Control Panel Will Not Return To Maximise
Sep 10, 2006
I have the following code to maximise and hide the menu bar:
Me.Filter = "[ItemNumber] = 0 AND [Argument] = 'Predefinita' "
Me.FilterOn = True
DoCmd.Maximize
Dim i As Integer
For i = 1 To CommandBars.Count
CommandBars(i).Enabled = False
Next i
End Sub
When closing any form that has been open from the control panel the control panel will not return to a maximise but will be hopen smaller, how can I always have my control panel on maximise when I close any forms or reports!!!
Thanks
Marco

Hi - I have built a web page which holds links to Word,Excel & Access files.
I have the .doc & .xls files opening as I want but when I link to a DB file Access opens in a reduced (small)window. Is there a way to force the Access application to open maximised - before the DB file loads?
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Acc 2003.
I have a form with pop-up set to yes and docmd.maximize in the on load event.
Because this form overlays all windows on the page, I have put in a minimise application button.
This works fine, however, when selecting the db again from the taskbar, the form no longer takes up the full screen.
I've tried putting the maximise code in "Active" and "Got Focus" event but neither work.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Hi guys,
I have moved all my small databases into 1 larger database to save up on Taskbar space, but the problem is that when I use an opening form to open other forms (switchboard style) the additional forms show in the Start menu Task bar.
Is there some sort of macro that I can use to tell each form to suppress itself from the Task bar?

Or maybe even undock it? I know I can show it or not but sometimes it's in the way or not big enough. If I open it to show the full length of the names it makes the working window too small. Seems like there should be a way to move it to the bottom for example. Then you could see the full length of the table/queries/forms/etc. names while still seeing the full window of detail for the working window.

I have several queries that perform an audit on data. I want to create a form that has two buttons, multiple labels and textboxes. When the first button is pressed, it runs all queries and returns a count of the records within each query into the corresponding textbox. Then I want a a button that will clear all textboxes. I don't want to see the queries, I just want them to run in the background and the count results to be populated in the textboxes.
So for example, it would return:
Check1: 3
Check2: 6
Check3: 2
Check4: 0

I have a list of customers in a table (tblCUSTOMERS) and a list of hundreds of items in another table (tblITEMS). The relations ship between customers and items are many to many. The form i'm using needs to have a coverage panel showing what parts are associated to the customer when updating their information. Ultimately, the data will be queried by what customers associate to specific parts.
I have an array of check boxes with the different part numbers displayed, but i don't know if or how this can be queried against.how I can go about achieving this many to many relationship.

I have a search from that has an option group, text fields, and a checkbox where the users selects a variety of option that generates a query. If the query return at least on record a split form (form on top/datasheet on bottom) is displayed and the form has an Edit and Close button. If the query returns no records the form is still displayed except the buttons are not visible.
If I knew the result of the query and then made a decision whether to open the form or release control back to the search box that would be great. To open the form I am using VBA with the DoCmd.OpenForm(,,"MyQuery","criteria") command.I thought about using the DLookup command and evaluate the return value for null to be used to control the program flow.

I have a simple UDF that takes a string and returns a variant, which is an array of strings Example Input "Brick Wall" Return value would be a variant array with first element "Brick" and and second element "Wall" Now I have a table with a field of strings, and I want to make a query that returns all the results from the function, one per line.
So if my input table looks like this
[strField]
"kick the ball"
"return the pass"
my query result should looks like this
[Orig] [new]
"kick the ball" "kick"
"kick the ball" "the"
"kick the ball" "ball"
"return the pass" "return"
"return the pass" "the"
"return the pass" "pass"
Last time I had to do something like this I used VBA exclusively, with ADO objects, but I thought a query based solution would be easier.
With my current data the largest return array size my function returns is 27 elements but I wouldn't want to rely on that number being fixed.

Hi:
Using MS Access 2000.
Maybe I've been looking at the monitor for too long but... I need to have a query return data based on a date field or return all dates greater than 1/1/2001 if left blank.
criteria: [Enter date - mm/dd] Or >#1/1/2001#
When I leave it blank it gives me all dates as it's supposed to but when I type a date it does not filter by that date, I still get everything.
I also tried [Enter date - mm/dd] Or Like "*" but it behaves the same way. I know it has got to be easy but my skull may be too thick to let me see it.
Any help is appreciated.

I added a new field to one of my tables and query, but when I try to add a control for that field into my form it is not recognising it and the field isn't appearing in the sources for the form, even though the table is sourced to the form? Or am I going to have to do the usual and redo the entire form because I made a minor adjustment?

I have a form with a tab control, inside the tab control I placed an ActiveX control (Microsoft Web Browser). These are at the bottom of the form.
Everything displays fine if the entire form fit on the screen but if the form is too long and I scroll down the browser control is getting obscured by the tab control and getting chopped off (the contents are covered). It is as if the browser control is staying in space where it was and moving behind the tab control as I scroll.
This problem does not occur if I place the browser control directly on the form. Also I note that the browser control is sitting correctly within the tab control.
I have been through all the settings and properties of both controls and haven't been able to fix it. I searched all over the web but no one has previously stumbled across this one by the look of it.
See the attached image ...

I have table that I had to add a new field to which we update with a form. I tried to add a control for the new field but the field does not show up in the list for the control source. I am trying to add a list box to the form with a blank and 5 options.
I have attached screen shots of the table design and the form. The table has the field in datasheet view and I have manually entered a few entries in it but it still will not show in the control source for the form control. The top section of the form is where we enter and select the data for the new records. The bottom section (circled in red) autofills the matching record, from separate tables, for updating with the new entries.
I have added form controls for modified fields in the past so I am confused about why this is happening.

OK. I have searched and searched and every thread dances around similar situations but none seem to address this particular one. I am trying to make a control on a sub form visible/not visible depending on the condition of a control on a main form. The catch is that the control I'm trying to change the state of is on a subform located in a tab control. I've tried a thousand combinations and none seem to work. How do I reference the control on the subform in a tab control?
Main Form: frmMemberMain
Tab Control: TabCtl12
Tab Control Page: 2
Subform: frmChildren
Control on subform: txtRelationship
Can someone please help before my brain explodes!! Thanks!

Hi,
I have reviewed the posts for 'Control Validation' and dowloaded the sample database kindly posted by ansentry.
In the PaymentAmount example, a name has to be entered in the first control before an amount is enterered in the second control. If the controls and tab order are reversed, the validation doesn't work.
I have a form where the 1st Control needs validating before moving on. The code below doesn't work.
Private Sub Form_BeforeUpdate(Cancel As Integer)
If IsNull(Me.Employee_No) Then
MsgBox "Employee No Required", vbCritical, "Data required "
Cancel = True
Me.Employee_No.SetFocus
Exit Sub
End If
End Sub
Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi,
In a query, I am using the following code to return the average length of each tenancy. This works fine unless the length is 0. If so, it only brings back 'blank'. How can I change this code to return a 0 value?
Tenure Length AVG: IIf([Average Tenure Length]>0,Format([Average Tenure Length],"Fixed",Format(0,"Fixed")))
Thanks in advance

I am creating a database for a hyperthetical car hire company. I have created three tables, customer table, car table and bookng table. The customer table is linked to the booking table using a Customer ID (autonumber). The car table is linked to the booking table using NumberPlate. The primary key for the booking table is Booking ID.
The cars are catagorised in different groups e.g. hatchback, sports car etc. The customer will choose a car type which is entered into the booking table. They will also enter the dates for which they want to hire their car.
I want my database to take these dates and the type of car, search through the car table and return a list of cars of that type which are availiable on these dates.
Can this be done???
