we are moving from Access 2003 to 2013 using Windows 8.1 64bits. We used Leban's code and library to create and merge pdfs. C
Creating pdfs can be done with built-in functionality in Access 2013. But I can't find a way of merging pdfs. I've tried Leban's Dlls files but I am getting run-time error: "File not found:StrStorage.dll" do I need to do something extra to make Leban's code work on Windows 8 64bits ?
Am using below code for generating set of pdf files in a desired folder..similarly I have another code, which generates another set of pdf file in another folder.. Count and Filename is identical in both the folders and I need to merge the file names with identical names together....separate binder file would also work..
Private Sub Command14_Click() Dim strDefaultPrinter As String strDefaultPrinter = Application.Printer.DeviceName Set Application.Printer = Application.Printers("Adobe PDF")
Having trouble using .JPG images in Access 2013 reports? I inserted some images (of arrows) onto a label report. Since then, I've had problems with my DB becoming corrupted or "unstable". I can give more detail if wanted, but my main question is do y'all recommend using images in reports and forms. If so, what format?
We have run into a problem with Access 2013 when trying to print reports. The program always crashes. Have updated printer driver for the HP LaserJet P2035.
I've developed and used over the past 20 years to handle my home finances. It includes several charts that were probably created back in Access 2003, which I used up until a couple of weeks ago when I subscribed to Office 365 Home and set up Office 2013, including Access. Most things worked without a hitch. In fact, all my old VBA code seems to run just fine.
However, the charts don't work. The right side of chart gets cut off way short of the margin both in print preview and report view. Everything else looks fine and the data is correct.
I've fiddled and fussed and fangled with zoom, clip and stretch. I've tried to resize the chart area - it just snaps back. I've tried everything I can think of based on 20 years of fussing with Access charts - which has always been a major pain - without success.
I have access 2013 windows 7, I'm trying to expand the record keeping on a database someone else designed. I've added the fields i need to the Recordsource(s) (the table, query, and working on the form as well) I can't make the report any larger it seems (its currently at 22") and i need to add another "page" worth of fields horizontally; is there a way to do that? and also to replicate the header and other key fields so they're on that 3rd page.
I have several reports that creates price sheets for all of my customers. It is a report with multiple subreports within, and I am trying to create a process to seperate them and export them all into [Customer Name].pdf. I have tried to scrap some code together from various forums, and it has been unsuccessful.
For example, one of the reports "rptPriceSheetQuarterly", has a field "txtCustomerName", that feeds the queries for the other subreports. I would like to create a new PDF when that field changes.
I understand I need some sort of looping code that will cut the report up dump them all into one folder, but I am totally out of my element here.
I have a report that has a group sort and page break after each area. What I'd like to do is export each area as it's own individual PDF report (preferably as an automated process).
I've created an accounts package for my business using access 2003 and I'm just thinking of some time saving features.
We need to email our invoices to our clients.
Normally we print out an invoice, scan it back into the computer, save as a PDF and attach to an email manually one by one.
My package can now print to PDF (saving one step), but what I would like is to be able to print to PDF and attach to a new email (with the email address coming from the customer table) and possibly attach more than one PDF to a single email.
I know you can use
Code: DoCmd.SendObject acReport, stDocName
to send a report but I would like it as a PDF as my formatiing is lost using that code and we normally send PDFs to our clients.
I have a sales report that I generate each week based on a query, which relies on the input from a combo box on a form. This works great - but I have select each salesperson, one at a time and run their reports separately.
I'd like to have some code that will run through each person on the list, generate their report, create the PDF, and email (or save) the file. From my initial research, it appears I will need to utilize a List Box (vs a combo box), so I can select multiple salespersons for the report.
I've found a few examples of code to use...but a little lost on how to implement. I create a new form with a list box that queries the property table for the list. I then added a button to execute the code, and attempted to add this (with my control and reports names substituted). Getting all sorts of errors -- so not sure I'm on the correct path.

I am trying to get an access report to save a pdf file, then with a control button create and e-mail and attach the email and send it. Has anyone coded anything like this?
The highlighting shows what records are duplicates. Those are the only records that need to change. Not every field of the record is a duplicate, and I don't want some of the fields that are duplicates to be combined.
If the result I want is not possible, or way too complicated for me is there a way to just have this: [URL] ....
Basically, I'm just getting rid of the sum within the merged record.
Note: I want this information to show up in a report. I put the information in the images into excel just to make it easier to show. Also, if you end up testing this yourself could you provide me with your Access document.
I am trying to Hide or Show the Access Window by using two buttons on a Form. Running Access 2013 in Windows 7 64bit.
I have used code from the Internet as below but added the PtrSafe item to the Function Declaration as below:-
Option Compare Database 'Hide Access desktop screen and float Forms on pc desktop Private Declare PtrSafe Function IsWindowVisible Lib "user32" (ByVal hwnd As Long) As Long
Dim dwReturn As Long Const SW_HIDE = 0
[Code] ....
I then have two buttons on a form coded as below:-
Option Compare Database Private Sub cmd_Hide_dbw_Click() Call fSetAccessWindow("Minimize", False, False) DoCmd.OpenForm "frm_Test", acNormal End Sub
[Code] .....
I have attached a Test Database which demonstrates the problem I am experiencing.
Do the following sequence...............
Open the Test Database. DO NOT ENABLE CONTENT The Access 'Ribbon'Test_Database.accdb is active and usable Open frm_Test in Design View in order to inspect, all should be as shown above. Now click the Enable Content warning Switch frm_Test to Form View
Click button Hide dbw. Closes the Access Window Click button Show dbw. Opens the Access Window...HOWEVER....
Attachment 20252The Access Ribbon is locked and usable !!!
I have created a database that is hosted on our company sharepoint. The database contains subcontracts with resource information by geographic location and status. I have built queries and added them as reports to the web app but I need to figure out a way to sum totals on the queries. For example, one report lists all resources of a particular type by 4 different zones and 3 different status. I need to have the bottom row show the total resources.
I have problem sharing an Access 2013 file from one cumputer and then change the data in the file on another computer, or i can change it but the change wont be made one both computers.
I'm working so i need my secretary to be able to change information or add, but i also need to get the change.
I am using mail merge to produce reports for lift inspections and it is all going well apart from the fields that are multi value do not quite transfer. For instance the "inspections completed" field has a list of the months Jan-Dec and therefore a visit may have been completed in Jan, Mar & Jul for example. In word the first two letter of the last month are transferred across followed by Chinese symbols.
Using MS Access 2013, part of Office 365, I am trying to construct a report that has a different first page footer than the rest of the document. Googling for answers has produced a few options, but none that seem to work. I have virtually no VBA knowledge. I was hoping that there might be some code that I could place in a label in the footer and have it work.
I have an Access 2013 database file with many fields. One of them, I'll call it Field 3, is a box which I would like to either leave blank or put a check mark in it. I would like to be able to create an Iif field for Field 3 where a check mark is automatically inserted in Field 3 IF Field 1 - Field 2 <or= 0, otherwise I'd like Field 3 to remain empty.
This table will have several entries for each employee. There will only be a few times that a comment will be entered. On my report, I will have a field for the comments and I would like ALL of the comments for each employee combined into one text box in the report There will be blank entries in most of the records). I think the control source for this might be a query, but not sure. I set the properties of the text box to can grow.
I am using mail merge to add info from my database to my word document template. I want to make it the same as my form I have set up which gives me a patient name, dob, GP details as head of main form then a subform (continuous) of their medication. When I try a mail merge it comes up right but only shows one medication on each page. I want it to add all their medications to the body and have the patient info in the heading. Do-able?
Access 2013 ... Is it possible to compact a database to a new name?
(In previous incarnations of Access I regularly 'compacted and repaired' databases to USB sticks rather than simply copy the file in the (mistaken??) belief that this was a more reliable approach)...
I made a new column in a table in access. The table is not linked and linking unfortunately is not an option. In the new column, I want to create a sum for 5 years of funding. There are multiple columns for a different fiscal year.
In excel, it is simply =sum(range), but I am drawing completely blank how to fill in the column with the sum data.
The end result is the data from 4 tables will be displayed in Forms and Reports.
Essentially what I need is an ability to bulk update a column in access table without a need to reupload the entire datasheet (over 100k rows with about 30 columns).
I am setting up a database using Access 2013, and am trying to test downloading files from Excel. For some reason it is not allowing me to have more then 4 columns in the excel file, it gives the error "Subscript out of range". I thought it was the type of variable at first, but when I tried deleting different columns on both files, the transfer always worked with 4 columns. How do I allow more columns to be transferred? Also, is there a way to not include the row numbers of the excel file as an ID column and only include the ID given in the first column?
So I have finished a database and split it which is great. Only issue now is how do I turn the front end into an executable so no access to any parts of the access program or system can happen? I have done this before in a very old version of access but how to do it in Access 2013.
