I have a field in a form which displays the Sum of 10 values from other textboxes. I want to display the values of that calaculated field in a report and somehow I am stuck. I am running the report based on a query.
How would I get those field calculation values to display in a report?
I have been trying to figure out why my subreport is only showing sales price for only one of the records on my subform. Everything else works as it should, but it only displays the sales price for the record which is active on the subform.Attached is the database with the subreport called rptProposalItems with the field 'Sales Price' which is experiencing the issue.
I am trying to get calculated fields in my report to work but zero values in the data are throwing up #Div/0! and #Error! and #Num!
The main data fields I am trying to work with are: VehicleReading PreviousReading VehicleLitres
My aim is to track mileage and consumption for a fleet of vehicles and show daily and weekly averages in mileage and consumption and then to flag 20% increase in consumption.
I have a calculated field in my report named Kilometers, = [VehicleReading]-[PreviousReading]
And also a calculated field named Consumption, =[Kilometers]/[VehicleLitres]
My sum and average calculation fields in the group footers are only working where there are values above zero in the Kilometer and VehicleLitres and Consumption fields.
In reality there are some days where there has been no travel, so some records will have a zero for the Kilometers field and there are also days when there has been no refueling so there is a zero for the VehicleLitres field.
I have tried using the expression builder to create an IIf function but to no avail. I have tried copying the syntax suggested by the Expression builder:
«Expr» IIf («expr». «truepart». «falsepart»)
However I keep getting error messages and despite troubleshooting and looking on the internet I can't seem to find a solution to this.
i have a subform which contains a lot of calculated values. fields which calculate values are located both in master form and subform. i use those calculated values in various reports where i have to insert formulas again. so i have decided to insert calculated values in table directly. i can use update query but i am unsure how to trigger it; and how to keep fields updated everytime a value is changed.
main form fields = [gsm] , [rate]
sub form fields = [pages], [qty], [gsm]*[rate]*[pages]*[qty]
I have a table that stores information for multiple behavioral surveys (numerical values). My goal is to add the proper fields that compose total scores value for each respective survey (do a summation of scores). Now, under design view for my table, I see that I can add a calculated field. When I create this calculated field, I can use the Expression Builder to do a sum of the proper fields (the fields that compose a total score for a survey). The only problem that I'm encountering is that if a field that is part of a survey is missing information, the summation disregards the rest of the values for that survey.
How can I account for these missing values so that, if 1 out of my 9 fields have information, I will still get a summation score for the 9 fields? I want to be able to do this without having to change the value of the missing field to 0.
In SPSS I can easily do this by computing a variable and using a code like this: SUM.2(field1, field2, field3, etc.)
Hi. Back again with a badly designed number of tables that I inherited. Anyway...
I have 20 tables each with an ID field and a dozen-or-so text fields. - (I planned on using a master report with sub-reports, but perhaps I am ahead of myself here.)
I need the user to enter the ID and a value which would only appear in one of the dozen+ fields for that record, in that table. I set up queries with parameters for the ID and the desired text value. However, when run, I get the correct client record, but also all of the fields for that record... Not only the field with the desired value.
Is there a 'simple' way to do this knowing ho wmany possible fields froma ll of the tavbles would have to be searched? And not all tables have the same field names!
I have a report based on a query. There is a field "comments" that is a memo type however on the report it does not display all of the text. I have the property "Can Grow" set to "yes" however it still only shows partial text. Any ideas? thanks in advance!
I have a database which gathers and stores the odometer readings of our company vehicles every month. I have built a simple report with columns for Vehicle Number, Employee Number, Employee Name, Month, and Odometer Reading. My boss wants a field for each employee which compares the records for the last two months and displays the difference (i.e. the number of kilometers travelled in that month) /
I am "OK" when it comes to figuring out a formula in Excel, but Access is much different for me. I am looking to set up a calculated field in a report.
The result is find the Client-to-Staff ratio but there are two possible conditions:
I have a report that has four fields: Item, Qty, Price and TotalPrice for each line in the detail section. Total Price is calculated by multiplying Qty x Price. The text box name that holds the Total Price for each line is txt_TotalPrice. I want to have a Grand Total in the report footer. I placed a text box in the footer with the following expression: =sum([txt_TotalPrice]). When I run the report Access prompts me for the parameter value of txt_TotalPrice. I've been trying to solve this for quite a while now - but I'm totally baffled.
I have a report and I am trying to Round Up the calculated field SumOfAccrual Amount to 2 decimal places. I am attaching a screenshot of my report and output.
I have a report with a calculated field. This calculated field needs to pull the value or total from a field in another report. I think the formula is : =([AssmntC].Reports!totalreqamnt4) but I'm getting ?Name as the result. The report is AssmntB where I need to have the value copied. The original report is AssmntC and the field is totalreqamnt4 where the value is originally calculated. totalreqmant4 is also a calculated field which sums fields from a query.
Basically i have a form where i get info from multiple tables. On the main form itself i have 3 calculated fields for hours where i add all the hours i choose (from a subform) onto the main form.
My issue is i can create a query to come up with all the fields for my report, but how do i get the calculated fields on my main form on the report? Is there a way to print the calculated fields on the main form to a report? or do i have to do the same calculations on the report itself?
I have a form which works good enough. In this form, there is a text box that counts and calculates records from a subform. The name of this text box is "text1" ...
I'm creating a report to check for over- or under-stocked items. The report is working fine, gets all the records etc. except that it thinks that the OnHand field from my inventory query is text or something, at any rate not a number. I have successfully set the format of the field in the query to General Number, but that doesn't seem to have worked. Here's the SQL for the report:
Code: SELECT DISTINCT Signs.SignCode, Signs.SignDescr, Size2.XYdim, qryOnHand.OnHand, Bins.Rack, Bins.Level, Bins.BinNum FROM (Size2 INNER JOIN (Signs INNER JOIN (Items INNER JOIN qryOnHand ON Items.[ItemsID] = qryOnHand.[ItemsID]) ON Signs.[SignID] = Items.[SignID]) ON Size2.[SizeID] = Items.[SizeID]) INNER JOIN (Bins INNER JOIN InventoryDetail ON Bins.[BinID] = InventoryDetail.[BinID]) ON Items.[ItemsID] = InventoryDetail.[ItemsID] WHERE (((qryOnHand.OnHand)<=[Check for signs with fewer than:]));
I have a form with a textbox and I want to fill that text box with the calculations from values of other text boxes. However when I put the equation = Sum (box1 + box2 + box3) into the textbox's control source I don't get any results even though box1, box2 and box3 have values in there. I also need the result to be saved in a field on my table, but I got no idea how to do it.
I have what is probably a stupid question but I've been struggling with this one for a while. I have an ordering database which has an Orders table (containing Order ID, Date, Supplier etc) and an Order Line table within which I have a combo box for Product name, supplier, price, VAT rate, Line price etc. At the moment, I have the order line table as a subform within the Order form (run from the Orders table). The problem I'm having is the subtotal and total fields. At the moment these are in the Order Line table as I cannot figure out how to get these in the Orders table. In summary, can I make a calculated field in one table that calculates values from another table (linked by Order ID)?
I have created a report using a query. Further to this, I have added some fields from the query into the report which calculates the sum of records and the count of records.
My problem here is, using the chart wizard, I am only able to select the fields existing in a 'Table' or a 'Query'.
Can anywone help me to create a Bar chart / Pie chart using the fields in the report?
On this form, there is a text box for Quantity...At the end of the form, there will be a button that when pressed:The current record the data on the form is entered for is saved,A report is printed on a specific printer,I do not want the report to actual display,The number of copies it prints should be equal to what the quantity field indicates.I do have the report already created and the Quantity field is on the report (just not visible).Once this all happens, it should return the user to the form, that is blank, waiting for a new record entry.
Im trying to create a database for a stock control system. I have a slight problem, the stock is in two places. So what i have to do is put in the values of stock in each place and then display the value of those two added up in the table. What is the best way to be able to do this?
I'm trying to get my query to display only the minimum value within my query results. I have the following fields, CustomerID, OrderID, ProductID, WarehouseID, Freight Cost.
My current query will return results that show me the locations and freight cost of each product to my customers. My intention is for the query to only return records that has the lowest freight cost as there may be several warehouses with identical products but with varying freight costs due to location to customer.
I've tried to apply the MIN function on Freight Cost but it will only sort the records in ascending order instead of only displaying the record with lowest frieght cost.
As part of the report I'd like to have a table that would list all different values in column in column A and the number of times they appear in the table in column B.I have a bit of a hard time how to populate the table the easiest way.I have all the values in a separate source table, so first column is easier. but do i have to write the dcount statement for each row for second column?Could I display results of query as subquery in report. If you have a bunch of textboxes with increasing names like NameBox1... for for/next loops in reports... is there an easy way to assign those names?
Hi. I am using Expression Builder to total 3 columns for a query.
Total: [BaseTotal]+[ClickTotal]+[Adj Total]
The [Adj Total] is sometimes empty, and when this happens, Total is empty even though there are values for [BaseTotal] & [ClickTotal]. How can I make the Total show up regardless of whether any of the three items used to calculate it are Null?
I have a form that functions as information display/update for a table. It also needs to display a list of relevant codes from another table. The codes in the second table have an ID that will match an ID field on the main table. However when I do this I either get every code in the code table, or nothing.
Here is the SQL that I'm trying to use:
SELECT table_code_lookup.code_text, table_codes.code_extra, table_codes.alum_id, table_codes.ID FROM (table_code_lookup INNER JOIN table_codes ON table_code_lookup.code_id=table_codes.code_num) INNER JOIN table_alumni ON table_codes.alum_id=table_alumni.ID WHERE (((table_codes.alum_id)=me.id));
However anything I can think of putting for me.id doesn't work. I've written a sub that will modify the query and insert the correct ID num, but I can't figure out how to get it to run when I change records with the record selector.
I have the nagging feeling that I'm missing something totally simple, but can't figure out what it is, where am I going wrong?
