More a spreadsheet type report that I can then print out.
The database is to track and evaluate call center associate phone calls. I created yes/no fields for multiple common errors (accurate/complete, Security, and client experience. and under each are @ 20 common errors)
(the problem is that I did not create a seperate table for each main category which I think might have made things easier)
Now what I am trying to do is create a report that allows me to show (or select) an error and have it show all the associates that had that error in a given time frame.
I already have a report to show all associates and all the errors that each had in a certain time frame. (so vertically I have associate detail and horizontal I have error detail).
is there a way, without creating 25 separate reports, to show all associates under an error type?
In my report, I have combo boxes that display numbers (for example min_revenue and max_revenue).
In case of a "0" or "999.999", I would like to display "n/a" within the combo-boxes.
I would like to avoid doing this within the table, because I would like to keep the data type in number format.
Remark: I confused "combo-box" with "text box". I'm using text boxes, which are supplied with values from a table

So after finishing my database with mail merges I found out that I identified a few fields as number fields but these fields may contain numbers that start with 0 and I need to preserve that.
I believe the right step is to make those fields text fields. This preserves my 0 for me but gives me other problems. My question is if that is the only way to retain the lead 0 in the data?
If it is then my problem then becomes a mail merge problem.
I am mail merging to a specific form and need the data to fit into specific boxes but I am unable to format the text with a switch. I can format the data when it is a number by using /# ### ## ####. This works just fine for me
but I am unable to format it when it is text with a switch. I basically need to put spaces in between the text fields so i can make it fit so instead of 012345678, I need it look like 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 in the word document.
I cant seem to fins anything on formatting text switches for spacing.

I have a database that has the table [tblAttachments] to store various attachments. In this table I have a primary key [ItemNumber] and an attachment data type field. This table holds all attachments for a Customer/Record.
What i am trying to accomplish is being able to code a command button to send the Attachment file (eg. various type of files .doc; .exl; .jpg etc) as an attachment in an email.
I have found some info on saving them to the local harddrive but this is not going to work for my specific needs.
I imported a big table from excel with many columns. Access when I brought it in determined that they should be "text" format. I don't want to sit and change each field to a "number-double". Is there a way to quickly change data type for multiple fields at once?

I would have expected the data type for my unique identifier, especially in the main table, to be Autonumber. However, I discovered with some surprise that the primary key (ID) in
Table 1 (Main table) is data type: number, field size: double
whereas in table 2 and table 3 the ID is data type: autonumber (field size: long integer)
It must have happend "SOMEHOW" when I divided the original single table.
Is this as it should be? Or could it lead to trouble later on?
If not as should be, is there anything I can do right now to rectify the situation with risking upsetting the relationships and all?
What precautions should I take, apart from taking a backup?

I have an odd thing happening with my reports. There is a main report that gives class information (from query). There are two subreports (from queries also ) with scores (one for each type of test). There are some unbound controls on the main form that display a count of how many scores are recorded which are totals from the subreports. The controls all report the correct numbers however, when I scroll down to view each record, some of them change to #error, or #name, or similar for a moment. Sometimes they will stay in error form when I stop scrolling but change to correct if I scroll up just a bit. Is this because the controls won't calculate unless that report record has focus?

It creates a LIST of values for that cell.When I query a particular value in this table I get every possible combination of the value. My query and code are below:

This means that if I query STATES: "California", I'll get back every possible combination that exists with the name California in that particular field.The issue with this is that I'll get MULTIPLE primary key values rather than just 1. So, if one record, under STATES has California in it, but the other fields in that record have the Lookup & Relationship data-type, then every possible combination of that record will query instead of the multiple field-values form that you'll see in the table I am querying.
notice that my primary key (REF#ID) is repeated numerous times! This obviously causes problems with generating records and forms concerning information for 1 particular primary key. Is there a way around this problem other than specifying search criteria down as much as possible?! Perhaps there is some SQL code.
I have a table with a field with names set to text data type and i want to change it to number data type but when i do it in design view the data get lost. I want to know if there is a way to convert the data in the field as number type and keep the data in the field.

The report's data is a query built inside the report's RecordSource, not a self standing query.
I have an unbound form with an associated report. When the user hits the 'print' button on the form/screen, the report is launched in the background. In the On Load event of the report I populate the report fields from the forms field as so:

This works like a charm as long as I call the report in Print Preview mode (i.e. with acViewPreview). But if I send the report directly to the printer, none of the fields print.
I've read about using other report events to populate the fields (e.g., On Format and On Print) and also something about using TempVars to pass the data. But I haven't read anything that's clear and definitive about the full answer.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have five reason fields in my table and I would like combine them into one field on my report, with line breaks between so each reason starts on it's on line. Also if there is a blank record, I would like the report not to display a blank line. I have found ways to do this online for 2 records but I need this for 5.
Also when I do manage to get the lines all to show in the report there are 3 paragraph returns between them - making the reason display of the report 15 lines tall, not just 5. The code I have so far, which displays each of the reasons but spaced as described is:

I'm using Access 2010 and creating a report that is summing 16 fields but the wizard says I have too many fields selected. I had tried creating the report from scratch adding a sum field in the group footer but the field appears blank.
Below is what I am adding together all from one table. I have another report that will need to sum up 20 fields from a query.

So I have a text box in a report that I want to pull in data from a field in another report, so the 'control' for my text box looks something like this...
=[Reports]![rptSalesReceiptSub]![Text141] (i.e Text141 is the data I want to pull into my report)
...the path is completely correct but when I run my report I get.#Name? If I run the report that has the data I want, it's fine (in other words Text141 has valid data in it)
I have data from a survey with qualitative responses. For a single qualitative question, I moved the ID & responses into a new table and categorized the response according to a bucket/theme, where each column is a new bucket. I now have 10 columns. Each response is represented in 1 or more columns. I used an excel formula to copy the response data into the column itself.
Example:

However, now I'm realizing that Access always wants to show data for all records, or at most I can limit using a WHERE clause in my query.I want to use Access to generate this report:
1. Section 1: Show all responses from the Cats bucket where there is data
2. Section 2: Show all responses from the Dogs bucket where there is data
3. and so on
I know how to do summary values, and I know how to do filtering that apply across the whole report, but this seems like more advanced filtering, where I want to see selective details differently for each field.
I have a hourly report I need to run and one of the records will always be filled with a name of the employee. I need to hardkey some data in every day and instead of changing who is there that day I would like to be able to enter in, for example, sales data in a seperate record and when I go to create the report it will exclude any employee names that have 0 sales data or a blank record. so the table would be something like:
Employee.....Sales....
John.............0
Steve............__
Mathew..........1
So when I run the report it will only pull Mathew's name and sales information and leave John and Steve off the report.

I'm trying to create a report with data from 7 different tables. It's supposed to be an assignment overview for a transfer company (driving people from A to B, dunno how to call it in English). I put assignment and customer details into the page header, which is working out fine so far. But now I want to show transfer details and it's proving to be a bit troublesome.
When creating the assignment, the user can choose whether the transfer goes from/to an address or from/to an airport. Depending on which one he chose the data is stored in different tables. To determine whether it is an outward journey/collection, outward journey/target, return journey/collection or return journey/target, I put a field in each of those tables ("Schritt", its value being either 1, 2, 3 or 4).

Having the "Schritt" value for each step in either one or another table (address(es) or flight data) is making it a bit hard for me to wrap my head around the problem. Is that doable with expressions or is there a way in VBA to solve this problem?
In my Access 2010 report, I am attempting to perform conditional formatting of one field based on the difference between two fields. In particular, one field is "Time Scheduled" and the other field is "Time In". If the "Time In" is equal to or greater than 60 minutes of "Time Scheduled", I would like to format it to be red font. If it is less, I would like to format it to be green font.how I can conditionally format to do this?

So far i can use the contional formatting to set a field called [colour] to set that field to red and bold. But i believe I need to use an Expression for all fields, so I can make all fields that = red go red. I have used the the expression:
[colour] = "red"
but nothing happens.
Expression Is [Subtotal]+[Freight] > 50
I've created a report based on emergency contacts however some fields are blank as there isn't a "contact" and rather then have lots of empty fields all over the report is there anyway to omit them based on whether they are populated or not? there might be 2-3 records that have "every" field filled the rest are varied as to how many contacts they have.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have a report based on a query. Sometimes some of the fields on the report are blank because the information is not available. Is there a way to not show the blank fields on the report and to move the next field up into the space?
I have tried using Is Not Null on the query criteria but if any one field is null it doesn't show any of the others on the report.
I have currently got it so that the height is set to 0 and can shrink = yes and this seems to work but the field is still there (although hidden) - I would rather it was removed completely if it is blank as I am hoping eventually to make the output for each field show on a PowerPoint presentation and I don't want blank slides which I think this solution might do??
