I'm currently attempting to setup a small database to track a few things for the company I work for, namely attendance. Currently they use an excel spreadsheet that covers the current year. This worked great for them when they were still a small company, but with the number of employees shooting from 50'ish to a couple hundred the spreadsheet is just not a viable option any more.
What I need is suggestions on the best way(s) to go about implementing this.
First, I need to do a 1 year look back, on a montly level is fine. So from January 2008 back to January 2007 will work fine. What i have currently setup is a form with 12 of the basic Calender controls built into access 2003. Unfortunatley these wont quite work.
Basic layout of my database so far will be an employees info table, a lookup table for Attendance codes and their infraction values and an attendance (or I suppose more technically an absence) table. I would like to have a form that displays a calendar view for the last 12 months, that will allow me to view / update any absences for an employee. I would also like a way to insert company holidays / shutdowns in to the attendance table in a way that marks it on any employees calendar as a scheduled day off. I assumed i could do this with a simple "all" employee along with the dates and have the calendar search for entries with the Employee ID as well as the All flag and mark those on the calendar.
I think if i can just get the calendar setup covered I can figure out the rest of the data aspects, I'm just stuck on finding a decent way to implement the Calendar Aspect.
I am trying to make a database for my employees to count their attendance according to the days of the month and then get their salary. How to create a form that show the days of the month and then i can add the names of the attending employees.
I have a database which I have written for part of my coursework for school. However I have a small comany interested in it, I have added security to it using the wizard in access and what I would like to be able to do now is to be able to see when each user has logged in and logged out so I can track how much use it has had when I go to carry out maintance on it.
I know this one might be pushing it but I would also like it to say what each user has accessed while they have been logged on.
Do any of you know how to do this? or could you give me some pointers about were to start?
I would like to keep track of 5 seperate funds (or stocks) by price, daily change, total change...etc.
I was thinking of having a table with date as the primary key containing the daily price of each fund. I will enter the prices into this table manually every day.
A second table will automatically makes appropriate calculations and save these changes on a daily basis based on the date. With no user input.
Is this possible?
Can I have the second table automatically grab the dates from the first table? Would the second table use date as primary key for calculations?
i am making a db for a gym. the members pay yearly and the fact that they have paid is shown by a tick box in the members table. i therefore want to reset these boxes to 'No' at the beginning of each year. anyone got any way that this could be done. thanks
Here what I want to do. I want to use the autonumber facility which will restart by itself yearly in the following way. 1/2004 2/2004 3/2004 4/2004 . . 1/2005 2/2005 3/2005 4/2005
I've been asked to come up with a method of tracking outbound calls for my company. This is a new job for me and I'm aiming to impress.. but I'm a touch out of my element so I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel here.
I've found this starting point: [URL] .....
But I'm having difficulty conforming it to function the way I need it to. Basically, I want the applet to
-store the employees name -store customer names that were called -a checkbox for whether or not an appointment was set -a textfield storing an appointment date/time [if applicable]
-four radiobuttons to select which area of the business the call pertains to
The employees would submit new values everyday, and ideally I would like the data to be accessible in a real time line graph.. I totally assumed this would have been done and redone before and that there would be a plethora of templates to choose from online, but for the most part my search has been fruitless and the only solid lead is the one posted above.
Got a little system going whereby when a job is created it will display the date that the job is next due by.
I'm trying to work out how to create a qry that will display all due dates & not just the next one.
Here is how it should work. If a job is created on the 1st of April 2007 & the type of job is MONTHLY then I want it to list the rest of the monthly orders that are planned for the year.
Here are the different PPM types that I'm using to calculate with 8784= Yearly 43848= 5 Yearly 2208= 3 Monthly 744= Monthly 168= Weekly
Has anyone done anything similar cause I can't see how it can be done?
This is what I'm using to create the next date due
Here is my qry that the above code is in. SELECT tblPPMType.PPMID, tblBuildings.PropertyName, tblPPMType.PPMType, tblTasks.DateReported, tblPPMType.PPMNextDue, DateAdd("h",DLookUp("[PPMNextDue]","[tblPPMType]","[tblPPMType]![PPMID]=" & [PPMID]),[DateReported]) AS NextDue, tblContracts.ConDescription FROM tblContracts INNER JOIN (tblBuildings INNER JOIN (tblPPMType INNER JOIN tblTasks ON tblPPMType.PPMType = tblTasks.JobDetails) ON tblBuildings.ProID = tblTasks.BuildingID) ON tblContracts.ContID = tblTasks.ContractNo ORDER BY tblPPMType.PPMType;
I made a report that show a list of data where there is a date. It sorts the report by year then by month.I collects the information about the date from a field in a table where the whole date is inserted (example28.12.2014. (date/month/year)).What I want is to make a combobox or a listbox where you would chose a year you want it to show you the report for and a button that would open the report. So to make it clear in a form you would have a combobox where years would be displayed (and i would like the combobox to somehow know what years are inserted in the table), you select the year and click on the button that would open the report for that year.
The report name is "rptClients". The table from where the data for report is taken is "tblCustomers" and the field where the date is in the table is called "DateOfUse".Also in the report the date is in a field called "DateOfUse" also.
I am currently preparing a time tracker in my office where there are similar task assigned to different users.
I created a form and split it for front end user and back end user. front end database was copied by each user in their local. However problem is that whenever a front end user update their database it is also reflected in other users database. Is their anyway front end user can see their database only....
My Main Table in my Database is "Quotation", what do i need to do in order to create a new Main Table called "Quotation Tracker" and "Quotation" would now be under "Quotation Tracker"
I am trying to track a yearly training in Access 2010 but am not quite sure how to accomplish it. The training originally was just a one-time thing, due within two weeks of a new hire's start date so I currently have it displayed as three fields in my employee table (Due Date [Calculated], Completed [Date/Time], Paid [Yes/No]). Now, employees will be required to complete this training every year (beginning January 1st, not from employee's start date) and I don't know how to accomplish the tracking it.
I need to keep each year's completion date and whether or not the employee was paid. Currently, the "Paid" field is linked to a query that populates a list of employees that have not completed the training. If the "Paid" Yes/No box is unchecked, the employee's name will be listed in the query; once I check the Yes/No box then the employee's name is removed.
What would be the easiest way to track this training for each year? There are several other training that I am tracking but are one-time only events; these too are separate fields in my Employee table.
I have a members DB that apart from full details also show payments of yearly subscriptions. I am trying to print a report that shows a list of all the lapsed members. sounds like a simple simple report, BUT...I have a table that includes male and female members on one club number, idealy man and wife, but if for some reason the part company one may not pay the others subs those making the other a lapsed member. is there anyway i can print one part without the other?
E.g. this is haw it prints now
Male Name Paid Female Name Paid J Smith No M Smith Yes
I'm new to Access. It is obviously a very powerful database program I've developed a data base of my agency's service purchases for a variety of clients. I have to generate a report totaling the monthly purchases and counting the number of unduplicated clients. We make multiple purchases for clients monthly. There must be a feature on this program that will sort through the client ID Numbers and count them (rejecting duplicates) in that one month or quarter or year. I've been exporting to excel, sorting by client ID and then counting each new ID number.
I have a task of creating a database to track committee members attendance at meetings. Members can be on more than one committee. I have created tables for committees, committee population and committee members.
The meetings would take place once a month and do not need an exact date. A Yes/No would suffice for record of attendance. My question is what would be the best way to set up the table to track this since members can be on more than one committee?
I'm thinking that having a separate meeting table for each committee would be a bad idea. But haven't come up with any other ideas. Any suggestions???
for some days i've a problem with an Access-Query and up to now i didn't succeed to find an answer, i'm not even sure if there is one.
So, how to explain my problem. I'm trying to compile a Database for my small department to organize our computer-short-course students (application, grades, attendance...)
And with the grades i have a problem as well as with the attendance. Up to now we are just using paper sheets for grades and attendance. So i just thought that it would be the easiest thing to create a similiar-looking form, drawing of planned Query-output-layout is attached.
The attendance should be set with a checkbox. New days are set with a small subform. For the attendance i've this table-layout:
tblAttendance aSID aCID aDate aPresent
When a new day is set, every student gets a new record at the tblAttendance, which shall be compiled together for the later Attendance Form.
So now the big question comes, is it possible to create a query that fits my needs (variable amount of days and students and the possibility to set my records)? It is important that i've a big sheet with all the days, students of a course at the same time.
Any suggestions - i'm completly lost. Thanks in advance, protos
I am trying to create an attendance application for my group of 6people, does anyone have or know where i can find any to look at. I don't even know where to begin.
Daily in and out. Keeping tabs of our vacation days/sick days. I just need to know where to begin, or need a sample for ideas in creating this. I have looked high and low. Please show me/tell me if you have any or how you did it, if you have done it before. Thanks friends!
I posted this here but didn't get any response. http://access-programmers.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=114099
I am creating a new database system for my cadet organisation, and I am in the early stages of learning how to use Access. (I am using this as a learning curve, as I need to get to grips with Access for University, there's no better way to learn than by doing.)
I want a system that stores the attendance of cadets on each night we meet, so far I have:
|Table| Cadets CadetID - AutoNumber (PK) FName - Text LNAme - Text Flight - Lookup from Flight Table
|Table|Flights FlightID - AutoNumber (PK) Flight - Text
|Table|Attendance AttendanceID - AutoNumber (PK) Attendance Type - Text
The table that actually contains the register I am unsure how to structure, it would have to contain Cadet Name/ID, the date and Attenance type, from attendance DB.
The table would be updated every Tuesday and Thursday, when we meet. I've been thinking for a while about how to do this and can't find a good solution.
As the data will be entered by a user (who won't know Access from Adam) I'd like a form that lists all the cadets in the Cadet table, as each of these will have to be registered, and then a drop down box listing the options from the Attendance table next to each cadet, doesn't have to be drop down, can be optionbutton, image....
In the final version I would like the cadets to be sorted by flight in the form, but lets not go mad yet!
Can anyone help me with this? Or am i simply being silly?
I haven't used Access for long, but have used VBA in Excel before and am a fairly experienced user; I will attempt anything but bare with me if at first I don't succeed.
Hello everyone, I am buiding up a database for activity school. Here first step of buiding the base, I got an attendance data type problem. i am now using "yes/no", but if i want to query about the number of student each class, is that possible?
I am trying to make a class attendance form, where user chooses classType ex:"English, French" then the program shows all of the students from tblStudents that are enregistered in that class. And some how make it so that user could select on or many users in the same class and press add button which will add the students into attendance table for the current class and the current day,
**Allso what I would like to do if possible after the form above works, is to if the student has been allready added for the current day, the check box becomes un editable with appropriable comment in the comments line for that student or for examples the student registered for 12 classes, the attendance keeps track of the classes and when the student tryed to go to 13'th class the check box is uneditable and in the comments line for that student metions the reases.
