Automatically Change Combo Box Value Trigger By Text Box

Hello,
This is the first time I am join this web & forum. My name is Angie.
I have face some problem for Ms Access. I would like combo box to be auto change when date due. Eg: combo box name: Status. Inside have info such as Expired, Active, Ignore. This info will base on the text box name txtenddate. When the date is due, (eg:today:09 May 06), combo box will auto change the status from Active to Expired.
Any VB code can be used. Thanks.

I have requested this before but the example given did not fit my situation and I had a heck of a time trying to adapt the example given to me so I will step by step describe what I need. thanks...
Can someone show me how to do the following:
1) Take a combo box that looks up a table that has 2 variables (Var1 and Var2).
2) Depending on the value chosen in the combobox (Var1) then a text field will automatically have the value (Var2) appear.
3) This information from combo box and text field will then be stored in a separate table that is linked to the form.

Is there a way to extend this example further by adding another combo box that takes the result from the first combo box to filter in values for the second combo box which will then automatically populate a text box which would then be stored in a separate table.

Someone kind of showed me before but they used unbound variables and this confused me as the combobox was unbound but how is that information stored into my table?
Pardon me for my redundancy but this is frustrating me to no end and I unfortunately have a deadline of today!!!! :(
I think it is the row source thing that confuses me. I take row source to mean where the data is stored. But where do you identify where to obtain the data to then store in your "inputed" table?

I have a report card program that I use in my classroom. The program calculates letter grades for various sub categories.
For example, under the Primary Category Math, the computer will calculate a letter grade based on assignment scores and place the grade into a combo box for the sub category "Able to use a graphing calculator."
If I override the grade the program calculated for a student, I would like the text in the combo box to change to red for that student only. Then I can go back and quickly see which grades I have manually changed.
I just cannot seem to figure out the logic to use VBA that would check to see if a user has changed individual combo boxes.

I have two forms sourced from one table. if the address of a client has changed then there is a Command button that opens a form to enter the previous address.
What I want is for the text on the command button to change to red if there is a previous address filled in. I have seen it done but cannot copy the code. What I have is on the OnCurrent event of the (main form)

Any ideas??? (I wanted to have the database completed before the New Year (less than 12 hours to go!!!)

I have
an unbound combo box
an unbound text box (made to resemble a memo field)
a continuous form with many schooltype
The form is filtered by schooltype when the unbound combo box is changed i.e. high school, primary etc
I have made a field in the tblSchoolType called emMessage1 (there is 2, 3 etc)
The idea is that you choose to filter the form and then the relevant type emMessage1 appears in the text box
So if you choose high school then the high school emmessage1 appears (filled with the text) because all the high schools are tied to tblschooltype - when you select high you are getting the high emmessage1
When I select all records I am guessing that the text box will be invisible until you select a school type in the combo box (to avoid problems)...
When you have selected a type, the text gets swapped accordingly to the corresponding id of school type id thus changing emMessage1 to suit and make the textbox visible...
Now I can type in the field and it saves it in the table however:
I do not know how to do this. I thought about dlookup but not sure if that will allow me to change or whether it will do this...

How to change a combo box to a text box control in a subform for a field that is based on a two-column value list. I want to be able show the value in the unbound column (which is a text value instead of a number).
My subform has a field called "ProjectStatus". This field is a value list in my projects table with the following row source:
1;"Built";2;"Unbuilt";3;"Active";4;"On Hold";5;"Completed (Master Plan)";0
So, it is set as a two-column value list with a number data type for the bound column. In my forms, column 1 is made invisible (set to 0") so that only the text value is shown to the user. This works fine with combo boxes.
However, I want to change the unsightly combo box to a text box and show the text value of the unbound column (this form will only be used to show data not for entry). When I change it to a text box control, the value that appears is a number, of course.
If ProjectStatus were based on a table, rather than a lookup value list, I would query it but I am not sure how it should be done with a value list. I could just store the text value instead, I guess, and redo a bunch of stuff or I could create a "Status" table and redo a bunch of stuff (this seems like my lot in life lately) but I feel like there should be some way to do this.

I have about 4 combo boxes with a list value of dates in them, combo1 is the 'main control'. When a date from combo1 is chosen and a button is clicked, the other 3 combo boxes receive a default value that closely matches combo1. In fact the default value each of the 3 combo boxes receive exists in that combo box. For example, if I gave combo2 default value "2013/01/01", it actually has that date in its list. What I want to do is trigger a OnChange even after combo2,3,4 receive their values. Other things happen after the OnChage trigger is fired.

Hello to all the xperts out there,
I have a query with this criteria for Date field:
Where (([tblList].Date)>=#11/1/2005# And ([tblList].Date)<#12/1/2005#))
Is there any quick way, besides creating a form and run the query based on it, to have this criteria updated itself when it's a new month? I've gotten tired of changing it every month.

hi...
im trying to create like a test in access. this is the idea. the user open the first form to enter the info like student number, name and so on. when he clicks the button he goes to another form where is the first question. in the top part is the student number wich was obtained from the First form and an option group with the answers to the question of the label box. Also a timer was included so the form close after one minute using the form_timer event. everything seem to work fine but when i go to the table to see the answers of the student, it look like if the student took the test for the number of questions, in this case forms, so if there is 20 questions(forms) it appears 20 times under the same student number, cuz all the questions are in diferent forms. then i try to take out this line from the first form when the user click the button:
DOCMD.GOTORECORD,, aclast
when i take that line out it seem to work fine only that when the user click the cmd button it goes to the first record instead of the active student record.
So then i thought of tab pages making them not visible until the user click the cmd button. it work fine with the cmd button but how do i put a timer to all the tab pages so that when time expires the next tab appear??
is that a bit hard??/
any help would be appreciated, thanx

I'm creating a leave (holiday) database but each year must be kept seperate for analysis. (I have split the front and backend of the database) I thought of using a dropdown on the main page which could be used to select the year which relates to the leave being dealt with. Depending on the choice selected (present financial year as default) the links would update to the required database.
Any ideas?

I am new with Access database and I found almost everything i needed on the internet. There is only one thing I just cant figure out when this looked like one of the easier things. Im making a database where all soorts of keys of all kinds of companies and homes are stored. In this database I want to keep track of the keys that are being used, who has the keys and when the keys are taken and brought back.
Most of these things work except one thing. In the table where I have the keys I have a field wich is 'In use'. This is a yes/no field and I want it to be yes when someone takes a key and to switch back to no when someone returns it. This is possible if it is done by the employees who use the keys but i want it to go automatically so no mistakes are made.
I have one table for the keys, one for the employees that take and return the keys, I use a master with detail form for when someone takes or returns a key and this is all shown in a query.

In a field called PSSheets I want the number to be update every new entry, if I use the AutoNumber feature it won't let me enter the number I want to start with, which is 1421001, then the next number would be 1421002 and so on right up to 1421200 and then the number would change to 1422001.
14/21/001 relates to Year/Week/Entry.

I'm making a db that will import a spreadsheet from Excel, then separate it into 3 different tables using queries, but then I need to put all the 3 different tables together one after the other. The problem is that the 3rd column on each table have different names on each table, so I can't append the tables together.
So, how can I use a Macro or something to change the column name on all 3 different tables so that they match and can all get appended together.

I have a form with one control field that I paste a 17 digit alpha numeric value into. I have a command button that then runs a query based on the pasted value.
Is there a way to automatically change the data I paste to include the first eight characters, replace the 10th and 12th position with wild cards, and delete the remaining 6 characters ?
Example:
Copy: 1GTEM14M0WZ526688

I have a form that currently uses a "catch all" table for listing available equipment to choose from for an equipment field. I call it tblEquipment. What I want to do is to make it so when I type a name in (1 of 35) in one field of the current record, the record source for the equipment field immediately looks at a different table that has equipment available only for that name. To do this I plan on making 35 different tables with limited data originally found in tblEquipment. I would call these tblEquipment1, tblEquipment2, etc. I do not use a sub form, nor do I want to.
So my questions are:
1) can this be done
2)If it can be done, how can I do it?

Hi everyone,
I have two combo boxes on the same form bound to a table. I want the contents of the next combo box to change based on the previous combo selection e.g
cboContinent cboCountry
Africa Zambia
Africa Congo
Africa South africa
Europe England
Europe Holland
If I choose Africa in cboContinent, I want to see only Zambia, South Africa and Congo under cboCountry and if I choose Europe I want to see only England and Holland

I have five text boxes with a separate box for the date that automatically inserts when I enter something in the text box. Is it possible to have it set up to only allow me to enter information in the first box and at a later date when I enter more info in, automatically move everything down to the next box, and so fourth.
Sorry if this is in the wrong section, but I am not sure if this is something simple in the box properties, or if I need code.

I have a combo box for rooms: single, twin, double, suite, grand suite
This is found from a lookup table
In the next field on the lookup table is the cost per night for the room, how can i get the cost per night to automatically appear in a text box below the room type combo box.
I asked this the other evening and somebody said it was to do with making the table the bound source or something but i didn't understand.
An explanation would be great

Hi, I have a form set up, among other fields in the form is a Weekly update
free form field. I have another field called Historical Weekly updates. What
I want to happen is that when a user clicks in the Weekly updae field, the
text that is in there should pop down to the Historical field and have the
date of the move post next to the text in the historical field. I have no idea if this is a click action, a macro, or if it's even possible.Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I have a form (Project Form) with (Project_ID,Applicant_ID,Project_description, etc). To make it easier for the user who may not know the Applicant _ID when he/she is adding a new project for the applicant, I want to put a combo box with the Applicant Names in it, and once the Applicant Name is chosen, the Applicant ID will be filled out automatically and be saved in the Project Table.
My Approach so far was adding a combo box with two columns(Applicant ID, Applicant Name), and basically adding the following code:
Private Sub Combo36_AfterUpdate()
Me.Applicant_ID = Me.Combo36.Column(0)
End Sub
This approach works well, when I select an applicant, the Applicant ID will pop up correctly. However, This ID is not being saved in the Project Table.

I am designing a form based on specific criteria from a table. I have one table "country/region" showing: Country, Region, and then primary numeric ID. I have another table called "contacts" with more info. What I am looking to do is create two combo boxes on the form, one for country and the other for region which will pull from the "country/region" table and feed into the "contacts" table". When the user writes in the specific country, the corresponding region in the combo box next to it should update automatically.
