Reports :: Total Field Contents Not Visible Until Click On It?
Oct 2, 2013
Imagine that you see a column of values and then a total at the bottom. The only issue is that the total value does not appear until you click on it.
Any setting that would cause a total value in a footer section to not appear automatically?
Behavior is noticed on reports as well as subreports. An image is attached.. Imagine the $37,000,000 simply not appearing until it is clicked with the mouse.
How do I make the 'total rows' in query permanently visible? Right now, every single time when I click on to my query, I will have to go to HOME---> RECORDS ---> TOTALS then the Total row will appear. And when I export that query, the TOTAL ROW is missing. how to make the total rows visible always?
I have a report (Access 2007) with multiple totals and subtotals. However, one field, whenever I click "show Grand Total," always shows up all akimbo (out of line with the other grand totals), unbound and without the nifty little blue "grand total bar" above it.
Hi, I'm making a form where the contents of a field is determined on the contents of another field in another form. I thought an IIF function would work, but when I tried it the contents says #NAME.
I am creating a report which is about 200 pages and would like to add a table of contents for each category i have with page numbers, however i have googled and tried many different things but to no avail and what it the correct way or even showing me on a sample database.
I created a report that would generate, among others, a listbox on monthly payments. How do I make it spill-over to the next page when its contents have already exceeded that of a single paper?
If it possible to change if a group is visible based on what page a different group is printed on.
The report I'm working on is a Invoice and it has subtotals in one group and totals in another group.
If the totals are going to print on page 1 then there is no need to print the subtotals. Is there a way to know what page the totals will print on so I can set visible for subtotal group to true or false?
I have a series of reports that are built to replicate the order forms of our suppliers. On each I have a text box for Air Freight that I only want visible when the airfreight ID is ticked.
I have this working fine using an if statement on the Load Event of the reports. However when I use the OutputTo command in VBA it seems to bypass the Load Event. Any event that is triggered using OutputTo.
I have also tried setting the .visible in VBA but can't get the coding to work as I am using a variable report name depending on the SupplierName and when I try to use the Reports! nomenclature it will not accept the Report name being a variable (ie. Reports!ReportName![Airfreight].Visible where ReportName is a variable).
I'm running Access 2003 and my question relates to delivery notes that are produced for drivers as reports. These delivery notes have a blank payment box for the driver to complete if the customer pays upon delivery.
As more and more customers are prepaying by credit cards, I'd like this payment box to be automatically filled with a "PAID" text which will let the driver know the order has already been paid for.
The delivery note is produced from an "Orders" table which has a "Paid" field whose value is automatically set to "Yes" when the order has been paid for.
I was hoping to be able to place a "PAID" label on the report which is only visible when the Paid field of the underlying query is Yes.
As things are at the moment I cannot see any way to put any conditional statement onto this Text/Label. The only options for the "Is Visible" property of the text are Yes or No.
I have a form with a Yes/No checkbox. Sometimes a data entry person will use this, sometimes an associated report is printed and a technician in the field will be required to fill check the box by hand and return the report for data entry. what I have tried to format the check box, if the box isn't already checked, I can't get it to show up clearly on the printed report. It's set to Visible, width 6pt, solid, black, always display, yet it still is barely visible. Ive tried increasing the grid line thicknesses, making it shadowed, nothing seems to work. Is there anything I can do?
I have a report that displays on a continuous style report. What courses the employee have been on and when they expire
right I have field call expirydate and another call dayover showing the number of days till that course has expired also I have made a label called Expired1
now what I'm trying to do.....
if the expirydate has passed I want the expired1 label to be visible and dayover field to become invisible
I have tried
Code: Private Sub Detail_Format(Cancel As Integer, FormatCount As Integer) If Me.Expirydate < Date Then Me.expired1.Visible = True Me.DaysOver.Visible = False End If If Me.Expirydate > Date Then Me.expired1.Value = False Me.DaysOver.Value = True End If
I have also tried the code on current event on the report
now my problem if one of the course has expired it will show the label called Expired1 but on all the records but I only want it to display on the record that has expired and leave the daysover text box visible if course has not expired
I've accomplished some simpler things like hiding fields based on the data in another field but nothing very complex. To the point: I have a report that shows data in both rows and columns, the report has a 7 columns, 3 of which could or could not contain data other than zero, in which case the column is not displayed. The problem I have is that it could be any of those three at any given time depending on what data is available for that report and what the user wants to see. Basically, if a given company has no data regarding column "A", then column A is hidden, but the main grouping is done through rows so all companies contain at least 0 for all columns (what I did is that, if a field sums the whole column returns 0, then the column is not visible). What I need to get working is the second part of this, have the columns rearrange themselves depending on which column is hidden (it could be that all 3 are hidden). How could I make this work? (btw, autoshrink is not usefull for this since it only shrinks vertically, not horizontally).
I have 2 tables on one report, 1 is visible, the other visible = no, Is there a way to make that visible = yes when you reach a certain count (60days)...
I am trying create some code that checks if the contents of the status field in a table is "Authorised" where the ID = something specific for multiple records. If all records witht the specific ID are "Authorised" Then generate a new record in another table. Where to start, perhaps a Dlookup?
I am trying to perform a search function query in access but am having trouble. I have two tables. One table has a column in which I need to search the contents of this field by referencing data in another field/table. I am able to write the query searching the data manually (not referencing the other table) but can't seem to get the query right when referencing the other table!
this query works = SELECT * FROM Sample_Data WHERE (((Sample_Data.[Affected_Frequencies]) Like "*451.425*" Or (Sample_Data.[Affected_Frequencies]) Like "*451.400*"));
but, i put together a frequency table (Table name = Frequencies) and the column within that I am searching for is called Frequency. im trying to reference Frequencies.Frequency using a LIKE statement.
My student is doing a project on question paper generation in which he selects questions from each lesson needed and also some of these questions have images associated with them. So, if these questions are selected, the image control in the report displays it.
If there is no image, the space for the control is left in tact. I tried changing the visible property for the image control in the Detail_Format event procedure. But this code is not reached at all and the space is still left. I am not storing the image directly in the field but its path in a text field.
I want that the space occupied by the image control removed. I tried the suppression thing but obviously it did not work.
I have stumbled across an issue in my report involving the Report.SourceObject property. The section of the report contains a subreport that needs to change dynamically to display the report that relates to the corresponding test. When trying to change the subreports.Sourceobject property I get the error Run-time error 2191: You cant set the Source Object Property in the print preview or after printing has started. This is very clear to me what the limitation is, however I was wondering if there was some way around this.
I have currently tried creating multiple subreports that are stacked on each other with visible property set to false. Then I change the specific subreport visible property base of a select. This worked, but was extremely hard on the machine and printer as there is about 15 different possible subreports.
Secondly I have tried exporting it to RTF and just manually copying and pasting the tables. The down side with this is all the formatting and work I have put into the report as a whole goes out the window so if possible would like to avoid this situation as well.
I have a database that I use for keeping track of clients and printing invoices using a form/sub-form and report/sub-report. I want an image to be visible on my sub-report when I choose Received Payment in my sub-form. Right now I have my image set to visible = no.
Is there a way to make the value of one field change dynamically based on the values in other fields on the form?
Here's the general idea. I have two tables.
RecordTable -------------- SiteID, etc.
SiteTable ------------- SiteID, SiteBlurb
I want have a form, where you can change the SiteID value in RecordTable, and have the SiteBlurb change (i.e. the form pulls the information from SiteTable) dynamically once you have entered the new value.
is there an alternative to making a field blank, other than my old trusty <Me.Field1 =""> ... ?
(my use of the < and > are purely for demonstration purposes, and do NOT get used in code)
I'd like some fields to be native, virgin, blank, et cetera... I do find sometimes I have to overly complicate a VBA statement by putting.. <If IsNull(Me.Field1) or Me.Field1 = "" then> because I have made that field value = "" to blank it out.
I have a combobox on my form called TypeOfBusiness, with fields including Corporation, Education, Industry, Non-Profit. In order to make a second combobox called IndustryClassification appear when Industry is selected from the TypeOfBusiness combobox, I have used the following code:
Code: Private Sub Form_Current() If Me.TypeOfBusiness = "Industry" Then Me.IndustryClassification.Visible = True Else Me.IndustryClassification.Visible = False
[Code] .....
It works just fine. However, when a user selects both, say, Industry and Education, the IndustryClassification combobox will not appear. What code I can use to ensure the IndustryClassification box will appear regardless if another box is checked in addition to Industry? I am wondering if it has to do with the Column attribute.
