hey, i hav seen a similar thread about this (i think bout a year ago or so) and i didnt no whether to continue it or start a new thread.Option boxes - Making items visible that thread did not fully answer my question and after searchin around n finding nuthin i hav decided to ask
in my form i have the payment methods=> cash, cheque, credit. i did have these in a drop down menu, but i wasnt sure how to do what i wanted...which is based on the selection either make a couple of fields (credit card details etc) visible or invisible. so what i have done is changed the drop down list into an option group with radio buttons. i currently have this coding
this seems to work although say if my first record has credit card selected, then all the fields are visible, but wen i move onto the next record which is cash or cheque...they are still visible until i reselect cash or credit again..(and vice versa)
I have a query that's been working fine for years, however...the powers that be have requested a change. We need to track the lining owners in cars. We've recently gone to SQL on the back end (which I basically know NOTHING about) but I set up the new table, refreshed the connection, etc.
I can see the table fine and it says it has a primary key, auto numbers, etc. however, as you can see from the jpg below when I add the table to the query and link the id as in all the other tables, for some reason, this one makes all the data disappear when in datasheet view.If I delete the table from the query - it all comes back.
I have an image within the attachment field on a table. The particular table is not linked with the data within the report.I tried to use DLookup but found it only showed the picture name i.e. signature.png..How can I display an image (in fact the only image) in the attachement field on another table within the report?
In a report there is a text box that disappears if certain data appears in a record. It is supposed to disappear but I cannot determine why it is disappearing and I need to fix the criteria that make it disappear.
The text box is unbound (the control source is ="Bonus Point Legend"), and there is not any code that refers to it, nor are there any references to it in a query (I can delete the text box and the report runs just fine). Interestingly, if I add a new text box and use the paint brush to format it based off the one in question, it also disappears and acts just like the one in question. But I can't find any code that even references a generic control and makes it invisible. The tag field is not in use either.
I have a field SSEEndDate. I have some records in which this field is empty. What I would like to do is add a comment to explain why the field is empty on a report if possible. Click on it or move the mouse on it or whatever and the comment would show up.
Is there a simple way, or special event, that can be used to turn off the visibility of fields when they are in the detail or in a created header for a field?
I tried using the report's Load event, but this kept giving me errors. Are any of the events in the detail able to allow this?
I know everyone is going to say DONT PUT IMAGES IN YOUR DB< PUT LINKS TO THEM IN!
I am not at liberty to change the structure of what my boss wants, he wants the images stored in the DB so that is what I am giving him.
My problem is this: I have a single form for entering data into my Table, and I want to add a control that will let the User Browse for the right image, and them add that image chosen into the DB with maybe an upload button or something.
Now, if it is VERY VERY poor design to do it this way, and it is SOO much better to do the link to image way, if you could please detail how it works in both ways, I may be able to talk my boss into changing. My problem is I am not very good at this DB Designing and such, and have no experience using OLE type fields.
I have a query where data is first sorted by user input; first field's criteria: [fieldname], then by another field's criteria: Is Null.
I know there are records containing null values in the second field, as I have run a select query with the criteria: Like "*", to make sure they are null, and not zero-length-strings.
Is it possible to make it so that whatever the dimensions of the image i paste the OLE object's frame will also be the same? I'm having a problem, not necessarily a problem more like a preference, I'm inserting pictures of each individual inside a database and whomever last took these pictures didn't make sure there was a standard size So all the images are different sizes and when they're put inside the OLE frame you can see the image inside it but the frame itself also shows its white background because the image isn't the full dimensions of the frame. I was thinking if it's possible to make the frame automatically adjust to the image's width & height.
I have a table that has several fields that contain a date if a user is licenced to use a certain piece of equipment and is null if not. Each recor has other data in it such as name, and a unique identifier (numeric). What I want to do is make a list of the fields which have a date in them to create a licence for what they can operate. Any help on which way to go...pretty new at access.
I want my fields on the report to show up if there is data to show and to disappear if no data is avaliable. Also, will the fields format together or will they still stay apart? I need them closer together for the report.
Here we go.
In the report are months 1, 2 and 3 as well as the label box for each. I need the label box and the data(text box) to disappear when the data box is null. This is where I had started:
Private Sub GroupHeader1_Format(Cancel As Integer, FormatCount As Integer)
If Not IsNull(Me.Ctl1_Month) Then Me.Ctl1_Month.Visible = True Else Me.Ctl1_Month.Visible = False End If
End Sub
But when I try and run the report I get this error: Can't Execute Code in Design Mode.
Can someone help as to what I have done wrong or where I should place this type of format?
My printer does not have a "print mirror image" setting. Is there a way to create a report that would show on the screen as a mirror image?
The application here is that the informartion would be printed on iron-on material and then transferred to a t-shirt as a souvenir. Currently, I do a screen capture, crop and flip the image in Adobe and then print it, but I would like to set it up so that anyone could use the database without my intervention nor using a second application. Reducing steps users need to take is a must.
I have a report reading directly from a table. Table has a text field "txtOldState" where the field data a 10 digit number.
Also have a directory with .png files named with same 10 digit number. The txt field is on the report - I need to print the associated .png file on the report along with the 10 digit "txtOldState" field. I'm failing at pulling a png from the folder to print on report.
I am trying to have a macro button so when I click it it Emails to a particular person but also prints off a copy.it all works fine but for some reason it wont print the image off, my macro is as below
Once images / reports are printed they can be removed.
Should I have a page that shows maybe 40 images and a big print button? or 40 images with a selection box by each one and a big print button? or 40 images and 40 print buttons? etc
The reports will need to change in the future, so a option to select any or all of the reports would be a really good idea.
I have access 2013 but I much prefer 2003 as I know where all the buttons are!
