Reports :: Loop That Goes To Next Number
Jul 15, 2014
I have created this simple SQL/Query that only show a table of students who passed the exams, but I have to do it manully, like I have to change the range or coordination for every class I have, I want the Query/SQL to loop by itself and goes to the next class/school and gives me the number of all the students who entered the exams and the one's who passed only sorted by school name and class, no more info is required like Student Name or something.this is a very very basic and simple code:
Quote:
SELECT studt.schoolnm, studt.class, studt.fdor, studt.freslt
FROM studt
WHERE (((studt.schoolnm) Like "8") AND ((studt.class) Like "005") AND ((studt.fdor) Like "02") AND ((studt.freslt) Like "0100"));
in other words, I want the SQL/Query to loop by school ID (numbered from 1 to 198 schools) and classes (from 4th to 12th grade entered as 004/005/006/010/012 and so on), the "fdor/freslt" are standers so they must not be changed or looped (if this even possible).
and I want it to be printed like:
School Name | Class | Total Number of Students | Number of who Passed

I wanted to print multiple reports using for loop but I am not sure how to start with.
This is basically my idea:
1. Create a hidden indicator, I name it txtHidden.
2. I have one table, there are one column for "report name".
3. I have one query, filtered the "report name" column according to txtHidden, criteria written in the design view.
4. Using For loop, browse through all the existing report.
5. Every loop, txtHidden will equals to every reportItem.Name. Query will run.
6. If Query is no result, dont open report, if query returns some result, open the report.
I wanted to code something as below, but I dont know what to put in the [Dont know what to type] field...
For Each [Dont know what to type] In Access.Reports
[Forms]![frmStartup]![txtHidden] =[ Dont know what to type] .Name
If DCount("*", "ReportQuery", "") > 0 Then
DoCmd.OpenReport [Forms]![frmStartup]![txtHidden], acViewPreview
End If
Next
Can ignore the query part. It is working fine.

I have a form which uses a loop command to output reports as a PDF. The reports take a bit of time to produce and the record set could contain 100-150 records. Any way that you can split the recordset down into batches. Maybe have a button which creates 1-20 and another 21-40 and so on.

I have a sales report that I generate each week based on a query, which relies on the input from a combo box on a form. This works great - but I have select each salesperson, one at a time and run their reports separately.
I'd like to have some code that will run through each person on the list, generate their report, create the PDF, and email (or save) the file. From my initial research, it appears I will need to utilize a List Box (vs a combo box), so I can select multiple salespersons for the report.
I've found a few examples of code to use...but a little lost on how to implement. I create a new form with a list box that queries the property table for the list. I then added a button to execute the code, and attempted to add this (with my control and reports names substituted). Getting all sorts of errors -- so not sure I'm on the correct path.

Dim intCounter As Integer
Dim cboCode As ComboBox
Set cboCode = Me![ YourControl ]
'If Your Data Type is Numeric use this section

I have a form where we fill in information for supply of equipment to employees.
Each item must be signed for on a printed report.
I am encountering problems trying to create enough rows in my report detail for each signature of the items supplied.
For example, on the form I will select the "equipment" - 4 hats supplied and 3 boots. On the report I want the equipment set as the group and the detail to be a number or rows which equals the number of selected items. therefore under the Hats group heading I want 4 blank rows which are made up of 3 text boxes - Print Name, Signature & Date and another group heading for boots but with 3 lines.

I have already created a summary report that is one page long, however, every time I view my report in report view, export to PDF or print, the report has duplicate copies! Not blank pages. Just duplicate copies of my one page. The report is generating hundreds (about 700) of the same exact page. How do I force my report to have just one page.

I got a easy table with two columns. To make it easy say
1 20
2 40
3 30
4 78
5 60
6 85
7 20
I want to put the number 1 - 7 over a picture and get it to look up the value in the 2nd coloumn and replace the nr with the number in the 2nd column. Is this possible? I would have to manually put in where 1 - 7 is (this will be labeled ontop of a plot plan)...

I have a DB with 1000+Records. Each record has a "History" field showing the date I last visited (about 20+Visits each). When I re-visit I print Report (A4 size) which gives me the address and previous visits, however I only want my report to show the last 6 visits.
I have tried both a Query & Subform and changed the "Top Values" from ALL to 6, but this only gives the last 6 visits from all records. I need to see the last 6 visits for each record.

In my report, I have combo boxes that display numbers (for example min_revenue and max_revenue).
In case of a "0" or "999.999", I would like to display "n/a" within the combo-boxes.
I would like to avoid doing this within the table, because I would like to keep the data type in number format.
Remark: I confused "combo-box" with "text box". I'm using text boxes, which are supplied with values from a table

I want to have line item numbers on report look like this:
Number....Order Number
1............9533-1425-20
2............5866-3411-14
3............2332-2355-14
3............2332-2355-14 ->repeating item
4............4399-5208-12
5............7392-2305-62
5............7392-2305-62 ->repeating item
6............2332-2355-14
Each new row of record needs to have their own line item number starting from 1 with criteria if order number is the same then carryover line item number on that record. I know how to get line item starting from 1 to last by assigning unbound control field with entry "=1".

I have a contract management database where contracts have a start date and an end date. I also have a date parameter set up whereby I can show live contracts between overlapping records.
I want to be able to count the number of days for each contract that is live between the dates of the parameters.
For example my contract might run from 1st to 30th November but I might want to report from 10th October to 10th November so the number of days I need the query to return is 10 days as my contract is not live before the 1st November. Or my query might run from 1st October to 31st December, then I would need it to show 30 days as it covers the whole of this contract.

I am selling some products, namely A to M. I record the orders of costumers in a table, named "orders". For example, if costumer "Jack" has ordered as the following:
Code:
ID costumer product quantity unitprice orderdate
12 jack A 4 10 25/11/2014
13 jack B 5 5 25/11/2014
14 jack C 1 4 25/11/2014
15 jack F 3 2 25/11/2014
16 Jack G 4 8 25/11/2014
17 Jack H 1 7 25/11/2014
Then I make a report based on the above table and issue that as the invoice to the costumer, who is jack here.
How can I make a unique invoice number, which automatically increases sequentially for each invoice? Do I need to add a new column to the table? I also need to be able to look for a specific invoice based on the number, or date.

I have 2 table:
- tblInvoice include Inv#, Type (Debit/Credit), InvoiceDate, ...
- tblCharge: ChargeCode, UP, Qty...
I have created a qry of these 2 table. It works properly. I added a Number spelling function to convert Total amt to word.
The error has happned when I change anything in tblInvoice. Every time I run the report, the report reports error 13 Type Mismatch. When I run debug, it point to Sodoc = Round(Sodoc, 0).
It's strange. This Number spelling function only spells the number in the report why is it impacted (by the change of tblInvoice record)?
P/S: The following is the Number spelling function mentioned above.
=======
Option Compare Database
Public Solay(0 To 15) As String
Public Donvilay(0 To 4) As String

I have a report I want to generate in Access 2010. I have a text box with the following:
Code:
="Page " & [Page] & " of " & ([Pages]+[Forms]![ReportForm]![PageCount])
What I am attempting to do is increase the maximum number for the total number of pages in the report. As it reads right now when I go into print preview it looks like
"Page 1 of " That is all. It doesn't seem to calculate the new total number of pages. Yes the report form is open, and yes there is value in the PageCount in the Report Form.I had this working in another database, but this one isn't being as nice. The reason for adding to the total page count is because additional pages will be added to the report that aren't in the database. how to increase the total number of pages in the report.

Unfortunately this option does not fit my requirements. Is there a possibility to set the number of columns through VBA and change it across the different parts of the report?

I'm creating a report for an imaginary "medical clinic's database", the intended function of which is described as follows: "Create a statistic that shows the total number of distinct drugs prescribed to a patient."
Where I'm at:
I've created a query called UniqueDrugs containing drug and patient info. The SQL is:
Quote:
SELECT DISTINCT Drugs.Drug_Name, Patients.[Patient _ID]
FROM Patients INNER JOIN (Drugs INNER JOIN Prescriptions ON Drugs.[Drug_ID] = Prescriptions.[Drug_ID]) ON Patients.[Patient _ID] = Prescriptions.[Patient_ID]
GROUP BY Drugs.Drug_Name, Patients.[Patient _ID]
ORDER BY Patients.[Patient _ID];
The results of this query seem to be what I need. All I need is for the count formula that I use to return the number of distinct drug names there are that are related to a patient's ID.
I've created a report and I've put the following formula into a text box:
=DCount("[Drug_Name]","[UniqueDrugs]","[Patient_ID]=[PID]")
Where PID is the name of another text box in the report that contains the Patient ID that I want to compare to the drug names returned by the query.
However, this *always* results in #Error, no matter how I change the formula.I have been led to believe that syntax is not the issue, as the following formula worked as intended for a different task:
=DCount("[Prescription_Date]","[UniqueYearQuery]","[Patient_ID]=[PID]")
How do I use a DCount to return the number of different drugs that have been prescribed to a patient?
If it did not require the number of different drugs, I would simply use the following formula, which works just fine:
=Count(Drug_Name)
