I am embedding a MS Access 2003 Database form into web page (iframe) by creating a "Data Access" form.
I have created it all and it works fine. But there is one last thing i need to sort out.
When the user clicks the Submit button (Really a Save Record Button), i would like the button to also forward the visitor to a basic "Thank You" html page, in the actual iframe. At the moment the record saves, but it doesn't give the visitor any acknowledgement that they submitted successfully.
What code do i need to add to the <Button> code on the Data Access form, in order to create a hyperlink. I am not too familiar with VB.
I created a table about films and i made a form so i can see each movie in a different record. I wanted to create a button which generates a link to the movie's internet website. But when i create a button i cant put a different hyperlink for each record of the form.
My idea is the button to have a logo of the site so that is why i cant just put a link in a text box. I also tried embedding a hyperlink to a picture but again i had the same problem.. there was only one hyperlink for all the records .
I have have a form with 4 subforms in it, one of the subforms is based on a filtered query . For a reason I can not work out I cannot get it to requery when I add a new record.
To add a new record I select from a combo box and use a command button to save the record
I have tried using this in the buttons on click event
I have a form named CORRES_TYP with 3 text boxes and a list box. I also have a separate table with 3 field from where the information I put in the form was saved.
In my form whenever I put information on the textbox at hit add record button, these information are saved in my table and will reflect on the listbox on my form below the textboxes. Also if I select a record in the Listbox the record I selected will apprear on the corresponding textbox in the same form.
My problem is that I have been trying to create a command button that will save and change the existing record everytime I select an item in the list box and modify the information through the textbox. Here are some infromation about my table and form:
Table name = CORRES_TYP Field 1 = CODE (Primary key, No Duplicates) Field 2 = DESCRIPTION Field 3 = FOLDER
Form name = CORRES_TYP Textbox 1 = CODE Textbox 2 = DESCRIPTION Textbox 3 = FOLDER Listbox name = LIST14
In Access I have created a button to print a preview prior to printing document it is entitle "NoVeteranMain" which works fine. Except I want it to save my document prior to printing preview how would I do it. If not after I edit it I have to re-save it prior to hitting button which generates print preview.
This is code that is generate upon click
Private Sub NoVet_Click() DoCmd.OpenReport "NoVeteranMain", acViewPreview, , "ClientID = " & Me.ClientID End Sub
I have a form which contains one subform. On the subform I have a command button which saves the record just entered. On the main form I have a "refresh form data" button which updates the main form so that the calculated controls can show the correct results based on the data just entered?
Can anyone tell me how I can get the "save record" button in the subform to subsequently refresh the data in the main form as well, thus saving a button???
I have a form with multiple textboxes and comboboxes that allow for user entry, and a subform displaying a table, where the entries from the form are saved and can be retrieved. It's basically a way of creating new task entries and editing existing ones from a single interface.
One of the fields is an "issue number" of sorts, which is a 5-digit code that identifies the task. We have a website where details of each task are stored, and the URL format is akin to this: [URL] ....
The functionality that I'm hoping for is that when the user saves the record, it will be saved as the full link address, by concatenating the static first portion of the address and the code entered by the user. However, I need the table to still only display the code, not the whole link address, and will follow the full address when clicked in the subform table.
I have a button that, when clicked upon, I would like to hyperlink to one folder--the location of which being specified by a value the user selects from a combobox.
Example of what I would like to happen: 1)The user selects the Ship Name "AGER 2-Pueblo" from the combobox list. 2)The user clicks the "Go To Ship Folder" button to go to this ship's folder. 3)Access takes "AGER 2-Pueblo" from the combobox and tacks it on the end of the general address of "C:Documents and SettingsDesktopShip Stuff" so that the folder "C:Documents and SettingsDesktopShip StuffAGER 2-Pueblo" opens.
I tried searching for this...but found nothing except the application.followhyperlink code, which I can't get to do this. Can this be done? I would appreciate any help.
Ok I have a Continuous form that in one of it's fields contains Hyperlinks. The form is named [Song Info] and the field is [Play]. I want this field to be hidden and have a command button open up the hyperlink in that recordset. I think that all the info need but if not let me know.
.I'm trying to pass a field ([txtUPRN]) in a form to a hyperlink or button on the form.
e.g. [URL]
I thought I could add a hyperlink and simply change the part 'jlocation = 26800' to 'jlocation = Me![txtUPRN]' but this would be too easy as it doesn't work. THe URL still opens a web page but displays no data. Do I have to be more explicit as to what I'm passing in i.e. use the full form name or am I going about this the wrong way?
I am attempting to create a form (Access 2013) that will include buttons to open the hyperlink menu to add a hyperlink into a table. It works if you click "Ok" without issue, however, if you click "Cancel" or click on the "X" I get a "Run-time error '2501' - The RunCommand action was cancelled". This is obviously referring to the RunCommand in the VBA code. The code does not reference the cancel or close option of the hyperlink editing box. I don't know how to correct this error.
Code:
Private Sub Command9_Click() Me.[Hyperlink].SetFocus DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdInsertHyperlink Command9_Click_Exit: Exit Sub
[code]....
Also, is there a way to get the hyperlink to populate as the full network path and not the drive letter?
ok, I have links to documents(reportLink) stored as type text in a table (Investigations). Each link is different per record.
I have a form that display information from this table. The field that holds the hyperlink is called reportLink on the form. On this form I would like to have a button that when clicked will open up the [reportLink] for that particular record. so this button will point to a different file each time the record is changed.
I have stumbled around this site and think I have to put the Application.FollowHyperlink code in the OnClick event for this button. However, I am clearly not doing it right as it isnt working. what is wrong with this:
Private Sub Command34_Click() Application.FollowHyperlink Me.[ReportLink]
I am trying to create a button that opens up a webpage. I get how to create a hyperlink on a button. The problem is, I need to open a specific page depending on the information in a text box.
The text box displays the tracking number for the current record. That number is populated automatically via a control source. The problem is that I need to open different web pages depending on the tracking number displayed. For example, UPS has a specific start to their number (1ZX....). Other trucking companies have a specific format, also.
So how do I tell it to look at the tracking number and then open the corresponding web page?
I have a field in a Table (tblMainFile) named "File Location" which contains a hyperlink for each of the files.I have a continuous form (from a query) which displays information from the tblMainFile table.the form shows a text box (with the hyperlink) which is clickable to take them to the link location.I would like to have a button which says (GET FILE) or a different text box which simply says "Get File" as opposed to the entire hyperlink.
I have a command button on a Web Mutli-Record form that is using a "= [Report_URL]" value within the Hyperlink Address property. This all seems to work other than the fact that when the link popups up it has a "#" on either side that basically makes it an invalid address. How do I get rid of the # signs to get the web address popup in the URL when a user clicks on the Command Button that is associated to the row the record is on.
Hey all I have added a yes no button to my save button, so users have the option to save the record or not. so the save yes works fine, but it is the save no I am having probelms with. I would like to click no, and have the changed not saved, clear that out and go back to the first record again kind of like undo. Thanks! Here is my current code: On Error GoTo Err_savebtn_Click PIN.SetFocus 'enable buttons insbtn.Enabled = True Command31.Enabled = True Command63.Enabled = True
'Save the current record Dim Answer As String Let Answer = MsgBox("Would you like to save your changes?", vbYesNo, "Save record Confirmation") If Answer = vbYes Then DoCmd.DoMenuItem acFormBar, acRecordsMenu, acSaveRecord, , acMenuVer70 exitedit Else exitedit Call firstbtn_Click End If Exit_savebtn_Click: Exit Sub
Relatively new to databases. I have designed a few using tables, forms. reports etc and have a switchboard open up on start up. When entering details in the switchboard form I need to press enter to save the record. I noticed that on some databases there is a button which you press to save the record. Pardon me for being pretty dumb but how do I add this to my forms.
Is it possible to create a save button or don't add button? In case the user enters partial data and decides exit the form they can hit a "Don't Save" button so it does not update the table with partial data.
I am trying to create some code for a button in a report that will follow a hyperlink to a specific file. The problem I'm having is that the files that are at the end of the hyperlink can have various extensions (*.doc, *.docx, *.pdf, etc.) I'd like to be able to put a wildcard in the code to allow the opening of the file regardless of the extension.
Code so far:
Private Sub Command6_Click() Application.FollowHyperlink ("C:UsersjbeggDocumentsAccessTestFolder" & [FileName] & ".*") End Sub
The other night I was playing around and deleted code from my database, which now seems to have stopped allowing me to continue to a blank form after I add a record....
It used to work, that once I pressed the save button it would then goto the same form but the form would have the same defaults as if id just opened the form.... now im getting #deleted
Is there any code I can put in the save button to get it back to the way it was before?
i have a form with subform in it, and when i press the save button in the main form it saves only the records in it but it wont save the records in the subform
i found on microsoft this code DoCmd.Save acForm, "New Employees Form"
how can i use it to save both the main form and subform together
After I enter data into one field in a record I would like the form to save the record when I move to another field in the same record. It seems that the record is only saved when I exit it entirely. Is there a way to save a record when moving between fields in that record? Can this be done without using an Event Procedure for each field?
I am working on a database and i have notice after making a form that when i enter a record using a form if i enter incomplete data on the form access automatically save that record and generate a id for that record.
For example I have a table that contain
StudentID,StdName,FatherName,DOB,Adress,Phone
And I have created a form for that table that also containing these fields.
Here I want to do that on the form I want a "Save" button , and the purpose of this button that when I click on this button then MS Access Save the record and then generate the ID for that record and if i close my form without pressing "SAVE" button access do not save that incomplete record.
I have a main form and a sub form. Tbhidden and tbpropersave are the text boxes that govern the update procedure. The main form has two text box that i use to prevent the user from modifying the information on the main form without clicking my custom save button. the problem is that the subform should be completed after the information on the main form has been filled in. The Update code i have refuses to allow me to complete the subform without first clicking the save button on the main form. Here is the code. I wana be able to fill in info in the main form, then the sub form then click save. The sub form is a table which relates to the main form table Many to One.
Private Sub Form_BeforeUpdate(Cancel As Integer) On Error GoTo Err_Form_BeforeUpdate
Me.tbhidden.SetFocus
If Me.tbPropersave.Value = "No" Then Beep MsgBox "Please Save This Record!" & vbCrLf & vbLf & "You can not advance to another record until you either 'Save' the changes made to this record or 'Undo' your changes.", vbExclamation, "Save Required" DoCmd.CancelEvent Exit Sub End If
Exit_Form_BeforeUpdate: Exit Sub
Err_Form_BeforeUpdate: If Err = 3020 Then 'Update or CancelUpdate without AddNew or Edit Exit Sub Else MsgBox Err.Number, Err.Description Resume Exit_Form_BeforeUpdate End If
Private Sub Save_Click() If IsNull(cboEmpName) Then MsgBox "Please Select Employee Name" Me.cboEmpName.SetFocus End If If Me.txtNoofDaysWorked.Value = "0" Then MsgBox "Please Enter No of Worked Days"
