Reports :: Updating Report Based On Crosstab Query

I've got a self updating crosstab query, its essentially a monthly summary and every month a new column is added (one corresponding to the current month, i.e., next month the new column will be may, following that the new one will be june, etc)
I've designed a report to be based on this query and i tested it out by manually adding data for next month into a table, the query auto updated however the report remained the same (ended in april instead of adding a new column for may).
Just curious if there is a way to automatically add these new columns to the report every month or will i have to do so manually?

I made a report with following crosstab query.
TRANSFORM Workersdetail.workername AS CountOfedate
SELECT Workersdetail.[attendance], Count(Workersdetail.[edate]) AS [Total Of edate]
FROM Workersdetail
GROUP BY Workersdetail.[Workername], Workersdetail.[attendance], Workersdetail.[workerhourenter]
PIVOT site+Cstr([workerhourenter])
I wanted to know that, is there any option through which my report gets autoupdate or refresh incase of addition in SITE field (as mentioned with PIVOT)?

I want to be able to run a report based off my "Allot_Q" query. I have a button to perform the report but would like the button to update the query and run my report based on my selection text boxes. Right now I have one button the runs the query based on the selection and then another button to run the report. My boss wants one button to pull the report based on the selection.

I have a crosstab Query as the source for my report, of course the issue is the column headings on the report. I have Purchasers as a row heading, Year as a row heading, Month/Year as a row heading, Meter as a column heading, PaidMCF as Value and, a total as a Row heading. My issue is feeding the column headings on my report with the meter names.
Purchaser 1 has 23 meters attached
Purchaser 2 has 1 meter attached
Purchaser 3 has 6 meters attached
Purchaser 4 has 2 meters attached
Purchaser 5 has 16 meters attached
Purchaser 6 has 11 meters attached.

Hi all, I am utterly unsure if what I want to do is even possible:
I have two crosstab queries, qryRewCOCredit and qryWrapCOCredit which show the changeover (CO) times for the specified machine when they are NOT zero. (all zero entries don't show up).
There are many cases when there is a CO for the Rewinder on a specific day, but not for the Wrapper, and vice versa.
I want to make another crosstab query which performs a calculation. To keep it simple:
If (RewCOCredit>WrapCOCredit) Then
5-RewCOCredit
Else 'WrapCOCredit>RewCOCredit
5-WrapCOCredit
Please help!!!

I've made a crosstab query and would like to use it to create a subreport. In the column headers I have names of courses. Courses can be added or removed. How can I make a crosstab report with dynamic columns?

I have a report that is based on nested (I think thats the phrase) query's.
Complicated Query based on another query (so I can't see a way to get at the the source SQL to change or use elsewhere)
This gives a list of say 20 records I generally want printed. I use the exact same query criteria with a separate update query to add the same to a table.
However I then wanted to just pick one with exact matching ID's I select on a form.
I could not see an easy way to apply this without making another set of nested querys which seems a little excessive
Anyway, an easy way for the printed report to do this is a simple filter added after, works great.
I can't see a way to do the same for an update query.
I was wondering if I could get the record source of this report and add to my table. I have tried with

I have DB in access 2007. I have a report that is uses a select query to generate the information for the report. It has been working great, But however lately like maybe with in the last month, it has been causeing Access 2007 to crash. I am having the same issue with another DB that uses the same information but that information is imported in. both Databases have worked great up until two months ago. Microsoft states that it is because of the program. I have tried to repair the DB by using the Repair option. I am confused as to why this would be happening. I can create a new report and it seems to work. but I do not want to change all the DB on everyone's computer just for this reason. I also have two buttons on my report that utilize macros to close or print the report.

I am trying to generate a report that is based off of a query. The query has a form filter that it needs to filter the data. I keep getting a jet engine error and couple others.
The form has year, start week, and end week on it. I can get the query to work fine. When I try to open the report, Access says it doesn't recognize the " [Forms]![frmUptimeFilter]![StartWeek] " as a valid field name or expression.

My report produces multiple copies of the same record. I know why, but don't know how to fix it.
EmployeeTable.
With a one to many relationship with TrainingTable (via employee PK as FK in trainingtable).
Training table has a one to many relationship with a table called Range.
Report is based on a query that picks up the Employee/Training/Range (range just describes the training unit).
However, If I have more than one range expressed organized a training unit, the report spits out several copies of the Employee record to display all the ranges.

I have searched and searched for a thread before posting this, there are some discussions on related issues, but I could not find a solution. This is my problem:
I have a table with Incident_Type (a total of 6 selections from a combo-box), Incident_date, Incident_SubArea(25 selections from a combo-box), a check box for IsStaff_reported and all these are recorded by Incident_ID.
I have created a monthly report based on a parameter query that prompts for start and end dates using a custom form for incidents.
Now I need parameter (again start and end dates) cross-tab queries for number of incidents (i.e. count of Incident_ID) that are 1. IsStaff_reported, and 2. Not IsStaff_reported. to show up in a single report.
I dont know if that is too much to ask for or is there a simple way to accomplish this. Any help is appreciated.

Hi,
I wish to use the results of a crosstab query in another query which will make table. The trouble is the field names are not always the same in the crosstab.
The results are coming from a normalised table so if there are no records for a particular field then that field will no appear in the crosstab.
I need to make my 'make table query' (qryTabletImport_CollarMakeStaging) account for the missing fields names when it tries to make the new table. Since I have made the make table query with all availble field names I get this error when some are not present.
<the jet engine doesnot recognise 'qryTabletImport_CollarConvert.Hours' as a field name or expression>
(because the field Hours doesn't have any data in the normalised table)
make table query - qryTabletImport_CollarMakeStaging
Crosstab query - qryTabletImport_CollarConvert
normalised table - tblTablet_HOLEDETAILS
Hope this makes some sense to someone.
I am ok with vb so am willing to go that way but getting my head around which way start is another issue

I am trying to help someone with a complex problem (so it seems to me) but I will first ask about what should be a simple thing....
First goal: to COUNT the number of times a TYPE of visit is made.
There are several different TYPEs but only interested in tracking 2 of them.
When a crosstab query is created - if one of the 2 parameters are not "met", a blank is returned. I have been reading posts about using NZ and IIf IsNull, etc to get past that - but none of them make any sense to me and the Access help suggestions do not work. Hope someone can make it clear with this information: (can't give more specifics to keep privacy intact)
The SQL was written by Access not by me. :)
Here is an example of the Crosstab SQL (which is using a previous query):

Hey everyone!
I need some help here, I am in the final design stages of my database… I am working on creating some reports and I need some help getting the info I need in the right place. Let me summarize the problem, then I will give you a rundown of my table structure and what I need to do, finally explain how far I am at this point.
I need to create, a complex query for use of a report I am creating. Here is a summary of what info the final query needs to include:

Now, each BusinessType has several associated BusinessCategories (3-8)… all of the businesses use that set of categories to create a unique set of categories along with a value and a year. So, all businesses with a common businessType will have a common set of categories and values, and will have a set for each year
Additionally each business within a businessType is ranked by those categories for each year. (I am currently setting the business rank by year manually, though I will eventually create a module to do it for me.)

I have a query named QallBusinesses which contains all tblBusiness linked to tblBusinessCategory.
Then I have a Cross Tab Query named CTQGolfCourses (for instance) that limits the year and business type which gives me the below results
BusType / BusName / BusPhone / etc. / Cat1 / Cat2 / Cat3 / etc
This is great… it is almost finished… Now, I need the list to include the current year and previous year rank (lets say 2006, 2005 respectively) and sort the list of businesses according to the current year rank… (in case of rank ties sorting by business name) to end of with this:
CurrentRank / LastYrRank / BusType / BusName / BusPhone / etc. / Cat1 / Cat2 / Cat3 / etc.
That is where I get stuck! Can I create a nested Crosstab?
I have tried to create a query using CTOGolfCourses and tblRank linking BusinessID then crosstab that query to get the results I want, however it just ends up creating a records for each business type to have every available rank with every available year, so when I crosstab it, it ranks all the businesses as #1 for both years.
If I can lay this out manually, I know that I can code this using VBA to generate the exact reports I need, using the varying criteria, however I cannot quite get the results I need manually.

This is a query, report and vba question. I'm using Ms Access 2007.
TABLE 1: projectname, activityname, totalhoursworked, employeename
TABLE 2: employeename, employeelevel
TABLE 3: employeelevel, rate
I created a select query to join the info that I need.
SELECT QUERY 1: projectname, activityname, employeename, totalhoursworked, rate, cost (calculated field (totalhoursworked*rate))
I have 2 crosstab queries.
CROSSTAB QRY 1: ROW (projectname, activityname) COLUMN (employeename) VALUE (totalhoursworked (summed))
CROSSTAB QRY 2: ROW (projectname, activityname) COLUMN (employeename) VALUE (cost (summed))
I then created a 2nd select query with inner joins to join both crosstab queries on similar fields (activity & projectname).
SELECT QUERY 2: projectname, activityname, employeename (totalhoursworked as value), employeename (calculatedcost as value)
It gives me this:
However, I want it like this:
Those employeename... refers to more employees being added after a period of time. Hence I want to know if I could use vba to generate a report every time a button is pressed on a form? I know how to link the form to the query.

I have a list of sites (approx 15,000) that I need to update.
Basically, against each site we store a region code (HR1 - HR7) and we have decided to increase the number of regions we operate with. I have created a spreadsheet that states the post codes included in each new region (NR) and now I want to create a query that looks at the post code of the site, then according to my spreadsheet, changes it to the new region. There are no new sites to be added, simply old ones to be updated.
How can I do this easily?
I have imported my spreadhseet into access, and I have all the data there - just unsure of the query to update.....

I am in the learning phase for MS Access reports. I have a datasheet which contains the employee daily activities.I need a report when either or both criteria is selected. For ex..criteria1 is Start date and End Date and criteria2 is Employee Name.Output of the report should be based on the selection of the criteria ,as I said either or both.

I am trying to get a report based on a selection from a combo box. The issue is many fold. Firstly I have been playing around with it so much that I have messed up the syntax and can't remember what I had. Here is what I have at the moment (this is based on a button):
DoCmd.OpenReport "RepClassrooms", acViewPreview, , " Class = '" & Me.cmboRepClass & "'"
The second issue is that it isn't filtering on the combobox - it gives all the data from the database based on all the entries in the combobox but this is probably down to the syntax again.

I have a database which have tbl1 with field admission year with data like august/2007, august/2008. i have entered all data with form1. My problem is that i want filter report. user click a button so a form opened and than he entered data in a text box like august/2007 when he click on show report button only those pages which have august/2007 text will display in report. second time when user change text like august/2008 in text box report also show changes.
