Sub Form Displays Master Record

Hello I have a small problem that seems weird. I have a form which displays a subform with all correspondending jobs for one individual. The problem is the sub form displays the main form information with the other jobs. Im trying to stop the subform from displaying the current mainform's job information. So it won't look like there are more then 1 of the same jobs to other individuals. Can someone help me with the correct method to stopping this. Thanking you in advance,

I have a form that contains 4 sub-forms. In two of the Sub-Forms "Users" and "Computers" the form displays the PK on the second row when there is NO Data? (See attached).
Does anybody know how I can stop this from displaying?

I have got problem with ms access report. I want to make a report which is based on
1) first master table
2) first slave table
3) second slave table
I have done some research and decided to do some form with subform. So I have got the view one record from master table and many record from slave tables in one view.
But it turned out that it has become duplicate records. (the relationship are ok - it duplicate master record as many as slave records)
So:
1) how i can do ms access report from multiple tables - one master record with multiple records form slaves tables

I have a master table with about 40 fields. In addition, I created eight child tables with read only datasheet views of limited fields from the master table. The child table views are based on certain critera in the master table and are being refreshed by using delete and append queries tied to the On Current property of a form. By double-clicking a specific child record, a form is opened to allow editing of the master record. Also, I am using Referential Integrity and Cascade Update Related Fields to update the child table when a change is made to the master. However, I do not know how to add a record to one or more child tables when a record is added to the master table. The new child record would have to be based on the same critera that the append queries use so it gets added to the correct child table or tables.

I have cmdButton that opens a form (frmPics) that when it opens it displays three bitmaps pertaining to record being view at the time. Originally I had an embedded macro do this. This is what is listed in the embedded macro:

Expecting it to open just the form without the reference to the Id, and then I would study how to write code for a where statement.It still reference the record that I am on. Since I am switching from embedded macro to VBA for the sake of learning VBA I am perplexed by this happening.

I have three tables: First, Second, and Third.The tables Second and Third each have a column with a default value of "X".I'm creating a query that selects fields from First table that JOIN with corresponding fields from Second and Third, so that all records from First are represented and only matching records from Second and Thirdare returned. I also select the "X" fields from Second and Third.
So I run the query: and the "X" column from Second only displays "X" for records that have a match in Second (since I mean for these fields to be quick indicators for if the record also appears in the other tables, this is my ideal result). However, the "X" column from Thirddisplays "X" for all rows, regardless of whether the record has a match in Third or not.
I can get more specific if need be, but I really can't tell why the one is displaying according to matching records but the other is always on. The JOINs are set correctly and the properties for the columns all check out.

Hi there!
I'm trying to use an Invoice number from an Invoice form to populate a table of Invoice Lines with relevant records (linking by Invoice number). I realise the following SQL code isn't an append query, but I've simplified it to make it easier to explain
SELECT [Forms]![fInvoices]![SPInvNumber] AS MTInvNumber, tInvoices.SPInvNumber
FROM tInvoices
WHERE (((tInvoices.SPInvNumber)=[Forms]![fInvoices]![SPInvNumber]));
The output I get for this query is something along the lines of:
MTINvNumber | SPInvNumber
쉠 | 49760
THe MTInvNumber should read the same as the SPInvNumber, but it doesn't. If you can't see the above, its some sort of weird chinese/japanese character I think!
I thought maybe it was a display error, but I tried using it in my append query, and it inserted it as garbage too. The weirdest bit is it actually regards the form information as equalling the SPINvNumber from the tInvoices table! :S
Any clues on how I get it to format correctly??? I'm very tired now so it's bound to be something simple!

Hello, please could anyone tell me if is it possible to have a combo box in a form that displays just the last 7 days? (from whatever today’s current day is) I need to be able to store this date that the user selects in a query/table(Currently I have a field named SHIFT_DATE that the user enters a date into this field, this field is bound/linked to a query)Ie a drop down list showing the dates like this:15/02/200614/02/200613/02/200612/02/2006& so on……ive used the following code in a query before to display records from just the last 7 days >=DateAdd("d",-7,Date())I thought maybe I could do something similar in a combo box but I’ve had no luck so far :-( any suggestions would be excellent. Thanks.

Hey guys,
I was wondering... is there a way to have a listbox display values associated with a parent form ID? in other words... say I have a customer with invoices associated with their name, I want to display a form for that customer with a listbox (or maybe even subform) containing the invoice IDs associated with their name.
Right now, I've got:
SELECT qryClientData.InvoiceID, qryClientData.InvoiceDate FROM qryClientData ORDER BY [InvoiceDate]; to display information in the listbox. How do I modify this to display ONLY Invoices associated with the Clientname on the parent form?
I hope this makes sense. I can clarify if need be, I am just completely stumped. thanks and happy holidays!

I have a form with a subform in it. On the main form, I have a combo box with a list of program numbers to choose from. Once one is selected, the subform displays all the unpaid invoices under that program number. This part works fine. The problem occurs when I try to close the form, switch to design view, or scroll the subform to the right. Basically, the error message says that the record can't be saved because it would create a duplicate value in the index/primary key. However, this form is used to display information only. I have disabled the edit, delete and addition abilities, so I can't figure out why it thinks I am trying to change or add a new record. Any help would be appreciated.
I figured it might make things easier if I included a copy of the database, so here it is.
The form is called SETR, and the subform is AllInfo subform.

why access 2007 is displaying an image oddly on a 2003/2008 terminal server farm. I am reasonably sure the problem is an access on terminal server issue because if you view the image in paint, image viewer, or word it displays fine on the terminal server. I don't think it is a resolution or color issue because once again it displays fine in paint, etc regardless of color depth.
The image below shows the difference in the png graphic. The image is transparent (the blue section being the background)

I have created a master form, which is a tab style. I have five additional forms that I want to use as sub-forms within each tab. I also want to include master navigation buttons that will work for each sub-form in unison. In other words if I navigate to record 10 on tab 1 and switch to tab 2, I want the new tab to show the information related to record 10. It would appear that I need to link them together in some fashion.

There are total three tables tblInternal, tblExternal, tblCourses. Table
tblInternal and tblCourses is one to many relationship by reference foreign
key InternalID from tblCourses to tblInternal. If I just use these two table
to set up Master form and subform in ACCESS, you can in subform Field Linker
window of subform property Data tab select primary and foreign key to
generate link between Master and subform. So if you select user name from
tblInternal in Master form ComboBox, you can see the detailed information the
user relates to.
Same relation between tblExternal and tblCourses.
Now I want to merger tblInternal, tblExternal to list user name in ComboBox
by Union statement. But in SubForm Field Linked window I just see one primary
key from one of these two tables instead of two primary keys from each table.
How to solve this issue?

Hi,
I have a form with a subform. In the subform (based on a different form) I need a button to close the master form. In the subform I need to find out what the master form is so I can close it. Since I use the same subform in multiple forms I can't really hard code the name of the master form.
Can someone help me?

Hi,
I have 2 forms, a master and a subform.
In the subform form there are some required fields. In the table behind the subform I choose the property of these fields to be required.
but in the master form, when I start enter the information I can go to the next record without even touching the subform.
How Can I make the subform required in the master form?

If I have a check box on Master Form and make it there is a tick in it, can I make a check box on the sub form do the same i.e.

My bound master form has bound subform in it and both of them has linked fields. In the master form i've placed a checkbox which if unchacked will lock and disable a textbox in the SUBFORM, and if checked will enable and unlock the textbox and fill it with a calculation result, which will then be passed on to the underlying table.
Now, suppose in the master form (named X), i have A (checkbox) and B (textbox with numeric value) and in the subform (named Y), i have C & D (both textboxes with numeric values). Hence if A is checked, I'd like D to return the result of - "B*C". Or else D will remain locked and disabled.

I have a Master form which includes tabs within the tab I have subforms. I am looking for a way to filter my master form based on data found within my sub form.
I have a check box within one of the sub-forms called "softwareInstall" if yes the box would be checked. I want to filter all customers within my main form with a check box in my main form to turn on and show all customer who has this box check within the subform SoftwareInstall=True.

How to structure some MS Access 2007 Forms for the following scenario.
My table structure is as follows:
Product
++++++
ID (pk)
ProductName
...
Tag
++++
ID (pk)
TagName
ProductTag
+++++++++
ProductID (fk)
TagID (fk)
I want to have a main form that allows me to search for and displays a list of all products (and the dozen or so attributes for each product) that meet that criteria (I'm thinking a continuous form view of products).
So far so good. No problems.
Now I want a "tagging" form to the right of my continuous forms product list that is linked to the product which currently has focus. The tag panel should always show a complete list of all Tags. I want a checkbox next to each tag that I can switch on and off whether that tag applies to the currently selected Product. I also want to be able to add tags on the fly (without leaving the main form).
I think I have three forms in play :
Main Form
Product Form (subform to Main) my product search criteria is probably on this form header.
Tag Form (also subform to Main)
But with this approach I'm have trouble linking the two sub forms to each other. Actually, I'm having huge trouble figuring out how to display the list of all tags with a check box that when checked on and off creates / deletes a record in the ProductTag table and I really want Access to do as much of the CRUD as possible. I would prefer to avoid writing screeds of SQL INSERTS/DELETES on events. Am I asking too much of Access?

I have a form, a subform and a master unique table. I need the unique table to updated in the following manner: Form has certain fields that need to be assigned to every record created in the subform[id] and [info1] Subform has a unique [caseid], and contains further [info2] but needs to be bound into [id] in the main form. Example of the master unique table:
id info1 caseid info2
1 aaa 1001 asd
1 aaa 1002 dfg
2 bbb 1003 fff
3 ccc 1004 ffg
3 ccc 1005 ggh
I've managed to accomplish this with a linked table&subform structure, but the master unique table looks like crap because it collapses the subform values into sub-records in the master table when the [id] is similar. The data is in the rigth place, i just want it not to be collapsed/expanded, but every unique recors shows in the table in the regular format

Hello,
I have a form and a subform in MS Access 2003. I have made some changes to database structure, so I decided to change the subform also. When I changed the Link child and link master fields, the controls of the subdatasheet dissapear- they show only in design view. If I clear the contents of Link child and link master fields they appear again, but the records are not binded.
Is there a setting on the parent form that also has to be changed, to make the new binding?

On the form testExam, I have a page control with 3 separate tabs. For each tab, I've embedded three separate subforms. All forms involved, including the container form (testExam) are bound to separate tables. All tables have one common field - PID
I'd like the user to only have to input the PID on one form, and have it trickle down to all subforms.
In the FOrm_Current sub of the testExam form, I have the following code:
Private Sub Form_Current()
[PID] = Forms!frmForm1.PID
End Sub
Using this code, I am able to pass the data from Form1 to testExam, have the PID on testExam filled in and on tab 2. But tab 1 will not populate automatically. I have no idea why. I don't know where to start troubleshooting this.
Please help.
Is this even a good way to pass data between subforms?

I have three tables that contain different columns but linked by a primary column call Name. I want to create a table where all these different columns in the three tables join to form a master table which can be updated regularly either through the master table or the smaller tables. The master table also has the primary column as Name.
If I update the master table with records, it should update the respective linked table and vice versa. I also want to link these tables to my SharePoint site.
Note: except the Name column, none of these tables have any other columns in common How do I go about this?
