Tabular Forms And Detail Sections

I'm curious if anyone know's a way to access a specific data section on a tabular form. I'm attempting to have each section update a specific data item based on its position on the form, but am having problems since I do not know how to differentiate between one details section and another on the form. Any help would be appreciated.

Help Creating Report With Multiple Detail Sections

Hi,

I need to create a report for each employee in my company of all compensation information. The report is going to need to have multiple detail sections on the report for example to list all benefits specific to the employee and all beneficiaries.

I tried using a subreport to produce those detail sections that I needed but once I placed this subreport inside a box on the main report each detail I created increased the size of the box. I also thought about making the detail section a list box and writing all of the information there. Would there be a better or easy way to accomplish this?

I am also thinking I am going to have to save all of this information in a table and based the report on that table?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Tabular Main Form And Tabular Subform

Hi

I am trying to create a form that has a tabular main form and a tabular subform. All I can do is to create a main form that just shows a singular record (columnar). I want to be able to see say 10 records in the main form and 10 records in the subform. How do I do this?

Tabular Forms

Hello,

I'm trying to create a form like the Employee form in Northwind Database, but I'm clueless, I'm getting the different tabs, but when I move from the first page to the second page the fields on the first page is showing on the second and third pages.

Any help is appreciated.

PS: I created a form & then draw a tab page(from toolbox menu) on the same form & try to move the fields onto the tab pages.

Forms :: Add Control To Tabular Layout

So you make this nice continuous form (or report) using the tabular layout, layout/format the whole enchilada... and then at some stage you need to add one more field to the display.

You could change the layout to stacked, drag the field from the Add Existing Fields list onto the layout and then change the layout back to tabular.

Is there any other smart way to add a field to a tabular layout in A2007, so that the label winds up in the header section and the textbox (or other control) in the detail section?

Tabular Style Forms/Reports And Information

Hello all - Working on a form that is supposed to display order approval information. In the database I'm working with, people are stored as in the approvals table by a reference to an autonumbered value. However, I want to display their name, which can be obtained normally through an SQL or DLookUp Command. This tabular form style though is giving me a problem. If I put new textboxes on the form and load it as I normally would, like:

ApprovalName.Value = DLookup ("[UserName]", "Users", "Users.UserID =" str(ApprovalID.Value*))

*ApprovalID is a hidden textbox that stores the number that is used to represent a particular user.

The problem becomes that using an OnLoad or and OnCurrent Form function, the boxes only load one value. I want them to load the different values for the different entries, but I am lost as to how to do this. Any help would be appreciated.

A similar issue that I've been having with reports is that I don't know how I would do this at all... I want to do the same thing (retrieve the Name or whatever that is related to a numerical value) and put it on the report. I'd appreciate any info on how to do this.

And I wanted to know if I can some how highlight in a white/yellow alternating color like for instance starting with the three reds being white then the three greens being yellow then the two yellows being white and so on. Maybe through conditional format?

I have made an unbound check box, named "myckeck" in a form which shows data from a table in tabular layout.

1- When I check one check box, all check boxes are checked. How can I solve that? I mean I want to check or clear check boxes independently.

2- I made a text box, named "jobdate" to sow todays date automatically upon checking a check box.

Code:
Private sub mycheck_afterupdate()
jobdate = date
End

But this is not working and checking a check box does not make anything to happen.

3- Then I made this expression in the default value of "jobdate" properties:

iif( mycheck = true, date(), null)

This not working either.

I'm trying to create a report where I can use a section header as a hyperlink to show/hide detail, but only for that section. For example, my customer names are:

Code:
ABC Co.
ZYX Co.
123 Co.

If I click on ZYX Co., I want it to show the contracts for ONLY that customer:

Code:
ABC Co.
ZYX Co.
Contract 1
Contract 2
123 Co.

Right now, my code looks like this for On_Click:

But it shows and hides detail for ALL customers when I do this. Is there a way to only show/hide for the customer on which I click?

The problem that I am having is how to recalculate all order detail item.

FORM
Main form = Tblorder : orderID, CustumerID, TotalSquare
Sub form = TblOrderdetail : orderdetailID, OrderID, itemname, unitprice, total

Example: if I set up the totalsquare FIRST = 10 and I select the the itemname, it will calculate the total = unitprice * totalsquare this work fine.

I have 20 item in sub form orderdetail and every item was calculate based on totalsquare = 10. For some reason, I have to change the totalsquare = 20.

How do I make so that it will recalculate all 20 items in subform/orderdetail instead of deleting all item and re enter it again?

I have set up a split database and it seems to work perfectly. I have created a report on each users FE and this works fine. It inputs their own contact details on the report. This was done manually before sending the FE to the user just using ="text here" in the design of the form.

What I want to do is add an extra field to the table (and link to this via the form each user has) and have this populated automatically with the users name.This is so we can see at a glance which user added which record.

Is there a way to have this happen or would it be a case of having to pick your own username from a combo box? Can I do something with each users FE form which will add their name when they add a record?

I have a 'master' navigation form called 'NPYWC'

On it, there is a subform called 'patient' - this has a number of subforms in the detail section (Linked on a one-to-one key).

When the patient form loads, I hide the detail section until a user either

A. Finds an existing client record or
B. Clicks the 'ADD NEW' button

The ADD NEW button opens a separate (pop up) form where the primary patient information is gathered. When the user clicks "Save" on the pop up, my VBA script ...

A. Creates all the one-to-one relationships that are required.
B. Updates the 'Find Patient' field to the newly created patient number
C. Finds the new record
D. Un-hides the detail section (This is what I cant get to work)

I have tried a number of things. The latest being

Forms![NPYWC]![NavigationSubform].Form![Section].[Detail].Visible = True

The rationale for hiding the detail section in the first place? The answer is twofold.

1. If the user simply creates an new patient, the three actions (A, B C above) don't always run/display the data properly. (Im not sure why? ) The pop up form seems to be a good working solution for me.
2. My users have a tendency to change data on the default patient. I have tried going to new record, but then they add new (often duplicate) patient records.

I am a novice ACCESS user, so my questions may be elementary. In Access 2007, I have a query that presents the user with a list of the contacts he/she is approved to access. I want the user to be able to "drill down" to the detail form for a specific contact by double clicking on his last name, but I have not been able to find a property sheet for the last name field in the query to which I can apply the code.

I have a combo box and button on a form that should open another form and display the results in a datasheet view filtered by the combo box selection. The second form is based on a query that has the following criteria in the JobType field:

When I run the query it correctly prompts me to enter a value for the criteria and displays the proper results. Likewise, the same thing occurs when I run the second form independently. The problem is when I try to run it with the combo box and button. The second form opens in a datasheet view with the headings, but no detail records are being displayed.

I have a bound form which shows list of items in the stock. When i click on a button it should open another form which shows the details of item which we choose from the first form.the code which i have in click event of the form is :

I have a form, which fetches data from a database and populates the content as a number of rows in the detail section.

For each row I want to test if a certain 'yes/no' condition is met on each query and the toggle the visibility on a picture that I have placed in the detail section.

I've tried seveal possible solutions now, like macros and VBA but haven't got it working.

Forms :: Search Form - Show Query Results In Detail Section

I created a search form. It has 6 unbound text boxes and 2 combo boxes in the header. Users can select values from the combo boxes and/or enter names in the other text boxes. These values all go into a filter on my Main table and the filtered results show up in the detail section. That used to work fine.

Now, I've been trying to convert the filter into a query and show the query results in the detail section instead.
(Why? Because of the ever-changing business requirements, of course!)

For some reason, the detail section went blank. All white. When I change the Data Entry property to No, it fixes that.

However, the text boxes for entering the search criteria will not accept any values anymore. It's like they are disabled.

When I change Data Entry property to Yes, I can enter text into the text boxes again. But the detail section blanks out again.

I have a switchboard form with a left menu bar similar to windows explore wi
th three sections (Configure, Tasks, Print)
How can I have each section collapsible like in window explore?

Can it be done through the VBA scripting in MS Access? If so can someone pro

Basically I divided each section to three parts
one part is the header which is an image and a label (name of section)
the second part is the button to click to hide/show the context of the secti

the third part is the text (labels that open other forms) with a background

I have a tabular form for a sales database. i.e:

Product Qty Cost
Cherry Coke.........1...............0.95
Diet Coke............1...............0.95
Sprite.................1...............0.55
Cherry Coke.........1...............0.95

I want a command button to open a new form and show total product quantity and total cost, but on a normal form. i.e:

Product Qty Cost
Cherry Coke........2...............1.90
Diet Coke...........1................0.95
Sprite................1................0.55
..........................Total:........3.44

How can this be done?
