Reports :: Printing Lines Vertical And Horizontal In A Report Like Table In Word Document
Sep 12, 2013
I need to replicate an existing report that has a number of 3 columns across the page and has 35-40 rows down the page...it's like a table in Word or a spreadsheet in Excel. I need to print the column and row lines.
Is there a simple way to include these in the report other than me drawing each and every line?
I'm trying to add the information from a form and subforms to a report. This would be a medication mar sheet and needs to be in the format of the attached word document. I'm happy to do it in a report and change the formatting if that will work better. The personal info needs to go at the top and the medication needs to be listed on each sheet.
The form is called FrmMarSheet. It basically needs the info from that like the "sample mar sheet.doc". I can only get one medication per page to work at the moment.
I need to know if exist the system in Access 2007 to output a report in word document including images. Normally the output is "*.rtf", with a quite good quality but due to the file type it doesn't include the pictures.
Hi there, I got a little data transformation problem:
I have got a source table:
ID 1 2 3 1 x y z 2 xx yy zz
That I wanna transform to the following format:
ID ID2 Comment 1 1 x 1 2 y 1 3 z 2 1 xx etc...
The problem is, that I need a routine that takes the column names of table 1 and uses them as values in table 2. So basically, every column of table 1 (1,2,3, etc.) should become a new data record in table 2.
I have developed a database using Access 2010. This is split into a Front End and a Back End.
In the same folder as the Back End I store a number of user modifiable files in either bitmap (.bmp) or MS Word (.doc to retain compatibility with older versions).
Unfortunately, the drive letter where the back end resides will change from location to location and I can't do anything about that.
I have set up a function that returns the location of the folder where the docs reside irrespective of the back end drive location, and this works perfectly with OLE linked pictures but not with OLE linked Word documents. User changes show correctly in Word document changes at locations with the original drive assignment but other locations show only the original doc contents even though they have been changed on the local back end location. - even if I delete the Source Item info on the report!!
An example of the code I am using for the Source Item is <GetBackEndPath() & "Footer.doc"> without the angled brackets of course, where GetBackEndPath() is a global variable storing the location of the documents folder ending with a back slash.
I have tried the above in the reports Source Doc property but Access won't accept this and says it isn't valid for this property.
How can I change the Vertical Scroll bar color? I want to keep it for using, but the color is always grey color. How can I change the color of the scroll bar?
I have a Volunteer Database that has teams. There is only one team leader but some of the teams have two or three assistants. Currently I have a query that lists all the assistants for each team vertically. What I want to do is list the Assistants horizontally under headings like Assistant 1; Assistant 2; and Assistant 3 for each team on one line.
How to Creating a Three-Level Navigation Form, First and second level must be in horizontal orientation, third level desirable be to vertical orientation and dependent of level 2.
I have a form which I would like to enable scrollbars both horizontally and vertically (the main reason being, the application is designed for users with large / wide screens but may at some point be required on smaller screens)
Currently I have the scrollbars switched off and the form maximises but everything goes to pot if I resize the window. I'd like to add the scrollbars so if a user wants to resize the window to, say, half the screen, they can still scroll across to the 'hidden' parts of the form.
The problem with this is, if the form is maximised - or at least large enough to show the entire form - the area of the screen where the horizontal scrollbar resides is white (whereas the background colour of the form is a pale green) Which is quite unsightly.
I know I can remove the problem by removing the horizontal scrollbar and the navigation bar (which is already gone!) but then I can't scroll?
Is it possible to have a horizontal scrollbar but not have that white space at the bottom when the scrollbar is not required?
(Doesn't appear to be a problem with the vertical scrollbar?...)
I am having a problem with the formatting of a report. My boss would like for the report to show (grouped by employee name) a horizontal list like below and update itself.
Each training class has a category in the table showing which model(s) the training is. For OJT I got it to count up the tasks and tasks completed in each model and calculate the percentage. I can easily get it to show vertical for each employee. I cannot get it to show like above. I tried using IIF statements to pull the hours and OJT by model aircraft. If I try to put it in the detail section it shows vertical and if I put it in the group of employee name it only returns one record (I assume its still trying to show vertical). The only way I could think of to get it to show properly was a crosstab query but its my understanding those are for archival purposes or for a snapshot and do not update. This report will need to update as things are entered.
It's my 1st posting! Need help on how to get Unbound OLE objects (i.e. lines, pics, et.) reflected when publishing my Access report into MS Word. So far, only the data are exported. Appreciate your help.
System Info: Intel Celeron 700MHz, W98SE, MS Access 2002
I have a template letter in Word that I want to import into Access, so when I choose from a combo box an employee's ID, it automatically displays a report using the Word document template and filled with all related information of that employee (name, nationality, etc.) + it shows today's date. Then I can Save&Email to an Outlook contact.
How would I go about getting vertical lines as column seperators down the entire page. The problem I run into is every time the row size changes there's a break in the column dividers. Someone suggested using a function in the On Print event for the report, but there is no OnPrint field in the event tab of the reports properties. If anyone ever did anything like this before, please let me know.
I have a report that groups by a project name and then a repeating field to list all associated detail having to do with the project. Then the projects loop to the next. Each project row is the same height as the combined detail rows. And to be able to print guidelines just as you would with a word table.
This is what currently happens. +-------+-----------------+---------+ | Project.|.-detail row 1......| Open.....| +-------+-----------------+---------+ ............|.-detail row 2......| ............+-----------------+ ............|.- detail row 3......| ............+-----------------+
I'm thinking I need to do it with vba putting each into a variable then set the field to be the value of the variable. but i'm also not sure how to do that as it repeats like that.
I have a very simple database with one big table and a series of forms to walk researchers through data extraction from scholarly articles. Each researcher has a copy of the database and I export their info and merge it in a master file. One of my new researchers has just started and come across a problem I've never seen before. On her third record, access suddenly started replacing characters typed in (or selected from drop-down boxes) to the form fields with bold vertical lines, like this: ||||||On the table, they look like empty boxes instead of vertical lines. What she says happened was:-She was entering data into one of the forms (say form 4 of 7 - there are macros to open the new form when you finish the one you've been doing, but they only all close at the end of all 7 forms)-She saved-She looked at a PDF document on the same computer-She switched back to the database and several (but not all) of the characters on the form were replaced with the vertical lines. When she looked further, some fields on other forms (but not all the other forms) also had these vertical lines. Finally, one field had replaced the characters she'd typed not with vertical lines, but with some characters from another field. Is her copy of the db just corrupted? Is this some known bug? Can we avoid this? Thanks for any insight or referral.
how I get rid of the lines appearing in a report? I've set everything to transparent but the group header and subsequent records in the subreport all have separating lines.
I have a specific form, paper version, that I'd like to reproduce in an Access report. This form, which has 34 blank lines in the paper version, is used when people need to borrow some Tools or Equipment on a short period of time.
My report is made up in Access, but, if a person signs for, lets say, three different piece of Equipment, once it is sent to the printer, it prints three lines, which are the equipement signed for and it leave a big empty space before it reach the page footer.
What I need is something that will fill that empty space with blank lines. I found the following on the Net which meets my needs up to a point. What I mean is once it print the last line, it keeps on printing the last line until it meets the total count of 34 lines.
Here what I found on the Net: (note that I have a =count(*) into the Group Header)
Option Compare Database 'Use database order for string comparisons Option Explicit Global TotCount As Integer ' Call the SetCount() function from the group header section's ' OnPrint property using the syntax: =SetCount(Report)
[Code] ....
I submitted an attach file (blank_lines.gif) to show you what I end up with.
I have a report with one sub-report. It previews correctly and prints correctly from my ACCDB. However, when I create an ACCDE, the sub-report previews correctly and then does not print. I have tried the following and none work: In the main report, deleted the links and changed the subreports record source.
Changed layout for print to no Changed filter on empty matches to no
Moved everything from detail to page header. When I put code in the subreport to set a flag when loaded and queried that flag in the main report, the subreport never admitted to being loaded when run from the ACCDE (again works fine from the ACCDB).
I'd like to print out a report so that each record should be printed into an individual pdf file. When printing manually, record by record, I use an app called cuteprinter for converting reports into pdf. But that one needs saving path for each individual pdf file. What could I do if I'd like to make a series of record printing? Would there be a way of automatic generating path and file name for each record's print?
I have an application where I have some users in the field with tablets and they deliver a package and the receiver will sign for it (like UPS or FedEx essentially). They sign my application and then the application saves the signature to a SQL Database in binary data. I'm using the Microsoft InkPicture ActiveX control to achieve this. After they sign, I have a line of code that equals:
Me.RecBySignature = Me.RecBySig.Ink.Save
This works fine and I can also recall the signature to the form when the form is re-opened.how to do is to put the signature on a report. Is there a way to "draw" the signature on the report? Or to print it to the screen?
