I have a listbox lst_IP_OPEN with a command button IP_SEND on a form fm_IP_STATUS Im am trying to get it so that when you select 1 item from the listbox and click the button it will update the field IP on another form fm_SYSTEM. I can get it to work updating a text field on the same form. But I can not get it to update a field on the other field. Both forms are open at the same time. The code I used to get it to work on the same form is

Hi, I'm new here, so I hope I'm posting this in the correct place. I've searched the forum to see if there are any existing threads that might help me, but I've not found anything that does... Right, I have a form (frmGroupRegister, which contains exactly the same fields as the table it comes from, tblGroupRegister), which consists of three things:
-GroupDate - The date a group took place on. It is my primary key, as no more than one group occurs on a specific date.
-ParentList (A listbox which contains a query showing the ID number, forename and surname of everyone in a table, tblParentDetails)
-ParentsAttending (A blank listbox)
I would like to place buttons in between the ParentList and ParentsAttending, which would allow users to conduct a 'register' of attendance by copying individual/multiple details from ParentList into ParentsAttending (much like you get when choosing which fields to include in a form when using a wizard for example). I would also like them to be able to remove people from ParentsAttending by using a button in case of accidentally adding the wrong person into the ParentsAttending box.
I'm aware that another, probably simpler way of achieving this would be to use a tick-box system, but I feel that visually, the first method would both look better and demonstrate who is present more clearly.
Any help would be much appreciated, but my Access skills are quite basic and things will probably need to be spelled out for me. I'm using Access 2000 and Windows XP. Thanks for your help, Alice :)
1. On my main form, I have a listbox, I would like to edit the values of the listbox.
To do this, I have a popup form with 2 listboxes, one to have the values of the listbox on the main form, and the other listbox with option values for the 1st
1) how to i pass the rowsource sql of the listbox on the main form to the listbox on the popup form
2) how on closing the popup form, do i update the rowsource sql listbox on the main form from the changed value of the popup form listbox rowsource sql
I'm trying to create a database where a single "Classification" field is populated by selections made in a multiselect listbox and I can't figure out how to do this. Any help people can provide?
Table 1: Name_ID <pk> Name Classification
Table 2: Classification_ID <pk> Classification
What I want to happen is click on a button next to the Classification field (text) and a popup form with a multi-select list loads (this part is easy, of course). The user can select as many classifications as they want, click the ok button and each item selected then goes back to the first form and populate in the Classification field (seperated by commas or semi-colons). This possible?
OK - I have seen the other posts where individuals are trying to select multiple items from a list box and have a field populate with the selections. I have not seen a clear explanation defining if this is possible.
Essentially, I want to be able to query on the field and search for multiple selections within that field. Any recommendations as to how this can be achieved?
My next question, is if the selections in a multiple instance field are separated by a comma or some other character what is the best method to query for multile responses. For example, if the following data is in the field 1,2,3 and I want to query on 1 or 2?
I have a form with several fields bound to a table, and also a listbox of records that are not bound to any table. What I want to do is to be able to double-click a record in my listbox and have the record show up on my form in a particular bound field, and also become a part of the underlying table's record.
Is it possible to do this? If it is, how would I do it?
I've a form with comboboxes and listboxes on, which populates a table with data. The cbo or lbo are bound to the relevant table field.
Unfortunatley, there is one lbo that just wont update the relevant table field. I've tried lots of different settings and etc, following advice reseacrhed from these forums.I've even tried copying an lbo that does work, all with no luck.
Has anyone ever had similar experience? If so, how do I get out of it?

i want to display a single field values in list box with query as row source.the query will produce variable number of records or rows. sometime 1, sometimes 3 or 6 my thought is to distribute these records/row into list box column. for example:
if query = 1 then listbox column = 1
if query = 6 then listbox column = 3 (two rows per column).
The main form has textbox & a Listbox with which I filtered a datasheet inside a sub form. Everything worked fine only the listbox [Discipline] is not working !! it cuase Run-time error: 3831 - The multi-valued field "[Category]" cannot be used in a WHERE or HAVING clause.
So how do I filter a multivalued Listbox field [Discipline] ?

basically the job1 form has a search feature added to it..
as users type the passenger name in the form.. a listbox below updates if a match is found..
if you can imagine the situation..
my user will be entering jobs into this form.. they will not know whether or not a passenger has used us before.. the only way they will know is if they see in the listbox the same name.. and pickup/destination/phone no. details as the job they are about to enter
i wondered if it was possible for the user to click on the customer in the listbox.. and drag and drop it into the passenger name textbox..
can this be done.. the attatchment is very simple.. one form.. job1.

I have a form where a user can select from a listbox (pulled from a database) and "Add product" - it then goes into a Textbox, each taking a new line when "Add product" button pressed. Then when they press "Add Customer" those details along with other entered details gets stored in my Customer Database..
The textbox store multi-line entries in the "ProductName" field heading in database.
Is there anyway i can use a List instead of the textbox? Adding individual entries to one certain customer? I have an EDIT facility aswell so would be easier to have a "Remove Product" button instead of manually backspacing a whole product entry from another textbox (containing all products, on new lines).

my textbox is based on one of my tables, and when I enter a value (which is saved in my table) in my textbox and press enter, certain values in my table goes to my listbox, and my listbox will just additem whenever I do same thing in my textbox all overagain.

I want my listbox to display the list from the first cell in field 2.

PS I know something similar can be done in visual basic. For example, a simple program can be written to take a list (seperated by commas (,) ) and then display this list in a listbox on the form. Is there a way that the simple code such as that can be altered to work in access?
I'm creating a Form called Pharmacy where I can select a [Diagnosis] from a combo box in the form. This combo box source references a table called tblDiagnosis where each Diagnosis also has a multi-valued field called [Indications].
The Pharmacy form also has a multi-select listbox with all possible Indications. I would like to write a VBA code such that when a Diagnosis is selected, the Indications for that Diagnosis are automatically selected/highlighted in the listbox on the form as well.
As such, by selecting a Diagnosis, all the indications attached to that Diagnosis will automatically be selected; however, if additional indications are needed, they can still be selected afterward.
I know that there is a function Me!Listbox.Selected(i) = True, where i is the row of the entry in the listbox. However, the i in the listbox does not correspond to the ID of the Indication. I think that if there is a way to select listbox items by name, that would be much more efficient.
The reason I have a listbox, is because this listbox of Indications then references another table called tblDrugs where all drugs that are approved for the selected indications selected are filtered and displayed.
I have a multi-select listbox (called PotentialItems) which behaves perfectly unless one of the fields has a null value in it, in which case I get an error 13, "Type mismatch" in the following code. It is valid business-wise for column 9 to be null.

I would like to make it multi-select and populate a LOCATIONS list box and a NAMES list box based upon the CITIES that are selected.

I intended to have the variable LocQryStr as the row source but I abandoned the idea of having multi-select when I saw that .Selected(I) never returned true. Its like the values aren't read in this subroutine.

I am trying to populate a textbox from a field in a table based on clicking on a item in a listbox. User clicks a name from the Client table in the client field, and the date that is stored in the orderDate in the same row. I want the text11 textbox to show that date.
I have a field in a table where it is a lookup is a combo box. So this makes the data type of the field a number when in reality it is a text. When I have this field show in a list box it shows the number instead of the text.
Okay then, after much trouble and confusion, I finally realized I need to use an Extended listbox in order to allow for multiple items to be selected from a list on my form (rather than the evil multiple selection combobox!).

When a item is chosen I want a form to open (OnOpen or OnLoad Event ??) with a recordsource depending on one of the 10 items chosen in the list box. I have listbox in formA named "Liste1", this listbox contains a departmentvalue (unique) in the first column shown in the listbox.
What i want to do is open a new form (frmStructureDetails) by doubleclicking on the listbox, and i want the new form to load with filter on that department. Btw the departmentvalue is textformatted.

From that list of selected records, my goal is to allow the user to use each school selected and use that as a record source for a continous form so I can allow the user to input a integer next to it, like school size.
