Reports :: Combine Two Cross-tab Queries In A Report

Mar 19, 2013

I understand that I can't set multiple "values" in a crosstab query but I need to have both a UPC and a price display in a report(Price List) for Our Exotic Wood selections like so:

Wood Type 4/4 5/4 8/4 12/4 16/4 20/4 24/4

Afr. Mahogany |||| ||| ||| |||| |||| |||| ||||
$15 $20 $30 $40 $50 $60 $70

Rosewood |||| ||| ||| |||| |||| |||| ||||
$15 $20 $30 $40 $50 $60 $70

I have 2 crosstab queries one that gets the price and one that gets the UPC I can join them and get it to print on every other line but there is no way that i can find to print two lines at a time in a report so my question is there a way to achieve the outcome described above with two crosstab queries? do I need more queries or a different kind of query?

Reports :: Combine Two Queries Into One Report Source

Feb 27, 2015

I have a database that reports activities by region.

Each week, my regional volunteers report statistics on a number of club activities. This is in the form of zero to theoretically infinite activity reports that they enter on a website. I download the .csv from the website, add the activity reports to the activity table and send them a totals summary every now and then.

The summary report shows figures for every club in the region, even if no activity reports have been entered for that club that week or ever.

This works fine, including forcing the query to return zeros when no reports have been submitted for that club.

What I want to do is have the report also show (in brackets next to each figure) the position as it was X number of days previously.

I can make the query and report to show the figures now.

I can make the query and report to show the figures X days ago.

What I cannot work out is how to combine the two queries into one report source so that I can get

Club 1 100(50) 75(0) 45(45)
Club 2 0(0) 0(0) 0(0)
Club 3 20(19) 0(0) 200(50)

etc

If I try and make a third query that gets the sums from qryNow and the sums from qryXdaysago for each record in qryClubsByRegion, I get two lines for each club.

Query To Get Summary Results For Multiple Queries

Feb 27, 2006

Hi All,

I have a approximately 70 queries in my database. I would like to be able to run a query which would run all of the queries and output the number of records for each query. Ideally, these would then be written to a table so that the user could then just read the values from the table for the latest results, rathe r than have to execute the whole thing again.

The user may wish to select which queries to run. I was thinking that I would need a table as follows called say tblQueryResults:

QueryToRun - Yes/No - DateRun - NumberOfRecords
Query1 - Yes - -
Query2 - Yes - -
...
...
...
Query70 - Yes - -

So my first dilema is to work out how to run all the chosen queries that the user wishes to run. The user will probably have all 70 ticked as Yes initially.

Should I run this from VB code with a whole lot of VB statements. I would like to loop through the whole table and collect a list of all the queries to run based on a positive Yes for some or all of the queries. The results must then go and be written into the same table under the date it was run and the number of records that was found for each query.

The whole reason for doing this is that queries which return no records need not be run by the user - saving the user time etc. I appreciate that this query will take a considerable amount of time - given that it could be as many as 70 being run one after another.

Thanks,

Evan

Queries :: Create Summary Query For Each Table?

Dec 5, 2013

I have three tables with data.

Table1 is data for meals.
Table2 is data for room costs.
Table3 is data for payments made.

Each of these tables has a foreign key for EventID.I'm trying to produce a report that will show, for each EventID:

The total billed (which is meals + rooms)
The total paid (from Table3)
The balance due (the difference from the two above).

Do I have to create summary queries for each table?

Queries :: Counting Occurrences Of P - Summary Column In Crosstab Query

Feb 18, 2014

I need to add a column to a crosstab query that counts all of the occurrences of "P" in a particular row in the crosstab query. Basically "P" stands for "Present" and I need to know how many days each employee was present for his/her shift. The SQL for the crosstab query is as follows:

PARAMETERS [Forms]![frmDashboardReports]![txtStartDateAndTime] DateTime, [Forms]![frmDashboardReports]![txtEndDateAndTime] DateTime;
TRANSFORM First(tblAttendance.AttendanceCode) AS FirstOfAttendanceCode
SELECT tblAttendance.EmployeeName
FROM tblAttendance
WHERE (((tblAttendance.AttendanceDate)>=[Forms]![frmDashboardReports]![txtStartDateAndTime] And (tblAttendance.AttendanceDate)<=[Forms]![frmDashboardReports]![txtEndDateAndTime]))
GROUP BY tblAttendance.EmployeeName
PIVOT Format([AttendanceDate],"Short Date");

This returns an "AttendanceCode" against each employee against each day in the specified time period. I just need to be able to "sum" those codes in a column.

Queries :: Press A Button And Run A Macro / Append Query To Add A Single Summary Record To Another Table

Aug 2, 2013

I have a query run that gives me a list of records that I view on a continuos form. What I want is to press a button and run a macro/Append Query to add a Single Summary record to another table.

For example my query spits out this data

Part # Quantity Serial Number
GO2 1 123
GO2 2 456
GO2 2 789

What I'm looking to get is

Part Number Total Quantity Serial Number 1 Serial Number 2 ..
GO2 5 123 456

I'm stuck on a couple of things.

1. Getting a new single row to append.
2. Getting Serial Numbers from several records to save on to a single record.

SQL - Union Query To Combine 3 Queries

Jun 3, 2015

I have three queries that make a training list based on a person's role, team, and ad-hoc exceptions. The personnelID field is filtered by a listbox on a form. Each of these work great on their own (nice!). Now I want to combine them. I made the below union query that works... however when it is run, I am prompted to enter the personnelID again. This prompt only happens once. Do I need to incorporate a qhere statement somewhere, even though each of the individual queries have them already?

SELECT First_Name, Last_Name, TrainingTitle, PersonnelID
FROM qryPersonnelTrainingByRole
UNION ALL
SELECT First_Name, Last_Name, TrainingTitle, PersonnelID
FROM qryPersonnelTrainingByTeam
UNION ALL SELECT First_Name, Last_Name, TrainingTitle, PersonnelID
FROM qryPersonnelTrainingByAdHocPersonnel;

The where statement of potential use:

Code:
WHERE (((tblPersonnel.PersonnelID)=[Forms]![frmMain]![lbxPersonnel]));

Trying To Combine Multiple Queries Into 1 Main Query

Jul 10, 2006

Can anyone help me with how I can accomplish this?

Here is what I currently have:

10 SQL Pass-through queries to update different Date field (Date1, Date2, Date3, etc.) based on the value of the next date field.

This is how each individual query is set up (there are 10 in total)
UPDATE tblApplications SET tblApplications.LastContact = [date1]
WHERE (((tblApplications.Date2) Is Null) AND ((tblApplications.[Date Completed]) Is Null));

Here is what I would like to have: (as 1 query)

UPDATE tblApplications SET tblApplications.LastContact = [date1]
WHERE (((tblApplications.Date2) Is Null) AND ((tblApplications.[Date Completed]) Is Null));

UPDATE tblApplications SET tblApplications.LastContact = [date2]
WHERE (((tblApplications.Date1) Is Not Null) AND ((tblApplications.Date2) Is Not Null) AND ((tblApplications.Date3) Is Null) AND ((tblApplications.[Date Completed]) Is Null));

UPDATE tblApplications SET tblApplications.LastContact = [date3]
WHERE (((tblApplications.[Date Completed]) Is Null) AND ((tblApplications.Date1) Is Not Null) AND ((tblApplications.Date2) Is Not Null) AND ((tblApplications.Date3) Is Not Null) AND ((tblApplications.Date4) Is Null));

Can I somehow combine them together like this or do I have to keep them as 10 seperate queries?

Queries :: Combine Four Identical Tables In One Query?

Apr 10, 2014

I have multiple databases (one for each department). All 4 databases have an Agents table (tblAgents). Now I am creating another database that uses all of the agents on site. What I want to do is link all the agents tables and combine the values in one query.

Fields are:
UserID (PK)
AgentName
BadgeNumber (Employee Number)
Campaign (Department)
Coach (Supervisor)
HireDate
Status (Active / Leave of absense / Terminated)

The tables are linked to my new database. So logically, I'd think my next step is to query the tables. This is where I'm stuck. How do I say:

Agent = tblAgentsDepartment1.AgentName and also tblAgentsDepartment2.AgentName and also tblAgentsDepartment3.AgentName and also tblAgentsDepartment4.AgentName?

I'll have to do this for each field involved...

Queries :: Query To Combine Different Fields From Multiple Tables?

May 13, 2014

I get tasked to use access very infrequently but now I have been asked to create a database. I am struggling with combining 2 tables. I have different data on each table however I do have a unique Identifier. So on table 1 I have Bud, his height, weight, etc. On table 2 I have Bud his home address, phone #, etc. I am using name "Bud" in this case as my unique identifier. I want to create a query that gives me Bud, his height, phone # etc. I want my query to pull in all records. Bud may only have info on table 1 and Budette could be on table 2 but not on table 1. I would like my query to include all the unique identifiers and as much info as I have in the tables.

Queries :: DLookup - Combine Multiple Criteria Syntax In Query

Apr 17, 2013

I am trying to create a Dlookup in Access 2010 within a query using query wizard. I want to lookup the tax rate for an employee based on a salary range and their 'tax category' (string). Through troubleshooting I can get the criteria to work separately.

These are: DLookUp("Base","TABWT","[TABWT].[Taxclass] = '" & [FirstOfTaxGroup] & "'")

DLookUp("Base","TABWT",[grosspay] & " Between [TABWT]![Minimum] And [TABWT]![MaxBracket]")

These work and return the correct values for each column/row when I run the query.

However, when I combine the criteria (using the build wizard) as follows:

Expr1: DLookUp("Base","TABWT","[TABWT].[Taxclass] = '" & [FirstOfTaxGroup] & "'" and [grosspay] & " Between [TABWT]![Minimum] And [TABWT]![MaxBracket]")

The Dlookup will returns 0 values but will not give an error message.

I've tried quite a few variations on syntax and quotes and so on. However, it's just not working for me.

Queries :: Sorting A Query In Unconventional Way?

I want to sort the results of a query as follows.

For the first 500 rows I want to sort by Field1 with the remaining rows sorted by Field3.

I can identify the first 500 rows bi ID being less than 501.

I've done something similar where I've displayed a value of a field in a different order by coding something like

ORDER BY Iif([field3]=9, 0.5, [field3])

which sorts the 9's first followed by the rest in ascending order but can't work out what to do here.

Queries :: Combine 4 Tables Data That Falls Within Dates - SQL Query Returns No Records

Oct 2, 2013

I have a complex database app that has a form called from the main form. It requires two inputs: BeginningDate and EndingDate and I use a calendar picker for date selection. Using data assigned to a variable, I build the SQL query in VBA. The result is:

Code:
SELECT [1733_All Print Orders].[Application], Sum([1733_All Print Orders].[TotalImages]) AS SumOfCCPC
FROM [1733_All Print Orders]
WHERE [Application] = 'CCPC' AND [StatementDate] >= #9/3/2013# AND [StatementDate] <= #9/30/2013#
GROUP BY [1733_All Print Orders];[Application]

[1733_All Print Orders] is a defined query that combines 4 tables together and there are data that falls within the dates for CCPC. But the query returns no records.

I pasted the query to the query builder and using different combinations, I isolated that the [StatementDate] >= #9/3/2013# portion is what returns no records

To complicate matters even worse, prior to today, it worked. I made some adds and changes to another area of the application, but did not touch this code.
