Dim g As Form
Set f = Forms!frmInputBox
Set g = Forms!frmCalendar
g("Text" & f!InputDay) = f!InputText & vbCrLf& & f!InputText2
e.g: InputText is 123, InputText2 is abc
I wanted to display the text inside textbox of frmCalendar as:
123
abc
instead of 123abc. how shall i use the vbCrLf?
Hey guys,
I searched the forums and couldnt find anything that directly related to my issue. What I am trying to do is export a fixed-width text file, but the issue is that the file has to be line feed only. By default Acces creates CR/LF and the client's import specification only allows for Line feed.
I am currently using a macro, with export specification, to create the file. Due to time constraints and other obligations, I am really trying to avoid VBA programming.
Thanks in advance,
Jahaines
I can not get a line graph inserted into a report by using the Wizard. I have 2 columns of paired data that I want to graph. I dragged the 2 columns to the "Data" control in the wizard and changed summarizing for both columns from "sum" to "none".
When I look at the report in Print Preview, the data points are stacked vertically in the center of the graph and the "Series" box displays what looks like the data. If I add a Date/Time column as the X-axis, I am told that I have to summarize the data, something I don't want to do.
I've made various selections using the wizard and all fail.
I have to count the number of occurrences of Line feed (vbLf) in a long string. The code I am using is:
MAX = TLine.Split(vbLf).Length - 1
It does not work.
I have a main report / subreport relation, just want to have a fixed length of each printout. e.g the total number of lines of the subreport should be 8 lines. However, lots of subreports contain records less than 8. I would like to know how to insert of blank line in the subreport depending on the records with content at each print, in order to make the total number of lines in each subreport is 8 each print!!

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am creating a database and need to produce a report that will form an itemised quotation.There can be up to 8 items on the quotation along with their associated costs to the customer. I am trying to make the "item" field dynamically expand if necessary when longer text is entered into it and then expand the corresponding "Totals" fields to match the new size.I have tried using the "Can Grow" property however for some reason the formatting does not cascade down to the fields below and the "Totals" fields remain the same size.
To try and explain better I have included a screen shot of the relevant part of the report and how it looks when printed. I should point out that the "QuotesQuote" box at the top of the screen is set to "Can Grow" and when that expands the boxes below automatically move to accommodate this.
I have a report that should print on labels ready to be stick on a book, but how can I tell the report to start from 3th row 2nd column so I do not waste any labels?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am currently working on a project that is almost complete, but my only problem is that I am clueless as to how I can get a text box in my report to hide base on if a text box in my form is hidden. Meaning that whenever this particular text box in my form is hidden then the text box on my report should be hidden too. how to get my form and report text boxes in sync with each other.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI am having a little difficulty with my importing in Access. Every time I import my text file, the lines will be jumbled. I have been reading up and I found this recordset code that seems to be what I need:
Code:
Dim strLine As String
Dim intLineNum As Integer
Dim MyDB As DAO.Database
Dim rst As DAO.Recordset
Open "C:TestTest.txt" For Input As #1
Set MyDB = CurrentDb
Set rst = MyDB.OpenRecordset("tblResults", dbOpenDynaset)
CurrentDb.Execute "DELETE * FROM tblResults", dbFailOnError 'Clear tblResults
[code]....
Basically, this code will extract data from the text file as long as it fulfills the Mid$ criteria. Here's where my problem comes. Each line in my text file is of different lengths and I have to capture the entire line.
I think using the Left$ function would work, but I don't know how to determine the character count such that the entire line of text would be inserted into the table.
Another difference between what I need and the code above is that, I am required to store each line into each row of my table, meaning
Line 1 is placed in Row 1 Column 1
Line 2 is placed in Row 2 Column 1
Line 3 is placed in Row 3 Column 1
.
.
.
Line X is placed in Row X Column 1.
I built an expression for the control source in Access 2007 report as follows:
=Sum([Weighted Value])/(Sum([CourseInfo.Credit])-Sum(IIf([StudentClassRecord].[Grade]="P",[CourseInfo].[Credit],0)))
This is to calculate the GPA. However, sometimes the denominator can become 0 and an error us returned. I would like to get "NA" in return instead.
All the field names are derived from table or query. I tried to aggregate the IIF function but ran into error message.
I would like to change the text formatting (color, italics, bold etc) of the contents of a control based on a boolean value in the underlying datasource of the report.
For instance, I have a report that generates a "Proforma Invoice" i would like to ability italicize the prices of certain items based based on a boolean value (EstimatedPrice) in the underlying datasource.
Hi,
I have a form which records computer faults reported by users. On this form there is a subform for comment tracking eg. Phoned user, Date/Time. On the next line would be; Informed user to do this, Date/Time and so on. I have a button on my form which I would like to use to automatically put in a line of data. It is an aknowlegde fault button. What it hopefully would do is when you click the button it will automatically put in the date/time in the subform, Then the word "acknowledged" in the comment field, then prompt for the user name ( for the username field).
I am not sure on how to start the command. If i were to do it in the same form then I would just put something like;
me.Date.Value = Date()
me.Comment.value = "Acknowledged"
me.Username.value = "[Prompt]"
As you can see I have two problems though;
1. The data has to be entered in a subform
2. My Prompt I dont think will work.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Kind Regards
Keith
I'm trying to set up a data import function as follows: The user fills out a form, generating an entry in the Orders table. After pushing a button, line item data will be imported from an excel spreadsheet. I've got most of this working- I have a temp table that gets cleared out and then populated from the excel spreadsheet which is then deleted, all working fine. My hangup is when I try and get the line item data out of the temp table. I need to append the Order unique ID from the textbox on the form to each line item. Here's the select statement part of the insert into:
SELECT Forms!frmOrder!OrderID AS OrderID, ItemsID, NumUsed
FROM tblTempOrder
This gets the line items fine, but puts an Ankh symbol as the OrderID for each line item.
I am busy with an database in Access Control. I want to insert a line between 2 certain lines. How can I do that.

I have set up a customer database for our small electronics company and i have built a form called contact history. In the form i show a few details about the customer (name phone number etc) but the bulk of the form is a large text box for a contact log.I would like to have a button on the form that takes me to the contact log field, inserts todays date and allows me to update whats been said to the customer etc. I have it working using setfocus and date functions however it erases any information already in the field. Is there a way to skip to the end of the field and insert a new line, then add the date and allow me to begin typing?I would like the end result to look like the following.
16/02/2013: Introduced Myself and the company, spoke to joe bloggs and agreed to call back on 28/02/2013.
28/02/2013: returned call to Joe Bloggs but was out of office, will call back 01/03/2013.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a data entry form with a memo control physically sized to match the allowable space for this information when printed on a report.
Basically, I need to be able to stop the user from further input when the cursor reaches the lower right corner of the memo control. Beeping when reaching the limit is acceptable, but a pop-up message would be ideal.
I have not been able to find a solution that will limit the amount of text displayed in the memo control that will also include however many LF's a user inputs. All of the search results refer to only limiting the number of characters and do not take into account LF's.
I am new to Access and would appreciate all suggestions.
I know you can use a "Conditional format" to change a color of a control in a report. What I am trying to do is change the whole line if a condition yields "True" of one control. I did it once before, but oops I didn't save my work. I am using the format [Entity]![IT]. Where "Entity" is either the department or vendor, and "IT" is for the IT department. I want the control "Name" to change color if "Entity" is true if "IT" is the data.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am creating a database that people can upload links to pictures within the database. (I do not want them to upload the pictures themselves because I am afraid the data will get to large - or am I misunderstanding how pictures are added to a database in access?) Now I want to be able to put those pictures in some reports.
Questions:
1) is it possible to insert a picture from a link (instead of an attached picture)?
2) If not would it work if I uploaded the picture to the database?
3) Am I incorrect about the way access deals with uploaded pictures? Does it just save a link or does it actually upload a picture into the database making it that much larger?
I am very experienced in Word and Excel but completely new to Access.
I have constructed an Access database containing a list of volunteers and the times at which they have volunteered.
The Reports I have written are very basic but function as intended. http://www.access-programmers.co.uk/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif
:)
However the lines of data on the Report print outs are spaced too widely. http://www.access-programmers.co.uk/forums/images/smilies/confused.gif
:confused:
How can I specify the line spacing?
According to the books and examples I should get multiple lines of text in my text box with...
messageBody = "Line one stuff" & Chr(10) & "next line stuff"
Forms!NotifyEmails!Text2 = messageBody
...but instead I get funny symbols where the line feed should be. But it works sending it to email.
Anyone shed any light on this behaviour?
