Oct 26, 2013I have inherited 1000 records which need to fit into new criteria selected from combo boxes and to do this individually by the forms will take forever so i want to copy and paste the data in the table, but when I do it doesn't fill in the form.
This may be a problem with the cascading script in the form as the fields fill in when I press f9 but disappear every time I open the form.Finally I eventually want to export the data as a table but displaying the text value rather than the key value.

May 19, 2015I have to import a table into a government database. I've got the data lined up in a table and exported to csv. The problem is that the government database doesn't allow empty fields, or the commas created by empty fields. The empty fields are create by criteria that changes with each employee. Is there a way to get rid of them without manually deleting them? I would imagine there is but can't find anything about it or maybe I don't see the forest for the trees? Sample csv below with surplus commas.

May 22, 2015I created a table with an older version of MS Access which was replaced with Access 2010. I was able to export the table simply by selecting specifications that I created.
How do I export with these same specifications in Access 2010 ?

Aug 10, 2007Greetings. I have the following problem:
I have a list of about 200 crops on a column, and for each crop I have 6 information (income, amount of land, season, etc.) in the following 6 columns. I have this information for about 100 households in 6 villages.
I am now starting to put these info in the computer, and it is an enourmous task. I thought that one way to do it is design a form in Access, and have one file per village. I then want to analyse the data at the household level for each village, and also analyse the data at the village level (after calculating village averages).
I want to recreate the form I used to interview farmers in Access, but I can't figure out how to make Access automatelly have 7 columns in form view (the first with the name of the crop, the next 6 with the information: income, etc.). The idea is to reproduce as closely as possible the form I used to interview the farmers, so as to facilitate the data-entry.
Does anybody know how to let Access automatically sort all the fields into 7 columns? Of course I can design the form manually (putting each field individually in its right place), but then I have 7 x200 fields to move, and it would take a huge amount of time. I can't believe that Access can't do this automatically, but I can't figure out how.
I then plan to transfer the info for analysis to SPSS. Does anybody foresee a problem?
Do I make sense? If anybody can help, I would be very grateful. This is actually very urgent, because I am going to pay somebody to do it, but I have to tell her how to do it over the week-end. Thank you very much!!
Tables :: Export Table To TXT File Without Hyphens And Pipes?
Feb 23, 2013I need to export a table to .txt.
I need to have the field names as well as the records.
Some records are part numbers with a leading zero like 043095.
Some records are part numbers with dashes and alpha's like 123456E-789.
I don't think I can use .csv because some records have a part number description uses comma's like "some text, more text, even more text".
I don't need all the hyphens and pipes for the grid work.
The problems I have so far are:Exporting to .txt without formatting doesn't bring over the field names (I know they made it this way) Is there a work around other than exporting the data and then adding all the field names in with a macro in Excel? I can do it but, what a pain.
I see dropping of leading zeros = 43095 in .txt and .xlsx
Exporting to Excel sometimes scrambles the part numbers and they come out like this 5.91E-09 when it should be 123456E-789 (so I'm losing data).
Exporting to Excel also puts qoutes in the description field like "A very large part" (extra clean up necessary).
easiest way to get rid of the hyphens and pipes and leave it in .txt form?

Jan 30, 2012I have been trying to export, in MS Access 2007, data from a table to Excel. and it will not go for anything.
It does not error it just does not go. Now I have used the following in other versions Access for years but not ion 2007, so I do not know.
I have tried these two techniqes:

However I want it so i can choose where that data in the "Test" table will go in the Excel Spreadsheet i.e. I want to export all the data in to Cell "B2" of the SpreadSheet - at the moment it will export all the data into "A1"

Oct 22, 2014I have two tables of different structures. Both have sys=autoincrement as a unique record identifier. What is the best way to blend the two tables into one? Should I change the field structure of each table so that they match up for a file export and import and if so how do I handle the fact that each table currently has it's own record identifier number.?

I've been in a new position for a new company for less than three weeks, and I need some help.
The Access database that we use has been in operation since 2002, and it has never been Compacted/Repaired (I asked my coworkers and supposed IT people, and they said "what's that?").
After adding *one* new field, I've reached the horrific "error 3190" (max 255 fields).
I've tried all of the following, allowing at least 12 hours for them to run, but I cannot:
export the data to Excel
import the data into a new database
copy/paste the records (because there are 12100+ and the max is 9500, I think; and because of the way the dd/mm/yy converted itself to dd/mm/yyyy)
or rename the table with the data.
Please, someone help me.

Dec 15, 2014I am trying to write code in an excel worksheet to try to export excel data to a table in access.
The range in which the data is situated in excel varies. So the range address varies with the data. After a lot of searching I wrote the following code which works for a range which is fixed. The code is the following:

As one can see from the first two lines of code I am trying to first delineate the range and then to name it. The intent is to name the range "ghazla" and so to cater for the fact that the extent of data varies.
The code works with the fixed range ="Sheet2$B140". However what I need to do is to adjust the code so that I can insert "ghazla" as the range name so that this can vary.

URL...I have one table of data (tblCustomers) which contains all of the fields in the box above.
I would like export the data from the table to excel showing only the fields that are ticked in the box (frmCustomReport).The check boxes are named chk then whatever the field name is eg. chkLocation, chkStatus. The labels are the names of the fields in tblCustomers. Is there a way to do this in SQL or VBA?

Feb 20, 2014Managed to export a table to csv file. The problem I now have is I need to add the following Text at the start of the file:-
H,LKJ85485524,DE
and the new last line :- T,whatever the record count is,2
Whether this info is added before or after export is not important.
I have even resorted to using VBA to create an Excel spreadsheet and saving to csv.
Thought this had cracked it however I had surplus commas at head and footer where the original csv file had additional columns (ok manually delete these comas) ,then found that the end of each csv line was missing a final comma that is needed by the recipient of the file.

Nov 20, 2013I am wondering if there is a quicker way to export a query to excel then have the data in that query removed from the original table. (effectively cutting the data from the table and exporting to excel)
I understand that this can be done by exporting the query to excel then running the same query as a delete query to remove the data but I just wondered if this is the most efficient way.
I have experience of VB in excel but currently only use the basic macro builder in Access though if Access VB is more efficient I can easily learn.

Tables :: Multiple Table Data To Save To A Different Table From A Form
Mar 6, 2014I have three tables: Vehicles; Vehicle Reallocated; and Vehicles Retired. I have a form that runs a query to find all the info in the Vehicles tbl that is not "Retired", not visible in the form. I then have the option to toggle to a Reallocated or Retired form. When i toggle to the reallocated form, i have the like fields in that table (ie Van #, Vin, Make etc) pulling the info from the hidden subform with the vehicle query, so i do not need to fill in repeat data. However, when i add a reallocated date and the new clinic that vehicle is for, i get the record ID for the vehicle reallocated table as expected, but when i save none of the data moved over from the query saves in the record?
How to get all the data on the reallocated form to save?

Nov 21, 2014I am working from an existing database which is just two table. The main table has a massive amount of redundancy and duplication and needs splitting into, at first glance, 5 tables.
After I have run my various make table queries and added a Primary Key and FK field to the new tables how do I populate the FK with the Parent PK.
I thought I could simply add all the fields from the new table and then create an adhoc join in an update query to populate the PK to the FK. When I do this however I get "You are about to update 0 records"
I have tried the table analyzer but it doesn't give the correct options to split the table the way I need.
