Reports :: Suppress Zeros In Report Fields And Display Blanks Instead
Apr 18, 2014
I've created a report which shows zeros in various columns where there aren't any values to report. I think the report would look better and be easier to read without these zeros. I would like to suppress them and display blanks instead. I'm not sure how to do this.
I have calculated fields on my tables and used zero values as default to show totals. But when I view my report, all the zeros appear. Don't want those zeros to appear on the report.
I have a command button that opens a report with a where filter. The report has a main section and a detail section. Its a Organisation and its Contacts. The Contacts are in the detail section. How can I suppress the detail section (and a label) if there is no records to show in the detail section?
I've got a report that is displaying addresses which are all identified as 'public' or 'private'. I want to be able to display the 'public addresses' and leave the 'private' addresses blank (but still show other fields.. phone no.s etc). The field that the data appears in is Address 1 (for both public or private), depending on what the data entry clerk has selected as the preferred address (ie public or private).I've been playing with the Iif function, but have not had any success...
Address Type: Private or Public Address1: Address details
I have a report that calls a subreport. In most instances, the subreport will have no data and I won't want to show the subreport. I've tried various ways to deal with this:
1) Make the subreport property on the main report the minimum height and set CanGrow = Yes 2) Use the Report_NoData event on the subreport and add the code 'Cancel = 1' 3) Make all the fields on the subreport the minimum height and set CanGrow = Yes
None of these seem to work. I don't have any headings on the subreport, so the only price I'm paying is adding a gap onto the main report the size of one detail line of the subreport. Still, it leaves the report lacking professional quality.
I have four fields in a Table. They are all four date fields. I want to do a query and see information in all four fields, but I only want to see the information if it is before a certain date. So far I have tried this:
<Date().
This works but it shows all four fields even if it is after this date. How can I suppress the fields to appear blank if the date is not before today's date?
We use an Access database to review multiple banking regulations on a sample of loans each month. I have reports set up to show the findings of different requirements. Each field is populated with a "Yes" "No" "N/A" or is left blank depending on the loan characteristics.
My queries pull regulatory errors if any of the fields = "No" and the reports show all regulatory requirements for that loan. For example, if the loan has real estate as collateral and no flood determination was ran prior to loan closing, they would select "No" from the combobox and it populates the field. All questions dealing with the flood laws populate on the report.
[U]If I want to show ONLY the fields that say "No" with the corresponding label, how do I get all fields that say "Yes" "N/A" or are blank to disappear, the corresponding lable to disappear, and the data to "shrink up" so there is not a lot of blank space?
I have a report that is linked to a query... lets say my query returns no records the report comes up with a whole bunch of #Errors on it. How do i prevent this from happening?
In a query, I'm using concatenation to join multiple address fields (organisation, building number, street address, etc) into one field. I'm also inserting line breaks to create a formatted address and then creating a form on the query so the formatted address appears in a text box and can be copied and pasted straight into my label-writer software to print address labels.
However, one problem with which I am now presented is where a field is blank. E.g. if one of my contacts is retired, then they don't have an organisation listed in the "Organisation" field. This means that a blank line is left between their name and the rest of the address.
When running a mailmerge there is the option of skipping blank fields so that a blank line is not inserted in such cases.
I want to combine six different memo fields into one. I found this code and it works to combine two fields so I edited to add a third and it does not do anything.
I've got a report/invoice that i want to print out with a simple header picture for the company. For reasons i cannot fathom the picture will not print. Print preview, Report view, print as PDF, XPS and even copy to a word doc all display the picture, but when i send it to any printer the header does not show.I have checked every setting i can find.
Visible = Yes Display when = Always deleted, save and closed, re-inputted, still nothing. compact and repair after delete re-input after compact, still nothing. Added the file to local directory, still not showing
I can even add a border around the picture which it will print but not the image itself.I've tried .png .jpg and .jpeg file types (Same image its just a logo).
I have monthly reports developed from various query's and what I want to do is have a single report that I can display my monthly totals from each monthly report without developing a whole new report. I want to use the existing totals from the monthlies and have them all on one report. Can anyone help me? Jaxfire
I have a Customer table that has a field "PostalCode" that is numerical an is connected to a field called PostalID in a table called PostalCode and has the actual postal code stored in a field call Pcode.
I have everything working ok as far as displaying the correct Pcode on the various forms. eg: is the PostalID is 10, I want the form to display the Pcode of 2000.
I can't figure out how to display the Pcode in a report.....
Picture datatype is Attachment and it is multi-valued field so I created a query to extract picture per ProjectID and to be used as a Subreport. Query results shown below:
Now, I have created the sub report and linked it Project table. Result is the pictures add up vertically or downward where there is a big space on the right side, I want to have it from left to right or horizontally.
Can I display the weekday in a label on a report? If so, how? The record source for the report has a variable "StartDate" and I want to show the day of the week (Monday, Tuesday, etc) of this date in a label.
I am having trouble getting all columns in an Access 2007 report to show up in report view as well as to print. It seems like this is mostly occurring in columns that occupy the center of the report.
How do I pull information from a subform (more than 1 record in subform at times) to put on my report?
I have added the subform to the report and set Visible property to No,
I know the syntax to refer to the subform and its fields but I don't understand how to get all records in the subform for the main record to be displayed.
I have an autonumber field (CarNo). This field is to be displayed as a 5 digit number on the form, ie: 1 is to display as 00001. I know I have done this before (I only use Access once a year or so, so the mind is not fresh on this) I can use a text box on the form because the user can't change the field, but how to display the autonumber as a 5 digit number, including leading zeros. I found the code of Format(FieldName, "00000"), but don't remember where to put it.
I have an access report that there is One column among 9 of them, refuse to give answer.. Its suppose to Sum all the total of each line in the column. See Attachment. This report is group by ID and sort by Shift. The formula is: Sum([Rates]), and the Rate is list in Details Report where the Sum ([Rates]) is located in Id Footer section.
FYI, when I ran this report, it does not know what the Rate is. However, the rate is the formula which listed accordingly in the report details.
I have an odd thing happening with my reports. There is a main report that gives class information (from query). There are two subreports (from queries also ) with scores (one for each type of test). There are some unbound controls on the main form that display a count of how many scores are recorded which are totals from the subreports. The controls all report the correct numbers however, when I scroll down to view each record, some of them change to #error, or #name, or similar for a moment. Sometimes they will stay in error form when I stop scrolling but change to correct if I scroll up just a bit. Is this because the controls won't calculate unless that report record has focus?
