Reports :: Access 2007 Crashes When Running Report Based On Query

Apr 14, 2014

I have DB in access 2007. I have a report that is uses a select query to generate the information for the report. It has been working great, But however lately like maybe with in the last month, it has been causeing Access 2007 to crash. I am having the same issue with another DB that uses the same information but that information is imported in. both Databases have worked great up until two months ago. Microsoft states that it is because of the program. I have tried to repair the DB by using the Repair option. I am confused as to why this would be happening. I can create a new report and it seems to work. but I do not want to change all the DB on everyone's computer just for this reason. I also have two buttons on my report that utilize macros to close or print the report.

Access 2007 Crashes On Excel 2007 Import

Mar 21, 2008

On trying to import an Excel 2007 file into Access 2007 I get the following:

1) Choose "External Data," Import, Exce
2) Select small file in MS Excel 2007 format.
3) Click on Import the source data into a new table ...
4) Choose OK

Immediately get "Microsoft Office Access has stopped working. Windows is checking for a solution to the problem..." This message never resolves, so I have to click 'Cancel'.

Then I get "Microsoft Office Access is trying to recover your information..." I have to click "Cancel" here as well and then kill MS Access in Task Manager.

Event Viewer gives following message, which is of no help:
"ID: 2, Application Name: Microsoft Office Access, Application Version: 12.0.6211.1000, Microsoft Office Version: 12.0.6215.1000. This session lasted 710 seconds with 120 seconds of active time. This session ended with a crash."

Trying to import a small Excel 2003 file leads the same result. The same happens with a CSV file.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Office 2007 as well. I am using Vista Ultimate.

I have turned off DEP.

How can I get MS Access 2007 to import Excel?

Thanks

Ken

Reports :: Running A Report Outside Of Access For General Users

Mar 28, 2014

My database is slowly coming together. For the final part of this phase i would like to create a shortcut on each users desktop which runs a summary report of information within my database.

I have criteria set so upon opening the report the user is asked for which address they wish to see information from which works great. But I do not want users to have access to the database, I just want them to be able to click a shortcut, be asked what address they are looking for and for the report to ping up in a 'Print Preview' type layout so information can be seen and displayed but not altered. All users have the access program.

Reports :: Forced Page Break(s) In Access 2007 Report

Sep 30, 2013

I am writing a book, using MS Access 2007 (seemed like a good idea at the time I started, and the report that creates the formatted book content works quite well).

The book content is "per paragraph" which gives me total flexibility to move content to whatever spot in the book I might wish, simply by changing the paragraph number (free field, not auto-number primary).

To save paper (or pages) in printing (or viewing) the book, I have the report printing off para by para (as many whole paras as will fit to a page). This is fine but I want each new chapter to start at a forced new page, for "presentation"/appearance sake.

The relevant fields for the purposes of this post are:

paranumber
paratext
chapternumber
forcepageifticked (a Yes/No box), which goes with each paragraph and which I thought might come in handy, I had in mind to link it to a page break control at the top of the "detail" part of the report in design view, and which would be "invisible" except if the report formatting process had got to the start of any chapter, and the Yes/no box was ticked.

Reports :: Access 2007 - Report Not Rendering Until Fields Are Clicked

Jul 24, 2014

Upon opening a report (it does this randomly), the report opens and it is completelty blank - no lines, lables, or fields - nothing. However, when I click on an area, the group I clicked on will render and display perfectly. So when this happens, I either have to click every where on the page or scrolling up and down (if the report is long enough) will render the whole report. It doesn't do this everytime; about 25% of the time though.

As you can imagine, when other people use the database and this happens, they freak and just think access is broken. What is causing this or what can be done to prevent this from happening?

I'm using access 2007.

Reports :: Access 2003 - Filter Report Based On Combo Box

Feb 3, 2015

My Access 2003 Database contains the following objects:

1. tblTrackerData
- this contains over 1,000 student enrollment records.
One of the fields "QualCourseName" (text) contains the name of the Training Course that the student has enrolled in.

2. qryCourseNamesGrouped is a query based upon the above table with one field only - QualCourseName. This includes the names of the training courses and has been grouped so that only 17 training courses appear, not over 1,000.

3. frmParameter is a form that includes a combo box cboFiltered based on the above query AND a command button CmdFiltered to open a report rptCourseNamesGrouped and filter the report based on the selection made from the combo box.

I have added the following code to the OnClick event attached to the cmd button"
================================================== ======

Private Sub cboFiltered_Click()
On Error GoTo Err_cboFiltered_Click
Dim stDocName As String

[Code].....

When I click on the cmd button, the entire report is opened, instead of the selection that I made in the dropdown list.

Reports :: Updating Report Based On Crosstab Query

Apr 19, 2015

I've got a self updating crosstab query, its essentially a monthly summary and every month a new column is added (one corresponding to the current month, i.e., next month the new column will be may, following that the new one will be june, etc)

I've designed a report to be based on this query and i tested it out by manually adding data for next month into a table, the query auto updated however the report remained the same (ended in april instead of adding a new column for may).

Just curious if there is a way to automatically add these new columns to the report every month or will i have to do so manually?

Access Crashes After Query

Jun 9, 2005

Hi,

I've run into a big problem recently. Whenever users run a specific query they receive an error that says, ACCESS has encountered error and will be shut down. the exact error message is shown below:

Microsoft Access has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

the Error Signature is the following:

AppName: msaccess.exe AppVer: 10.0.2627.1 ModName: msjtes40.dll
ModVer: 4.0.8618.0 Offset: 00009065

what is going on here? I'm not sure why it does this, it used to work fine. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Reports :: Record Source From Report Based On Nested Query?

Jul 24, 2015

I have a report that is based on nested (I think thats the phrase) query's.

Complicated Query based on another query (so I can't see a way to get at the the source SQL to change or use elsewhere)

This gives a list of say 20 records I generally want printed. I use the exact same query criteria with a separate update query to add the same to a table.

However I then wanted to just pick one with exact matching ID's I select on a form.

I could not see an easy way to apply this without making another set of nested querys which seems a little excessive

Anyway, an easy way for the printed report to do this is a simple filter added after, works great.

I can't see a way to do the same for an update query.

I was wondering if I could get the record source of this report and add to my table. I have tried with

' Dim db As DAO.Database
' Dim rs As DAO.Recordset
'Set db = CurrentDb
'Set rs = db.OpenRecordset(Me.RecordSource, dbOpenDynaset)
' Set rs = CurrentDb.OpenRecordset(Me.RecordSource)

And dozens of variations over some hours but a variety of errors mainly "too few parameters."

Reports :: Remove Prompt While Running Report

Apr 8, 2015

I have a report that is created from the following query (qryTotalProjectHours). What I am trying to do is get the total hours spent on Tasks within a given time period.

Code:

SELECT TasksEntries.Project, TasksEntries.Task, Sum(TimeTracker.WorkHours) AS TotalHours
FROM TasksEntries INNER JOIN TimeTracker
ON (TasksEntries.EmployeeId = TimeTracker.EmployeeId) AND (TasksEntries.TaskID = TimeTracker.TaskId)
GROUP BY TasksEntries.Project, TasksEntries.Task;

I accept the start and end dates in a form and pass it like shown below. WorkDate is a column in the TimeTracker table and is not present in any other table.

Code:

strWhere = "WorkDate BETWEEN #" & txtMgrRptStartDate & "# AND #" & txtMgrRptEndDate & "#"
DoCmd.OpenReport "rptTotalProjectHours", acViewPreview, "qryTotalProjectHours", strWhere, acWindowNormal

When the report is invoked, I get a box where it says
"Enter parameter value" for Workdate..

Is there anyway I can get rid of the prompt? I never thought you needed the column name in the SELECT statement to be able to run this.I should add the I tried the query with the WorkDate hardcoded in there and it worked fine and returned the correct results

Reports :: Query Based On Linked Tables - Report Produces Multiple Copies Of The Same Record

Jul 22, 2013

My report produces multiple copies of the same record. I know why, but don't know how to fix it.

EmployeeTable.

With a one to many relationship with TrainingTable (via employee PK as FK in trainingtable).

Training table has a one to many relationship with a table called Range.

Report is based on a query that picks up the Employee/Training/Range (range just describes the training unit).

However, If I have more than one range expressed organized a training unit, the report spits out several copies of the Employee record to display all the ranges.

Reports :: Subtracting From Previous Line In Report To Make Running Total

If it's for 2013 then I'll put the criteria for 2014 in the date. This will give me a list of all vehicles and their odometer readings. I then sort the date by ascending.

In the report I group on vehicle ID and then I want to show all their transactions and add up how many miles were driven.

Vehicle 1

1/2/201
1/5/2013
1/15/2013

Reports :: A2007 On Win7 - Unbound Report Does Not Open - OK On XP / 2007

Aug 8, 2013

I have an unbound report - which is actually a form for the user to print out if they need one. There is no data on the form.

Here is the code that is run when the Button is Clicked:

'First, I reenable the Access menus so that they can use those to print

DoCmd.OpenReport "TransitionSurveyPaperFormLEA", acViewPreview

When I open the report on XP/Access 2007, it works just fine.

When I open the exact same accdb with a Win7/A2007 machine, the report does not open. If I debug and display the error, a msgbox appears
"The OpenReport action was canceled."

I have other bound reports and those open with XP/A2007 or Win7/A2007 just fine.

It makes me VERY nervous that the same exact ACCDB in A2007 runs differently on different OSs (XP vs Win7).

Running A Query Based On Item In Combo Box

Nov 12, 2004

I am trying to select the records I want displayed by what category is chosen in the combo box.

Say there are two fields in the combo box: Red / Blue

I want the query to only display the records associated with the Red Category.

If I set the criteria in the query to [Show only Red] and type in Red when the query is run I get blank lines.

Is there an issue when choosing a category from a combo box for the query to be specific on?

My other issue is.... does the problem originate because I am trying to run a query from a table that is being filled in by typing the
information into a form? I wouldn't think so, but I am not sure.

Thanks,
ChrisB37
