SQL To Compare EMails In MS ACCESS 2000
Aug 8, 2007
I have an excel spreadsheet that I imported into a a table called LBCItyProfiles.
I have Another excel spreatsheet that contains our portal users info, I imported it into a table called Export.
I need to see which Emails Do Not Exist in Our Export database but exists in the LBCItyProfiles.
Both Databases have fields called EMail. I need to return the FIrstName, LastName and Emails of users that do not Exist in our Export database. I should not return Emails that are in the portal but not in the LBCityProfiles because maybe thats why my earlier SQL was not working:
SELECT LBCityProfiles.Email
FROM [LBCityProfiles] LEFT JOIN [Export] on [LBCityProfiles].Email = [Export].Email
WHERE [Export].Email IS NULL
This SQL returned Emails that Existed in the Export database but not in LBCityProfiles database, I do not want it to do that. I just need to see how many LBCity ids did not make it to the portal.

Hi
I have a database that currently has security in place so that users input their own usernames and passwords to access the database. The users have recently been added to a windows 2000 server and I want to be able to use their windows 2000 server logon credentials to provide them with automatic access to the database. Is there anyone out there who knows how to set this up? It is a rather urgent request if you could get back to me either on this forum or via email

many thanks

I am opening and closing a series of Excel 2000 Workbooks using Access 2000 VBA and want this sequence to be able to complete without any human intervention.
However, there are 2 instances when this stops and waits for a human option to be selected:
1. When the spreadsheet is password protected
2. When the spreadsheet has automatic links I get the message:
"The Workbook you opened contains automatic links to information in another workbook. Do you want to update this workbook with changes made to the other workbook?"
How can I code it so that in situation 1 it skips this file and in situation 2 it automatically defaults to do not update?
Any help most appreciated.

If I have a report in MS Access 2000 generated based on the criteria selected of a project with work order "9999" with the labor costs, materials costs and the Totals of each crew1, crew2,... and I would like to have those expenditures populated in corresponding cel in Excel for each crew, HOW would I do it?
To think it out loud, could I create a button on a form, so when I select the criteria for the work order, and when I click the button, it should refresh/update the Exel file with the new data...?? How do I write VBA code for that...?
Please help...Thank you so much....

Hi everybody,
I have recently been doing a conversion for my boss for a access 2000 database (both front and backend) to a MSSQL backend.
I finished the conversion today (as quite a lot of the code / queries ran slow due to access running the queries locally rather than on the server). And tested it on my and my boss's machine with no problems so he gave the go ahead to update everybody to our new mssql 2000 backend with the modified frontend.
This is when the problems started; We had two different sets of forms for accessing one of our databases systems - the log system, one is the original dynaset based form, and the other is a newer set which uses snapshot views and preforms updates via queries. Nobody uses the old dyanset system apart from my boss and one of the administrative team as they have things on that window which they need to see. About 30 minutes into the release of the new database the system frooze up on my bosses computer and nobody could create a new log (the server was timing out). I assumed this had something to do with the old dynaset's creating locks on the table.
I offlined the database and kicked everybody out of the front end, turned it on again and tied again, this time banning everybody from the dynaset system. Within 10 minutes another computer frooze up, again with a timeout on the insert query. I discovered that after you had added a new log to the database it would timeout on all subquent additions (something it hadn't done during testing) . Further investigatiion showed it was the snapshot list window causing the error, so coded the add log window to close the list before preforming the insert query and then reopen it afterwards. This allowed my machine to make multible additions without flaw. So I released a new client to everybody. 15 minutes later it was timing out again, but this time there you could not even make one new record.
I checked for locks on the table though the server management table and couldn't find any for the Log table. I have restarted the SQL server box and with no avil. So I reverted our backend to the access mdb file and told people to use the old client.
I am at a complete lose to why this is happening, if anybody has had any expericences like this or knows the cause please tell me.
Some information on the database in question.
It was made as an access 2 database all intergrated into one file, then it was seperated into two files (frontend and backend). Upgraded to Access 97, then to 2000 before this final update to MSSQL 2000.
The log system has two main tables. The first is the log title / info table which links (one to many) to a log entry table. This problem only occurs on the main log table and does not appear to be reoccurring anywhere else within the database. The main log table has just under 18,000 rows in it.
Thank you in advance for any help,
Dom

I recently posted a question in the REPORTS section asking if it was possible to generate a report that contains only the email addresses of my contacts to generate and send a mass email. There were no responses to that...so that makes me ask - Is there anyway in Access to generate mass emails using only the email address field in a table or query?
I am aware of other programs you can buy to do that - but was hoping to stay within Access.
Thanks for any help!

I need a way of saving a copy of an email in Access. I am using Outlook for an email client. I have heard I can create a command or procedure in Outlook that will open a window (combo box?) with case numbers linked to an existing Access database. By selecting the case number a copy of the opened email will be created that can later be accessed (no pun intended) through Access. Is this possible?

I'm wondering if there is anyway I could drag and drop an email from outlook into a field in access? we are currently taking the email and converting it to PDF, then adding it to an attachment field with the appropriate record it corresponds to.
I'd like to be able to simply have access and outlook open, and drag the email from my inbox right into access and store it in access, is this possible?

I've created a table that is linked to a folder named New within MS Outlook. I've created a form that will read the emails within the table, and manipulate the data into another table. After the manipulated data is inserted into the other table, I'd like to move the email from the New folder in Outlook to another folder named Pending within Outlook.

The form has a close button that has a macro attached that initated an emails and send the form information in a report to the end user . My problem is the function works great when the sender has a Outlook account. When the sender has a gmail account - the command will not work. Using Access and Outlook 2010. I have a database that tracks Contracts for our University. One of the fields it tracks is Expiration Date.
Is there a way to have Access prompt Outlook to send an email to my boss when the contract is a month or within a month from expiring?I'm assuming when the database is opened it would have to run a query for expiration dates expiring within one month of today's date (which i know how to do).
I just don't know if it's possible to generate an email or some kind of message with those records/contract numbers displayed? I should also note my boss is the only one who uses this database so even if the email notice isn't possible, is there a way to show a message of what contracts are expiring soon when he opens the DB?

In an Access 2007 module, is there a way of sending an email to a list of people stored as a list in a table in the database, rather than having to put all the names into the function?
I have a function I'm using to generate and send out an email to certain people, but the list is constantly growing so I'm looking for a better way to manage it! The main issue is having to kick users out of the database every time I need to update the recipients list... because it's stored in the code.
If I create a simple table containing all the names, how could I then ask it to use that instead?
This is the function I'm using currently - found on here and adapted to my own purposes
Syntax to use for the function: SendNotesMail "recipients", "Body Message", "Additional Text", "Subject"
Code:
Public Function SendNotesMail(strSendTo As String, strBody As String, strExtraText As String, strSubject As String)
'This public sub will send a mail and attachment if neccessary to the recipient including the body text and additional comments from the Active record
DoCmd.OutputTo acOutputReport, "REP09emailnotification", acFormatRTF, "x: endersgroup tendering databaseTenderUpdate.rtf", False
Dim Subject As String
Dim Attachment As String
[Code] ....
So I guess my question is: how do I get my recipients from a table into the strsendto?

I have a table called Contacts in Access:
ID Email
001 email1
002 email2
003 email3
004 email4
008 email5
010 email6
And I have a table called Data in Access:
ID Date Person Title Yes/No Action
001 20/4 Mr A Consultant
001 20/4 Mr B Supervisor
001 20/4 Mr C Consultant
004 20/4 Mr D Consultant
010 20/4 Mr E Consultant
010 20/4 Mr F Supervisor
What I'm looking for is coding that would start with the first ID number in CONTACTS and see if there is the corresponding ID in DATA. If there is, then I want it to create an Outlook email and have:
1.To field populated with the email address in the CONTACTS table
2.From and CC fields to be my email address
3.The subject line needs to read [ID] "Request" and then today's date backward (e.g. 20150420).
4.The body I need to put some generic wording and then a table with the records from the DATA table (first 5 fields plus the headings).
5. The format of the table etc isn't important as long as it is a table format
If it's created the email I want it to go back to the DATA table and put "Email Created" in the Action column for those IDs.
I don't want the email to automatically send; I only want it to create a draft (as this data needs to be manually confirmed before sending).
If for example it gets to checking in DATA table for ID 002 (and as seen there's none there), I want it to skip creating the email and move on to the next ID.
In the end I would expect to see 3 draft emails open in Outlook ready to be sent, looking something like the below (just 001 below)?
From... my email
To... Email1
CC... my email
Subject: 001 Request 20150420
action the below:
ID Date Person Title Yes/No
001 20/4 Mr A Consultant
001 20/4 Mr B Supervisor
001 20/4 Mr C Consultant
And the DATA table look like this (if only 001 email was created):
ID Date Person Title Yes/No Action
001 20/4 Mr A Consultant Email created
001 20/4 Mr B Supervisor Email created
001 20/4 Mr C Consultant Email created
004 20/4 Mr D Consultant
010 20/4 Mr E Consultant
010 20/4 Mr F Supervisor
I will need to add more data to the CONTACTS table over time, also the DATA table will be different each day so I need the coding to accomodate for both of these possibilities.

I work in retail and am trying to compare items that are on auto-replenishment for a particular location to items that the location should have in their retail assortment to make sure that all of their items are on auto-replenishment. I need to also perform the comparison backwards to find out if any items are on auto-replenishment that should not be because they are not carried in the location's retail assortment.
I have attached a file below that shows the files I am working with. The first tab "items on replen" show the item # (in text and general formats) along with the location number, the min and the max. The 2nd tab "POG's by Center" show the retail planograms assigned to each center. The location# is at the top of the file and the planogram numbers fall below each location #. The 3rd tab shows the items on each planogram. The first thing I need to do is convert the planogram # into items on each planogram in each center. This is what I would need to use to compare to the items on replen.

I have two database applications and they are:
- the (A) application is for administration use.
- the (B) application is for normal users use.
the idea is that: I made the (A) application for administrators who have full control over the database objects (tables, forms, queries, and so on ...).
the (B) application I have created for normal users who will have only to use forms to insert some data and display data only.
but the two applications has a respective table called "vacation request" table. where I linked them, so the both administrators and users can share the data.
The real question is that: How can I prevent the users from seeing the database objects in their application. I used the database options which have helped me in hidding the database objectives when the users open the application, but unfortunately they managed to access to the database objects by pressing the special keys.
I would like to have an access to the (B) application when I want to make some modifications to the forms and then lock it from users where they only have to use the forms for requesting vacations and view the vacations.

I am working on a massave aplication that has been running in Access 2000, but recently several of the file sharing users have installed Access 2003 because of the limited availability of Access 2000. All the users are using the same file off the server.
The problem we are having is that when we reference a subform in the "[Forms]![FormName]![SubformName]![FeildName]" Access 2003 does not recognize it and returns an error. I have found that if I will modify it to "[Forms]![FormName]![SubformName].[Form]![FeildName]" it is recognized in both 2000 and 2003.
To try and change every instance of a subform reference will take forever and I am garuteed to overlook something. We reference subforms all over our program, missing any one of them would be a disaster. Before I went to the tedious task of looking through everything I just wanted to throw the situation out there and see if any of you had any great ideas on how to get it fixed efficiently. I would apreciate any ideas.

I was wondering can MS Access do a range compair look up. I have 2 tables. One is the Info table and the other is Rate table. The Info table has 3 columns like this:
[code]...
I want access to read the Info table and pick up the values in the FICO, LTV and Type and compair it. Like with the above example. In the Info table FICO = 622. So then I want it to carry the number 622 down into the Rate table and compare that the number 622 is in FromFICO and ToFICO column to find where does 622 falls in between. In this case there are nine rows in the Rate table that 622 is between 620 and 629. The next criteria is the LTV number in the Info table. It's 76. So back into the Rate table looking for the number 76. And 76 is happen to fall between 75.01 and 80.00 in the FromLTV column and ToLTV column. Next back to the Info table is the Type column which is 2. Now back to the Rate table to look up the Type column for Type = 2. So from FICO = 622 , LTV = 76 , Type = 2...So the rate I want to populate is 0.25...So is this possible to do in Access?
