I am using a database name as school. having a form name as form01.with cmd button close which close the form. I want to close form with ms Access database. So when user click close button application database will be closed.

"how to COMPACT the DB by introducing delay of 10 seconds and then close the DB".In the Database, I'm able to accomplish the "Compact" the database using the function below.

As my DB is quite huge, the Compact action takes around 10 seconds to complete.Now, i would like to Close the Database after Compacting the DB. I tried including "DoCmd.Quit" in the function. The commands in the function, closes the DB but the Compact function doesn't seem to have executed as it needs 10 seconds to complete.

I have follwed it and I have changed the username and the database name with mine but I can't figure out what to put to replace the .... after oConn.open. I git error this error when I have tryed to connect:

I deleted the oconn but it doesn't help I have tryed many other combination without any success.

Is it possible to close all open reports from one button on a form?
The form is a popup that appears if there are no records in a report. When the popup appears, and the user clicks OK, it is running a macro that closes the popup form and then the report. I would like to use this popup form for a number of reports, so obviously the macro cannot be used as it is only for one report.
Hope this makes sense and can anyone help?

The table used in the merge is in a different database. I'll call the database that contains the table Database2. When the merge is run, another instance of Access is automatically opened with Database2 open. How do I close the second instance of Access (Database2)?

Can someone help? I would like to insert a button/command onto one of my forms to close the entire database that is open, but without exiting Access. I have another database that has an Exit button on the switchboard that does this operation, but I cannot seem to find the 'procedure'/VBA anywhere on how to make this operation work. I know how to insert a command button/text box etc, but don't know which one I should use (if any) or if I need to write up a VBA command to do this. Can someone give me some step-by-step ideas? I've got 2 sub forms that I intend on using via a toggle button from my primary form to access them. Is there anyone that can give me a heads up on creating vb code that when OnOpen it will automatically advance to a new record for data entry? I want the form to keep anyone from accidentally changing existing info in that regard. I'm still really new with VB.

In the above code, I am not able to use the command,
con.Open (App.Path & " est.mdb"). It gives "Object Required Error". And while opening the con object I get the error "You attempted to open a database that is already opened exclusively by user 'Admin' on machine ''. Try again when the database is available."

I have a form that is created in Access but uses some VB code. Here is my problem..... I have one form that the users do money transactions on. Then I have created a form that will allow them to Void a transaction as well as Refund a transaction. On the Void/Refund forms it will query the user for the Receipt No. once that information is pulled in, there is a command button that says "Void Ticket Sale" on the Refund form it says "Refund Ticket Sale". What I'm trying to do is, once the user enters the receipt no and hit that Void/Refund Ticket Sale button - if it has already been voided/refunded, a message box will come up and say "This Ticket has already been voided/refunded". If it has not, the "Void Ticket Sale" command will carry on. Here is a snippet of my code, I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

I have a database that uses a switchboard with a close button that runs several instructions before it exits. The problem is that some users have access to the database window and I need to prevent them from closing the database by hitting the X in the upper right.

A form with this code is opened when the database is loaded. The form refreshes every 10 seconds. When the form refreshes, it searches (is supposed to search) for a file name and if not found, close the database. but if it's found it does nothing. I rename the file when I want the database to close. But the code runs no matter what and closes the database even if the file is in the correct location with the correct name. the file path above is a network drive but it doesn't work no matter when I put the file. I bolded the parts that are supposed to be searched.
I have created a small database, and created a Main Menu (form), the main menu starts as soon as someone start my database, i have linked up all my forms & reports into this main menu. now i want to hide left panel bar that shows all the table, quires, forms & reports files (so nobody can access tables, quires, etc from that panel).
