In a query I grouped DATE by month Date:Format([Date],"yyyy mmm") to calculate visits in each month. My problem is: How to create dialog where user can enter date based only on YEAR and MONTH and enter in this dialog start_date and end_date?

I have a table with a column for 'birthdays' The format is mm/dd, and a form for the users to put in their birthday.
When you look at the table, it may look like 05/12. But if you click on the cell it's shows it as 05/12/2007.
The problem I'm running into, I have a Data Access Page that displays all the birthdays grouped by month. But for some reason all the entries from 2006 are grouped by month, but then all the entries we've made in 2007 are grouped together by themselves.
so we have
(all the entries we made in 2006)
June
July
etc
but then at the end of the list
we have again
June
July
etc (these are the ones we entered in 2007)
Is there a way to store a date as only mm/dd?
Or is there a way to make the DAP group these by month, and ignore the year?

Can anyone tell me how to group the results of a query by month in a date field?
MonthName(DatePart("m",[Date])) ... this gives me the month-name but I cannot order the results. I'd like smth like 01 (for Jan), 02 (for Feb) ect.
so from a date I need to get only the month.

I need to calculate the next date[Due Date] in 6 months, which is simple
[Patient's file].[Last Appointment Date]+180 as [Due Date]
and I have to group the Due Date by the next month. Lets say the due date is 08/25/07, so it has to be grouped as September group at the top or the list. It should be displayed as "September, 2007"
How should I assing let say 08/01/07 - 08/31/07 dates to September groups. I mean the statement should be universal for any day and any month of the year.

But it not working and have warning box with "you tried to execute a query that does not include the specified expression 'ReportTbl.lot_date' as part of an aggregate function"

and when I try to GROUP BY ReportTbl.lot_date it work but the result does not meet the requirements.
my database was working fine until a new month was added in the attendance now each staff member has about 20 records when they should only have two. if i remove the second month it corrects its self but i can't do that permanently also i have office 2010 but the office has 2003 so i saved it to 2002-2003 file format and it was working fine up until today when it has started to give and error message Which Reads: Your Microsoft Office Access database or project contains a missing or broken reference to the file 'ACEDAO.DLL' version 12.0

I posted this about a month ago, but at that time I was running myself ragged and through too many problems at once. I stepped back and made some good progess. I put this in the General forum because it could encompass VBA, queries, and reports
I have a main report (Percentage Report) that has 4 subreports in it. Each subreport is based on a query that's run from three other queries. Its a neatly tangled mess, but it works fine.
The queries all count and calculate percentages for a pass rate of inspections on maintenance. There's an over-all/basic percentage that simply totals everything and divides for a percentage. There's also a "maintenance" percentage that only takes into account inspections done on maintenance (as opposed to various programs and processes.) Those both work fine for any given time period.
The third (and final) percentage deducts 0.5 points for each of a specific list of inspections (safety and other violations.) This works fine so long as you're only looking at a month's worth of data. The problem comes when you want to view any time period larger than that (quarter, semi-annual, annual.)
Basically, you end up subtracting a sum from an average and you end up w/ totally inaccurate numbers. I just can't quite figure out how to effectively either group by month or how to average the deductions based on the months covered.
I just finished completing this whole thing, and I'm pretty much done for tonight. Any help would be great.

I am trying to make a query that counts the orders on a day of an specific month selected from a form.
The problem is that i want to show a chart with de 31 days of the month, even if in those days there are no orders.
Any way of making a query that adds the days with no records with a count value of 0?

I'm having a hard time getting the output below from a query and was wondering if anyone would be able to reproduce this. Basically I'm trying to retrieve products that have more than 5 sales on a specific date and the retailers they sold at. I have the following simplified table.
Table name: SALES
PRODUCT RETAILER SALESDATE

I am trying to find which products had more than two sales on the same date, and retrieve the product name, the retailer and the sales

I've been able to only get the first two fields successfully by using
SELECT PRODUCT, SALESDATE
FROM SALES
GROUP BY SALESDATE, PRODUCT
HAVING (Count(PRODUCT)>=2);
MY problem is getting the retailers to appear also. Any help would be appreciated.
Can someone tell me how to get year to date totals, month to date totals, week to dates in a query? I need to get all three for three different fields.
I was not able to get the totals with the formulas given. I received the totals for each day instead. Are there any other suggestions? I am trying to different formulas, but they are not working either. I did try doing different queries with the formulas to see if that would work.
Using access 2010; i have a form that includes a date field. Is there a way to force the user to only choose a month end date? When the user clicks the date from the popup, they may use 9/1/2013 when the mgr. want them to use only 8/31/2013. I am thinking validation field to put a msg but want to be able to force it not the option.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am creating a repayment schedule (as a report) and I want to display a series of fields as a column which return (show) a date one month after the date in the field above.
The first repayment date field (Line 1) will show a date one month after the loan was paid out. the Next field below will show the date one month later.
I can't simply insert the "Date + 30" because that would get out of since over the year. If the loan was issued on say the 15th of January, I need the first field to display 15th February and the next would be .... 15th March.... Yes - You've got it!
Now I could do that in Excel, but I don't know how to get Access to do it.
I've two fields to work with:

[DischDate]
If i was explaining it, it would be as follows:
If [DischDate] Is in the next month after [Date of Device] then Y else N.
to add for example if the [Date of Device] is April 2015, and the [DischDate] is also April then i'd expect a N answer
to add for example if the [Date of Device] is April 2015, and the [DischDate] is May then i'd expect a Y answer
I need a query to look between two dates. The first date needs to be the first of the month of date given in [forms]![frmflash]![enddate] and the last date needs to be [forms]![frmflash]![enddate]. How can I make a between statement that looks between these two dates?

I have a column in a query set up as:
DateFormula: Month([Test Date])
Table and Sort are left blank
Criteria is Month(Date())
I was expecting to get records from the current month (Jan 2007).
What I'm actually getting are records from ANY January (2004, or 2006 etc).
Any idea what I need to do differently to get only current month records?

Hello - I have a database which keeps track of the projects we do. As we complete the projects we change the status to complete and list a completion date. I now need to create a query that will show me all the projects complete in the current month. I tried using >=DateAdd("m",-1,Date()) but it gives me all the projects completed within the last 30 days. So if it is Feb 11 I only want to see projects completed in Feb not projects completed Jan 28.

How do I get just 41 records, each site, plus just the most recent event for that site?
Table 1, Sites (41 Records)
Table 2, Event (42 Records, 1 event for 40 sites, plus 2 events for 1 of the sites)
Totals Query 1, Group on SiteID from Sites, Select Max Date from Event. Good Result. (I get 41 records, 1 for each site, and the site with 2 events shows only the later event)
Query 2: Pull in Query 1, multiple fields from either the Sites Table or the Event Table. Good Result (41 records)
Query 3: Pull in Query 1 and both Tables. Everytime I get 1641 records. I've tried every possible join combination, changing query 1 from Dynaset to Snapshot, etc.
In a help screen I noticed that the sample shows a join with an infinity sign at one end, but I never get that graphic with my joins. Is that an old graphic, or am I missing something?

My Microsoft Access have:-
Contract start date
Contract end date
Status of combo box - Active, Expired
I would like the combo box can automate base on contract end date. Question here. The combo box only auto change to "Expired" once month end reached.
Example:
Contract start date 01 Jul 06, Contract end date 25 Jul 06. From here, I do not want the combo box base on system date to change it to "Expired". Only when the month end reached, system will auto change it. For your information, not only 1 record, I have 100++ of records & start from different contract date.

I have a date field in one of my queries (01DEC2004). I have a pivot table linked to the query. I would like the users of the pivot table to be able to group the data by month. Currently the group feature will not work. Does anyone have a suggestion on the best way to extract the month from the date field?
Could I create a new column in the query called month and use an expression to extract the month?
If so can someone tell me how to key the expression to do this?

I have a table which has a column 'Date', which contains dates in the format dd/mm/yy. I wish to produce a quiery which will produce an extra column entitled 'month', which will match each date to the month of that date. I know there is a formula which does this (called 'month' i think), but i dont know how to use it to achieve what I want.
