i have database with products and i want to add a picture for each one
In the table of products i have a field "Image path"
D:dun.jpeg
how can i insert this text-path from the form and not manually from table?
for example :with a button ADD IMAGE from the form and browse file.......
I have a form that I would like to update a picture on using VBA. The source of the picture path is in part a query that is not bound to the form. So far I have the following code that is pretty much working, but with a couple flaws.
Code: Private Sub Form_Current() LoadDefaultPicture End Sub Sub LoadDefaultPicture() Dim db As DAO.Database
[Code] ....
This is working. However, when I change the record the picture flashes the current picture once and then loads the new picture. It is like it reloads the current picture then loads the new one. I'm hoping there is a way to get rid of the flash.
Also, the code fails here: strDefaultPictureName = rs.Fields("AttachmentName")
When the query does not return a record. I can definitely fix this by adding an if statement to check for a record, but I'm kind of perplexed at why it is failing at that line. I would expect it to assign an empty string to that variable name and then fail on the next command where I try and set the ".Picture" property of the image.
Code: Option Compare Database Private Sub CreateCrosstab_Click() Dim dbs As dao.Database, rst As Recordset, rstInsert As dao.Recordset Set dbs = CurrentDb Call DeleteTable("FinalTable")
I am trying to link an images (.png) onto a form. I have a folder of all the images I want but I want the path to be relative. So that if I move the access file and the images folder to a new location, it will still work.
In the properties for the image, It works fine as C:UsersjohnDesktopimage1.png but what I am looking for is the ability to use "imagesimage1.png" as the file will always be in that relative folder to the db.
What is the correct syntax for this? putting image1.png in the same directory and just using image1.png works, but this won't be very tidy with 100+ images.
I know from searching it is possible through VBA by getting the root directory of the folder and appending the filename. Don't really want to go this root. I also don't particularly want to create a table to store the images or links.
Hello. I've searched and read a few threads concerning image controls on forms and haven't been able to find a solution to my problem (yet). Anyway, I have a form with two image controls (imgOK1 & imgOK2). The previous and current setting of the "Picture" property for both images is set to "C:MOMGraphicsfilename.bmp". The location of my images has changed and will change for each user which is "C:Documents and Settingsuser.nameMOMGraphicsfilename.bmp". I'm using the following code to set the .Picture property on form load:
Dim ImgPath ImgPath = "C:Documents and Settings" & Environ("username") & "My DocumentsMOMGraphics" Me.imgOK1.Picture = ImgPath & "imgButton-OK1_25%.bmp" Me.imgOK2.Picture = ImgPath & "imgButton-OK2_25%.bmp"
When the form is opened, an error stating that the image located at "C:MOMGraphicsfilename.bmp" cannot be found; once for each image control. Then the form loads and .Picture properties appear to be set correctly as they are displayed fine. I've tried to clear the .Picture properties for both image controls using the properties editor but the original path returns as soon as the property loses focus. Is there a way to programatically set this property and make it stick so the errors are not displayed?
I'm using GHudson's A Better Mouse Trap code. It works great. However, I added other code from http://www.databasedev.co.uk/image-form.html to get and save the path to image files and now I think there is a conflict between the sets of code.
The Images tab on the form frm_CreateNewSpec is where I have problems. The error messages are definitely from Mouse Trap...I just don't know how to resolve the problem.
I've probably missed something simple, but don't know what.
Any and all assistance is greatly appreciated by this novice.
I have a piece of code that I'm using to display an image on a report based on a path saved to each record. the code is:
Code: Option Compare Database Private Sub Detail_Format(Cancel As Integer, FormatCount As Integer) If IsNull(Me.ImagePath) Then Me.ImgPic.Picture = "O:BellinghamIntranetProductionLabelsNo Label.bmp" Else Me.ImgPic.Picture = Me.ImagePath End If End Sub
It seems like every few months the code crashes access and then never works again. When I debug, the part that is highlighted is:
Code: Me.ImgPic.Picture = Me.ImagePath
The only way i've found to correct it is to delete the report and the module and copy them back in from a backup database. What could be causing this code to crash or how to stabalize my database to prevent this from happening again.
Ii have a database running on Access 10.0, I am using the insert hyperlink dialog box (access by Ctrl K) to allow users to insert a hyperlink to a file (could be any sort of file), into a text box.
The problem I have is most of the files are held many directories above where the database is (we have a BAD directory policy, 10's of folders within folders) and it gets a little painful to get the user to go up so many levels, due to the hyperlink dialog opening in the "current folder" view, ie where the db is located.
Simple quest, or so I thought. Can I change the default directory "Current Folder" that the dialog box starts in ?
I have already tried chdir"c:" but to no avail.......not that obvious then...
Hello, Although, I have seen many threads in regards to displaying images in forms, I have not been able to find exactly what I'm looking for.
The solution I am looking for is to give the user the ability to browse for an image, select it and insert it into the form. From reading these forums and playing around with Access, one thign I am sure about is that I want to link the image (I couldn't believe how bloated access gets when embedding an image).
I thought of a great solution for linking images, but I have no idea how to achieve this. (This solution, in my opinion would be great not just for images, but for all kind of objects).
Since I am linking the image, I would like to be able to store the image in a "private database" folder, that way the image will not be tempered with. It is my understanding that if I wanted to do that, I would have to first place the images in that folder and then actualy insert them into the form. This seems kind of pointless to me, since it will create extra work for the user.
So basically what I would like to do in pseudo code is:
On Click, browse for image on image select, save image to \database image folder link image to \data image folder display image in form
I think this would work really well for all kinds of document management (not just images) allowing the users to attach pdfs/images/documents to records with out worrying where they are stored, and knowing they will not be tempered with (I'm planning to place the folder somewhere on the server)]
Any ways, any help woudl be greatly appreciated, and if I do manage to come up with a solution on my own, I will be sure to post it here.
I have a access table with a OLE Object field that is storing a small signature .bmp image. I have a form that loads that image into a bound object frame. I made a command button that lets you choose a new .bmp image and it then loads the new image into the bound object frame. I am them doing update query on a save button that then save the new image into the table. The form works great. You can pick any .bmp and it shows up good in the bound object frame. When I click the save button and it runs the update query it run it 8 of 10 times fine. Problem is when it does run it the images gets inserted into the table and its destorted. Like its all static or have of the image turns black. Sometime when I run the same update query with out any code changes I get a access error that shuts down access or it inserts the image into the table and when you click on the cell to view it, it says the OLE data is not valid.
So Im not sure if the method Im using is ok or if there is a better way. I do need to store these images in the table tho. Below is the code im using.
code that loads new image picked into bound object frame Code: Dim MyFolder As String Dim MyExt As String Dim MyPath As String Dim MyFile As String Dim strCriteria As String MyPath = vrtSelectedItem'vrtSelectedItem is the path to the image from the file picker Me.OLE_Sig.Enabled = True Me.OLE_Sig.Locked = False OLEPath = MyPath Me.OLE_Sig.OLETypeAllowed = acOLEEmbedded Me.OLE_Sig.SourceDoc = OLEPath Me.OLE_Sig.Action = acOLECreateEmbed Me.button_load_sig.SetFocus Me.OLE_Sig.Enabled = False Me.OLE_Sig.Locked = True
Then I run this for the save command Code:DoCmd.SetWarnings FalseDoCmd.OpenQuery "qry_user_edit_update"DoCmd.SetWarnings True
This is the query to save the image. Code:UPDATE tbl_Users SET tbl_Users.Signer_Sig = [forms]![frm_admin_users_edit]![OLE_Sig]WHERE (((tbl_Users.User_ID)=[forms]![frm_admin_users_edit]![field_userid_info]));
Any help would be great.... Been trying everything and no luck.
Hi all , Can anyone tell me about how to embedd image in image control using imagelist. I added the 5 images in imagelist at design time and added the following code. image.picture=imagelist.listimages(1).picture but iam getting error.error no :2110,cannot open the file . thank u, Siva
I'm in desperate need of help and want to know if it is possible to load an image on a form once a hyper link is created.
For example, I have a form with a hyper link to an image created, currently, when you click on the hyperlink, it opens the picture in the browser, can you change it so that it loads teh image embedded into the form instead of loading it into a browser?
I am at work, and I have acquired a database that prints labels. They now want the database to be coded so that after certain labels are printed the database will print a blank label. I have the code figured out as a Do While statement in order to print the blank label. The problem I am having is that I am trying to use the Insert Into command to insert the filepath into the table that adds the blank label.
|DoCmd.RunSQL "INSERT INTO Rod_tmakLabels ( Print, [Order] ) SELECT Yes AS Expr1, 'Rods Labels' AS Expr2"|
If I run the above command, it just adds the text "Rods Labels" at the end of the table. Is there anyway with the INSERT INTO command that I can insert the new label between the 2nd and 3rd row and add another row? Or is the command designed only to add a new row to the end? I haven't had any luck searching for this yet.
After some help from one of the threads here I managed to install a Browse button in a form that inserts a file path to a text box. What I need is the folder path from that file path in another text box. For example if the file path is C:Documents and SettingsmixupSketchesowl.jpg
I would like to get either C:Documents and SettingsmixupSketches Or, C:Documents and SettingsmixupSketches in my second text box.
I do not have much experience with Access; therefore please give a little detail on how to accomplish this.
I need to devise a query to append data for a particular Department_ID from TBL_NEWDATA to TBL_PERSON_ALLOCATIONS where that data does not already exist there. i.e. for Department_ID 'Research', I would want to append 'Person_ID', 'Department_ID' (in this case: 'Research') to TBL_PERSON_ALLOCATIONS for any tuples not already held.
INSERT INTO TBL_PERSON_ALLOCATIONS (Person_ID, Department_ID) SELECT Person_ID, Department_ID FROM TBL_NEWDATA WHERE TBL_NEWDATA.Department_ID='Form...'
[code]...
This Query takes a single argument from a control (Forms!Main!IN_Department), and this is the Department_ID to be updated. Is there any way to do this using a single query or will I have to use sub queries? I'd hoped not to as to keep the database as concise as possible.
I have a split dbase and have been running the backend on a server which was linked using a mapped network drive letter and path. Now I'm trying to connect it to a path like this. Is it possible?
I have a normalized DB with one to many relationships, using Primary and Foreign Keys.
I need to do inserts and maintain the PK/FK relationship, which means when I add a new PK I need to insert that PK as FK in other tables in the same transaction.
How do I do this in Access? SQL Server I use transactions, but I can't lock up the tables in Access like that.
I did a bunch of searching and found nothing, which leads me to believe I am way off in my thinking. Below are the dirty details
I have 2 tables, tblName and tblPhone. 1 name can have many phones.
tblName has PKName. tblPhone has PKPhone, FKName.
I have a form where user enters a new Name and PhoneNumber.
Name gets inserted to tblName, assigned with PKName = 100
Phone should get inserted into tblPhone with PKName.
IE Insert into tblPhone (FKName, PhoneNum) VALUES (100,"212-555-1212").
The dumb way I am doing it now is I insert to tblName, query tblname for the PK, then write to tblPhone. This can't be right.
I have a button that allows a user to select a file using the windows select file dialog using the following code:
Dim fd As FileDialog Set fd = Application.FileDialog(msoFileDialogFilePicker)
With fd .Title = "Select A Text file to Import" .Filters.Add "Text File", "*.txt" .FilterIndex = 1 .AllowMultiSelect = False .InitialFileName = CurrentProject.path result = .Show If (result <> 0) Then Me!txt_path = Trim(.SelectedItems.Item(1)) End If End With
Is there a way that I can capture the path of the file they select in a separate text box?
