

I have 12 months' worth of data that the user wants displayed on a crosstab report. I have no problem creating the crosstab query or subsequent report. However, the user wants to be able to select their own 12 month time period. So, my crosstab is based upon a make table query, that will allow the user to enter parameters.
Now, my problem is that these 12 month column headers/data will change as the user enters different date ranges. How do I write the code that will allow me to pass these variables to the report? I'm using 97.

I have a form with payment information and need a list, what date the payments are due. These can be only 2 or 3 payments up to maybe 24 payments. The result I want is something like this:

Date Amount Total paid
1.7. 500.00 500.00
1.8. 500.00 1,000.00

The list itself is not a problem, but I need a list who only shows the number of payments as agreed, 2 lines (with paydates) if 2, 12 if 12 payments. I have the information of the total amount, the number of installments and the first payment date.

I have a crosstab Query as the source for my report, of course the issue is the column headings on the report. I have Purchasers as a row heading, Year as a row heading, Month/Year as a row heading, Meter as a column heading, PaidMCF as Value and, a total as a Row heading. My issue is feeding the column headings on my report with the meter names.

Purchaser 1 has 23 meters attached
Purchaser 2 has 1 meter attached
Purchaser 3 has 6 meters attached
Purchaser 4 has 2 meters attached
Purchaser 5 has 16 meters attached
Purchaser 6 has 11 meters attached.

I created a dynamic crosstab report with 4 unbound fields in the details section and 4 unbound fields in the header section, which all work perfectly well. The crosstab query contains 17 columns. The last 4 columns contain the values I need to take the sum of. I have put some code in the open event procedure of the report.

I'm currently creating an invoicing report for a company, and for record purposes they need a dynamic field on the report for the specific Invoice Number of each client they invoice. I have the field set up currently as a text box =[Invoice#] so they have to enter an invoice number when they generate the report. However, when I generate the report and put in a number, I'm getting some whacky outputs.

For example, I've tested it with a test client, and when I give the client an invoice number of 1, the report somehow changes it to 49.

Assign Dynamic Query Value To Text Box ???

I have the following query, which I know works.

The query is called "products_due_in_query"

SELECT Sum([Supplier_order_line].[quantity]) AS [Due_in]
FROM Supplier_order_line
WHERE (((Supplier_order_line.order_line_status)="Awaiting delivery") AND ((Supplier_order_line.product_number)=[product_number_combo]));


product_number_combo is a combobox on a form called "product_enquiry".

I have a text box on "product_enquiry", which I want to show the value of "Due In" (from the query), when the user selects a product_number from the product_number_combo combobox.

How can I do this? I have tried setting the text box control source to products_due_in_query.Due_in but all I get is "#name".

I thought about doing it with VB code, but dont know how.

I have used .recordSource before, to assign a value to a combobox, but I dont know how to do it for a text box.

Can anyone help?

I've made a crosstab query and would like to use it to create a subreport. In the column headers I have names of courses. Courses can be added or removed. How can I make a crosstab report with dynamic columns?

I have made a cross-tab query which works fine. I also have made a report which is based on this cross-tab query. Due to nature of the cross-tab query the Value column(s) is dynamic. The report I made is based on all available data types (columns). The report works if all data type is available but the report fails if some of the data types are not available (i.e columns are missing due to not having any value or data). I hope I am explaining this correctly,

Is there a way I can use expressions in the report to place a conditional clause that if the Control Source doesn't exist place a Null or 0 in the report or in its place.

How To Get Dynamic Location Stored In Path Variable For Transfer Text

I have used Transfer text cmd to export query to text in MS access. This works fine. path= "D:/test/"DoCmd.TransferText acExportFixed,"Query1",path,False But i need to change the path dyanmically as my wish when i run this query. Like i may save my txt in desktop or C: or D:. I dont want to hard code path as above.

Is there any way to achieve this? If i get the dyanmic location stored in path variable i can achieve it. But i dont know how to achieve this.

Docmd.OutputTo acOutputQuery,query1

Above query prompts me for selecting location. But transferText doesn't? why?

As this application is stored on server. If i give a static path, its exporting in Server D:/test/ But i need this to be stored in my local. This can be done only if it prompts box for user to select the location.

I need to create a report with multiple subforms. I set up my first report and then I believe I need to add "more detail" sections or another page to this report so i can drag in my additional forms.

How do i separate out sub forms? Ideally I will want to have the main table on the top then the sub form in the middle, then the next on the bottom of the page.

Using A Form To Query/adjust Subform

First off, I'm really new to all this so I'm a little overwhelmed. I know what I want but may not describe it well.

I'm just trying to get a basic issue to work.

If I have 2 databases, one which has names, and another which has information - in memo form. What I'm trying to do is create a form which will allow me to bring up a persons name and have the subform query the information database for all information (events) which have this persons name listed inside.

I have tried both filters and queries and while I can get everything to work if I type in text in the queries in and/or filters if I try to use the value of the name in the main form nothing ever works...

I am trying to make the + - (numpad) adjust the date of the current text field. The problem I am having is I believe the input mask intercepts the keypress and my keypress event is never fired. Here is my code:

Is it possible to use find and replace to modify text in report design - or else is there something else I can do to get the same effect? I have a really useful report and I want to modify it for use with a different dataset. To do that I will need to change the text in over 150 text boxes. I have seven different fields which each occur over 20 times in the control source formulas in the text boxes, because they are used in different ways in different calculations. If this was excel I could do a simple find and replace to change e.g. every reference to fieldname OLD to fieldname NEW, but I cannot see how to do that within access report so am haveing to click on each text box in turn, go to properties and edit the text box .

I am trying to switch to a more general naming system in the modified report so then I will be able to assign data with the required fieldnames for the report within a query. But the report I am starting with has field names based on years 2013, 2014, 2015 etc.I want a quick way to change each reference to those field names to my more generic new field names.
