All, using access 2010. I am working with an existing database that have a letter programmed using fields in a query. I have to add to it but having a trouble. Merge in Word was not used. I can't find any examples. The letter is designed in a report design. Using the fields from a query and filtered by "IIF Statements".
I need to add a basic button on a form that would populate the current on-screen data in a form letter. The fields I have are name, address, city state zip and amount. I currently have the basic buttons on my form - Search, Next, Previous,Add, Delete Print Current Record. Thanks in advance for your assistance.
I have a database for my business, which lists clients details. Within this, I have a query that runs off receipts (one customer, many receipts), as I run a private school and people pay me monthly. I use this query to run off a Mail Merge letter within Word, but it's difficult, having to close the db and open a Word document and then relink it.
Is there any way that some coding could be used within the db so that I can add a button and just print out that record into a mail merge document?
I'm creating a form letter in Access 2002 and the letter is completed but I want to change the formatting from align left to justify but can't find a way to do this. The detail section contains 2 label boxes and 1 text box.
Any way in report that I have 2 reference queries just 1 is to populate all details and 2nd query to filter details and will be the final reporting information???
I'm designing a database in which the primary key is a combination of the first letter of first name, the first letter of last name and the date of birth.
I want to present some data in what seems to me like it would be a very natural and normal format, however have so far been unable to figure out how to do it.I record attendance data for a children's after school club in a table as follows (simplified):
AttendanceID - autonumber AttendeeName - text AttendanceDate - date Attended - True / False
The data looks like this in the table. I would like to be able to easily see who attended on which days, so I would like to therefore see the data laid out like this:
The Crosstab query looks almost like it would do what I wanted, however it seems to insist on adding something up, rather than just showing me the value true or false.
I am trying to generate a report that is based off of a query. The query has a form filter that it needs to filter the data. I keep getting a jet engine error and couple others.
The form has year, start week, and end week on it. I can get the query to work fine. When I try to open the report, Access says it doesn't recognize the " [Forms]![frmUptimeFilter]![StartWeek] " as a valid field name or expression.
I've got a fields called rev code that contain the following values:
field name: 110 131 250 255 258
field value: 7.49 6 11.25 12.11 78
I'm writing a query that pulls from the first two digits of the rev code and need to round off to the nearest dollar so in my query I'll have a column 11 with a value of 7, a column 13 with a value of 6, then I need to take columns 250 255 and 255 add the values together and round off so I get a column 25 with a value of 101.
Hello, I have a big table like this: ID Name Race1 Race2 Race3 -- ---- ----- ----- ----- 1 a Asian russian
How do I create a query to be like this (either in query or report)? I like to combine three fields (race1, race2, race3) in one field (Race), and break any value of races to the 2nd line, 3rd line, if there is a value... ID Name Race -- --- ---- 1 a Asian Russian
In Oracle and SQL Server, we can combine a few rows to be columns-like, but in Access, is there any way to do that? and how?
A list of codes that will be updated monthly, which will be the basis for querying the second table. Approx 100 rows of data.
2. Table Original
A data file obtained from IT where i'll need to sort it to find any codes that are including in Table1. This includes approx ~ 10,000 row of data.
** note, the "BIC" from "Table BIC" can appear in any of the 5 BIC columns in Table Original.
What i need to do is create a query that will:
1. Search the "BIC" from "Table BIC" in all 5 columns of "Table Original".
2. Where it has a hit, it will create new table - for example, the first row of table Original includes the BIC "ABC" in the "BIC 1" column. A query would create table "ABC" and place this whole record (all 8 fields) in new table "ABC". No modification needed.
3. Where two (or more) BIC's from "Table BIC" appear in one record in "Table Original" - the result will only need to be placed in one of the new tables (really doesn't matter which one). For example, Record #4 includes the BIC "ABC" in field "BIC1" and the BIC "DEF" in the field "BIC4". Therefore, a new table would be created (either ABC or DEF) to capture this information.
I'm trying to create a query that can sum values of different fields in different tables...Can I sum values of a field and put the result into another field in different table?
the below code works fine if i run a crosstab on a whole table however if i pass criteria to the crosstab e.g between [forms]![form]![txtstartdate] and [forms]![form]![enddate] it fails and returns null for every field? even though if set docmd.runquery "qryReductionByPhysician_Crosstab" this opens with the relevant data?
Code: Set db = CurrentDb Set qdf = db.QueryDefs("qryReductionByPhysician_Crosstab") indexx = 0
As I usually concentrate on building the tables and fields in my initial stage, and do some experimenting to analyze the relationship.
However, when I'm done, I find it quite a hassle to go manually through the tables to add description to each field for documenting.
What I would like to do is create a query that will list all fields and its description. Now, I have found codes to retrieve either table or fields properties, including the description property, but am kind of stumped on how I can make it a SQL statement so I can create a temporary query, which will be pretty be one time thing, that can read all fields' description and allow me to type in it, save it.
If that's not possible, I suppose I could write code, using Allen Browne's example, that would loop through the fields' description, debugging to the immediate window and prompting me if I would like to add something to the blank description. However, this isn't exactly greatest as I need to see all fields so I can be sure I'm giving good descriptions.
I figured someone may have had this same problem and maybe came up with a solution?
Have a Make table query that needs to create (add) several new fields where each field must be numeric design.
Have tried:
Score1: Not Null - does not seem to work (results in a Binary field) Score1: 0 - which does give me the numeric field designation but every field in table contains a 0.
Would like to show Blank field (makes data input easier at a later time) but still have the Numeric designation.
ok here is what i want.. imagine a search box, just an empty text box that allows the user to type things into it...
there will be a simple table from the database behind it, here is the typical structure of a record
<Country>Poland <Price1>60 <Price2>85 <Price3>95
in this table there will be say a 1000 of these records... my user is going to have to quickly search through these records while on the phone to a customer, and quote one of the relevant prices associated with that country
what i would like is this most convenient system.. as the user types in the letter 'P' just below all the records with countries that begin with 'P' are displayed (with a scroll down arrow if needed)..as well as the 3 relevant prices with that record
if they then type an 'O' into the box (which will now hold 'Po') all the records with countries beginin with 'Po' will be displayed (eg Poland)
if they delete the 'o'. once again the displayed records below the box will return to just the countries begginin with 'p'
all that is needed is for the records to be displayed, thats it.. but the adding and deleting of the letters within the text search box will need to instantly manipulate this list..
i have posted on other forums, and have been told this can be acheived in access, is it hard?
I have a report in which a textbox generates numerical values and letter values. I want to...On report load - if textbox = numbers then hide otherwise show if it contains letter values.
I am looking for a way to generate a list of all fields within a table, have the end-user select which fields he/she wants to include, and then run the query. I am trying to create this within a form for a nice, easy to use GUI.
I am using Access 2010 on Windows. The fields I need them to select from are in one table, however there are many lookup (tblkp) tables related.
Is there a way to have say five different reports that give out information and at the bottom the totals. I would like to take each of those separate reports to create one report with just the totals.
Hi, anyone know if it possibe to create a field within a query that looks at a 3 letter number code in a field of a table named "employee master" to see if the last number is an "I" or not. So for example a number code in a field named "Department" is "KTI". I would like to display "indirect" in that field if it contains a "I" in the 3rd letter of the number. And display "direct" if the third letter is a "D" intstead, tried doing IF statements but not sure how to go about it, any help would be great.
Hi. I have a load of records, that some of the first letter of a field, are not capitals, otherwise they are ok. the are loads of them though, so would take too long to go through by hand, is there a query i can run, to check it and change it if not? Thanks Alex
I am assisting with the design of a db, where depending on two criteria, one of two letters needs to be printed. If one check box is positive, a letter is to be generated. If it is empty then a second checkbox will be checked, resulting in a different letter.
