i need to create a system that can search data using keyword.so i want to create search button that i will create it at form. currently i have 1 table and in that table i have 10 fields which are project_name, doc_ref_no, doc_title, volume, book_no, author, doc_status, box_barcode, filling_location, doc_availability.

i have create 2 forms, one form for user to add new record and another one is to search record. the user can search by enter project name, doc title, volume and box barcode. for project name and volume, i use combo box and for doc title and box barcode i'm using text box.

i want to create search function that can detect from user keyword and even user did not fill in all the form, the system still can search the record.

I haven't used access before and have been set the task to create a data of photos. The table is called 'Find a Photo' and contains 6 catergories of various information including river, site and date. I would like to create a search/command button by which i can type the river, site and date into seperate text boxes and search all of them at the same time.I don't know how to connect a command button to command button and not sure if any macros/queries are needed. Clear Rowsource Before Reset

I have a reset button that restores my combo boxes and list boxes to their default values.
I want the 'on click' event on the reset button to first clear all the existing values
before it resets them to their defaults. Does anybody know how can I do this?

The reason i need to know is because, if the user presses reset again, I get an error message because
those values are already inserted in their respective boxes. And since I'm using queries from tables as
the rowsources for these combo and listboxes, I get an error because it will not allow duplicate values.
Yes, it's true that I don't want duplicate values so i just want the values cleared first. , so that the
error doesn't have the chance to occur.

General :: Create A Button On Form To Convert Data To Text File Template

I'm currently working on a project within access which will allow users to select/input information in a form which will then save to the database.

What I need is to create a button on the form which will allow you to convert the data collected from the form to a custom text file template.

(Or maybe the last row added to the database. - although this may cause errors. Example: the form information doesn't save which will in turn create a text file with the data collected from the previous job)

The custom text file template should have a sentence description followed by the value recorded from the form.

Example:

1 configuration type: (data from form)

2 model type: (data from form)

3 Poc: (data from form)

And so on.

So in summary - I would be to use the form to collect the desired information which will save to the database.

Once actioned, a custom text file should be populated with the collected information (with specific data placement as per the example above)....

How To Clear A Search Form

I have a search form where I enter a value and click on a command button. All records that correspond to that value are displayed (continuous form). Works fine.

However, when I exit the form and then go back in, the data from the previous search still populates the screen. The search value/field is blank, but all the previous records are still displayed. How can I clear those values everytime I enter the form (or exit the form) ?

Forms :: Continuous Form - Reset Button

I am creating a program to allows us to figure out where our personnel are. I am using a continuous Form that shows the individuals name, phone numbers etc. and infront of that is a checkbox, and a combobox that shows "Leave", "TDY", "Contacted" etc. I also have two fields that fill up with what time they were contacted or when they reported in. The default status is "Not Attempted and the checkbox is not checked, and the time fields are blank.

I attempted to use this code:

Clear Button On A Form

I'm trying to create a search form with drop down boxes to select criteria.

I would like a "Clear Form" button that removes any data on the form to start a new search with. I have the following command in an "on click" event. But when I use this, it does clear the form. But from then on out, I get no results from my form. Even submitting the form with every entry blank, I get no results, when I know I have data in the form. I verified with my tables that the data in them didn't get deleted by using the code to clear the form.

I have a search form that's slightly modified search form modeled after the one available here on this site. It's a main form with a list box. I use the listbox to narrow down the results I want from the search function.

The search details are shown in a sub form that contains sub-sub forms

As seen in the code below, I am using the listbox to set a filter on the subform . Works famously until I search for something that does not exist in the database. I then receive runtime error 3075.

I believe it's related to the way I'm showing the details in the subform (by enabling a filter). If there is no record in the database that match the search criteria, I don't want any error messages or pop-ups and preferably would like the listbox to be blank.

I am looking for a way to enable a user to fill in a number of fields on a form press a button(CreateButton) and duplicate the records how ever many times is stated in a text box(TxtQty). I also need this to increase the serial number by the amount of times stated in the text box.

There will need to be another text box (TxtNextSerialNumber) stating the next first available serial number

For Example:
TxtNextSerialNumber = AD-Oracle-00010
TxtQty = 5
Press CreateButton to create 5 records
TxtNextSerialNumber = AD-Oracle-00014

5 new records created with the below fields duplicated and the above happening.

I will then need a message box informing the user of the serial numbers created:

'You have created serial numbers AD-Oracle-00010 to AD-Oracle-00014'

Table Name: ADOracle
Form Name: ADOracleTestData

Fields Names:
CustomerName: Duplicate
PartNumber: Duplicate
OrderNumber: Duplicate

2) Surname

Clear Search Results

I created a search form (using code from here) that searches serveral fields and displays the results in a listbox. I also created a clear button to clear the fields, including the listbox. I can search all day and it works fine, and the CLEAR button clears out the fields fine but once I have clicked the CLEAR button, I cannot search anymore. I don't get any results anymore (until I close and reopen). It must be something simple that I am overlooking so any hints would be appreciated.

Clear Button

i have a form that allows to add details to the table "tab_main".

ive got a clear button, it clears all textboxes apart from the textbox "date_issued". i get the following error message:

'Run-time error '2113':

The value you entered isn't valid for this field.'

Why am i getting this?

ive checked the table field and im inputting the right value!

Forms :: Button To Reset A Hourly Production Log?

I currently have a continuous form in my database that has 24 records in it. every record is blank except for a time (I will post a screenshot)

Our employees are instructed to enter various information every hour in this form. coding a button that, when clicked, will create 24 new records in the table that this form is based on, insert times in those 24 records, and then display those 24 records in the form. It would have the illusion that the end user it "resetting" the form at the end of his shift and preparing a clean form for the next person.

In the spreadsheet that we currently use, there is a button that, when pressed, saves the workbook with the date in its file name and then clears all of the end-user's data so that the next shift has a clean spreadsheet to use. I would like to mimic this button as closely as possible in MS Access

I understand that this database design is not exactly ideal in the world of database engineering; however, I was told to make this a perfectly seamless transition from the excel spreadsheet we currently use (there is a folder with 900+ workbooks from over the years. This obviously makes the information useless - we need all of the information in one file - this database)

Help- Create Search Form

hello, i know i have seen example from here, nome of them seems to help. My is just a simple search.
i have 4 tables: Artist Name, title, country and location

all i want is create a form that has a search. I want to type the artist name and it lists the country of the artist. How to i do this. I create the command button and text box but it just does not work.

I have a command button (cmbBarcodeEnter). After update i want the it clear itself of text and the be ready for the next barcode to be entered. At the moment the button updates and then tabs to next button and leaves the text in the cmbBarcodeEnter button.

One Button To Msg Box, Export To 2 Places, Email, And Reset Values :S

Hey all,

I've attached my access file...if anyone could help I would appreciate it very much!

If you click on the Export & Email tab on my form, there is a button which describes what i want to do in the caption.

Basically...

When the button is clicked i want a warning message box to appear saying do you want to continue Yes/No. No would just cancel it.

Yes would do the following:

Export an Excel file of "Magtable" and save to C:Magazine BackupMagazine Counter.xls and W:Magazine CounterMagazine Counter.xls

Then (i dont think the order of the following matters)

Email the excel file to two people.....if its easy to do this with no data input needed by the user (ie: not having to type the subject, who its too, body or press send.....if this is too complex then that is fine..having as much in as possible would be good though)

Then I want the values in Magtable, Amount to be reset to 0 - this may have to be done before the email is sent?

BTW the company i work at uses Lotus Notes only as an email program....As long as it pops up a new email in lotus notes with the excel file as an attachment then that would probablly be enough.


Hope this makes sense :S Any help would be VERY appreciated!
