Reports :: Get Count Of Distinct VolunteerID In Unbound Textbox On Report?
Jan 28, 2014
SELECT qryHoursReq.VolunteerId, qryHoursReq.Name, qryHoursReq.Program, Sum(qryHoursReq.Total_Time) AS SumOfTotal_Time, qryHoursReq.S_date
FROM qryHoursReq
GROUP BY qryHoursReq.VolunteerId, qryHoursReq.Name, qryHoursReq.Program, qryHoursReq.S_date
HAVING (((qryHoursReq.S_date) Between [startdate] And [enddate]));
This is my query
I'm trying to get a count of distinct volunteerID in an unbound textbox on report.
If I use =Count(*) I get 2 when I put in date parameters and it groups by program
This is kind of correct, but, these 2 are the same person, she had different days she participated.
What code can I use for only get a count of 1
FOrgot to mention, when I use the DCount with numerous examples, I get #Error
I have a form, which is bound to a table, with an unbound textbox.
I am trying to get the number of months an employee has/had worked.
In the table are two dates, Company Start Date, and Resignation Date.
There are three scenarios in which I need to calculate the months:No Resignation Date
A Resignation Date in the future A Resignation Date in the Past
See attached PDF
The Employees are under a one-year contract which ends the day before the one-year anniversary.
I originally tried using DateDiff in the Control Source, but the IIF seamed too limited for my needs.
Code:
If [Resignation Date] = "" Then If Month([Nichii Gakkan Start]) = Month(Date) Then If Day([Nichii Gakkan Start]) < Day(Date) Then MIS = DateDiff("m", [Nichii Gakkan Start], Date) - 1
I have a report, in which i have a unbound text box i want to control the size of the text box as actual characters means,
if the word is in box is elephant so in report it show complete word then next and if the word is small like cat then it resize then the other word next to cat comes automatically at normal space by auto resizing of text box ..
I'm creating a report for an imaginary "medical clinic's database", the intended function of which is described as follows: "Create a statistic that shows the total number of distinct drugs prescribed to a patient."
Where I'm at:
I've created a query called UniqueDrugs containing drug and patient info. The SQL is:
Quote:
SELECT DISTINCT Drugs.Drug_Name, Patients.[Patient _ID] FROM Patients INNER JOIN (Drugs INNER JOIN Prescriptions ON Drugs.[Drug_ID] = Prescriptions.[Drug_ID]) ON Patients.[Patient _ID] = Prescriptions.[Patient_ID] GROUP BY Drugs.Drug_Name, Patients.[Patient _ID] ORDER BY Patients.[Patient _ID];
The results of this query seem to be what I need. All I need is for the count formula that I use to return the number of distinct drug names there are that are related to a patient's ID.
I've created a report and I've put the following formula into a text box:
Where PID is the name of another text box in the report that contains the Patient ID that I want to compare to the drug names returned by the query.
However, this *always* results in #Error, no matter how I change the formula.I have been led to believe that syntax is not the issue, as the following formula worked as intended for a different task:
I have this on two slightly different reports, where only one line of the report is different. One report works fine, no problems. All the data is there. But on the second report I get the dreaded #Name? error.
I have two numeric fields which make up what looks like a full decimalised number ie 20.22 - only I am unable to put the decimal point in between the two numbers.
I thought about putting in an unbound object such as a picture of a full-stop but cant get it anchored at the correct angle to make it look convincing in the report.As this is such a huge database I have tried to amend the tables, but it loses vital data ?
I have an unbound combo box on a report that looks up to a table of address data.I have a specific requirement where if one of the bound fields on the report is a specific value, I want the combo box to show data. If the bound control on the report is a different value, I want the data in the combo box to be different.
I have tried using the OnOpen method, but it says I cannot assign a value to it.I have tried using the OnLoad procedure, but it doesn't show anything. the code is as follows:
Code: Private Sub Report_Load(Cancel As Integer) If Me.[Dispatch Type] = "Sent to A" Then Me.cboDispatchTo = 15 ElseIf Me.[Dispatch Type] = "Sent to B" Then Me.cboDispatchTo = 8 End If End Sub
I have 10 unbound textboxes with the Tag Name "LoopID" in my report. I have to display the "PatientNumbers" field from the table tblPatient in those text boxes. Below is my code.
When I run the report, I get the error message: Run-time error '2448.' You can't assign value to this object and the code "Ctl.Value = rst!LCANumber" is highlighted.
Private Sub Report_Current() Dim strSql As String Dim dbs As Database Dim rst As Recordset Dim x As Integer Dim Ctl As Control strSql = "Select PatientNumber from tblPatient"
I have a report [Report1] that gets its data from a query [Query1]. On [Report1] there is an unbound text box [EnterEndDate] that I want to use as a filter for the report criteria, and have it filter the report to show every report row with the value in the [EndDate] field greater than what the user entered in [EnterEndDate].
There is no need to save the value used in [EnterEndDate]. It will be entered after the report is run and changed on demand while the report is open for the user to see different date ranges.
I have an unbound form with an associated report. When the user hits the 'print' button on the form/screen, the report is launched in the background. In the On Load event of the report I populate the report fields from the forms field as so:
This works like a charm as long as I call the report in Print Preview mode (i.e. with acViewPreview). But if I send the report directly to the printer, none of the fields print.
I've read about using other report events to populate the fields (e.g., On Format and On Print) and also something about using TempVars to pass the data. But I haven't read anything that's clear and definitive about the full answer.
When I open the report on XP/Access 2007, it works just fine.
When I open the exact same accdb with a Win7/A2007 machine, the report does not open. If I debug and display the error, a msgbox appears "The OpenReport action was canceled."
I have other bound reports and those open with XP/A2007 or Win7/A2007 just fine.
It makes me VERY nervous that the same exact ACCDB in A2007 runs differently on different OSs (XP vs Win7).
This basically gives a count of for a specific month. There are twelve rows of text boxes and two columns. There is a query applied to the report to input the year, as this is a yearly report.
What I want to do is link a chart to each and every text box to show the data in an easy to view format. But I can't seem to figure it out, and I've had no luck on the web .
Working on a report that displays multiple pie charts. Each chart is based on a different query. I cannot pull a single query for all charts due to the criteria for each conflicting with each other. Each query is filtered by Fiscal Year based on what I input into my Fiscal Year Filter form. The command button on the FY Filter Form opens the report, set TempVar to the FY field (the criteria for each query), and closed the FY Filter Form. This works as I want it to.
The problem: I have additional fields I want to show up on the form such as number of completed students (WINGED). This number is based on yet another query where all completed students are counted [WingedCount]. I have tried to write an expression to an unbound field that points at this [WingedCount] field but it does not work. Then, I changed the report's source as the query with the [WingedCount] field. This does work, however this is where I run into an issue
I open my FY Filter Form and type in my criteria and select the open command button. However, now I am asked for the criteria again for each chart on the report.
I need a way to input the criteria only once and have all charts populate as well as my count field.
I have attached a jpeg of my current report and will upload jpegs of the needed output following this post.
I have a form with 5 buttons on it. Each button is meant to select a warehouse location, so a query can be run to give an inventory report for that location. There is a separate query for each button and the OnClick event does properly modify the recordsource to give the appropriate data to the report for the location selected.
To this functionality I want the OnClick event VBA to pass the warehouse location to a textbox on the report, so the title of the report reflects that inventory location.
My code thus far is:
Private Sub Command5_Click() Dim mySQL As String Dim WHSE As String mySQL = "SELECT [Master Part List].[Part Number], [Master Part List].Category, [Master Part List].Description, [Master Part List].MaterialCost, [Master Part List].Inventory, [Master Part List].Update, [MaterialCost]*[Inventory] AS [Total Cost], [Master Part List].Warehouse"
[Code] ....
When I get the report, the textbox is empty, instead of containing the text value for the warehouse location.
i have been trying to figure out how to make a textbox if it is null to be invisible on a report.
I selected the detail section on the report, under the Event tab, On Format option then selected [Event Procedure] and then clicked on the ellipses.
Tbl_Receipt_Description is the name of the text box. ******************************************* If Me.Tbl_Receipt_Description = " " then Me.Tbl_Receipt_Description.Visible = False Else Me.Tbl_Receipt_Description.Visible = True End If *******************************************
I have a report in access 2007, now i need to ask that i am creating new blank report and just like to to capture value from other report via textbox or any source (you may reccommend), for e.g in Report A i have months and their total amounts now i want to add both these fields in new Report B where i will do the same with other previous reports to create summary of accounts.
Hi: There are two textboxs in my main form. One is bound and another is unbound. There is no entry in the unbound textbox as values come into automatically after entering some information in the subform. My question is how to i pass values from unbound textbox to bound textbox every time when the value change in unbound textbox i need to change the value in the bound textbox. When the form load there is already value in the bound textbox which i want to override based on the values from the unbound textbox.
I need the total of days in a report but exclude the repeated ones.
So user are working sometimes in different work orders on the same day but our administration only needs to know the number of days worked in one period of time.
i send a jpg with the example i use the =Nz(Count([Date Worked]),0) but that way i get all the entries counted
I have a textbox on a report that I wish to populate based on the value that is in another textbox/field on the report, and I thought DLookup was the way to go - however, I cannot seem to get it to work.
I have a table (ComplaintsResponses) that has two fields, both text
[ShortDescription] [ResponseText]
The text from [ShortDescription] is saved in a field on another table that contains all the other relevant information that is used in the report, and whilst this short description is mostly fine, I have one report where I need the data from the larger [ResponseText] field.
I have a table with the follwing; ShopID, CustomerID, Month, Item_ref, Product Category
There are about one thousand shops. The CustomerID field is only unique per shop. I.e. all transactions for customer ID '002' in shop 1 will be for the same customer, but customer ID '002' could appear in another shop and will be a different customer, I want to be able to bring back a list of distinct customers, the number of items they have had and the product categories.
Has anyone got any ideas how I do this? I presume I would need to do a count distinct or something??
I want to get disctinct count of InvoiceNo while summing up Amount by Date and CustomerID in one query. Firstly, I tried to use correlated query to count unique records but it failed. SELECT A.Date, A.CustomerID, (SELECT COUNT(B.InvoiceNo) FROM Table1 B WHERE B.Date = A.Date AND B.CustomerID = A.CustomerID ) AS CountOfDistInvNo, Sum(A.Amount) AS SumOfAmount FROM Table1 A GROUP BY A.Date, A.CustomerID;
The result of Count is not a unique count. Can anyone tell me what's wrong with this correlated query? :confused:
After hours of googling on internet, the solution I got is equivalent to querying on top of the resulting table from another query.
My final query is
SELECT B.Date, B.CustomerID, Count(B.InvoiceNo) AS CountOfInvoiceNo, Sum(B.SumOfAmount) AS SumOfAmount FROM (SELECT A.Date, A.CustomerID, A.InvoiceNo, SUM(A.Amount) AS SumOfAmount FROM Table1 A GROUP BY A.Date, A.CustomerID, A.InvoiceNo) AS B GROUP BY B.Date, B.CustomerID;
Is there a better solution than this in Access? :)
Tried several suggestions in the forum but haven't found one to match my needs.
I have one table, Jupiter and need to use this query
SELECT Jupiter.codename AS Build, Count(Jupiter.tooling_ind) AS [# Needing Tool], Count(IIf([tool_req_type]='OR',([requisition_no]))) AS [# Tooled], [# Tooled]/[# Needing Tool] AS [% Tooled], Jupiter.tooling_ind FROM Jupiter GROUP BY Jupiter.codename, Jupiter.tooling_ind HAVING (((Jupiter.tooling_ind)="Y"));
For each "codename", there is an attached "part_no" which can appear under a codename several times. The problem is that I need to count only one instance of the "part_no" for each "codename". So, my query looks like this: Build # Needing Tool #Tooled LP1 769 192
The # Needing Tool is counting every record that, say pn 10592 shows up in and I need it to be counted only once in each "Build"
I did try this suggestion I found with no results.
SELECT Jupiter.codename AS Build, Count(Jupiter.tooling_ind) AS [# Needing Tool], Count(IIf([tool_req_type]='OR',([requisition_no]))) AS [# Tooled], [# Tooled]/[# Needing Tool] AS [% Tooled], Jupiter.tooling_ind FROM (SELECT DISTINCT Jupiter.part_no FROM Jupiter)Jupiter GROUP BY Jupiter.codename, Jupiter.tooling_ind HAVING (((Jupiter.tooling_ind)="Y"));
I've searched on google for count distinct help but I had no luck. I'm counting 2 different columns and when the query is run the counts in both columns appear exactly the same. Also, I need a SUM distinct (if possible) to sum only where it is being counted in 'CountOfCar_Nr'. Here is my SQL....
I'm building a sort of uberquery to do some calculations on a dataset for me, and I reached a point where I'm having some problems. I'm going to have to assemble the main query by doing a join on several subqueries.
Essentially, I have one table with the following fields (DrawingNo, DrawingRev) and another table with a great deal of data in it, but as far as this problem is concerned, it has (DrawingNo, DrawingRev, OrderNo, SPOOL). I have several tests that have to be performed.
The first table contains a master listing of al drawings we are supposed to have, the second contains information related to procesing the drawings. There is one row in the second table for each piece to be made from each drawing.
The first test is to verify that no gievn revision of any drawing has been split across more than one OrderNo. Essentially, I Count(OrderNo) and group by DrawingNo and DrawingRev, so that there is one line in the query for each drawing/revision pair, and a count of the number of OrderNos that meet those criteria.
The second test (and this is the one I have a problem with) involves taking a count of the number of unique values of DrawingRev that occur for a given DrawingNo. Something like SELECT Count(DISTINCT Drawingrev) FROM SecondTable GROUP BY DrawingNo should work, but Access doesn't appear to support "Count(Distinct". How do I get around this, and remember that any answer has to be able to be used as a subquery.
