Sending A Form From Access Via Outlook To A Specific User
Aug 12, 2015
I have built a Travel database and what I'm trying to accomplish is sending the form. For instance, If I fill out the form with the travel information, expenses, destination, etc. at the bottom I specify a manager who needs to approve my request. I have two command buttons one to save the record and the other to submit. What I would like to happen is that when the person filling out the form clicks the submit button an email generates to the manager they've selected with a link of that specific form in the message body. Then when the manager receives the link they go in open the form approve it and then when the manager clicks the submit button I would like it to send the form to our financial personnel.
I've got information stored per row with the name of the person which data-entried the information. If a user wants feedback from that user on that specific row i would like to make it able to send a mail to the data-entrier. The data-entrier name should be clicked in the row and that specific row should be attached in the mail.
I can store e-mail addresses of my data-entriers in the database, how do i achieve to send the mail address and specific row to outlook when a user clicks it?
after spending wweks perfecting a database which centres on the ability to email the contents of what you have just entered i find that our stirling IT dept haven't actually setup any of my intended users with outlook profiles and do not intend to. Therefore whenever they try and send an email they get the dialog box you get when trying to connect to the internet for the first time. Which is obviously a problem.
Is there any way around this or is there any alterntive i can use? my IT dept dont promise to setup any outlook profiles soon and im hoping there may be something else i can do before the project gets binned.
I am trying to figure out how to make a button that sends an email to a specific email address, containing the information from 1 row.
we have rows where we put the the address, the quantity and the time interval we can collect the packages in. these information have to be send to a trucking company. I want access to send an email to the trucking company's email address, and not a whole report of all the rows, but be able to choose to send row 1,2,3 etc.
I have been able to successfully set up code to be able to add appointments to microsoft outlook based on data within a few forms that I have. My question is this however, how do I get access to make that appointment to a specific calendar on outlook. This calendar is a shared calendar. Currently, access is just adding the appointments to "My Calendar" and I could like it to place the appointment on "HVCalendar". a version of the code I found online is listed below:
Private Sub btnaddappttooutlook_Click() 'On Error GoTo ErrHandle
Dim olNS As Object Dim olApptFldr As Object
' Save the Current Record If Me.Dirty Then Me.Dirty = False
I have made a form to send emails, I used this code I found somewhere:
Code: Private Sub cmdEnviarOutlook_Click() Call EnviarEmail(Me.txtEmail, Me.txtAsuntoEmail, Me.txtLeyenda) End Sub
[code]...
I configured Outlook with my gmail account. The code works fine (after adding references) but when I take a look to the sent-box in Gmail, I find that the email is duplicated. If I send an email normally or even using docmd.sendobject, that doesn't happen.
One more question. I tried this function in two computers and in one of them Outlook asks for permission while it does not in the other one. I believe it is related with Outlook config.
with the linking tables thing to outlook can it be reversed. ie if i have a table that was linked to outlook outbox would the records form an email just like the emails from my inbox form a record.
i wanting to send emails automatically to many recipients. so i would have to use a record set and i thought that if i build the email in a record then have outlook pick it up then that would be the easiest way.
I am a College Instructor and I would like to make a Database that will regularly email me a list of Students who are approaching the mid-point of their Program. Is it possible to program Access to email a list with Student Names, Registration Numbers, etc, etc. by a given date?
As of right now I have a Database with all of the students' pertinent information but I have to manually comb through the Database each week to see which students will require a Mid-Term interview that week.
Using Access 2010; I have code that generates multiple emails to send using outlook. It works fine except that all emails go to my draft folder and I have to go the outlook and send them individually. This is fine when I have under 10 emails; but sometime it can get up to 50 or even 100 emails. What I have to do to send them from my draft all at once. The emails go to draft to inspect for errors.
I have a query where I collect data for different vendors and their purchase orders, products deadlines etc.
Is it possible via access to generate a report and via outlook send in the email body a message where is showing the purchase order date of delivery and priority? Or can that be done via a form?
I have access db sending report with outlook every Monday.
But the problem is if outlook is open when I start the db, email goes in to outgoing folder and msg box of outlook opens saying " outlook will close after countdown if I do not hit the "DO NOT EXIT" button or "EXIT AND SEND LATER" button.
If I hit "EXIT AND SEND LATER" button, it sends next time I open the outlook.
I have a staff database in my office which holds, amongst other things a list of staff holiday taken. Presently the staff have no access to view holidays because they will also be able to view other employees details. What I need to do is enable members of staff to see their own holiday, but no others and Im really not sure how to go about it.
I have a workgroup in place; so each user has their own login/password.
I am having a problem restricting a user from a certain form. I have a module that detects if a user or admin based on the roles entered in the employees table.
If their windows login is not listed in the employees table, they will not be able to view any of the forms.
Here's my problem, I want the users to access the switchboard, but they should not be able to get into the reporting button.
here's my code: If LOAStatusbtn.Caption = "View Report" _ And Not admin _ Then 'useraccess denied because not an admin error_text = "You do not have privileges to access this screen." & vbCr & "Please contact an administrator" MsgBox error_text, , "No Privileges"
End If
If they click on LOAStatusbtn and their role is not admin, then a message should pop up.
I searched the forum and could not find anything similar to this.
I have a User Main Menu as seen below with the command buttons for New Work Log Entry and Edit Work Log Entry. The New Work Log entry opens a blank Work Log as shown below. The Work Log form's record source is tblWorkLog. The user will fill out all the fields except the End Page and Total Worked Pages. The user will then exit out of the database. When ready to enter the total worked pages the user log back in to the db and will click on the Edit Work Log Entry.
This is supposed to open up the last entry the current user was working on so that he or she can enter the End Page and Total Worked Pages
Currently it is opening up the last entry of the table even if it was a different user's.
How can I change this? I need it where it opens up the last record for that person. There are going to be 50 users so I can't have it open up to the last record of the table.
Query collect all the information about the unfinished business at the base and at the start-up of the base shows form reminders.
The base is splitet into front and back end, and are located on the server. Each user is assigned rights what can be done in the database.
The problem where I am "stuck" is to make the form reminder that can be seen only by those users whose jobs are not completed and not all users of the database. Each user uses his computer with your username and password. I tried to connect to form reminder with this information, but I failed.
I was wondering how difficult it would be to do the following:
1. A user opens up a form. 2. The user uses a combo box to select his/her name. 3. There is a date combo box on the form and by default, it is set to today's date. So when the user selects his/her name, the records for today are displayed. Changing the date will show only the records for the date shown. 4. The user will have the ability to add and delete records specific to the criteria chosen in the text boxes. Adding new records will only add records for the date chosen in the combo box. E.g. if he/she adds a record for today, it will only be seen when today's date is selected.
Will a subform have to be used for something like this? Or could it be done with one form using filters?
Any thoughts and/or approaches on this would be greatly appreciated.
i am currently developing a database what i need to do is to restrict user to view selected record and change them. i have build a login form in which i have two areas as a user name in combobox and a password text box. i have another form in which i have a combo box named area what i need to do is to limit the area combo based on the selection of the user login form previously. for example if a user select LAS VEGAS in user combo and enters its password after clicking the button login the another form appears in which thier respective stores and sales are saved, their is a combo box named area in which i want to limit it by LAS VEGAS i mean it would only show LAS VEGAS in drop down based on the previous selection in login form.
When I send an email from Access with SendObject, how does it determine the user name, the 'from' name. Is it just the user's Outlook name? Do I have any control over that?
have a vba code written to have my MS Access 2007 tell Outlook to send an e-mail with several attachments to whom it may concern, but I need it to change the "From" field in the e-mail, because there's many people who can send this, but it's looking like it's all being sent as my user. This is the code, it all works, but it doesn't change the sender field. Should I make some sort of auto-login macro or something?

I'm working on a vacation/time off tracker and was hoping to use the collect data feature. I've created a form where a user submits their requested date and number of hours, at which point I'd like the form to be sent to their manager for approval. The manager's email address is stored in a table. Once the manager marks yes or no, I'd like that reflected in the time off requests table, and an email sent to the requester letting them know if it was approved or not. Is this possible? How would I go about it. I'm pretty new to Access, learning on the fly, but I'm pretty good at modifying code to match my situation/working backwards if you have any examples for me to look at.
I've searched everywhere for a solution to this problem....and every site I come to has numerous examples of how to save Outlook Contact data into a database, but nothing on how to automatically store info from forms into Access table.
So, I assume the code will be in Access. When you run the macro it will look in a certain email folder, return all of the data within the forms in that folder and store it into an Access table.
Does ANYBODY know how to do this? I thought it'd be a much more common problem than it appears to be??
I am close to getting code to send an email from access with the body of the email populated with a Rich Text textbox from my access form. The problem I am having is that the body of the email is converted to plain text in Outlook which is creating problems for me. How to identify what I can do to convert to rich text or HTML in Outlook? I also want to attach a table that is populated by a query in my application, but i haven't got that far yet.
I am opening a new mail message in outlook using a button in a form.I want to change the "from" email address to a specific inbox (NOT personal email). Even though the email address is switched, after I hit sent and check my sent items - the email is actually sent from my personal email address and not from the inbox email address i wanted it to be sent from. I have access/permission to sent emails from the other inbox.
Is there a way to make sure emails are sent from specific email addresses and not ONLY personal inbox. What I read online is probably because of some "network" connection issues. Is there a way refresh connection between access and outlook? I am not even sure what the problem is.
