Reports :: How To Take Two Separate Queries To Create 2 Line Graph

Nov 21, 2014

I want to be able to take two separate queries to create a 2 line graph. Also to be able to spice the graphs up some. The ones I have done, single line, even seems dull.

Forms :: No Line Only Marker In Line Graph

Oct 18, 2014

I can change multiple things on a line graph with VBA.

Me.Graph47.chartType = GraphType ' take 65 for line
with me.graph47
.SeriesCollection(1).border.Color = vbblue ' change the line color
.SeriesCollection(1).border.Weight = LineWeight ' change the line weight to for example 3
.SeriesCollection(2).MarkerSize = MarkerWeight ' Change the marker weight, for example 4
.SeriesCollection(2).MarkerBackgroundColor = vbblue ' Change the marker color,
.SeriesCollection(2).axisgroup = 2 ' put this series on the secondary axis
end with

SeriesColection(1) is line with markers. This is correct.But now I want the seriescollection(2) without line, so only the markers. I cheched the MSDN site from Microsoft. The Excel trick with the macro does not work for me.how to hide the line with VBA for only SeriesCollection(2) in Access?

Reports :: Create A Graph (report) Based On A Query With Form Filters

Apr 25, 2014

I am trying to generate a report that is based off of a query. The query has a form filter that it needs to filter the data. I keep getting a jet engine error and couple others.

The form has year, start week, and end week on it. I can get the query to work fine. When I try to open the report, Access says it doesn't recognize the " [Forms]![frmUptimeFilter]![StartWeek] " as a valid field name or expression.

Queries :: Crosstab Query That Keeps Each Contract On One Line And Separate Fields For Each Contact

Jun 4, 2014

I have two tables, and I'm trying to create a crosstab query...I think. One table is Contracts, one is Contacts. Each contract could have multiple contacts, but they are numbered (1, 2, 3...etc.) based on importance. I want to create a query that keeps each contract on one line, and separate fields for each contact and each field of the contact. So a contact will have Title, First, Last, Address, etc. So I want my query to show as follows:

Code:
Contract-----Title1-----First1-----Title2-----First2
ContractX Mr. James Mrs. Sally

I of course need this to be dynamic, so if a contract has 9 contacts, there are fields up to Title9, First9, etc.

Reports :: How To Create A Separate Ribbon And Attach It To Report

Aug 30, 2013

I've created a custom ribbon and it works great however I want to create a separate ribbon and attach it to the report. On this particular ribbon, I'd like the export to excel, export to word and print functions to appear ONLY for reports. Not all reports will need to be exported; it depends what the user does. I've created this XML and I'm not receiving any error message. It loads as expected but my group is blank/empty. Still confused.

Reports :: Writing VB Code To Loop Through A List Box And Create Separate PDFs

Aug 19, 2015

I have a sales report that I generate each week based on a query, which relies on the input from a combo box on a form. This works great - but I have select each salesperson, one at a time and run their reports separately.

I'd like to have some code that will run through each person on the list, generate their report, create the PDF, and email (or save) the file.From my initial research, it appears I will need to utilize a List Box (vs a combo box), so I can select multiple salespersons for the report.

I've found a few examples of code to use...but a little lost on how to implement. I create a new form with a list box that queries the property table for the list. I then added a button to execute the code, and attempted to add this (with my control and reports names substituted). Getting all sorts of errors -- so not sure I'm on the correct path.

'Tested in Access 2003 with a Combo Box

Dim intCounter As Integer
Dim cboCode As ComboBox
Set cboCode = Me![ YourControl ]

Queries :: Create Separate Columns From Same Field And Table

Apr 9, 2013

I have 1 table that I duplicated to make 3 tables total. I did this b/c I am trying to create separate columns from the same field and table. The field is Workorder. Each workorder list the workorder number followed by a dash and then code. I am wanting to put all of the workorders with the same code in it's own column.

I have 5 codes that i am searching for. The first column list the workorder and a code (123456789-AD). The second column (123456789-BC). I'm good to this point but my problem occurs next.

The third column i am trying to put 3 types of workorder and it's code in the same column. As follows, (123456789-CD, 123456789-TC, and 123456789-PTC. However, when I do this it takes the results from the 3rd column and applies it to the 3rd column but also the 1st and 2nd column. I tried a UNION query and unless I am doing it incorrectly it does not work.

Line Graph Data Storage/input

Aug 24, 2006

hi all,

got a wee problem... i have a number of graphs showing volume (x axis) and pressure (y axis) for particular pipe sizes.... (it's for pneumatic conveying)

depending on the resolution of the hand drawn graph there could be 100's of points along a single graph line (x and y points)....

My program basically needs to select a point(x and y) closest to the graph line that it intersects. (come on mech. engineers)

Problem is how should i store / input the graphs into the db file?

I'm trying to avoid have to literally input every x 'n y point per line per graph... there are about 20 lines per graph and a 100 odd graphs!!!

I was thinking of inputing a start and end point then use some sort of formulae to draw a logical line and pick up all the xy points i need, then store them...

Any thoughts?
Thanks

Queries :: Remove GROUP BY Line And Stick Semicolon At End Of Previous Line

Jun 25, 2013

Here's the statement

Code:

sqlfinal = "SELECT Employees.ID, Employees.Name "
sqlfinal = sqlfinal & "FROM ((qryDeptVBA INNER JOIN qrySkillVBA ON qryDeptVBA.ID = qrySkillVBA.ID) "
sqlfinal = sqlfinal & "INNER JOIN Employees ON qryDeptVBA.ID = Employees.ID) "
sqlfinal = sqlfinal & "INNER JOIN qryAreaVBA ON Employees.ID = qryAreaVBA.EmpID "
sqlfinal = sqlfinal & "GROUP BY Employees.ID, Employees.Name;"

If i simply remove the GROUP BY line and stick the semicolon at the end of the previous line (.EmpID; ) it works just fine. How is adding a group by line causing an error?I tried adding another parenthes at the beginning ((( and ending the joins as EmpID); and that failed with the exact same error.

Modifying Access Graph To Create Bins

Nov 22, 2013

I have been struggling with modifying a graph that I have made into a counting graph, I have wasted over 4 hours trying to do this modification unsuccessfully.

I am attaching 4 pictures, The Depth_Ranges Table Visual is the query which creates graph 1 you can also see in the additional attached picture of the design view the code that creates this graph 1.

Now I need to add a field in the Design view of that query in order to have a result of the graph 2 that you see in the picture.

Basically, creating counter that will count how many values are in each bin labels that you can see on the picture of graph 2.

Reports :: Open Separate Reports For Each Record In Continuous Form

Aug 19, 2014

I have a continuous form that displays a list of invoices (frmInvoiceList) based on an adjustable filter contained within the form. I have the filters working the way that I want them through VBa and I have a button on each record to open a report (rptInvoice). Inside that report, I have some controls to "print", "email", and "export to PDF". Again all that works just the way I want. The Form and the Report are based on a different query and each has an InvoiceID field to link.

What I am trying to do is put the Print, Email, and Export buttons on the main form which would perform the appropriate action for all the records that are displayed on the form. I've been able to get the Print function to work to a degree. It will print all the records, but it changes the background colors based on the alternating records. When I go to Email or Export, it creates a single file with multiple pages and each page is a new record, again with the alternating background colors.

Ideally, I would like to have a separate file exported for each record that can be renamed and archived separately. I'm not so concerned with the email function but if it would be possible to generate a separate report for each invoice, then pull the appropriate email address for the record, that would be really nice.

I've tried some "for" and "do" loops that I found through some Googling but none of the samples ended up working like I wanted.

What I would like to happen is the same criteria that is being used to filter the report be used as criteria for a different (unfortunately) query that can then generate a graph in the report as well.how to get the criteria into the second query for the graph.

Reports :: Time Based Graph

May 30, 2015

I have the following query:

TRANSFORM Count([Copy of qryDailyCountOfValidations].Staff_Number) AS CountOfStaff_Number
SELECT [Copy of qryDailyCountOfValidations].PatternStartDate, [Copy of qryDailyCountOfValidations].[End Time]
FROM [Copy of qryDailyCountOfValidations]
GROUP BY [Copy of qryDailyCountOfValidations].PatternStartDate, [Copy of qryDailyCountOfValidations].[End Time]
PIVOT Format([Start Time],"Short Time");

it shows the number of employees that start a shift at a particular time and the time the shift ends, on any day.What i need to show on a graph is the count number of employees starting at x time and plotting the number of hours the employees are on shift until they leave or another employee starts....

-the y axis is the count of employees
-the x axis is the start time of their shift

10
9
8
7 xxxxxxxx
6 x x
5 x x
4 xxxxxxxx x
3 xxxxxxx x
2 xxxxxxxxxx
1
0
00:00 03:15 05:30.........................23:59

So the above mock up says 3 employees start at 00:00 and continue until 03:15 then another employee starts, then 4 employees continue 06:00, then 3 more employees start, 7 all together, then 5 employees leave later etc...

-the level of detail needed is to plot for every 15 minutes.
-The [end time] is not strictly needed, just included to show what columns i have available

achieving this on a graph on an access 2010 report..i have updated a test database so you can see what the data looks like.

Reports :: Hide Graph If There Is No Data

When I run the report on a Monday, only the Monday graph displays data and the other graphs are blank as there is no data for that day just yet. Is it possible to hide these graphs if there is no data? I did find one suggestion to create a text box with the following code

Code:
Private Sub Report()
If [SumOfWed] = 0 Then
Me.Graph24.Visible = False
Else
Me.Graph24.Visible = True
End If

This does't work for me.Graph24 is the name of Wednesdays graph and the row source for the graph is TRANSFORM Sum([Wed]) AS [SumOfWed] SELECT [Machine] FROM [qryShiftDays] GROUP BY [Machine] PIVOT [Shift];

Reports :: Graph Not Updating With Each New Group?

Jun 17, 2013

I currently have a report that generates information based upon a query. The report is broken down into 3 subgroups (Temperature --> Vzip --> VDD). The information within each subgroup seems to be correct as the report cascades through each grouping, however the graph does not update with the new information and instead just copies a clone of itself throughout each Temperature group in the report.

That being said, the first graph that is generated is correct for that group (Temp: -55)... but the report simply copies that graph into the next temperature categories.

I've attached a .pdf of a report generated to visually show what I am referring to, ** notice it replicates the same graph for each group **

Create A New Table Or Use Comma Separate Fields

Dec 27, 2007

All,

I have a quick question that could lead into a longer one.

First off, I am trying to associate tests with a course a student is enrolled in. Would it be better to add a column in the courses table and have a comma separated list of all tests associated with each course or would it be better to create a separate table that has a column for the course and another column for the associated test with that course?

If comma separated fields would be better, how would I handle that in forms? How does one parse that field?

Thanks!
