i have an access database which is queried by my ASP script. now....i want the table to only return records which are equal to "=" or higher">" than todays date.
I have done this before using queries in access, but have since forgotten and lostthe code.
I know it is very simple, but i just cant remember.
Id rather query the date in the database table than the code for other reasons.
I have a table that contains many column but one of the columns is the "Collected Date". the dates entered in this column in in this format: 2013.10.28 however I to upload this table in another software to analyse, I need the date to be in this format: 10/28/2013 I already tried changing the format in the design view but since the format is currently in text it does not allow me to change the format into date!
I have a database created in Access 2003 about six years ago. I’m the sole user of the Application, which I use to keep track of my personal assignments and to quickly access other resources. A search form was added and tweaked over time until it contained the features I desired. The search form uses a subform to display a list of records, with the ability to click a record‘s "Edit" field to open and update that record.
In about March 2014 we upgraded from Office 2003 using Windows XP to Office 2010 using Windows 7. All users on other Applications that I’d designed and support experienced missing Reference issues, but those were resolved rather quickly. I'd been off work intermittently for about six weeks between April and July and gradually started noticing other issues with my personal assignments tracker that I did not immediately associate with the upgrade. Early on, I noticed that I could no longer delete or rename database objects on several of the databases that I'd designed and support. Eventually, I also noticed that I was unable to create new records and received SaveRecord error messages associated with the subform. I'd encountered SaveRecord issues before and went through previous steps to resolve, but to no avail. Eventually, I came to the conclusion, right or wrong, that all of my recent issues were associated with the upgrade.
I found through online research that my loss of ability to delete or rename Objects was possibly due to the loss of Object Owership and Permissions, which was associated with my Security Workgroup. I confirmed that Ownerships and Permissions had been lost and was unwilling to recreate the database, just yet. No user of other Applications that I support reported any problem creating new records.
I know now that new Access doesn’t have the Security menu item that allows Workgroup creation and joining. After months of online research and trial and error, I was directed to Microsoft Knowledgebase Article 918583, which provided VBA code that allowed me to Run the Workgroup Administrator to rejoin my previously established Workgroup.
After rejoining my Workgroup, everything seemed to return to normal. I could delete and rename records and was able to create new records. After a few days, I noticed that new records were not being displayed in the search form right away. I confirmed that the records were being added to the main table, but still not available in the search form, queries, or reports until after an additional record had been added. In other words, for example, in order to view record 1, a record 2 would have to be added. In order to view record 2, a record 3 would have to be added, and so on. This makes it very tedious to enter new assignments.
I believe the present issue is greater than my search form, because the newest record is not only not available in the search form, but not available in any other form, query, or report. I have no clue where to start.
I have 4 tables and around 440 records but can only view up to 417 in the form I have designed. I have been adding new records via form and it has been added to my main table, but when i try to view it in form view - the record is not available to view. What do I need to do to correct this problem?
I have checked that there are no filters, data entry is set to No, Auto deletions, additions and edits are set to yes.
Also to mention it seems that the problem has arisen since I set up some new queries, there is a one to one relationship between the tables!
Hi, I am in the process of creating a new database - I am a bit new to this. I have a main form, which also contains two subforms. The record source of the main part of the form is 11 tables, and then each of the subforms is based on one table each (so there are 13 tables altogether).
Everything seems to be linked up ok, and when I add new information to the form (and the subforms), the information gets saved to the tables as it should be. However, I want to be able to view past records in the form view, so that users can regularly update past records using form view. I can't do this. Each time I open the form view, the thing at the botton left says 'record one of one.' THen if I put the curser in (for eg) the box called 'client name' and click on the search button, I get a message saying:
"you can't find or replace now, the fields are not searchable due to: - the fields are controls; - the fields have no data; - there are no fields to search."
well I don't really know what that means. There is definately data in there somewhere, because I can view it in the table view, but I'd like to be able to view and update old records, and search, in the form view.
I have a table called NewTransactions_tbl that I have been using for some time. I am trying to add a new field called CustomerProjectNumber. It's not being displayed when I look at the table view. I've attached an image showing the settings for the field. I am probably missing something obvious.
When I add a record to table A (using a form) the first field I enter is a date. That date will then determine which records I see in my drop down list from table B (via a query).
Some records in table B have EffectiveFrom and EffectiveTo dates recorded - because they are now obsolete, other records have no dates recorded in these fields because they active.
How can I view and then select from the drop down only those records in table B which are effective/valid to the date entered in table A?
I am trying to create a database for farm auditing. The idea is you gather information monthly from the same farms and enter this into the database. So as time pogresses for example, farm 1 will have 6 entries for each field in each table, in 6 months time. But i need to be able to see each entry that was put in each month. I do not want it to just show the most recently modified information, and I want it to show the date f these.
Suppose I have a table with a variety of fields; one autonumber, some text fields and some date fields.
I need code to calculate the number of fields that are NOT date fields and then code to count how many of those fields (the ones that are not date fields) have data in them.
Following is the code to count how many fields in a table had data and this works well, but now I need to find a way to ignore the date fields. How can this code be modified to do the same but ignore the date fields?
Code: Public Function PercentCompleted(Table As String, IDProject As Long, TotalFields As Single) As Double
Dim sampO As DAO.Recordset, iCtr As Long, strSQL As String, Percent As Double 'Takes the fields based on the projectID strSQL = "SELECT *" & _ "FROM " & Table & " WHERE IDProject = " & IDProject Set sampO = CurrentDb.OpenRecordset(strSQL)
I have a table which includes a start date field and completion date field for housebuilding.
I am trying to extract all records that have either a started date or a completed date between 2 dates supplied by the user. I have tried to use Between on both fields but that doesn't return results between the fields.
It workd if I just do it on EITHER the start date field OR the completion date field so that implies to me that I need to break it into 2 queries, one returning start date recrods and the other returning completion date records but then I would need to have somthing that removes records that appear in both the start date and the completion date results.
I have a table that has entries recorded with date and time in one field, and I want to have a query that returns all records of a specified date or date range, regardless of the time in the field.
I have tried
Code: Between [StartDate:] And [EndDate:]
And
Code: Between [StartDate:] & "00:00" And [EndDate:] & "23:59"
I have inherited some Foxpro tables which I am trying to convert to Access and I hae set the exported tables up and have tried to set the relationships between the tables so that I can run queries and setup forms to review and add new records. However I am struggling to get the relationships in place that will allow me to do this. When I try to drag the common fields from one table to another to setup the link I get a screen which shows Relationship Type as 'indterminate' rather than 'one-to-many'. Whatever I do I can't change the type of link and when I view a query based on the two linked tables the * in the record navigator is greyed out so I can't add new records. I have a sample of the tables, links, queries and forms I have setup to date (with a limited number of records), if someone could have a look at it and advise where I am going wrong that would be great. The data and the structure of the tables is pretty much fixed as this is what is coming through from Foxpro and there is a lot of historical data to bring across. Many thanks
Hi guys. I am trying to help a client regards an un-supported access database. They have a DB that is shared across a network (only have experiance on database on single client, never set up security etc....). The DB is installed on the Server. The DB is access via a mapped network drive. The Database folder contains the following files: MKC Clients_Quesries.mdb MKC Clients.mde MKC Clients_.des
On one machine the MKC Clients.mde is launched and 1086 records are visible. On a second machine the same MKC Clients.mde is opened but displays only 977 records?? An I missing the obvious?
The solution might be in front of my nose but I cannot see it... I have a query with all my records I need to extract only records of the current year, so that now will show all 2006, as we enter into the following year it will show all the 2007. What is the criteria I should put into the "Date" field I have? Thanks
Hi, this problem is probably very simple to solve but I can't seem to find an answer to it.I have created a search form that returns all records meeting the criteria back into the search form. What I want to be able to do is to display the records in a datasheet view. This is what I currently have and it works ok but how do I convert?Private Sub cmdSearch_Click() Dim LSQL As String Dim LSearchString As String Dim LTownString As String Dim LActive As Integer Set LSQL = Me.RecordsetClone If (Len(txtSearchString) = 0 Or IsNull(txtSearchString) = True) And (Len(txtsearchTown) = 0 Or IsNull(txtsearchTown) = True) Then 'MsgBox "You must enter a search string." Else LSearchString = txtSearchString LTownString = txtsearchTown Select Case Me.Frame99.Value Case Is = 1 stActive = " AND Active = -1" Case Is = 2 stActive = " AND Active = 0" Case Is = 3 stActive = "" End Select 'Filter results based on search string LSQL = "select * from tblContacts" 'LSQL = LSQL & " where LastName LIKE '*" & LSearchString & "*' AND Town LIKE '*" & LTownString & "*'" & stActive If Form_frmMain2.RecordsetClone.RecordCount = 0 Then MsgBox "No records found" Else Form_frmMain2.RecordSource = LSQL End If 'Clear search string txtSearchString = "" txtsearchTown = "" End IfEnd Sub
I have 2 tables that have the same structure and same column names - Table A and TAble B. If field1, field2, field3, field4, and field5 match - I want to see that duplicates exist.
How do I do it with 2 tables? I know the query wizard check for duplicates can do it in one table - but I need to compare the two.
So I have to text boxes, one for month and one for year. Below is the control source for each box. When I go into Report View, I get January 1905....This is definitely NOT January 1905....I've checked the date on my clock, it says today's date...
I have a form in datasheet view, with a date column. When I filter for last week it gives me all the entries for that week, but when I try and filter on a single day it only gives me 1 entry even though I know there are several entries for that day. Why would it be doing this? It also is the same when I go directly to the table and try to filter. I know the underlying data that was imported is a full date and time stamp, which I'm displaying as just the date portion, but surely it should show me all that are on a particular date, not just 1?
Just checked to see whether it would give me "yesterday", and while it seem to be able to when I checked 2 days ago, now it's not even giving me those.
I have a report having data from query i have taken only 4 fields from query in detail section of report in design view.
What i want is that the report to print for single record single page means currently it is printing one more record on one page which i don't want and i want the report to show or print like all four fields for one record on one page how to do this...
I have a form in datasheet view that has a user directory with a list of each person. On each row you can click to open another form that contains the users details using the below VBA:
But once you open to that specific record, no other records are available to navigate to.
I want to be able to stay on that detail form that was opened and go to another record.
How do I continue to pull up that specific user in my detail form, but also load the others so I can navigate to them from the detail form without having to go back out to the datasheet form?
I have attached a student database that I created using the student database template in Access and have added additional tables, queries, etc. to fit our needs. One of the issues I'm having is users who are not very computer literate don't always remember if they have entered the right dates for attendance.
I had the idea of creating a "sample" student for each corresponding cycle with 100% attendance so they can compare what they have entered to what they "should" have entered. The reports are based on a query, so I know I can have the sample student show up with the correct information there. However, in the STUDENT DETAILS FORM, there is a pre-made code for the student's names to appear in the drop down and when you forward to the next record.
Can I have that altered to only show the ACTIVE students? This way the termed students would also not be a part of this drop down. I should still be able to go into the table itself and put in the sample student information when I create a new cycle, correct?
Here's a query that the bottom listview in the attached form i.e. a listview representing a table of calls(many) to fims (1 top listview)
Code: SELECT calls.id, calls.firm_id, calls.called, calls.said, calls.spoke_to, calls.next FROM calls WHERE (((calls.firm_id)=[firms].[id])) ORDER BY calls.called DESC , calls.next DESC;
When I run the thing...I get a dialog asking me for firm id.
I want to change this so when I move up and down the firms LV (top)... the bottom LV updates taking firm id from the top LV with focus.
