I have a database of high-school football players, and I am looking to print out single page reports (or forms) that will show detail from several tables and queries. This will act as their resume when they visit schools on recruiting visits. The reason for needing query items, is that I have developed queries that return the most up to date height, weight, 40 time etc., and that single most up to date number is what should print, not the entire table. When I try to build a report it will let me bring in multiple tables, but not queries.
I have a form with a query assigned to it . it has also some controls to filter the data when i filter the data and there are any relevantr data for the results the form shows nothing for the query and it's true but the controls will be disappeared and i have to go out from the form and come in again to be able to filter the query again.
I am around 2 months working with access. I created an application/dataentry form and it was working very well. suddenly today, I got an error which says. Run-time Error 5 "Invalid Procedure Call or Argument. together with that or may be independent, a pop up search form just disappeared. I put a msgbox in form load of pop up form and the msgbox appears but the pop up form just disappeared.
I was about to give the application to use and thats when all these happened ...
I was recently doing a little Spring Cleaning in my database and deleting old tables and queries that were no longer used or had been for experimental purposes. Unfortunately, I unknowingly deleted a query that was being used by a report I still needed and it took me several hours to find and correct the problem.
Not wanting to repeat this mistake, I began searching for a way to display my reports, queries, and tables and all the objects each is linked to. I thought it would be nice, for instance, to have a hard copy list of all my queries that showed where they are derived from and what other objects reference them. Is there a way to do this?
I've tried using the "Relationships" button and working with the Documenter, but I haven't found what I'm looking for. I have also tried a Google search, but, admittedly, I may not be using the proper terminology to get good results.
I'm trying to create a database to track all the students details, I've created the data base with all the tables, relationship etc. i tested it with dummy data too and it worked fine.
I then imported the proper data from a .csv file, using the "File-Get External Data-Import" method rather than a macro, it imports the data with a couple of errors but the data still got through, i had previously created queries and reports and they worked fine with the dummy data but will not show any of the new imported data, its like it hasn't got a link or something but if i create a linked form, it will pick up the data, meaning the relationships are working. hence my problem
I have created a small database, and created a Main Menu (form), the main menu starts as soon as someone start my database, i have linked up all my forms & reports into this main menu. now i want to hide left panel bar that shows all the table, quires, forms & reports files (so nobody can access tables, quires, etc from that panel).
I KNOW I'm making this harder than it needs to be.... I have a union query that pulls from two sales tables. I'm setting up a report where a person can select a manager name, start date, and end date for those union'd sales. I can do all this no problem in the query, but I want to be able to have this information selected on a form, instead of through popups, to bring up the report. How do I link the form information to the query? I can't get the report to show information it "read" from the form. Does that make sense?
I have a db. I have created a search form which when you click the search button executes a query to find the required records. The query is currently outputting to printpreview of the query.
What i want to be able to do is have the option to select the correct record and then print it. The search can either be exact and return 1 record or use a wildcard and return a few records.
I have the report setup and working I just can't for the life of me figure out how to link everything.
I have a typical Access 2007 database with a main form that has combo boxes that are populated by other tables. To edit or add to the combo boxes I have separate forms. When I make the changes I want the combo boxes to be refreshed. I would imagine I can do it with a FormName.Refresh command. However, I am curious if there is a command to refresh all forms and reports in case I have more than one form open with combo boxes that link to the changed data.
Up until recently, when I selected multiple objects in design view (on a form) and right-clicked the mouse, I had several options in the 'Size' sub-menu (including 'Size to Widest / Tallest / Narrowest / Shortest').
Then I tried to be clever(!) and create a new custom toolbar which had just these options on it, as I use them frequently. This was all very well until now, when I can't find the custom toolbar I created, and the options have disappeared from the Size submenu aswell!
Has anyone got any ideas on how I can get them back??
(I have tried going into Customize to drag them back, but they're not there either! :( )
I'm currently facing a strange problem! When I want to insert a command-button, a drop-down menu etc. no userguides appear anymore. I like to do the most basic work in design-mode, so I kind of miss then a lot...

I've been playing around with creating a switchboard. At first, I saw a form appear in the forms area called switchboard. but now it's gone. I have a switchboard marked as Default under Switchboard Manager, I can see that a table has been created called Switchboard Items, but it won't open on startup. (obviously, because there isn't a form which I can point to in the startup box)
Any idea why the switchboard form is not being created?
I’m completely stumped … could be because its so late or my brain has just decided to give up on me!
Short of not going into too much detail, could someone advise … does one HAVE to create a query in order to create a report based on a form OR can one create a report based solely on a form?
Ok, so now this is where it's getting more complicated... (though I guess this is where you guys usually start)
When you have a query, and you type in your inputbox thingy like so: http://reenen.fateback.com/image.jpg
PeriodEnd: [Enter period end date dd/mm/yyyy: ]
And you can have multiple, then it will prompt you for several of them.
Now this is not very tidy, so I'd rather do it on a form. How can I display the form as the query/report runs, and insert the values entered into the form as the inputs into my variables? (This case PeriodEnd)
I have a problem that is very tedious. I have 9 separate copies of the same databse (there is a copy of each database for every branch of my company. Each database has small custom features that show what company it belongs to) i was told to make a new feature, and in the making, i had to make 40 new queries, 12 new forms 8 new macros, 12 new macros and 6 new forms. this feature needs to go into all of the databases. As far as i know, im going to need to copy and paste each individual query, form, macro and form. Thats 72 different things i will have to copy and paste into 9 separate databases. Does access provide an easier way to go about this? any help?
The Database Window within Access on my computer seems to have kinda half disappeared under all the toobars at the top of the screen. Each time i open it it seems to have moved further up. The problem is, that because it is underneath the toolbars, I can't click on the window of it to drag it back down! Now, its got so far up that i can't even select any of my tables, forms, queries or reports because i can't see them!
Its SOOO annoying! and i have no idea what to do about it!
I have imported the contents of my database into a new database, as all the testing is completed and want a clean start without any dummy data in it or anything. My main form which is where most of the interaction with the database goes on appears blank with no controls on it on form view. In design view, I can see everything (buttons, search fields, subforms etc) but turn into form view, it's blank (except the header). Does anyone know why this happened?
I have a orders sub form that was working great .Then all of asudden when i when to input information into the fields i realised the grid under variuos field names has disappered (Icant enter any info),surly this must be something i have accidentally done without realizing.
i am using MS Access 2010, i am on initial stage and i have to made main log in form or switch board, but as soon i create a blank form and click on button in design but only command button appeared but not along with command buttong wizards so i will select button to close application or to open a farm and so
I am trying to add a feature in my database dashboard that shows a list of hyperlinks that are the most frequently used forms and reports based upon the user. I can figure out how to capture the event each time the form or report is opened and update a record to increase the count, and build a recordset that will query the table filtering by user and order by frequency...
However, I am stuck on building the hyperlinks that will point to the correct form or reports dynamically.
Specifically, I am not able to update the subaddress using VBA. I get an error that the hyperlink cannot follow to the new form...
Here is my code:
Code: Private Sub Form_Load() Dim strUser As String Dim strApp As String strUser = Environ("username") strApp = "frmTest1" Me.txtUser = strUser Me.txtLink3 = strApp Me.txtLink1 = strApp Me.hypTest.Hyperlink.SubAddress = strApp End Sub
I am pretty new to VBA coding and need running queries on specific tables. This is part of a multistep process, of importing data that needs to be transposed before appending to the "cleaned" database. First, users will save auto generated, Excel workbooks from a machine into a designated folder. I have code that will import these workbooks (an unknown number at a time) into Access in separate tables by workbook.
Each table will have a similar name, but different extension (ie Sheet101, Sheet102, etc.). This is where the issue arises. The files are in long form, not wide. I have a series of queries (unfortunately, they're not SQL queries, but I can convert them to be) that transform the data from long to wide. However, I do not know how to go about writing code that will run the queries ONLY on the imported tables (again an unknown number of tables with similar names), not the rest of the tables in my database. I'm guessing it involves a do loop, but I am not positive.
