I had a form with a command button which invokes email sending option to send a report..I am using code from a sample database . The code which I am using is here:-
'Tbis explains all the section of the e-mail see SendObject in help Rem example from help DoCmd.SendObject [objecttype][, objectname][, outputformat][, to][, cc][, bcc][, subject][, messagetext][, editmessage][, templatefile]
The code is working perfect and my question is that can I change the file format from RichTextFormat to word format????? I tried by chaning "WordDocument (*.doc)" but it didn't worked???? Is there any way I can change that to word format (*.doc)???? any suggestions appreciated .
I have a database with 12 tables,8 modules and 20 forms. But when I try to convert it to an MDE file it gives me an compilation error, that the size of the file is too large.
abc - it's always in front, it's either 'abc' or 'wxyz'. If 'abc' is not shown, just input 'wxyz'.
'010203' - it will be in the middle, it may appear as abc010203 or abc222010203, always in 6 digit.
22.35 - always at the back, after three alphabet, if it's not shown, just input 0.
I have been able to do it in Excel, but I am wondering if it can be done in Access so that I can eliminate the process to import the text file into Excel.
Working with a bank that wants a file from us so they can import into their check reconciliation program. Got the export from the accounting program working for the info they need, but the bank guy says he needs a file structure like this:
(first row is header..don't worry about what the stuff means for now) 1234578990000000000000000 (rest of rows are details) 1234589000807091234 1234589000807093456
notice the line breaks between header and rows? Wouldn't this call for a line break and mess up an import program? Bank guy isn't a database person and is clueless
I created a simple macro using the Export with Formatting action to export a table from access to excel. The dates in the excel file are not in the original format of the dates in the access file. How can I save the date and other formats when I export an access table to excel ?
Hi, I am trying to email a table in text format using :
DoCmd.SendObject acSendTable, "Table", acFormatTXT, , , , "Results", "Attached are the reslts"
It sends the file in text file format, but it adds "-" & "|" characters all over the file. Is there a way that I can send the file in simple "Comma Separated" file format.

I currently have a query pulling data from a database - I need to now export the data to a text file to import it into a different database. I need the format to be like below. Wondering how I can tell the query to go to the second line and then the third line like below.
I created a database for my Dad's farm and it was all going well until I have been away for a while. I ensured the DB was backed up properly before I left but he didn't know how to back it up himself apparently so now we are in trouble.
Anyway, one day he went to open the DB and got the "unrecognized database format" message and the file doesn't open at all. The DB was created in Access 2013 and has only ever been used in 2013 (though my Dad uses runtime as he doesn't have a full license like me).
There is a couple of months worth of data which would cause a real headache if it was lost so fixing the file is the best outcome if at all possible, I tried the "compact and repair" from inside access without the DB opened but got the same message. I noticed that there is 3rd party software online claiming to fix all access files but they sound a little too good to be true and a good source of infecting my computer with a virus.
Someone decided to be clever and send a text file with a stupid date format, is it possible to show off a little here and get a working date format, it's a text file I am working with: Dec 18 2014 01:12PM.
Not that is an exactly cut/paste so spaces are as they are here, ideally would like to get 18/12/14 13:12.
I have a downtime system that was created by our IT department that records the downtime of the line stops, it has export to excel button that will export the downtime to excel based off the parameters of date and time. I want to do the export then import to access for downtime analysis. The problem I am having is the programmers export it as HTML with .xls file format. and the worksheet has a date associated with it as well as the spreadsheet has a tab that contains a date and I can't figure away to import to a fixed table. So I tried the transfer spreadsheet not knowing it was in HTML, couldn't recognize the format, then I tried transfer HTML, can't find the file because of .xls file format. I know I could re-save it as a excel file but was trying to keep the steps to a min. Is there a way to import even though it has a date attached to the file and spreadsheet tab.
the databases functionally normally with no issue. I have several databases one for each project and they are all having this issue. It doubles the size of the DB after the failure. This seems to tell me that the crash is just after the DB is ready to rewrite the database compacted. I run C&R about every 2 weeks and have a spread sheet tracking DB size prior to and after C&R. The compactions run from about 1% to 15% the norm seams to be 4% to 6%. The size of the DBs run from 65KB to 100KB.
Hi Please help me, I have the form, in this form there is list of value which run query and resulting the report. For example if I have 5 item in list, i have to choose one of then and the query running and the report is print preview.
My question is, How to export all 5 report to 5 sheet in one excel file. I know may be the problem in format if I send to excel, but I will fix it in the excel. The most important is, I export the report to excel, each of the report in each of sheet of excel.
FDL00.... should be generated automatically, starting with 101 for 1st container and 201 for 2nd and so forth. The output should be in vertical manner.
I upgraded to Access-2010 and the Text File Import function will not recognize dates in the format YYYY-MM-DD. The import dialogue sees enough to recognize the field as a date, but then every date encountered is written to the Import-Errors table. This is true whether the file has a .txt or .csv extension. The actual file format is .csv.
Using Access 2007, can I return a value for CurrentProject.FileFormat WITHOUT opening the database?
I'm looking for a way to determine the file version of a given Access database without actually "opening" the database in Access (I don't want it to ever be visible at all or in any way).
So to open a database in Access 2007 "without opening it," I'm using:
Code: Dim db As DAO.Database Set db = DBEngine.Workspaces(0).OpenDatabase("C:Path-ToFile.accdb")
From here, there are at least two different "version" indicators that can be used, as in this example:
Now, if you run this code on an Access 2002/2003 .MDB file, you will get:
Code: 4.0 09.50
If you run this code on an Access 2007 .ACCDB file, you get:
Code: 12.0 09.50
Note two important factors:The db.Properties("Version") seems to be returning the JET version from what I can see in research. This is NOT what I'm after.
The db.Properties("AccessVersion") returns THE SAME VALUE for an '07 ACCDB as it does for an '02-'03 MDB, since Microsoft never updated it, apparently.
Now.... the one way that I have found that ACCURATELY describes the version of a given access database file is to use:
Code: Debug.Print CurrentProject.FileFormat
...as this will always return, for example, 2.0 for an Access 2.0 .MDB file; 10 for an Access 2002/03 .MDB file; and 12 for and Access 2007 .ACCDB file (and there are others; these are AcFileFormat bitmask constants as described in Access support).
BUT, this CurrentProject object doesn't seem to be available (so far as I can see) when using the "open without opening" method described above.
SO, is there any way to return the FileFormat value without opening the database visibly? (Merely basing it in the extension isn't right either.... that would be easy but not accurate as several formats use MDB.
I have a CSV file and want to convert it in a text format with some filtered data and with some formatting. This is an everyday task for me. So I made a table and imported the data in to it by the command :
Actually I have a column "SERIES", contains various series like "EQ", "BE", "DR", "BZ", "D1" and so on. And one more column with the dates having 4 / 5 current months dates and one next months date and one next to next month's date. And every date has got several thousand records.
now the issue is that : After importing these several thousand records, I want to export it but with a specific date and with a specific series.
The other thing is that, these dates change every month so if hard coded, the problem will occur the next month.
this code is working fine but when the month will change, the code won't work.
Can we have a date & series picker attached to this query, so it can export the records with the specified SERIES & DATE.
I tried putting a textbox on the form named TxtDate and in a Query ( Design mode ) under the date column, in criteria I have put [Forms]![Futures]![TxtDate] and after putting this line, the query becomes empty and no data is there.
I'm working with Access 2010 and am trying to use the transferspreadsheet command to output data in a query to an Excel 2010 format file. Here is the line of code:
It works fine and produces the output file but when I try and open it with Excel I get an error saying the format is incorrect. If I change the extension to .xls it opens with no problem but I need it to be an Excel 2010 format with correct extension.
I wanted to assign the field "Number of magazine" with special format based on date/time format but showing only year and month in the format: "yyyy-mm".
So in property of this field in format I put yyyy-mm and in input mask I type 0000-00;;-
I also created the form based on the table containing above field and I defined format and input mask for corresponding formant in the same way like at the table.
But if I try to type date for example 2014-01 in text box of the form it comes up with the full date 2014-01-01. Why does it do like this? What do I do incorrectly?
I have a list of dates in the mm/dd/yyyy format and I am looking to get it into the fiscal format of yyyyww. I am able to do this with the datepart and format functions, but I need to make it so that the fiscal month begins in January but the first week starts if there are three or more days in the week. For instance if Jan 1st is a Friday then this stands as the first fiscal week, if it is a Saturday then it does not count as the first week.
datepart and format functions have the Use the first week in the year that has at least 4 days for the firstweekofyear option but I need it where it has at least three to make it work.
I am exporting data from access 2007 to Excel 2007 using VBA code. I have a whole number, which I want displayed as whole number. But after the export, the number is using the 1000's seperator in Excel. So for example if my original number in access table is 12000, it is showing up as 12,000 in the excel file.It has something to do with the NumberFormat property. I have tried doing this but doesn't work.
We're using Access 2010 on Windows 7.We have a large database design where we send reports as e-mail attachments. We need to change the way the file is automatically created when sent. I goes to snapshot form every time we attach it to an e-mail. How can we get rid of the snapshot .snp file format? How can we change it to pdf or accbd?
