Using Same Date Range On Report For Multiple Queries
Jul 25, 2007
Hi all,
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to input just one date range into a report that is accessing data from multiple table and multiple queries. I can create the report which gives me the info needed but I have to put the same date range in 3 or 4 time before the report is generated.
I have operators that enter equipment downtime information into the database. I need to create a report that pulls all records that have a start date and time based on a start date (field name FromDate on form) at 7:00 AM to an end date (field name ToDate on form) at 6:59 AM and shows the total duration in hours for each record.I'm having difficulty getting my query to display the correct results for the date and time range. Duration calculations work perfectly. Here is my main table only using fields pertinent to this post:
Field Name Data Type Description Exception_Number AutoNumber Primary Key ExceptStartDate Date/Time Start Date formatted as Short Date ExceptStartTime Date/Time Start Time formatted as Medium Time ExceptEndDate Date/Time End Date formatted as Short Date ExceptEndTime Date/Time End Time formatted as Medium Time
I am building Access (2013) database for 100+ employees to keep track of their expiry dates of visa/passport/work permits, for that to work I need to be able to search between date range to generate a report to work on. please check out the image attached as it will explain better where I am stuck, with current settings access keeps giving me empty query table as I think it searches for exact same result in all 3 fields at the same time. But I want it to search between all 3 fields and display if any of the 3 fields falls into that range.
I have recently set up a button that exports multiple queries to one Excel file, using TransferSpreadsheet code. This works great and saves a lot of time, the only thing is on many of the queries I have a date range set, so you have to enter a date range to get the results.
Is there away that once I press the button I enter the date range once and than it exports the rest of the data based on this range, rather than entering the same dates multiple times.
I have developed a database which has required many checkbox fields to enable analysis. It requires to have the facility to input random/variable date ranges for statistical purposes.
I have built a query which obtains the counts of multiple fields using the following parameters in Query Builder in Access 2010. Although this comes up with the correct results for these multiple fields when I try introduce date range the results come up blank for all results.
An example of the parameters used for one of the checkbox fields in Query Builder is as follows:
Field: SumAnger: Sum([Anger]*-1) Table: Default as only one table Total: Expression Show: Checked
This works fine.
My latest parameters for the date range are this:
Field: [cDate] Table: Default as only one table Total: WHERE Corrected! Whoops Copy & Paste Typo. Too early AM! Show: Checked or Unchecked makes no difference Criteria: Between [From Date:] And [To Date:]
This gives a statement in SQL view of:
SELECT Sum([Anger]*-1) AS SumAnger, Sum([Anxiety]*-1) AS SumAnxiety, Sum([Depression]*-1) AS SumDepression, Sum([Listening]*-1) AS SumListenig, Sum([Psychosis]*-1) AS SumPsychosis, Sum([Stress]*-1) AS SumStress, Sum([Other]*-1) AS SumOther, tblCommsLog.[cDate] FROM tblCommsLog WHERE (((tblCommsLog.[cDate]) Between [From Date:] And [To Date:]));
what I need to get this to work in Query Builder or failing that recommend some VBA script/code with embedded SQL to achieve the required report.
Is there a way to show the earliest and latest dates of a report generated by a non-date field?
E.g. I generate a report based on Food, and it'll list the days that this food is associated with. Is there a way to show the first and last day that appears in this report (i.e. the range of dates that the report shows based on the food selected)
I have a table that has entries recorded with date and time in one field, and I want to have a query that returns all records of a specified date or date range, regardless of the time in the field.
I have tried
Code: Between [StartDate:] And [EndDate:]
And
Code: Between [StartDate:] & "00:00" And [EndDate:] & "23:59"
I have a report that I want to pint the beginning date and ending date range that the report was based off of. I have a query that prompts for begining date and ending date
I have created my report for a table and how I want it to look. The problem is when I enter my dates the report pulls however at the top of the page the range of dates just says #name rather than the dates I entered. I used sample information from a database access creates to make my report and the dates not showing up are the only issue so far. I entered sample orders into my table. The dates to enter into the date range would be 11/01/01 through 11/30/01. I have attached this sample, can someone help me with what i am doing wrong please. I'm just not sure, I have been having a lot of problems creating this database.
I'm having issues with reports. What I want to do is only print specific dates in a report. I have read and tried everything to accomplish this but it just isn't working. Any suggestions????????????
I created a query with: Between [Forms]![Dummy]![StartDate:] And [Forms]![Dummy]![EndDate:] in it.
I created a Form with two text boxes named StartDate and EndDate and appropriate labels and buttons.
I then Created a Report, which prompts for dates and finds the data between the given Dates correctly.
Now the problem: When I create a text box in the report of the following form, I get ?Name? error on the Report: =[Forms]![Form Name]![StartDate] This should work? Can you help me solve this last problem and acheive a good working program?
I am using a simple " >= [BeginDate:] and <= [EndDate:]" in the criterion section of a query to allow a date range to be selected in the query which is used in a report. How can i get that [BeginDate:] and [EndDate:] info available to print on the report so it shows the actual date range being displayed in the report ? thanks.
I'm trying to make a form where the final user can type in two dates (date range) and the result will generate a report on all activity between those two dates, any ideas ?
I have a database with several clients who have a series of appointments. I want to be able to create a report of all the clients to be seen during a range of dates to be inputted by the user. All help would be greatly appreciated.
The data the query pulls is employee name, course ID, course name and course completed date. I have added criteria in the query that asks for the Course ID to filter on a given course and a dynamic field in the query AnnualReqDate: DateAdd("d",+365,[TrainingCourseCompleted]). What this returns is a list of employees that have completed course X the date they completed and the date (12 months) when the course is due. This works great, have created a report that reflects this very well.
The issue comes in when I try to add the ability to filter by date range on the AnnualReqDate dynamic field. the AnnualReqDate dynamic field does not exist until the query is run the Between [Start Date] And [End Date] criteria add to the AnnualReqDate dynamic field wont work. The query fires off but returns zero records.
I have developed a Debt Management program for work but I am stuck on a feature that we need to add to it. Basically I have a table which holds "planned future transactions". These are ad hoc transactions that need to be added from time to time to the clients budget. For example the client might have $500 a quarter for school fees for the next two years or he might receive a bonus every six months for the next 5 years. Currently we are putting these in manually but it is tedious and is causing complaints. The feature I require is to be able to add a record such as the school fees, nominate that this fee is paid every three months for the next 8 quarters and get the system, say through an append query? to create 8 records, each with the appropriate date 3 months after the previous one.
Any suggestions or assistance would be appreciated.
I have a report, based on a query, where the field name is "Date of Work". The criteria in this query field is >=[Start Date] And <=[End Date], which works fine. However I need to have the start and end dates to show in the resulting report header based on the query.
What I have is a single table that I need to create a report from. It has vehicle unit numbers, dates of service, repair details and costs. I am trying to generate a report where I can select a unit from a combobox and enter a date range.
I have the following project that works as a timesheet manager:
Users enter in a form the employee name/date/hours worked/role/overtime (yes or no)/rate... on a daily basis. At the end of every week, they must create a report depending on the dates given in a query.
I have only one table (tbl_EmployeeHours) and a query to calculate the number of hours between two dates.
At the moment a report gives me all the information above (employee name/date hours worked etc..) but what I am trying to is a bit different.
I need Access to create a report (based on a date range given by the user) that would give me: per unique name, the number of normal hours worked in total, next column, the number of hours worked as overtime (rate 1.5), then, the number of hours worked as overtime (rate 2).
This means there are 3 different totals. For example, in the date range given, someone might appear twice but in the report he will appear only once with 3 different totals...
My guess:
I would say I need to create a different query for the 3 different totals (normal hours, overtime 1.5 and overtime 2). For each query you would need to ask the user to input the date range (which would not be so user-friendly I agree...). Then, I am not sure how access would create that list of names and combine the 3 different results from the queries...?
I used UNION ALL to get results from two queries and I Succeeded. Now I want these results to be in a date range, so I want to enter the "starting date" then the "End Date" to have may results in specific date range. This is the original code out of UNION ALL which is working fine:
SELECT Count(Patient.PatientID) AS CountOfPatientID, Patient.CauseOfAmpLowerLt FROM Patient GROUP BY Patient.CauseOfAmpLowerLt HAVING (((Patient.CauseOfAmpLowerLt) Not Like "")) UNION ALL SELECT Count(Patient.[PatientID]) AS CountOfPatientID, Patient.[CauseOfAmpLowerRt] FROM Patient GROUP BY Patient.[CauseOfAmpLowerRt] HAVING (((Patient.CauseOfAmpLowerRt) Not Like ""));
And this is what I tried:
SELECT Count(Patient.PatientID) AS CountOfPatientID, Patient.CauseOfAmpLowerLt FROM Patient GROUP BY Patient.CauseOfAmpLowerLt HAVING (((Patient.CauseOfAmpLowerLt) Not Like "")) UNION ALL SELECT Count(Patient.[PatientID]) AS CountOfPatientID, Patient.[CauseOfAmpLowerRt] FROM Patient GROUP BY Patient.[CauseOfAmpLowerRt] HAVING (((Patient.CauseOfAmpLowerRt) Not Like "") AND (PatientService.[Date of Service]) BETWEEN [Start Date] AND [End Date]);
I'm trying to produce a query that shows all records of patients that have a 'non-active' status (stored in the 'Patient Details' table) and haven't had any deliveries after 31/10/2011 (date stored in the 'Deliveries' table). I've tried a few different ways including using NOT IN (which access didn't like!) but I'm still no closer to getting the correct records.
I have two tables. One is about 160 thousand records, which is a part number, a contract price and a day the price took effect. The items appear several times. Prices go up and down over the course of the data, and items are added and dropped. The second table is a list of dated sales and quotes of those items over the past 14 months.(About 10 thousand lines)
I need to match the items with the contract price that existed on the day the quote or the sale was created, so as to demonstrate we were always at or below the contract price.
I am trying to create a simple database to keep track of employee Car Insurances and MOT information.I am trying to create a query that will show me the following:
When the field "motexpiry" is Empty OR has a date within 30 days from todays date (including if today's date is in the field) OR the date is in the past.It also needs to show records with the same criteria for the field "insuranceexpiry".
And needs to show records where the field "cowensform" is blank. These are all OR queries, so that as long as ONE of all of those criteria is met, the record shows up.Once that query works, I need a very similar query but only showing records where one or more of those criteria is met, but only if the record also has "Oldham" in the "area" field.
I can then copy that query and edit the "Oldham" bit to have a query for each of our area offices.I tried putting "Oldham" in the criteria line of the area field in the query design, but it seemed to have no affect.
I work for a company that manufactures home appliances & electronics. When those products fail within the warranty period, we are obligated to repair the units for the customers.
We have around 200 factory technicians who make those repairs. Each tech is able to make approximately 8 repairs each day. We have a dispatching system that assigns the repairs to the techs based on their availability each day. But the problem is that we have to manually enter and adjust the schedule for all 200 techs every single day, and this takes a lot of time. And of course technicians get sick, take vacation, etc, so we have to adjust the schedule so no techs will be assigned calls when they're off.
The problem: For example, currently when a technician takes off for 2 weeks, the user has to enter 14 individual records for the tech, which is somewhat time consuming. What I need is to program a button click event to determine the two dates (startDate & endDate) and append multiple records from one single entry in the form for each date in between and including the two date fields.
I know I'll probably need to create a loop that will loop through the two dates on the form and append a record for each day, so I can then cross reference the dates to the master schedule dates to make sure that no availability is opened for the techs taking time off.
