I hope some one can help me hear as i am fairly new in this forum.
I have been using access from some time time and have come across a problem i and not shore how to solve.
I have query that contains a field which is a 6 digit number.
the number of record in query can change from day to day with anywhere between 1 to 100 records.
what i am looking to do is to create a hyperlink that access can follow that will contain a constant text stringof say
"www.mywebsite.com/order.aspx?sItems=[record1],[record2],so on untill all reocrds are filled.
Any help with this problem would be much appreciated
I want to hyperlink from a query direct to the relevant record in a specific form. I have a hyperlink field in the form which shows up in the query. When clicked in the query, this hyperlinks to the form but I cannot make it select the correct record in the form.How do I get it to select the correct record?
I am embedding a MS Access 2003 Database form into web page (iframe) by creating a "Data Access" form.
I have created it all and it works fine. But there is one last thing i need to sort out.
When the user clicks the Submit button (Really a Save Record Button), i would like the button to also forward the visitor to a basic "Thank You" html page, in the actual iframe. At the moment the record saves, but it doesn't give the visitor any acknowledgement that they submitted successfully.
What code do i need to add to the <Button> code on the Data Access form, in order to create a hyperlink. I am not too familiar with VB.
I created a table about films and i made a form so i can see each movie in a different record. I wanted to create a button which generates a link to the movie's internet website. But when i create a button i cant put a different hyperlink for each record of the form.
My idea is the button to have a logo of the site so that is why i cant just put a link in a text box. I also tried embedding a hyperlink to a picture but again i had the same problem.. there was only one hyperlink for all the records .
I have to save the hyperlink of the copied file into a record of my database.
Private Sub Knop29_Click() Pad = "C:" Dim Bestandslocatie As String Bestandslocatie = DLookup("[Waarde]", "tblInstellingen", "[Tag] = 'Locatie'") With Application.FileDialog(3) .Title = "Bestand selecteren"
[Code] .....
The column where the hyperlink of the copied file has to come is "data".
As you can read the code i tried to do it this way: Me.Data.Value = NewName, but then i only get this pad saved into my database:
i have thousands of data records with hyperlinks that are correct. Each data record shows the actual link (google.com, foxnews.com, espn.com, etc.). However, i want to change all of the records to just say "link" instead of saying espn.com, etc. How can i do this automatically without having to manually right click, edit, and changing the text to display?
Hi, I have a query that I build using VBA based on some user input. One of the fields I pull out is a hyperlink to particular files on our local network, so the user can click the link and open the relevant file. My problem is that if the SELECT statement contains one (or more) UNIONs the hyperlinks no longer work. The query returns all the fields but the hyperlink field is just text of the form "display_text#link_address#". I am using MS Access 2000. The UNION statements are required so I can search for multiple keywords in various fields within the table.
An example of the SQL query I generate is: SELECT DocRef, DocTitle, DocAbstract, DocLink, DocAuthor, DocDate FROM TechDocs WHERE DocType IN ('TechRep', 'Misc') AND DocAbstract LIKE ('*drug*') UNION SELECT DocRef, DocTitle, DocAbstract, DocLink, DocAuthor, DocDate FROM TechDocs WHERE DocType IN ('TechRep', 'Misc') AND DocAbstract LIKE ('*release*');
If I do the query a different way (when I am searching for phrases, not keywords) the hyperlinks work fine. As you can imagine this is very frustrating! I have read that Access 2000 has some problems with UNIONs where it has to order the individual SELECT results before the union or something, but I can't work it out. :confused:
I have a table called [Attachments Table], which has the fields:
AttachNbr as autonumber Task ID as number FileN as hyperlink URLText as long text
I want to copy the URL of the hyperlinks stored in the FileN fields to the URLText fields. However, when I run an update query I am getting the full hyperlink code and not just the address.
Example: FileN will appear as a hyperlink like JR1020.pdf, which is obviously formatted as JR1020.pdf#URL#..How can I copy just the plain URL (the stuff between the hash marks) without the hyperlink text names?
Code: UPDATE [Attachments Table] SET [Attachments Table].URLText = [Attachments Table].[FileN];
I was trying to see if there is a way to convert text to a hyperlink in a query.
Background : I'm pulling information from a lotus notes database using an OBDC connection and storing it into an access database and using that to upload to a sharepoint site. While we are converting over to a sharepoint site, I was trying to make it easy to get back to the original site for each document to check the work.
I have a query that combines few different tables in order to create a View (Query) that is then used to by and Excel sheet to update a list. The Excel is dynamical updated when new data is inputted in the Access Tables.
But one of the fields in a query is combination of path name and report name (another filed in one of the tables) that crate a complete path to a file that contains some additional information.
Now since the Excel is updated dynamical and users of this Excel sheet are not very advanced. I waned to make it easy for them to just click on the location of the file and the file opens up. But I am not able to make the Query that contains the file destination hyperlinked.
Given a table field that is a hyperlink type. I need an Update Query to set all records of that table so that the Displayed Value part of the hyperlink field (not the Address part) is set to a particular value. Any ideas how? Thanks.
i have probleb with the comboboxes if i change cobobox value, then comes a error :to make changes to this field, first save the record the combobox code is
Private Sub CatecoryID_AfterUpdate() On Error GoTo Err_CatecoryID_AfterUpdate Dim strFilter As String strFilter = "Products.CatecoryID = " & Me!CatecoryID Me!ProductID = DLookup("ProductID", "Products", strFilter) Exit_CatecoryID_AfterUpdate: Exit Sub Err_CatecoryID_AfterUpdate: MsgBox Err.Description Resume Exit_CatecoryID_AfterUpdate
I have a Workorder form that I want to not allow edits, deletions, and additions when the Workorder is closed. Is there a way to program a button for this that could be password protected in case it needs to be reopened?
I want to make a calculated column that adds 1 for every new record that isn't marked as being 'deleted' and will possibly subtract one if a record is marked as deleted. I'm not sure where to start other than calculated column.
The first is ClientList, which contains typical contact and biographical information (name, address, citizenship, etc), and unique ClientID# for each client. The primary key for this table is the default Autonumber ID that comes with each new table.
The second table is WillInfo, which contains information specific to drafting the client's Will (e.g., spouse name, spouse address, spouse citizenship, similar data on beneficiaries, similar data on executors, etc). The primary key for this table is ClientID#.
I then created a One-to-One relationship between ClientList and WillInfo, binding by Client ID. All this appears to work.
My question arises because I have two clients who are married to each other, which means much of the spouse info I require for the WillInfo table in respect of these particular clients is already accurately recorded as client info in the Clientlist table. So for these specific clients (but not generally!), I want the spouse information in the WillInfo table (e.g., SpouseAddress, SpouseCitizenship for ClientID# 12.001) to EQUAL specific values provided in the ClientInfo table (i.e., ClientAddress, ClientCitizenship for ClientID# 12.002).
I read and understand this is the best approach, following the principle that data should not be entered twice, so as to increase efficiency and avoid mistakes and future problems.
My question is: How do I do this? In Excel, if the client info I wanted to replicate was in cells B4-B9, I would enter =B4, or =B5, or =B6 and so on in the cells for spouse info. What is the equivalent expression for replicating specific client info from a different table.
I am in the process of building a new database in SQL to replace my MS Access database. However, I will continue to use the Access forms, queries, and reports. The new tables will house much of the same data. In multiple tables I have hyperlinks that were created and added in the original Access tables. To import these hyperlinks into the new SQL tables I have converted them to 'Long Text' before exporting, thus changing them into strings.
For example:
Hyperlink - Email - Add Additional Mailbox to Outlook (2010) has been changed to:
Email - Add Additional Mailbox to Outlook (2010)#ServernameServerfolderDocumentationRea dy to GoOutlook TemplatesEmail - Add Additional Mailbox to Outlook (2010).oft#
The obvious issue that I am running into is that after the SQL database table has been linked to the Access database it still displays the entire string when I open the table. The form has a textbox and search button that is used as a search function. This runs a query that returns all "search results" for the desired information. Is there a way that the query can convert the string back into a hyperlink so that the query displays just Email - Add Additional Mailbox to Outlook (2010) as a hyperlink and not the entire string?
Hi. First of all, this is my first post, so tell me if I'm being stupid.
I have a simple form, 'BuildingID', which contains a list box and two buttons. The list box lists a field from the records in the table 'BuildingID'. The two buttons are 'Add Building' and 'Delete Building'. The 'Add Building' button works fine, but I cant figure out how to make the other one work.
I want to be able to single click one of the records in the list box, then hit the 'Delete Building' button to delete the entire record. So I'm guessing I have to somehow make the record that I click on in the list box current when I click on it, then have a standard delete record button.
i've been working on a sample database today that someone has written some vb code into, which enables the database to merge with some dialler software. basically it's just a hang up and dial button on a form for surveying people.
i've done ok extracting the code for the dial and hangup buttons, referencing the external file and getting my test database to interface with the dialler but it currently allows multiple users to edit the same record, which i need to stop it doing.
the guy that's done the coding says he's more of a vb programmer and not much use in access (he's definitely better than me!) but i should be able to insert some code that will skip to the next record if the record is being worked on with someone else.
i think the piece of code that i need is
Forms("Form1").RecordLocks = 2
the only problem is i don't know what else to type with it or where in the code to insert it.
I have been trying to figure out how to make a form refresh after deleting a record in a subform. The code in the combo box that populates the subform works fine. If you select the "Action" of "sign" from the unbound combo box above the subform, it places "Sign" in the the subform and then makes a checkbox on the main form [WillTake] = True.
But when I delete the record by right clicking on the entry, the focus is sent back to the main form so I can refresh the form and thus update the [WillTake] checkbox. I have tried just about everything. I can get the focus to a field on the form, but I cannot figure out how to refresh or requery the form.
The code to transfer focus is on the OnDelete of the subform.
I'm having trouble with a Form and getting a text box entry box (Date entry) default to the date entered on the last record, which is linked to a table.
The only way I can get it to work is to type the date into the Text Box's Default property, for example, #11/13/13".
How to get the correct syntax or code into the Default property of the Text Box to make this work? I only want the entry to change versus the previous record/entry if the User changes / enters a new date.
Code: SELECT Sum(Tab1.Inputs) AS SumOfInputs, Sum(Tab1.ValInp) AS SumOfValInp, Sum(Tab1.Outputs) AS SumOfOutputs, Sum(Tab1.ValOut) AS SumOfValOut, Products.Product, Products.VAT, Products.UM FROM Tab1 INNER JOIN Produse ON Tab1.ProductID = Products.ProductID GROUP BY Products.Product, Products.VAT, Product.UM, Tab1.ProductID;
Second query :
Code: SELECT Nz([SumOfInputs],0)-Nz([SumOfOutputs],0) AS Stoc, Nz([SumOfValInp],0)-Nz([SumOfValOut],0) AS ValStoc, IIf([Stoc]=0,0,([ValStoc]/[Stoc])) AS CMP, [Sum Products].Product, [Sum Products].SumOfInputs, [Sum Products].SumOfOutputs, [Sum Products].SumOfValInp, [Sum Products].SumOfValOut, [Sum Products].VAT, [Sum Products].UM FROM [Sum Products] GROUP BY [Sum Products].Product, [Sum Products].SumOfInputs, [Sum Products].SumOfOutputs, [Sum Products].SumOfValInp, [Sum Products].SumOfValOut, [Sum Products].VAT, [Sum Products].UM HAVING (((Nz([SumOfInputs],0)-Nz([SumOfOutputs],0))>0.09 Or (Nz([SumOfInputs],0)-Nz([SumOfOutputs],0))<-0.09));
I need to combine those two query sql code to make only one query.
