User-guides Have Disappeared!!

Hi!

I'm currently facing a strange problem! When I want to insert a command-button, a drop-down menu etc. no userguides appear anymore. I like to do the most basic work in design-mode, so I kind of miss then a lot...

How can I make them come back???

Odd One - Menu Items Have Disappeared...

Up until recently, when I selected multiple objects in design view (on a form) and right-clicked the mouse, I had several options in the 'Size' sub-menu (including 'Size to Widest / Tallest / Narrowest / Shortest').

Then I tried to be clever(!) and create a new custom toolbar which had just these options on it, as I use them frequently. This was all very well until now, when I can't find the custom toolbar I created, and the options have disappeared from the Size submenu aswell!

Has anyone got any ideas on how I can get them back??

(I have tried going into Customize to drag them back, but they're not there either! :( )

Form's Module Disappeared

Hi,

My mainform, which controls virtually all operations, has dissappeared.

Since itīs supposed to load when starting the database, the form actually loads, but you canīt see it in the forms window.

when I try to edit the code I get the message "module not found".


What do I do?

Switchboard Form Disappeared....

Hi there

I've been playing around with creating a switchboard. At first, I saw a form appear in the forms area called switchboard. but now it's gone. I have a switchboard marked as Default under Switchboard Manager, I can see that a table has been created called Switchboard Items, but it won't open on startup. (obviously, because there isn't a form which I can point to in the startup box)

Any idea why the switchboard form is not being created?

My Database Window Has Half Disappeared!

Can anyone help with this ANNOYING problem?!

The Database Window within Access on my computer seems to have kinda half disappeared under all the toobars at the top of the screen. Each time i open it it seems to have moved further up. The problem is, that because it is underneath the toolbars, I can't click on the window of it to drag it back down! Now, its got so far up that i can't even select any of my tables, forms, queries or reports because i can't see them!

Its SOOO annoying! and i have no idea what to do about it!

Help please.....:confused:

Form Controls Disappeared After Export

Hope someone can shed some light on this.

I have imported the contents of my database into a new database, as all the testing is completed and want a clean start without any dummy data in it or anything. My main form which is where most of the interaction with the database goes on appears blank with no controls on it on form view. In design view, I can see everything (buttons, search fields, subforms etc) but turn into form view, it's blank (except the header). Does anyone know why this happened?

Tables, Queries, Forms, Reports And Modules Have Disappeared

Good morning All.

I have a database which updates via a Function in a module every morning (i.e imports and exports data).

Yesterday the DB crashed and incurred a problem. The DB was closed down and re-opened.

When it was re-opened all the Tables, Queries, Forms, Reports and Modules were no longer showing in the DB window.

When I selected the Tables tab the following message appeared:

Operation Invalid Without Current Index

this was then followed by another message:

"Isn't an index in this table. Look in the indexes collection of the TableDef object to determine the valid index names

This also appears if I try selecting the other tabs i.e. Queries, Modules etc.

The strange thing is the DB still updates at its stipulated time, and still imports and exports data. I am running Access 97.

Does anybody have any idea of how I can sort this out?

Forms :: Controls Disappeared After Showing Blank Result

I have a form with a query assigned to it . it has also some controls to filter the data when i filter the data and there are any relevantr data for the results the form shows nothing for the query and it's true but the controls will be disappeared and i have to go out from the form and come in again to be able to filter the query again.

I am around 2 months working with access. I created an application/dataentry form and it was working very well. suddenly today, I got an error which says. Run-time Error 5 "Invalid Procedure Call or Argument. together with that or may be independent, a pop up search form just disappeared. I put a msgbox in form load of pop up form and the msgbox appears but the pop up form just disappeared.

I was about to give the application to use and thats when all these happened ...

Multi-User - Can You Assign Which User Created/amended A Record?

I've seen different log in forms and tips on multi-user use but can't seem to find info on the following...

We have 6 people at work and I'd like to assign which user updated a form or created a new record...this would be particularly useful on the sales part of the database to track who made a call to a particular customer...

General :: Access Multi User Database - Error On Only One User

I have a multi user database in Access 2000 that is on a server. The individual users have shortcuts pointing towards the server instance. One user and one user only when opening the shortcut gets the error "you do not have exclusive rights to the database" .

All other users can enter the database with no error box. I have checked the advanced setting under options and they are correct. Ironically if you go to start and open access then navigate to the database shortcut. It opens with no error.

Calc User Totals Table 1 And Enter In User Records In Table 2

I have two tables. The first contains details of a budget holders money allocation for a given period, and the other tracks their spend on products over that period. How can I generate a query to calculate the total running spend for each user from the "budget spend table" that will be written into the users record in the "budget allocation table".

My aim is to show details of budget allocation, total spend to date and remaining budget for each user in an Order form / report.

Can anyone please advise me on how to do this or suggest another way of doing it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Forms :: Second User Record Changes When First User Selects Record

I have a database for mutli users which is split. Front end is available separately for 3 users. These users make data entry in the same form from their front end form. This particular form has combo box that retrieves data based on selection in combo box and the use starts filling the data in the subform. Upto this, form is Ok, no problems seen.

But when the second user opens the same form from the split database front end stored in his computer, and once the second user selects another record from the combo box, first user's record also changes immediately to the record of Second user. Both users now have the same record even though the form is separately accessed from front end.

A User End?

I need some help building what I believe is called a user end. I'm done building the tables and forms and all that jazz, now I need an interface that my boss, who knows nothing about access, can easly access and manipulate data. Of course it would be nice if I'd look nice. Is there anybody who can help or can give me link to a decent tutorial.

i plan to use the Group security feature for my DB.... using the user ID and password... i also want to make use of the user ID in the autopopulating of some of the field in my forms.... if for an instance the person logged in is akshal... then the a particular field named "filled in by" is to be autopopulated by the user ID (i.e. akshal)

Also, is it possible to have someone actively using the database while I continue to make changes for forms and reports?

New User Needs Help

Hi I am new to Access and just need some advise.
I currently have 5 different excel spreadsheets that record sales for 4 different state's then another to hold stock items.
I want to make an access database to hold all this info.
Should I make one table to record all information from the 5 spreadsheets or have a seperate table for each.
Any advise would be most appreciated.

New User - Is This Possible??

Hi guys,

im a new user of Access and don't really know what im doing.

i need to make a database that will keep track of technical drawings. I need the database to be able to search for a drawing number, we might have a few of these types of equipment, so if i am adding a drawing of a different piece of the same equipment i need it to automatically generate the next number in the sequence.

This is hard to explain...

Ok, i have a load of Drawings, say they are numbered

0010-020-A-001
0020-020-A-001
0030-020-A-001

Right the first part is the type of equipment, the second is the sub-group, the thirs is the drawing type....this will all be entered by the person whois entering it into the register, the 001 at the end means it is the 001 revision of the drawing. If i have made a new revision of the drawing, say 002, i want to be able to use a form to enter the first bit of the serial number, then it will automatically tell me the next number in the sequence, and will let me fill in the other details, then i can click a button "add" or register or something and it will automatically update all the details...

....i would be so grateful if anyone knows a solution to this, or if this is even possible
