I'm looking for help with this error message: "Microsoft Jet database engine can't find the input table..." And the reason it can't find it seems to be that it's looking for an DBF file (which was a format I once had the data in, a long time ago) rather than the mdb file which I have been using forever. Any ideas?

When I run (or step through the code, I get the Run-Time Error 3078 ... database cannot find the input table.However, when I copy the debug.print output in the immmediate window and paste into the query builder, the query runs. Here is an example of the debug.print output:
UPDATE [Print] set OpenPO = NO where [GPO Invoice Number] = '40333'
where OpenPO is a yes/no field and [GPO Invoice Number] is a string

I'm trying to run a UNION query that joins five queries through a MS WorkSpace into a DAO.recordset in VB. I'm pulling the data from a SQL Server Database through VB in Access. I'm attempting to open a recordset with a query passed to it as a string. The query is below. For some reason, I'm receiving a message: "MS Jet database engine cannot find the input table or query. Runtime Error 3078".
Here's what's puzzling. When I run a single query without any UNION statement, the code finds the table and runs fine without error, but anytime I join two or more queries with a UNION statement in the VB, it gives me the error.
I've executed the same UNION query in both Access Query Builder and SQL Server's Query Analyzer and they work fine in both environments. It's only when I call the query from a DAO.Recodset with VB that it causes this problem. The following is a sample of the UNION query joining two of the five queries. Does anyone have any idea what could be the problem? The following query executes in about 5 seconds so I don't think there's a "time-out" issue. I'm thinking that the UNION statement may be the culprit. Maybe there's another way to approach joining these separate queries? Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks.

Is there a way for me to do a find/replace on a '#'? I am trying to remove all '#' in a text field. When I do a find/replace (replace '#' with ''), it removes all my numbers from the text field.
Any suggestions?

One of the tables in my access file is a linked excel file. I however now want to create a form with which I want people can enter information in the table. However when I try to do this, it doesn't work. Whether it's possible to create an input form for an excel linked access table?

Run Time error 7951. You entered an expression that has an invalid reference to the Recordset Clone Property. I tried inserting a command to open frmMain in the first line, even before the two Dim statements, but I get the same result.

I would like to do as a report. (Dates would always be from Sunday to Saturday). I am not sure it is possible to do that. I suppose first it would mean:I would have to do a query to separate the times from the dates?I would have to find a way for Access to find the unique dates and unique names?Does it mean I have to use cross tab queries?
I have an "order details" table that needs to populate a field called "Voucher" with data from another table called "codes". The "codes" table also has a true/false field called "allocated" because once allocated the code cannot be re-used.
I am trying to work out how to automatically allocate the next unallocated code in the "codes" table to each record in the "order details" table when that order details record has a DiscountID of "92".
Order Details Table Fields and conditions/criteria:
ID - primary key
DiscountID - only when the DiscountID = 92
Voucher - only populated when Discount ID = 92
Codes table Fields and conditions/criteria:
ID - primary key
code = text field with a code like "einstein01", "einstein02"
Allocated = False
Is there a way to put the next available code into the order details record then mark that code as allocated in the codes table. Then, move on to the next order details record that has a discountID = 92, input the next unallocated code and mark that code etc. etc.
Ideally, I would like to do this to happen via an event when the Order forms button "Close" is clicked.
How can you determine the name of a table that has/is going to be created by a make-table?

On this input form, one field can bring up 2 other small forms based on data in a particular field. My problem is, I'm trying to get all the data from all of the forms to go in to that main table. It goes in to the table, but not as the same record. Is there a way to connect these??? Make sense?

I'm thinking that maybe when the website gets published a copy of the DB is moved somewhere and I'm looking in the wrong place? I want ot design a monthly table which shows each day 1-31 but I want to be able to enter a data value manually for each day.
I'm looking at building a query from the table which asks me for the date ie; 2Aug06 and then asks me for a value ie; 6 so the query (from which I can build my report) shows 02Aug 06 6

In a table I need to store ingredients with a unit and an amount. Some recipes will have 3 ingredients, some will have 17. So it would be nice if the ingredients can go in to one column. How would I go about adding this to a table? A name is simple because it is one cell and will always be one cell. An ingredient however, is any number of different inputs. So would each ingredient add a new field or is there a way to get all that information using only 1 field?
I need all this stored.

I have a function that capture a report activity ,open, close, updated by query, etc.... I have a report that has a inputbox on the open event that tell the user this date the report will display is from a previous update and ask if they want to run the query to update the data.
What I was hoping to do, is have this inputbox only fire if the date and time written when the last update occurs was 24 hours ago.
Can I capture the date and time that the function captures and writes to a table as a variable and you that date and time to detemine whether that inputbox fires?

I have a database created in Access 2000. It works OK on computer number one. When I copy the data base to another computer and open it, the table can not be found. The error message is "D:DocsdgrDocent Library Nov 2005 is not a valid path. Make sure that the path name is spelled correctly and that you are connected to the server on which it resides" The path mentioned is the original path on computer number one. The DB opens but it will not find the table or the queries etc. I thought that moving the DB had something to do with it but when I copied the DB to an external HD and then opened it, it works fine. But when I connect the external HD to the other computer it doesn't find the table.
Both computers have Access 2000.
Number one is XP and number two is W2000.

I am using the code below to populate three fields by selecting the data from one combo box
In the AfterUpdate event of a cmbBox I have entered the code:
Me.[Part Code] = Me.cmbBox.Column(0)
Me.Description = Me.cmbBox.Column(1)
Me.Cost = Me.cmbBox.Column(2)
When I then try to select from the drop down list I get a message sying that the Macro cannot be found. What am I missing?
I guess this is pretty fundamental but I cant get it right! I want to search for a member by post code so I need to have validation for my table field post code so that when my parameter query accepts the post code input records will be returned covering all input types e.g. Users can put in CF72 (space)9AD or CF729AD and still get the same records or alternately how do I make users enter Post Codes with the correct UK spacing i.e 4 characters a space then the remaining characters?
