View RepliesI would like to create a form that will show the users connected to the database. It would be kind of a tracker who opened the database to work on some cases. The form could show all users from the datbase from top to bottom and to the right a green or red round dot that she/he is active opened the database or not active (closed the database or did not open it still)
I was thinking that it could be applied when the main form opens and that form captures the login from windows into the "tracker" form.
I guess it will only work when the "tracker" form is first open. If the "tracker" form is open later, how to capture those logged in earlier?
Hi,
I found this database with an LOGIN sample.
This is working perfectly...(see example)
Now I want to accomplish this:
Based on the user that is logged in I want to generate reports.
Is there a way to recall the username or userID and link that to specific reports...
Allso I want to add an mail adress field in the userstable and based on the logged in user I want to hit a mail button and it will check the logged in user...
and mail the report to that specific user...
Can someone help me?
Thanks,
HY everyone!
I used the following script "GetCurrentUserName()" in access 2003 to get the username of the logged user. I’m using the following script "CurrentUser()" in access 97 but it always recognise any user as a admin.
Is there anyone that could tell me how to solve this please?
Thanks
In an network environment that requires users to log in, is there any way for Access to record a user who opens an Access application. The application has no security applied to it. The .ldb has the users listed, but can the .mdb put it into a list inside the .mdb?
View 3 Replies View RelatedContinuing with production of my database I've come across another wall that I'm trying to pass. My aim is when the user press the "Quit" button it will export everything to a file which is stored on Google Drive as google drive is installed on the laptops that will be using this database.
However the problem is Google drive is stored in the computer user files i.e C:UsersstudentGoogle Drive - is there a way to retrieve the name of the user that is logged into windows?
Code:
Private Declare Function GetUserName Lib "advapi32.dll" Alias "GetUserNameA" _
(ByVal IpBuffer As String, nSize As Long) As Long
Private Declare Function GetComputerName Lib "kernel32" Alias "GetComputerNameA" _
(ByVal lpBuffer As String, nSize As Long) As Long
Function ThisUserName() As String
Dim LngBufLen As Long
Dim strUser As String
[code]....
However cant get this to work - I think that is probably because i'm declaring this code in the wrong place - I've tried declaring the private functions in a class module and the functions in a module - however no success - How do you set this code up? Or is there a new way to do this?
Was trying to set the value of text to current date and time when a submit button is clicked. I've managed to set
Control Name:- txtLastLogin
Property:- Value
Value:- now()
The above expression works but the last logged data in tblEmployee gets replaced as another user logs in.
How can i add a time stamp to each user loged in.
Hi,
I have a sub, which shows in the Intermediate window who is currently logged to the database. This is my code:
Sub ShowUserRosterMultipleUsers()
Dim cn As New ADODB.Connection
Dim rs As New ADODB.Recordset
Dim i, j As Long
Set cn = CurrentProject.Connection
' The user roster is exposed as a provider-specific schema rowset
' in the Jet 4.0 OLE DB provider. You have to use a GUID to
' reference the schema, as provider-specific schemas are not
' listed in ADO's type library for schema rowsets
Set rs = cn.OpenSchema(adSchemaProviderSpecific, _
, "{947bb102-5d43-11d1-bdbf-00c04fb92675}")
'Output the list of all users in the current database.
Debug.Print rs.Fields(0).Name, "", rs.Fields(1).Name, _
"", rs.Fields(2).Name, rs.Fields(3).Name
While Not rs.EOF
Debug.Print rs.Fields(0), rs.Fields(1), _
rs.Fields(2), rs.Fields(3)
rs.MoveNext
Wend
End Sub
Now I want to provide this information in a table or other kind of output, when the administrative user presses a button on a form.
What do I have to do with that code? :confused:
Can Anybody help me with that? :)
Thanks in advance...

I am trying to print a report that shows a list of all the lapsed members. sounds like a simple simple report, BUT...I have a table that includes male and female members on one club number, idealy man and wife, but if for some reason the part company one may not pay the others subs those making the other a lapsed member. is there anyway i can print one part without the other?
E.g. this is haw it prints now
Male Name Paid Female Name Paid
J Smith No M Smith Yes
and this is what i am after
Male Name Paid Female Name Paid
M Smith Yes
I have a parameter query built and am curious if anyone knows of a good way to allow the user to define which fields are displayed in the query results.
i tried looking for other threads discussing this without any luck.. not sure if it was my search terms or what. thanks so much for any help..
I have an attendance database and I connect the time attendance machine db to my access db, what i am trying to do is to generate a report that shows the time in and time out for specific date. the type of attendance db is date/time.
Please see the attached screenshot db from attendance machine.
an also some time there is duplicate entry, I need to get the first and the last entry only for specific date.
I have a multi user database in Access 2000 that is on a server. The individual users have shortcuts pointing towards the server instance. One user and one user only when opening the shortcut gets the error "you do not have exclusive rights to the database" .
All other users can enter the database with no error box. I have checked the advanced setting under options and they are correct. Ironically if you go to start and open access then navigate to the database shortcut. It opens with no error.
I have a database of high-school football players, and I am looking to print out single page reports (or forms) that will show detail from several tables and queries. This will act as their resume when they visit schools on recruiting visits. The reason for needing query items, is that I have developed queries that return the most up to date height, weight, 40 time etc., and that single most up to date number is what should print, not the entire table. When I try to build a report it will let me bring in multiple tables, but not queries.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have tab controls, each of which holds a report. If the report is longer than the tab control the report is stuck there. no slide bars, no overflow. I have set scroll bars but they dont seem to take or work. I need to find a way to add verticle scroll bars to the reports within the tab controls so that you can view the entire report. I have included a screen print of what I mean.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create a report where I can use a section header as a hyperlink to show/hide detail, but only for that section. For example, my customer names are:
Code:
ABC Co.
ZYX Co.
123 Co.
If I click on ZYX Co., I want it to show the contracts for ONLY that customer:
Code:
ABC Co.
ZYX Co.
Contract 1
Contract 2
123 Co.
Right now, my code looks like this for On_Click:
Code:
If Me.Detail.Visible = False Then
Me.Detail.Visible = True
Else
Me.Detail.Visible = False
End If
But it shows and hides detail for ALL customers when I do this. Is there a way to only show/hide for the customer on which I click?
Hi,
Im using square bracketed parameters in my query designs for user prompts. Now I want a similar feature to tell the query what field I want it to show. Is there a way of doing this please? - or does the fact I need to do imply a db design flaw?
I am needing a fairly simple query to show records from a table that occurred between a set of dates specified by the user; I have quickly built the query using the wizard, however the date is stored as DateTime;
In the criteria, I tried - Between [Enter Start Date:] And [Enter End Date:] which returns an empty result (presumably because there are no records that match exactly, as they all have the time included?)
Is there a way to have the query show all results between the dates specified by the user, regardless of the time?
I was creating a program using ms access. consist of 2 table of database called employee and userlevel.. in employee table have ID, name, username, password,userlevel, and others related employee profile.. and in userlevel table, it consist of admin level and normal user level.. Userlevel table allow to differenciate admin and normal user(employee) .. in my program each employee having their own loginID and pass to access their own data.. the problem with my program now is displaying the data that belong to the logged in employee. its mean that it only show the data that owned by currently user that logged in..
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a AUCTION form, it has a combo box and the label for this combo box is called seller. This combo box is a look up to the USER table which has the following fields:
uid, uname, city, state
The combo box is pulling and displaying a drop down list of uname from the USER table, with this SQL state in the "row source".
Code:
SELECT user.uname FROM [user] ORDER BY user.uname;
In the control source of this combo box I have seller, and the form's record source is AUCTION, tagging on the AUCTION table.
The problem is the form is putting the uname into the AUCTION table's seller field, but I want it to input the uid field, however that it should still show the uname list when the user click on the combo box to make a selection.
I managed to count the performance of users. The only thing I need to do is to put the names of the users on the form (under different tab) so I can select them and they show their performance. The best would that they are showing up there in the form till I change the names. I use now a text field to write the name, but when I close the database and open, I need to add the name again.
If I could use somehow the names from the users stored in a table, that would be great.
Ok this might be basic stuff i'm a bit dumb
I have a query showing lots of records of equipment that is in different rooms. I would like to have a form where the user can bash in a room number and all the records from the query that have that room number in it pop up.
Please help the dumb
hi.. i have one table with fields 1-8
2 forms are used to fill in the details for each record using the primary key on each form.
eg
FORM1
jobid
date
day
time
price
FORM2
jobid
pickup
dropoff
vehicle
is there a way that on FORM1, i can indicate to my user whether or not any details have been entered into FORM2
maybe a colour system.. eg
if table.pickup and table.dropoff and table.vehicle are empty
form indicator on FORM1 is red (to show that none of the details on FORM2 have been entered)
else if table.pickup or table.dropoff or table.vehicle are not empty
form indicator on FORM1 is green (to show that atleast one of the fields on FORM2 has been entered)
it doesnt have to be a colour scheme, it can be wording.. eg
Form2 Empty, or Form2 Completed...
just some kind of sign to my user..
anyone ever tried or used something like this before?
I have an error database that I'm attempting to build. I need the results of the query to show User ID when there are no errors during a defined time frame.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have an access 2010 web database, modified from a microsoft template (Desktop inventory database) that several users will need to log in to. The database contains a table of products.
The challenge is, every user needs to only see a subset of these products and never see the whole list.
At the moment i have some code to modify an existing query based on the logged in user's details. As they log in, some tempvars are created and these are used to modify the query criteria.
This works well when the first user logs in, but the moment the next user logs in, the query is modified again and the product list refreshes and now his products are shown and not the first users! Im thinking i need to dynamically create a permanent query for each user on log in?
Here is my code so far:
Button on login form has the following code that collects the user's details
Code:
Private Sub cmdLoginMine_Click()
Dim ID as long, strEmpName as string,strZondsc as string,strgrpdsc as string
ID = DLookup("ID", "Employees", "Login='" & Me.txtUser.Value & "'")
strEmpName = DLookup("FullName", "Employees", "Login='" & Me.txtUser.Value & "'")
strgrpdsc = DLookup("MyGrpdscs", "Employees", "Login='" & Me.txtUser.Value & "'")
strzondsc = DLookup("MyZondscs", "Employees", "Login='" & Me.txtUser.Value & "'")
TempVars.Add "tmpEmployeeID", ID
TempVars.Add "tmpEmployeeName", txtUser.Value
I then call a function that modifies the existing query, populating it with this users details for the criteria
Code:
qryEdit strgrpdsc, strzondsc, ID
Sub qryEdit(strgrpdsc As String, strzondsc As String, ID As Long)
Dim qdf As DAO.QueryDef
Dim qdfOLD As String
Set qdf = CurrentDb.QueryDefs("InventoryQryforDS")
[Code] ....
The results of the query are shown on a form, which is what is currently requerying and showing the wrong data. The data is shown on a form, linked to one of the new style navigation buttons as shown.There cord source property of the form is the query that's populated as described above.
I have a form and I want show a message on the form when the it is locked as another user is editing the data in a particular record.
I know the record selectors show the records lock status but it a very tiny symbol which will mean nothing to the users of the database and anyway I don't want record selector bar on the form. How I would do this???
I want to show one ribbon for any user level.
Into attach file I use a UserTable to test different user/level.
I retrieve this error: Error 438"Object Doesn't Support This Property or Method" ...
