Tables :: How To Get Information Inputted On Form To Store In Correct Table

I'm having some trouble getting my information that I input on my form to store in my correct table. I will attach my DB so you can take a look at what I have thus far.

Here is what I am wanting to do:

I have TblEmployee, TblEquipment and TblJunction and FrmTracking and FrmUpdate

I input the bulk of my information thru FrmTracking, my trouble is I can not seem to get the information that I input in my FrmTracking to store in the correct table. I can get the information to store in TblEmployee, however the information that I want to be stored in TblEquipment will not store in there.

Depending on what the value of Active_Customer is.

Tables :: Information Populating In Another Table Form?

I have created two tables. One table list of 100 Categories that I monitor each month. The Categories are never changing month-to month, however, each might be associated with a different client month-to-month. Presently, I am manually typing in the Client information month-to-month with information pulled from the Client's table. The Client's table has a Category Field which is populated when a Client has purchased space to use it.

In essence, I have the Category Table (Fields: Record Number; CategoryName; Client Name; beginning date the client will use the Category and Ending Date the client will stop using it). The Client's Table has a lot more fields/information but it still has the same fields as the Category Table. I am trying to be able to use the Category Table and have it automatically populate with the client who is using the Category at that time. Any Category not being used by a Client then the Query should write "Open" in the Client's name field. I have tried many different scenarios but can't seem to get it to work. I must see all 100 Categories each time I run a report. It doesn't have to say "Open" but where ever a client did not use the Category it should be left blank.

Tables :: Correct Table Relationship?

I am in the beginning of setting up a database and have NOT messed with multiple tables. I just want to make sure that I am setting up the tables as well as the relationships correctly.Here is what I currently have, 4 tables and they are named. Employee, phone, radio and spotter. Employee table is where my primary key is located and I currently have a 1-to-many relationship between Employee and the others.

What I want to be able to do is to store information in the multiple tables from 1 form, which I don't think will be an issue and then at a later date be able to pull up information. EX.Thus being able to skip anything being put into the spotter table. Then at a later date be able to pull up only the select information I originally put it?

I have not developed a database application before. At my work I was seconded to fill in as a team lead for a change management team. We are in a production environment and need to track the progress of product improvements. The current system is very complicated using an enormous Excel spreadsheet and a very bid MSProject schedule. It is very handraulic in the way it is maintained.

Before I started I reviewed who inputs data, who uses the data, and what metrics are reported. I can reduce the amount of data that is recorded by only generating many of the existing Excel fields through calculation run when a report is generated or a chart populated.

I need to track the state of several hundred minor changes through the production run. The reference data I need to store is serial number against production batch. This is fixed data that is not changed, only used as to show the entry point of a change into the production line and which serial numbers the change is applied to.

I am still new at database design, and cant quite come to terms with my project and access way of doing things.

I have to keep a register of people who participate in projects. The projects can be of two different kinds. BUT (here comes the tricky part) The projects are being evaluated on three different indicators, with each one of these having 4 measurements, in the range of 4-0. That was a quick introduction. Now let me break it down in parts.

The people:

I have made a Uniqe identifier (Social Security number (PK))

First Name
Last Name
Department (This can be 4 different departsment) made a drop-down menu type.

The Projects:

Unique identifier (Project ID (PK))
Social Security number
Project Type
Start date
End date

Project type:

Unique identifier (TypeID (PK)
Project type (Cti / Regular)

How might i design this the best way, so i can combine the people with the projects there on. And which type.

There can only be one person, but he can be on many projects. These projects can vary in type. My problem is ensuring there connected proberly.

Furthermore, once the basic design is made i need to make evaluations based on their performance if they are on the projecttype "Cti".

here i need 3 x this:

Evaluations:

Objective (range 0-4)
Baseline reading (range 0-4)
Midway reading (range 0-4)
End reading (0-4)
Success = Yes/NO (here i will do a End reading <= Objective formula).

That was a rather long list, but i have sat working on this in three whole days, and im getting a little fed up with not knowing up-and-down.

Subform Correct Answer Adds To Number Correct In Main Form

Then when clicked it checks a yes/no box to see if "A right Answer" is the correct yes. Then it should pop to the main form and take the number correct cell and add one to it. I am trying to get the record to go to the next record inside the sub-form but docmd.findnext seems to be wrong too.

Field To Automatically Fill With Correct Value Based On Information In Multiple Fields

I have a database in which we are trying to have a field "Headcount" automatically fill with the correct value based on information in multiple fields. The "Headcount" field will be based on about 6 or 7 rules. Most of the rules i can figure out, but im having trouble figuring out what the best way would be to search for a single individual's projects when they are on more than one project at a time. I thought about using a counter of sorts to count how many projects someone was one, but how do I pick them out of the entire table once i have found out the number of projects? Would a for loop work best or just many if statements?

I am brand new to building a database.What I want is a database to store Quote, Job and Invoicing information. We receive quotes first and then they can, but don't always, turn into jobs. We can also receive a job without quoting it. We currently have two spreadsheets. One is for Quotes and the other is for Jobs.

As you can see a lot of the information in the Quote spreadsheet is also used in the Job spreadsheet. (Bold represents duplicated items) We currently type the information into each spreadsheet.

Then there are different forms that are filled out for quotes and jobs that contain the information in the spreadsheets.Is there a way that I can have the QUOTE Table automatically populate the JOB Table information?

Would Like To Store RecordID From Subform Into Form Table

This is either a no brainer or falls into the calculated field syndrome.

My HR database stores Employee job history records. I display the current job (condition Null EndDate) in a subform. I would like to store the Division ID of this Job in the Employees Record, to make it easier to create Divisional reports. I am able to display the value by setting the Data Source to the subform field name value, but it won't write the value to the table. I have to manually type it in. There's definately some learnin' here!

I essentially created an account since I can't seem to find a straightforward answer much anywhere else (plenty of hints on auto-filling forms- but that isn't particularly conducive to my specific need on this).

I've attached a blank copy of my database.

The immediate concern I'm having is that I want to be able to autofill data in the invoice table based on the customer table and the products/service table.

*I want to be able to select a first name [or other primary key if necessary] to fill in the last name, company, address, city/state/zip, phone, fax, cell/alt phone, and email automatically... that is without multiple dropdown selections or input to those sections at all.

*I want prices to fill in to the 'cost of product/service X' so that I may use it for other calculations in the invoice table- as well as to make forms from it directly.

Tables :: Set Up Table To Add Information On Daily Basis

I am tracking extreme useage on account numbers. I've set up a table to add the information on a daily basis.

Currently the table has the following Fields:

Report_Date / Account / Usage / Sent / Received / Comments / Notes
(the Sent and Received fields are Y/N)

I've gotten a report to send working as I want, but I am running like 6 queries to put all the data together correctly. For example; if an account was flagged today and sent today I do not want to send another notice for the next 5 days; but I still want to log the data in the table for historical reasons... Again, this all works. Just that it is not pretty..

The part that I keep fighting is the responses. When I receive a response I want to log that. Right now, I check the Received flag, and add in any comments the customer sends back. This is easy. But I also want to print that information out on the report - just the latest information. For example, if I send a notice out on 11/1/12, 11/18/12, 12/14/12, and 1/10/13 and I have responses back from all of these logged in the table, when this account number gets printed again - say today - I want to add to that report JUST the comments from the 1/10/13 report.

How to insert a timer in the PropertyFrm Form in the Access Database attached to this message. When a user opens the PropertyFrm form I want the timer to record the number of hours, minutes, and seconds each user spend time on a record including the current dateand have the data stored in the Timer table.

Queries :: Expression Field - Update User Inputted Date On A Form

I created a query with one expression field that updates a user inputted date field on a form. The expression adds a certain amount of time to the field (usually six months) so I know when the next inspection should take place. Everything works great except when I put a parameter in the expression field. It will not return the property dates. If I simply remove the expression, and input the date manually, it works just fine. Am I not allowed to use date parameter with an expression? It returns every date within the correct month, but will give me future years as well.

The expression is - NextInspectionDate: DateAdd("m",12/[InspectionFrequency],[LastInspectionDate])

General :: Using Recorsets - Loading Form With Information From Different Tables

I have tried on different forms using more than a few different methods to make recordsets happen and to no avail. My current reason for needing to use recordsets is because I am loading a form with information from different tables. Instead of using multiple DLookups, opening the recordset only looks for the information once, speeding up the load time on the form.

Making A Form To Call Up Information From A Table?

I'm making a customer survey database. Also be aware I'm not proficient with access.

All the customer information is being imported from an excel spreadsheet. That will include ServiceRecordID, ServiceDate, TechID, CustName, ServLocation, PhoneNum, and DeptID.

Another table will include records for answers to 5 questions that will be asked by a manager on the phone. That table is called TblQuestions. This table will also have ServiceRecordID to go with the answers.

What I'm trying to do is create a Form that at the top has a box for ServiceRecordID. I'd like to be able to type in the Number for that ID, and then all the information shows up on the form for that specific ID. And below all that, fields to add the answers to TblQuestions for that specific ServiceRecordID.

The reason I'm doing this is because the manager will get a report with the customer information that needs a follow up call. So I want them to be able to call up that information on the screen with the ServiceRecordID number, and also be able to add in the information that they get back from the customer with the questions that will be asked.

I don't know why I'm having so much trouble with this. But I'm not experienced with access or VBA both.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me.

I have a simple database, consisting of two tables and one form. I'd like the form to display information mainly from the first table (table 1). For this, I have used the Form Wizard, which works well and displays as it should. My problem comes when trying to display data from table 2, without using the Form Wizard.

I have a simple field called 'Number' in 'Table 2'. I'd like this value displayed in a text box along with table 1's data. I've tried using the expression builder, which gives me something along the lines of:

[tbl_Table 2]![Number]

But this is displayed as:

#NAME

...when I open the form. Could anyone explain how I do this correctly please? All I'm trying to do is display data from other tables in the form.

Any help is much appreciated.

Forms :: Form To Display Information From Junction Table?

I've established a many to many relationship using a junction table.

So I have 3 tables (A for "materials", B for "batches", and J for "junction")

Form A is linked to table A, and contains a subtable linked to a query from table J. This allows me to input materials into table A and then list all of the batches it may be used in that are in table B. I successfully got this to input all the batches and materials combinations in table J.

Now on form B, which is linked to table B, displays the batch information, with the subtable J.

My problem, is that only the materials primary key is showing, not the other information that should be linked from table A.
