The problem that I have is that when I add a new field to my form at runtime I get the following error Runtime Error '2424' The expression you entered has a field, control, or property that Microsoft Access can't find.
This error appears when I try to update any field. I posted this before and was informed that access has a field counter limit up to 750 on a form, this includes fields which were deleted or hidden. I dont deliberately add and remove fields, but this is the main form in my database so it is not unbelieveable that this may be at the limit and this is why the error is occurring. Does anyone know how to reset this?, or what I should do to get around this.
In my form (source tblJobs) i input a contract number from tblContracts. but i would also like it to show the contract address when the contract number is entered. Both fields belong to tblContracts but i only wish to enter the contract number, the address will just be used as a reference as it isnt something i would have to enter again.
So for example
112 - Main Road
If i enter 122 in my ContractNo field i would like it to show the contract address for that specific contract.
Hi, in the following sql I need to count the "Yes's" in the field "DOT Recordable?" In the table the data is stored in check boxes. When I choose "View - Totals" and change the "Group By" to "Count" and run the query, it just counts the records. Help!
SELECT DISTINCTROW root_driver.dr_ssno, root_driver.dr_birth_dt, root_driver.dr_hire_dt, root_driver.dr_term_dt, TblMasterClaimsRecord.[DOT Recordable?] FROM TblMasterClaimsRecord RIGHT JOIN root_driver ON TblMasterClaimsRecord.[Driver Number] = root_driver.dr_no WHERE (((root_driver.dr_term_dt) Between #4/23/2006# And #4/29/2006#));
I am trying to add a feature to my database that counts the number of times that the main menu is opened (I modified this form to always stay open in the background in order to get an accurate count) just out of curiosity. Right now I have a table called "Count Table" with a field called "Counter" on it. This table acts as the control source on my main menu. The main menu also has a text box called "Page Counter". The "On Open" code looks as follows:
[Page Counter] = [Counter] + 1 'This line seems to work, page counter displays 1 with counter set at 0 [Counter] = [Page Count]
'This is where I run into trouble. The database does not want to overwrite the Counter value in the Count Table.I tried doing a similar setup as shown above using the Dmax function but had the same outcome.
Hello everyone, new member here. I am in charge of a student sign in sign out database at the college where I work. This database has two forms and one table. What I would like to do is include a text box on the first form, which is the sign in form that will display a running total of the students that are signed in. This text box should count 1, 2, 3 etc. each time a student clicks the sign in button. Thanks for the help
I have a custom record counter on a form using the below code:
Private Sub Form_Current() If Me.NewRecord Then Me.lblRecordCounter.Caption = _ "Record " & Me.CurrentRecord & " of " & Me.Recordset.RecordCount + 1 Else Me.lblRecordCounter.Caption = _ "Record " & Me.CurrentRecord & " of " & Me.Recordset.RecordCount End If End Sub
I think at some stage the form was saved with a filter on and this may be causing the issue. The problem I have is:
There are 1749 records. Everytime I open the form the custom record counter displays "Record 1 of 501". The built in record counter shows 1 of 1749. The moment I hit the next record arrow the custom record counter displays "2 of 1749" and if I go back again it displays "1 of 1749.".
I know it's a filter causing the problem because I have a macro that does a clear search. As soon as I hit the clear search the custom counter goes back to "1 of 501" again (even though the built in one stays at 1 of 1749).
I'm working on a MS Access database, there's one table linked from a ODBC database.
In the ACESS table, I defined 2 fields,A and B, each of them maps the field in the ODBC table. A field C in the ODBC database can return a unique value with both the info. A and B.
We want the C value can be automatically show up after we input the A. B value in a MS ACCESS form.
It sounds very easy. and if we use asp it should be easy. However, I just get stucked here. Whether I can do it in MS ACCESS.
I have a Customer table that has a field "PostalCode" that is numerical an is connected to a field called PostalID in a table called PostalCode and has the actual postal code stored in a field call Pcode.
I have everything working ok as far as displaying the correct Pcode on the various forms. eg: is the PostalID is 10, I want the form to display the Pcode of 2000.
I can't figure out how to display the Pcode in a report.....
want to display on a form the totals of one filed/columm in one of the tables the form is based on.I added a text box to the table and in proporties----data----control source--opened expression builder, selecedt my table under expression elements then under catagoroes selected the field - and from there I am lost as under expression values I see nothing I can relate to Sumtried to input an expression for the sum of all currency values in one columm.
I have an image within the attachment field on a table.The particular table is not linked with the data within the report.I tried to use DLookup but found it only showed the picture name i.e. signature.png..How can I display an image (in fact the only image) in the attachement field on another table within the report?
I'm working on an existing 2010 database that has a table that stores PDF's in an OLE field. The boss wants to be able to see the PDF on a form along with the other fields in the database. He doesn't want the pdf to open up in a separate window in Adobe PDF viewer. He doesn't want to have to switch between 2 windows because he's comparing data from the other fields in the record to what's on the PDF. He doesn't have dual monitors and doesn't want that either.
when I put the PDF field on a form all I get is an ICON that has to be double clicked on to open but I need it to display the pdf or at leas part of the PDF so he can scroll down to view the whole pdf. I thought about using a subform or tabs and putting a web browser control to display the pdf. I've seen examples of how to set a web browser control URL when the pdf is in an attachment field but I haven't been able to find any examples of how to view the pdf in a web browser control or any code to actually show the pdf on the form from an OLE field.
I know storing the PDF in an attachment field is the best way to do this and I've let the boss know. My only task is to display it on a form and not to redesign the database.
I have a form with a memo field which is used by users to input transctiptions of Customer Contacts but the form is getting busy and the box now only 2.77 wide X 0.683 High.
this makes it impossible to read on the form even as a text box with scrolling..how to add a mouse over on it so that it fires up a large text/meg style box to display the contents?
I am teaching myself Access 2007. I have a successfully imported my database to a table, and now I want to design Forms and Reports. It seems Access wants to basically display the data in either one of two formats, either Columnar, or Tabular. One Form displays the data in columns, with one field per line, and the other displays the data in rows, with one whole record per line. I need a Form (and Report) which will display more than one field per line, and use more than one line. For example, some lines will have 2 or 3 fields, then the next line may have only 1 or 2 fields. Following is a print-out of a record from my existing database (stored in a comma delineated .txt file and read and printed by a program written in DOS, QBasic): . 461-1036 :c: Assignment of O&GL Feb 28, 2008 Filed: Mar 20, 2008 Grantor(s): Plains Exploration & Production Company; Plains Resources Inc.; Pogo Producing Company LLC; Pogo Panhandle 2004 LP; Latigo Investments LLC; Latigo Gas Services LP; Latigo Petroleum Inc.; Latigo Petroleum Texas LP Grantee(s): Oxy USA Inc. Comment: Assigns 50% of Assignors' interest; CORRECTION ASSIGNMENT at 466-493 deleting certain properties from the description
[The attached .pdf file shows a better view of the print-out]This data is abstracted version of a document recorded in the public record in a courthouse. On the first line there are 3 fields:
1) the Volume-page, 2) A notation that we have a copy of the document, and 3) the title of the document.
On the 2nd line there are 2 fields:
1) the date of the document and 2) the date the document was filed in the courthouse.
The next 3 fields are displayed one at a time in columns. How I can get Access 2007 to display like this?
I know that Access can display images, I have seen it done. I am using Access 2013. I am trying to display a photo in a form field. In the underlying table I have tried using attachment and OLE Object data types and I couldn't get the picture to display with either.
I have a form where a user enters a bunch of client info into a database. I also have a form that I want to use if a user wants to view the table. What control do I use to display the data? I want it to be in tabular form so they can browse the list.
In short can I display a field on a form that is not in the forms field list without using a sub-form? I am trying to show a value from a query on this form. I tried this in the control source: [qry_op500_entry_delta]![countofphone model] I get an error stating that this is not in my field list for the form. If the answer is No or if needed I can give more information on what I am trying to do.
My intentions are to get my combo box to display data into a field in my form, when it is changed/selection is made. So far my form has the following:
Combobox: CBOCharacters Field: CharacterGender
Both of these are in the same table; tbl_Characters. The data type for CBOCharacters is a number and its called CharacterID in the table.
So far I have created this piece of code:
Private Sub CBOCharacters_AfterUpdate() Me.CharacterGender = DLookup("CharacterGender", "qry_StillNeeded", "[CharacterID]= " & Me.CBOCharacters) End Sub
When I run this event procedure i get an error:
Runtime error '2471'
The expression you entered as a query parameter produced this error '[CharacterID]'
I have created a form with 3 subforms on. i was just wondering is it possible to display/ hide these subforms based on a Yes/No field in the form. as the subforms would only be valid if the field is ticked as yes.
