i was wondering if anyone might be able to help me out here. I've been spending hours but to no avail. It seems to be a very trivial problem but i'm just out of luck.
I've been getting this pop-up message everytime i try to open up an access application such as .mdb files.
Open file - Security Warning
Do you want to open this file
...
two buttons: Open & Cancel
My question is if there is a way to turn it off or disable this warning from popping up when opening an access application.
I wonder if anyone here might be able to help me out here. I've been pondering this issue for so long and i was almost giving up.
I've been getting this warning everytime i open up an Access file (.MDB) especially, when trying to open up a file that's sitting on another computers. i have a few computers and they are set up in a peer to peer environment.
I took a printscreen of the warning message and attached it to this post. Please take a look at it. It's called "access.jpg"
Is there any way of turning it off? is it to do with the peer to peer networking?
I'm new to access , and i need one of the common security in access , for example i create a new project and all the data has been secure but when open the database in start up that Security warning is appear.
However , now i want to disable that message box using vba or modules ...
I have a button on a form, when it is clicked it opens a video file located in a folder on the local computer. Each time the button is clicked a security pop up appears that says "Opening file://C:lahblahyadayadaFile.mp4 Some files can contain viruses or otherwise be harmful to your computer. It is important to be certain that this file is from a trustworthy source. Would you like to open this file?" options are open or cancel. How can these messages be turned off?
I have already played around in the trust center of Access 2010 and changed the "trusted documents", "trusted locations", and "message Bar" tabs with no results. Do I have to play with regedit in windows to get rid of these pop ups? Or can I somehow use VBA code to disable them? They are just a nescience.
I was wondering if anybody knew a way to disable the security warning in Access that pops up saying "This file may not be safe if it contains code that was intended to harm your computer. Do you want to open this file or cancel the operation?"
If possible, I'd like to disable the message for just my database, but we currently don't use any other database anyway, so I'm not too concerned with turning it off completely if that's all I can do. I'm sure there has to be an option somewhere to not check for macros or something, but I can't find it.
If anyone knows how to do this or if you know that it is not possible, please let me know.
I designed a combox and also set the property of 'limited to list' to yes. I also declared the function NotInList with my own message box. But, the MS-Access default warning message box still comes up after displaying my one.
If I turned the property of 'limited to list' to no, it can trigger the function at all.
Does anyone here have any idea on how to turn the system default warning message box off?
Every time I open a database, no matter than I've opened it before, it asks opening blalala.mbd maybe harmful to your computer. Is there some way to stop that message? I went searching around in tools customize and nothing.
I have read through the various posting regarding ACCESS 2003 security warnings. As like everyone else, I receive a security warning stating, “This file may not be safe if it contains code that was intended to harm your computer.” I have already installed Microsoft Jet 4.0 Service Pack 8 and I have already enabled sandbox mode. This warning still appears when I try to open databases sent to me by other people. It also appears when I try to create a new database from my own computer. I understand why this message may appear when I open other peoples’ databases, but why would this error message appear on my own computer after I create a database from the very same computer? I would like to market my databases to specific clients, but I need to eliminate the security warnings that would appear each time they opened my databases from their computers. I don’t want to suggest that people change their security levels to low in order to open my database. For this reason, I am considering the option of digitally signing my databases with an authenticated signature. As something like this would run anywhere up to about $400.00, I want to make sure that it would be the best, and correct, option for me. My ultimate question: If I am already trying to create databases from my own computer and receive this warning message, would a digital certificate work in eliminating the error message for my future clients? Also, I understand that I may use the signatures for up to a year. Would I be able to use this for multiple databases that I create as long as it’s within that one year, or would I only be able to sign one specific database and use that same database for the entire year? This is a bit of a pricey endeavor for me, so if there are any other options, I’d love to hear those, too. Thank for the help in advance!
We have shared MDE, when second user opens gets message: [B]You do not have exclusive access to the database at this time. If you proceed to make changes, you may not be able to save them later. The message seems to repeat for each compiled object (Form, Report and Module). Helptext states occurs when in design mode - but not in design mode! Any ideas as to how we can suppress the warning?
I am very close to completing a DB Program.... How can I create a desktop Icon that will Launch my Program without Loading Microsoft Access along with it???
I apologise if this has been answered, I couldn't find anywhere else on the forum.
On the data access page it gives an annoying warning that says 'This website is using your identity to access a data source. If you trust this website, click OK to continue, otherwise click cancel'.
Is there a way I can suppress this message? It looked cool at the start, but now it's just annoying....
When I open my DB (I use Access 2003), Access flashes a window 'Security warning : This file may not be safe if it contains code that was intended to harm your computer. Do you want to open this file or cancel the operation?' How do I stop this annoying message so that my DB opens directly?
I have an Access 2010 db on a shared network drive. All users accessing the db are running Windows 7 OS and have a licensed corporate version of Access 2010. The advanced options "Shared", "Edited record" and "Open dabases by using record-level locking" are turned on. Additionally, the locking time limits are set to their default levels. If a user selects the save icon after making additions or updates, the following waring message appears:
Costar Job Database can't save design changes or save to a new database object because another user has the file open. To save you design changes or to save to a new object, you must have exclusive access to the file.Since I developed the db, I am the only one that makes design or object changes. I know that users don't need to select the save icon to update the db, but I don't want them to "freak out" if they select save and see the message. Is there any way to prevent the message from being displayed?
I have a 2007 db, been working no it in 2007 and occasionally in 2010, careful not to use any 2010 items. Well I goofed and added a Navigation Form (2010 only) and then deleted it. Now My 2007 db opens in 2007 fine, everything works, but the glowering Warning message and lovely yellow yield sign show up constantly. How do you resolve the incompatible items and clear this warning?
I searched the forums for this, but only ran across this (http://www.access-programmers.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=98554) reference to the access 97 method. Could you please let me know what the access 2003 method for disabling this close box is or provide me criteria to search the access help files?
Hi guys, I have a huge problem with a table I'm currently making and I was hoping you could help.
I have created a field in one of my tables using a Combobox lookup that only allows users to enter one of two options. What I want to do is restrict the other fields that a user can enter data into based on the their selection in the lookup field.
i.e if they select the first option then they can see and enter data into a few additional fields (but not others). Likewise if they select the second option they see/dont see other fields.
My application retrieves a recordset with some records. Each record is presented separately on a form and there is a "next" button to move on. For each record it allows pressing a button on the form for activating MS Word that in turn opens a relevant document.
The problem is that while the MS Word document is open, mouse wheel scrolling scrolls the recordset in the MS Access application, so to move to other records, up or down. It is strange since the MS Word application is the active window at that time.
I would like to disable the mouse wheel for the MS Access while keeping it active for the MS Word. So a solution of disabling the mouse wheel totally is not what I'm looking for.

Hi. Lets say i have a (Yes/No) combo box and a text box. I have it so if my combo box says Yes the text box must become enabled so i can type in it. The problem comes in when I goto a new record, the combo box is still enabled. I have tried putting the text box to disabled in form_load, but then when I go back to view other records the text box is disabled and the combo box is already set to Yes.
How do i overcome both these problems at the same time ??
I am wondering if there is a way to disable the "saveas" in excel from access with vba? I have the following code:
Private Sub cmdReport_Click() Dim path As String Dim XL As Object
[Code]....
Which I have used in another excel file. But I can't use that now. The file I am opening from access is a workbook generated from an excel template, and I have yet to find a way on how to transfer this Workbook_BeforeSave sub from the template to the new workbook.
disable the data picker for every field on every form in my application - without doing it the long winded way of manually turning it off for every field?
