I have two tables that I want to append to each other. But in one of them the date column has the yyyymmdd format and in the other it is a serial date number. How can I make them consistent by either converting yyyymmdd to date number or by converting the date number to yyyymmdd?
I'm in the process of streamlining the process to maintain our various access reports and queries.
My company's accounting software stores all record dates in Gregorian Serial format (don't ask me why). Currently for our reports we have a local hard-coded table that is manually updated periodically with dates in MM/DD/YYYY format and the coresponding Gregorian serial date number. To go from date to serial is a fairly straightforward access function of:
(Datediff('d','1/1/2000',[Date to convert])+730120)
For example if [Date to convert] was 2/7/2006 the output would be 732349. That's all well and good, however I am in need of a query I can build that will on the fly generate a list from say 1/1/1997 through 1 year after day being run just to be safe with two columns, one with date and one with the serial date equivelant so I can link to the accounting tables for date restrictions.
This way I just have to have the equation in one query instead of a hard coded table or do the calculation in every form or query that needs to look up these tables.
Unfortuantely I've been staring at accounting data (and am not an accountant) way too long and my brain is fried, suggestions?
I have a table called "OrderDetails" with following fields:
Num OrderID (Primary key) Product Quantity Price
I want to create a data entry subform that can used to enter order details in this table such that, for a given OrderID, the Num field is automatically set to previous number + 1. For example, for OrderID = 12, if there are 4 products that need to be entered, the 4 records should automatically take 1 , 2, 3, 4.
Is any body know how to retrieve the manufacturer's hard disk serial No.? I want to use it in my access application to avoid piracy. At present I am useing a code which gives me Volume serial No., which got changed when ever my user format his hard drive. Instead of HDD firmware serial, code for retrieval of any other permanent No. like mother board or CPU firmware serial can help me to solve my problem
Everything is going well, when i make a transc ,transcid generated
i,e 1,2,3,to 47,48,49,50 and so on. In this case there are minimum 50 transaction on daily bases,
Here i have an idea that daily after 11.59pm, I mean after changing date, when I make a transaction, transaction id or sequence no start from 1, and my last day data will also remain safe .
This is what I am trying to accomplish I need to be able to create a serial number which automatically resets every day so I may use it to easily know how many records were created per day, without running a report.
I am working in ms access database form. I have a form with detail section. In detail section i would like to make sr.no field auto increase each time new quotation is created. Using AutoNumber didn't work because because it doesn't start the serial number from 1 for each new quotation.
In my Query I have a Date Received field and a Date Approved field.
I would like to calculate the number of work days, which excludes weekends, between Date Received and Data Approved fields.
It would be more desirable to calculate the number of work days, excluding weekends and governmnet obsereved holidays.. but I don't know if that can be done... If not I can stick with the number of work days excluding weekends.
How would I go about doing this? I would need to add a new column to my query?
What would I put for the field and criteria? What kind of expression do I use?
I am attempting to modify some code that is used for reading content in an Outlook mail and need to catch and move the email if certain content is duplicated in the email.
The code reads the email that is in the attached image format:
As seen, this email contains 2 devices, but the Serial No in both is duplicated.
In the code, I need to capture this and rather than reading the contents, I need to just move this email to a separate "Manual" folder to be dealt with separately, so not to write the information to the database.
The current code is as follows:
Option Explicit Private ns As Outlook.Namespace Private sEmailAddress As String Private sPerson As String Private dReceived As Date
I am trying to construct a system in access where I can have a user type in a part number, revision of a part, job number, serial number quantity, and generate a serial number based on the quantity that they need.
I am getting hung up on even how to construct the tables effectively to accomplish this, let alone the forms, queries, etc.
The numbers have to be in the following form. XXXX-XXXX
For an example:
I have part ABC and I need 5 serial numbers.
I need to be able to create a batch of serial numbers automagically that reads like:
9001-0001 9001-0002 9001-0003 9001-0004 9001-0005
Then for the next part XYZ I need 3 serial numbers. It would be constructed like this:
9002-0001 9002-0002 9002-0003
With the goal of eventually being able to search a part number and revision, or a job number and return all serial numbers assigned to that.
I'm having an issue with the database being read only and a type mismatch due to OpenRecordset. I know this database use to work when it when it was just
CurrentSerNum = RecSet(0) +1 was doing the incrementing.
I need the database to increment in a different way now.
Q=manufacture location 1st number is new=0 or used=1 2nd and third number =82 4th is single digit year aka 2015 = 5 6 and 7th are work week aka 25 for this week 8,9,10 are incremental numbers for the units made that workweek, so 001,002,003. Then week 26 starts the increment starts back at 001.
Code: Private Sub MakeThoseProducts_Click() On Error GoTo Err_MakeThoseProducts_Click Dim NumericSerial As Double Dim WorkWeek As String Dim WorkYear As String Dim WorkWeekNumber As Integer Dim WorkYearNumber As Integer Dim Location As String
Using MS Access 2010 I'm attempting to put together a simple database mainly tracking dates and availability. That said I'm just not smart enough to figure out why I cant get one date in a form to display as a serial date.
Example date picker included in Access 2010 places the date of 3/20/2013 in one field and I want another field to look at that and show the serial date ie.. 20130320190912. I've achieved this in Excel somehow long ago.
I am importing a table from a Clarion TPS database which stores several types of data in a "IDVAL" field. The field next to it, "LBLNUM" defines what the data type is. This creates a problem, as IDVAL is a text field, which means all data stored in it (no matter what the type) is then stored as text. This includes date fields. Since they are stored as text, they end up as 5 digit serial dates, similar to how excel handles dates (with each day after 1/1/1900 being +1).
So I have a union query which derives all the values stored in IDVAL for each unique record. My query which creates my export combines this data with several calculated fields to create my final export.
Everything looks great on this final export except for my date fields, which are all 5 digit numbers (like 77945).
I have been searching for a date function that will format this back to a standard date, however I have yet to find anything that works. Is there no way to format a 5 digit serial date back to a standard date within access by using a function? Every answer I find says to redefine the table to a date field, however I don't have this option since the field in question stores a lot more than just dates.
i'm importaing a table through a mysqlserver, it contains a field (call_time) and its a long integer, i suppose it's an unix date format that can be converted
into DD:MM:YYYY HH:MM format, only problem is i cant find a way to do it on access i've tried creating a query with all the fields and adding my one fields with commands such as valdate([call_time]) but it dosen't seem to work.
I have creadted a form with a combo box that has 3 dates in it: February 1, 2005, September 1, 2004 and June 4, 2004.
Is there a way to display in another field on the form(A text field) when one of these dates is selected from the combo box, a text field returns "DATED ON THIS FIRST DAY OF FEBRUARY TWO THOUSAND FIVE"?
I reckon this is a vb issue and any help is appreciated.
I am trying to write some VBA to convert a date into a week number.
My work colleagues do not not what system is used to define the week numbers. So I have gone through all their records for a few years and deciphered this pattern:
I need the code to define that there are 52 weeks in a year. The last sunday of Dec is the beginning of Week 1 for the following year. Except when it is a leap year where Week 53 exists. otherwise it only goes up to week 52.
Start day for the week is Sunday. End day is the Saturday.
Some examples to check against:
22nd December 2013 = Week 52 2013
29th December 2013 = Week 1 for 2014 ----
21st December 2014 = Week 52 for 2014
28th December 2014 = Week 1 for 2015 ----
20th December 2015 = Week 52 for 2015
27th December 2015 = Week 1 for 2016 ----
25th December 2016 = Week 53 for 2016
1st Jan 2017 = Week 1 for 2017 -----
Tried various methods already
iso 8601, wrong week start day
intWeek = DatePart("ww", datDate, vbSunday, vbFirstFourDays) Was right for 2013 but wrong for later dates.
- Assets - Shifts - Machine Offline Date - Machine Offline Time - Machine Online Date - Machine Online Time
Now I have 82 assets in the factory and 20% of those machines run 3 shifts. Each shift is 8 hrs. What I have already done is allocate shifts per asset e.g. when I pick Asset (a) in the Asset combo box, in the shift box it will automatically generate 2 or 3 dependant on what I have set.
If an asset runs for 2 shifts, it would mean that, that asset is operational/running from 0700 - 2300 or 7:00am - 11:PM also if an asset runs for 3 shifts it would mean that, that asset is operational/running from 0700 - 0700 or 7:00AM - 7:00AM
Scenario A: Machine (a) breaks down at 1700/5:00PM on the 10/7/15 and was back online at 12:30 on 11/7/15, This machine runs for 3 shifts which would mean in the "Breakdown Downtime" the result should be 19.5 hrs
Scenario B: Machine (b) breaks down at 1900/7:00PM on the 10/7/15 and was back online at 10:00AM on 12/7/15, this machine runs for 2 shifts which would mean in the "Breakdown Downtime" the result would be 23 hrs.
I would like to make this an automatic calculation, Is this possible?
I have a text field like, 11242010, and I need to be able to convert it into 3 int fields, day, month, year. I am trying to do this in a query and have create the following three;
DateD: IIf([DATE] Is Not Null,(CInt(Left(Right([DATE],6),2)))) DateM: IIf([DATE] Is Not Null,(CInt(Left([DATE],2)))) DateY: IIf([DATE] Is Not Null,(CInt(Right([DATE],4)))) Time: IIf([TIME] Is Not Null,[TIME])
When I have a value of Null, i keep getting #Error, I think when it's null.
My table has many records for each month. I am creating a report that will display only the records in one month of a year. I have been able to create a form that gives the user the choice of the Month and Year for which to create the report. The code I am using to create the combo box is:
Code: SELECT DISTINCT Month([QTDate]) AS MoNum, Format([QTDate],"mmmm yyyy") AS MoName FROM MainTBL ORDER BY Month([QTDate]);
What I need to do now is create the query for the report that displays all records for the chosen month and year. If I simply reference the combo box, all it shows is mmmm yyyy and the days are missing so the query doesn't work. What do I need to do to create the query so it displays all days within the month and date selected?
Hi there. I'm just jumping into Access and have the following question. In my Purchase Order Table, I have a date field calcualated as text, i.e. "01/12/04". I need to convert this to a date format in my queries so I can do calculations, i.e. 01/12/04 - 01/05/04 = 7 days. Can someone help me with how to convert this text date to a date format. Sorry if this is an easy question. - AJS
Hi, Can anybody help me ? I've a case where ms access displays oracle's numeric field as text where msaccess is linked to oracle. The possible reason could be when we don't specify precision in declaring the filed in oracle table, default precision is 38 which ms access cannot hold. So, it(driver) converts this to text field. But this is with MSORCL32.dll(microsoft driver for oracle). Is there any other possible reason that will result this behavior?
The following are the configuration details: 1.Oracle 9i on Unix server. 2.MSAccess on Windows XP. MSAccess holds linked data of Oracle server.
Clng([text field]) to convert a text field into a number so that I can link in a query. Because it is an informix database, I cannot change the underlying table format.
When I run the query, the data is showing "Error".
I tried changing the other table to text and linking but it doesn't seem to link properly because the query doesn't work.
I have an option box 1=Yes, 2=Np 3=Unknown. the result is stored in a field in my table. When i run a query I pull up the numbers 1, 2 or 3 but to put in a report I actually want the written answers. How do i convert them back?
I have a text field I need to convert to numbers. There are both empty and non empty fields. I then need to show the numbers like this "1.234" and a "*" in the empty fields.
I have tried to convert the fields with Cint, but I get an #Error in the empty fields.
