I wonder how can I obtain a merged information by filtering datas from two separate tables?
The following describes my working above;
TABLE 1 - DATE, PART NAME, PART NO., QTY & COST
TABLE 2 - DATE, DO NO., PART NAME, PART NO., QTY & COST
Output = TABLE 1 data merged TABLE 2 data and information sorted as the following sequence -> DATE, DO NO., PART NAME, PART NO., QTY & COST

I have a large query that basically collects all informations for a given record from various tables. The query is then used as a controlsource for a report. It works fine. However, one of the tables referenced is a one-on-one relationship to the master table and there some records that do not have any corresponding records in that child table. I've entered in Nz() function for all fields from the child function to prevent the records without child records removed from the query's recordset, but it doesn't work. That is, query returns all records that has a child record, but not those without.I've already checked the Join properties to ensure that all parent records are displayed and only child records where there is a parent records.What should I do?

I am getting information on products stored in a query. I want that query to check a couple tables to see if an item is linked through all of them. If it is not listed in the last table (catalog) I want it to be shown.

I've done this tons of times, so I don't understand what's happening... The title says it all: when I update the ID of one record of the main table, the referenced records on related tables won't update even though they have a relationship between them with the option "Cascade update" clicked.
In the attached database, the main table "Expedientes" is related to table "Actuaciones".
I have 3 tables.
One is a list of fishermen with all their info. I used a Code as the primary key.
The 2nd is a fish ticket sheet with fish tickets entered and the code in there as a foreign key in the relationship between the two.
I create a report listing the fish tickets and prices perfectly for the 4 fishermen I have entered fish tickets for. (I have 140 fishermen in the main table)
I added a 3rd table for payments made to the fishermen. There are two payments for 2 of the fishermen.
then, I go into report design view and drag in two of the cells from that 3rd table into my report.
The problem is the report then prints JUST the fish tickets and payments for the two fishermen that have payments...not the info for all 4 fishermen. I need to print out settlements for all the fishermen whether they have payments or not?
I have an append query created to add files to a table from an imported excel file. The table to which I am appending (SubTBL) has a field names Observation. This field is not required. There is a relationship to another table (ObservationTBL) which has 3 records. The information I am trying to append includes 7000 records, about 4000 have observations assigned and they match the information in the ObservationTBL. The remaining 3000 have blank records for observation. When I run the append query, only those with observations are appended. The rest are not added because of "key violations". I removed the relationship between the ObservationTBL and the SubTBL and the append query runs. Then when I try to re-do the relationship it fails "Violates referential integrity rules".To be clear:
1. The records without an observation are blank. (There are other fields in this append that have blank fields also and they are not causing any problems)
2. The field observation is NOT set to required.
Is it not allowing Null records?
I am using SharePoint 2010 lists as my tables in my access file.the users sometimes have no access to the sharepoint and I want them to sync their tables to sharepoint later once they do have access to the web.I have no problem doing it on the regular access file, but when I'm using the access runtime, I don't have the option to sync the tables after working offline.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a code module in my interface with 3 functions that run via separate forms with user inputs. Each function is similar in design, exporting data from a generated query to excel for input into external software.
The database is split into an interface FE (Access 2007) with linked tables BE (Access 2000). I have successfully tested each of the 3 functions in my code module with a set of tables containing fake test data. However, I have discovered that if I link to a different copy of the .mdb tables, 2 of the export functions no longer work and the third one still works fine.
What is causing the problem but the part that is not working correctly is the loop.

Access 2013 stops working when I open any table in design mode, and select any field with the type "Number". I can edit Text, Date or Yes/No fields, but not Number ones.

We will soon be updating to MS office 2010 and the program will not work now because a calender file .ocx was removed from access 2010. Is there a way to get the 2007 .ocx file to work in access 2010?The program I am using is a relatively simple stand-alone and unsupported app that we use to request patient arrival and departure from various radiology tests inside a hospital. No reports are made from the app other than the number of patient transports for the day.
The app is placed on a common drive accessed from any pc in the hospital. No special permissions are required. But our app does use the calendar, time and date functions in access 2007. When I tried the app on a pc with access 2010, it basically says it (access) cannot open the app because a .ocx file is not present.Is there a way to make the access 2010 calendar file work in access 2007?
I have an Access 2010 database with two tables and two forms. The tables are Organizations and People. Similarly, the forms are Organizations Entry Form and PeopleEntryForm. The People are linked to the Organizations table. Several people can be linked to the same organization.On my Organizations EntryForm, I created a command button to duplicate a record using the wizard. It works fine.
I did exactly the same thing on the PeopleEntryForm, but instead of copying the record, it creates a new blank record. I don't get any error messages. Is my problem due to the fact that the People table is linked to the Organizations table?

I figure as I have their birthday, armed with todays date access should be able to tell me (in years only) how old they are.

I have 2 computers (computer 1 with Office XP and computer 2 with Office XP SP1). An MDE file created from an MDB file on computer 1 will not work on computer 2 (run time error), but an MDE file created on computer 2 also does not work on computer 1 (error message was "database corrupted").
Does anyone know why and what I can do to make the MDE work on both machines?
Hi. I have got a small database, I have split it into front and back end. I then try to make an MDE out of the front end and after going to tools>db utilities>make MDE file, i got the save as box open up and i pressd save to my desktop,the box disappears and the screen is just blank(like there is no database file has been open,at the bottom of Access it says Make MDE/ADE.
And it just crashes.. it doesnt come up with any errors.
If anyone has any information pleeeeeaaaseee help.......
My Combo Box works and displays new entries in text boxes in my form. The selection appears in every record. I would like the selection to be stored only in the displayed record and not for each and every record. Any ideas?
My combo box works on an existing query( Qry1). I would like the data from my query (Qry1) to be displayed in the record (in Form1) which I am viewing. When I go onto a new record (IN Form1) I would like to make a new selection from my query (Qry1) and then store these details in the new record in Form1.

This seems so simple, but, being a novice, I'm scratching my head.
I'm using an unbound text box in the form footer to sum the value of a column in the form ( =Sum([LineTotal]) ). [LineTotal] evaluates correctly, yet the sum is always #ERROR. Is there something I am missing, or am I correct in thinking that this should work?

I open a form that is bound to a linked SQL table. On that form a have a list box that shows a series of records based on a query. The listbox DOES contain the PK field "Record_date" in its query.
I am expecting that if I click on a given record in the list box the form would change to that matching record. What am I doing wrong ?

Also have this query:

My problem lies in this part of query :
WHERE calculations.month_id in (forms!frmMyForm!txtMyTextbox.value).
I've got problem when i want to get values from my textbox on my form.
If i instead (forms!frmMyForm!txtMyTextbox.value) put (1,2) my query works fine,but when i wanna get this same values from textbox on my form it returns me an error.
I have also noticed one more thing:If i put in my textbox just value 1 it works fine,but if i use more values separeted by comma instead of result it returns me an error.
Why is this,and how to avoide this problem?

For osme reason this MS Access database I'm working on will not let me debug it. First off, even if I mistype a variable name it is not breaking and giving me an error message. I checked and I do have 'Option Explicit' set as well as "Error Trapping - Break on All Errors" in the Tools - Options - General.
Also, when I set a breakpoint in my code, it doesn't work either.
Any ideas as to what is going on??

Our database is 1.6gb in size.
It has stopped working, is there a way to delete old records?
We are told it will crash the computer, because access needs the same space as the data its self.

I'm working on a dbase now that categories files used for sales. The dbase has 2 functions: searching the texts and saving/editing the texts. I'm not a (Hollywood) star in VBA and a need to build in the search function an option where the user can search in the found documents :( . In the save/edit option the user has to copy/paste the text in access and save the text with his attributes. The texts are saved outside the dbase in the same folder, but when the text is saved i'd like the filepath as an attribute-value. Pls help me!
I installed Microsoft Office 2003 on my computer. It asks me to register the product otherwise not all functions will work properly. I was curious so I didn't register it and started an Ms Access Application. Interestingly, when I clicked on a checkbox in a form , nothing happened.
After registering the product and going back in to the mdb the checkbox worked just fine.
Any one ever seen this before or know what causes that?

This is on a command button that references an unbound field (ARyear). Naturally when I enter 2005, it pulls up the proper form - however, when I enter 2006 I recieve an error: Run Time '2467'. However, it still opens the form if I click on 'END' on the error box.
My guess is that the code is not finished and thats why the 2005 works (because its at the end).
How do I fix this?
