VBasic Reference Of Record Stepping

Hi All!

I d'like to ask for your help in the following issue:

When I step the records on a form clicking on the arrows below I want refresh some field reacting on this event.

How can I refer to this event in Visual Basic? And how can I bind the VB program to the form? (Because - as I know - there's no field on the properties box for this purpose)

(Or if you know an event equivalent to this record stepping, I think it would do as well)

MS Visual Basic Debug Stepping ...HELP!

Hi all,

Has anyone experienced this problem?
Ver: MS Access 2002 (10.6501.6735) SP3

MS Access / MS Visual Basic will not step through the code after I set breakpoints for debug.

This has always worked but recently it has stopped?

Anyone have any ideas? maybe a hotkey to toggle debug on/off?

General :: Stepping Through A Table Row By Row - Emailing A Report

I have a table, each row contains information that I want email out as a pdf.

I've created a report, and at the moment I've created a button embedded with the onscreen report which emails the report I'm actually looking at onscreen (as an attachment), all the button is doing is event-on click running this VBA code...

Code:
DoCmd.SendObject acSendReport, "rptSalesReceiptMain_UK", acFormatPDF, DLookup("[Email]", "[Sales]", "[PrintInvoice]=True"), , , "VAT Receipt for your order", "As requested, please find your VAT sales receipt attached"

...it all works, but it's very manual....because I have to open up each report manually, & then click the button manually to create the email

Since I have the main 'chunky' parts done (i.e. creating the report & the code that emails it when I click a button), I'm now turning my attention to automating.

I'd like to add a new true/false column to my table "Receipt Emailed" (or similar) & have a bit of VBA hunt down the column, then it comes across a false condition, it runs the report & emails it.

Therefore rather than me opening the report & clicking on the button (which runs vba code), how do I get this done automatically?

Generate Random Reference No. For A Record

is there anyway to have the database autogenerate a random 8 digit reference number for each record.. this of course must be unique..

maybe something like

7C7CYU99, or HJUHU889... im sure you get the picture.

Help W/ Query- Reference A Specific Record?

Hey guys-
Been trying to figure this out, but am stuck. Obviously I'm fairly new to Access...

I have a table of properties and the price those properties sold for. Each property is in a specific area of town. I want to take each record and display the Address, Area of town, Price it sold for, and then the AVERAGE PRICE of all the other properties that sold in that same, specific area (not all the other areas of town, but the same area that the property sold for). The result should be displayed as below-

-Address- -Area- -Sold Price- -Avg Sold Price in Area-


And then it will list every property in the database, each with the same calculation all in one grid/table/dataset.

I figured out how to write a query to average all the sold prices in each area- but I don't know how to display that in conjunction with each record. Can someone throw a hint at me here?

The Actual Data, Not The Record Cell Reference

I have entered one entry in to the database with the correct values (this is record 6) and everytime I enter a new record, the data is the same (I'm using a drop down list) it will automatically appear in the box. But when I goto the table that the data is stored in, each field just has the reference to the first record that the data came from.

Looks a bit like this:

ID Server Name Pattern Engine Program
6 LN1HOME 4.735.00 8.500-1002 5.58.0.1185
7 LN1WORK2 6 6 6

Is there a way of seeing the origonal data in those fields other than the Record ID Number as a reference. :confused:

I know its a lame question, Im just is a learning process at the moment.

Forms :: Combo Box - Reference Another Column In A Record

I have a form that has a combo box (box1), Its row source is from a table (table1) than the forms record source (query1). The data box1 sources is from column1 in table1.

I then have a text box (box2). I need it so when i select a record in box1 (from column1) that it displays the corresponding data in that same record (and table) but from column2

Example:

A table has a column with equations and another column with the answer.

I select "1+1" in the combo box
Then in the text box it displays "2"

Reference A Fields Values In The Record Source Query

I have a query on a form that is providing all of the information I need for everything on my form.

The problem is I don't know how to refer to a field's value in the query in VBA without having a hidden text field on the form.

I know I can reference a combo box's query to include criteria such as [Forms]![cboSelectStudent] if the control is actually on the form, but how would I refer to a value in the form's query that doesn't have a control on the form.

I've been searching for everything I can think to call this but haven't been able to come up with anything.

After entering all fields related to the record, when click on the command button, unique reference number for that record need to be generated and save with all other data of the records. in a later event, need to recall the record by using this reference number and also need to make relation ship with some other table by using the reference number.

I want Access to automatically generate a reference number for a record based on the values in on two other fields for a given record using a form.

The first field is called Operation Number.

The second is Bag Number.

The reference number needs to be in this format: 19C.3.1

Where 19C is the Operation Number, 3 is the bag number, and 1 is automatically generated. Additionally I need the last number --the automatically generated one--to go back to 1 if with each new bag number.

This is kind of like library catalog numbers. Not sure how to do this.

A)

End Sub

B)
Private Sub supplierID_AfterUpdate()
Forms![details1 Segédűrlap]![KombináltLista4].Requery
End Sub

These don't work. (The main form: INVOICES; the subform:DETAILS1 Segédűrlap; KombináltLista4 is the name of a combo box)

The version B work, when I open the form and the subform together, but of course I'd like to work only on the form (where the subform is displayed as well, but I can't refer to it...)

Change A Reference

I need to change the reference "Microsoft Access 9.0 Object Library" in Access 2000 with the "Microsoft Access 11.0 Object Library" but I can't de-select it 'cause it's used by the program. Another problem is that I tried to import the 11.0 copying the file and when I select it from the panel control it seems to import without problems, but when I search it in the list, the 11.0 doesn't exist.
How can I import it?

Reference Problem

Hi, I have been designing a database on my computer which seems to be working fine; 2 more users in the company should be able to use the database.In order to see if everything was working properly on other computers, I have put a copy of my db on the server and tried to open it on the other users computer station. Unfortunately, the reference library that I have been updating during the design of the database doesn't seem to apply to the other computers. I have been trying to update it on the other machine but the references on the tool menu in open module is not available.
I didn't expect this to hapened and I am not sure what to do, what would be the apropriate method to make the library available to the other computers?

I have an SDK that I normally use with VS.NET. I cannot seem to add the .dll as a Reference in my MS Access 2003 database. Is there something I am doing wrong, or a workaround to get it to work? I have .NET 3.0 installed on the PC.

I am trying:

forms!frmSWL!frmSite.Filter = "......."

Reference Number

Hi guys/gals

My primary key, RefNumber, is a sequentual Autonumber field. I want to creat my own Custommade autonumber field, but the catch is:
My autonumber field should have any of the following (selectable by the user from a combo box from a Form) attached in front of the number: DPR,DPZ,DFE,DGL,DMI,DGJ or DPE.
ie: the autonumber is at 14. The user selects DFE, but this is only the seconde choice made of DFE.

So the end product should be: RefNumber = 14
.........................................DistrictR efNumber = DFE2 or DFE002

Help please?

Reference Problem

Hello, I have been struggling with this for a while, and I'm hoping I can get some help. The problem I have relates to three tables. I pulled the tables off to the side to show the current relationships between them; Please see attached.

Here is my setup. I created a form that has all the fields in tblEntry, and a combo box whose record source is [EmployeeID] in tblEmployees.

The problem, when the user selects from the combo box, I am getting an entry for the field [EmployeeID] in tblEntry, but I am not getting an entry for [CategoryID] from tblCategory. Basically, I want the user to be able to select one thing and to get two entries: [EmployeeID] and [CategoryID].

Can anyone help me?

I have StartDate and EndDate fileds where I enter the date and time the employee starts and finishes his shift (in dddd dd mmmm yyyy hh:nn AM/PM format). However there is a penalty issue that starts at 7.00 PM.
How do I set up a non changing reference for 7.00 PM that I can reference to make a calculation.
For example I need to calculate penalties for when the employee works hours past 7.00 cutoff time.

I would appreciate any assistance to solve this problem

I am writing a query to calculate a running value, looking at the result of the line above and adjusting the running value in relation to new criteria. Make sense ?

For example

I have a number of dates which each have a value (a) against them dependant on the value in (a) I want to reward it in different ways and store the result in (b), I then want to look at (b) in the result of the above line in acessing how I will reward the next record.

Basically I want to read the value of the result of the line above when calculating the next line ? So it is basically cumulative through the query.

ps just found this forum so sorry for postiong a question first but any guidance appreciated.
