Dec 17, 2013How to widen my list of objects on the left?... I can't seem to "grab" anything to widen it... I must have hit something as it was viewing properly before.

General :: Unable To View Design Of Any Objects
Oct 4, 2012I am new to MS access 2007 but not new to Access. I am trying to open a form in the design view but that option is disabled along with other menu options. I checked the Ribbon and it appears to be a custom toolbar. I deleted that out of the box but I'm still unable to view the design of any objects. How do I enable the menu items?

Apr 1, 2007When the Switchboard comes up for my program (called SIR) there is also the typical access icon on the status bar. The problem is that there is a second icon labelled "SIR : database" which allows access to the Objects (ie. forms, reports, tables, etc.). Any ideas how can I eliminate this? Thanks ahead of time!

May 16, 2014Why the ability to view the properties of an object within a form is not available when you double click on it in design view?
I was happily working away double clicking on a command button to edit some code when for some reason the next time I tried to edit it did not open up for me.
I was unable to access it even by right clicking on the object & selecting properties as that also appears to be disabled, not greyed out or anything but just does nothing when selected.
Have I inadvertently changed a setting somewhere that prevents the properties from being displayed?
Unable To Return Query If A Field Is Left Blank

I am having a problem getting my query to work properly. I have read through this query section but it just got me more confused. I know some have used IIF function but it didn't work for me.
here's my code:

Form View Screen Is Blank
Aug 7, 2006Hi, i have my form open in design view and it includes quite a few fields on a tab. But when i go to open it in form view, the form is just grey and nothing appears on it. Never seen this before, can anybody help?

Is there a way to hide the application title bar (including the min, max and close buttons) as well as the windows taskbar when Access is running? I have seen this done before where the form fills the entire screen - ie no controls or frames are visible.

Unable To View Event Procedures
Feb 20, 2006I was working on a form in a database I have created, when I suddenly found myself unable to view any of the related Event Procedures.
I can still see [Event Procedure] next to each field, control, etc., as well as next to the On Open event. I just can't view any of them. I appear to be able to view the Events behind all other forms, it just isn't working for this particular one.
Clicking on the '...' to the right of the line does nothing, nor does right-clicking on this symbol and trying to access 'Build'.
Logging out of the Db, then back in, achieved nothing. Nor did rebooting the PC.
The only other peculiar thing I've noticed is that if I attempt to make a copy of this one form I get the message 'name conflicts with existing module, project or object library'. This message is displayed regardless of what name I enter.
Everthing was working fine, earlier on. Now I'm effectively locked out.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Jul 2, 2014The file was converted from excel. It is in Datasheet view. I select the first column and clip on the Ascending choice under the Home Tab. It works but leaves a large gab of blank rows. I go to the Database Tools tab and check Compact and Repair Database. The file returns to the original unorganized list.

Jul 27, 2006I have tried to make a login screen, I have also searched for information and tried some of the examples but, I just can't get one to work.
Is there someone or somewhere where I can get information on how to build one step by step in simple easy instructions....(access 2003).
Also, how do you get access to open all the windows, tables, queries etc in full screen mode.
I have expaneded them and shut it down and then reopened it but they still want to open out of full screen mode.

"Do Not Show This Screen Again" : Splash Screen

I have this splash screen, which welcomes all the users. It has an OK command button that exits the screen, and a checkbox that says "Do not show this screen again". I still do not have the code behind the checkbox. Thus I was wondering if there is a way where I could entirelly close or "get rid" of the splash screen until the user loggs in again. Because right now there is no code behind it, so everybody that checks it and click OK, leaves the screen. But they can still open it, if they select the "splash form".
Forms :: Text Boxes Showing In Design View But Not Display In Form View
Apr 19, 2014I have a Form which I have linked correctly to a subform. The Text boxes are showing in the Design view but are not when one switches to the Form View. Labels for Fields are visible in the Form View. Have even created a new subform and that will also not display the Text Boxes.

I have seen that in some sample db's rightclicking the mouse showed the menu with an option to check or uncheck the dataview option, unchecked the formview was applied, but when i 'just' import the subform, i cannot find somewhere the possibility to change from dataview to formview.
Maybe someone can help me with this, probably very simple(?), question?

It's not being displayed when I look at the table view. I've attached an image showing the settings for the field. I am probably missing something obvious.

Forms :: No Filters - Cannot View All Records In Form View
Aug 27, 2013I have 4 tables and around 440 records but can only view up to 417 in the form I have designed. I have been adding new records via form and it has been added to my main table, but when i try to view it in form view - the record is not available to view. What do I need to do to correct this problem?
I have checked that there are no filters, data entry is set to No, Auto deletions, additions and edits are set to yes.
Also to mention it seems that the problem has arisen since I set up some new queries, there is a one to one relationship between the tables!

Nov 14, 2013I want to "zoom" to the underliyng data from pivot view. When in excel someone doubleclicks a field in a pivot table, it automatically creates a table containing all the lines that field were made up from. I want to achieve the same behaviour in Access.I started to think towards a VBA coda, that could be initiated from the form's double click event. It should go to datasheet view with the prpoer filter criterias.

I even went to the form properties and the default was datasheet and i made it not to allow other views. This still didnt solve it. I want it to be in datasheet view because i want to show multiple records at the same time.

I was wondering...i put a microsoft doc in an OLE Object and in Pages or Form, i'd like to call the object to open up. So if i have a word doc stored in the OLE, i want that word doc opened up using a hyperlink or command button of some sorts, is there a way to do it????

can form objects be grouped? i currently have numerous buttons on a form that are shown according to a button selection. my current code makes all buttons visible / invisible singularly but i wiondered if they could be grouped/ named and the get the code to make the group visible / invisible?

What I want to do is to select all the form objects...have the user select a # from a drop-down list. Then set the font-size property to all of the form objects to that #. Does that make since?

Need Some Help With OLE Access Objects
Feb 13, 2004I was wondering is anyone could help me with a problem thats been vexing me all day..
I have an Access database that has a number of Word documents stored as OLE objects. What I need to do now is create a macro within Word which, based on a few parameters, retreives these Word Docs from access and formats them into a completed document. The ordering and formating bits fine, where I'm stuck is getting at the OLE objects.
Can anyone give any advice on a possible solution?

Objects In A Form

This might be very simple but this driving me crazy...
None of the objects created on my form are appearing in Form View mode but I can see all the objects in 'Form Design mode'. I checked the properties of the form and all other objects to make sure 'Visible' property is Yes. Any help to solve this is highly appretiated.

View Records In Form View
Apr 6, 2006Hi, I am in the process of creating a new database - I am a bit new to this. I have a main form, which also contains two subforms. The record source of the main part of the form is 11 tables, and then each of the subforms is based on one table each (so there are 13 tables altogether).
Everything seems to be linked up ok, and when I add new information to the form (and the subforms), the information gets saved to the tables as it should be. However, I want to be able to view past records in the form view, so that users can regularly update past records using form view. I can't do this. Each time I open the form view, the thing at the botton left says 'record one of one.' THen if I put the curser in (for eg) the box called 'client name' and click on the search button, I get a message saying:
"you can't find or replace now, the fields are not searchable due to:
- the fields are controls;
- the fields have no data;
- there are no fields to search."
well I don't really know what that means. There is definately data in there somewhere, because I can view it in the table view, but I'd like to be able to view and update old records, and search, in the form view.
any tips?
