Multiple Sql Statements In Access Sql Editor

I would like to update a lot of fields in my tables; about 120 different fields in 12 different tables. I would however like to keep it simple by using the SQL editor in MS Access by writing all the UPDATE queries and leave them to run while I do smething else. It seems to me however that you can only run one query at a time using the SQL editor. I thought I could separate one SQL editor from the other by using semicolon as in Oracle SQL editor etc., but that does not seem to work. Does anybody know how to do this in Access without writing a VBA code etc.?

How To Link Images With Photo Editor In Access 2003?

I am setting up a database with an image linked to each record. I have installed Photo Editor as required to display jpeg files. However, when I try to insert object in the table field, Photo Editor does not appear as an option under 'Object Type'. How can I use Photo Editor as my OLE server to display jpegs? Or, can someone suggest a better way to display images on forms? I'm a newbie, so although I'll try more advanced programming if required, I will need quite detailed step-by-step instructions :)

Multiple IIF Statements

I'm trying to compile a number of IIF statements.

I have 6 IIF statements, but would like to put them all in to one IIF statement.

Could anyone help me with this one?

Multiple If Statements, Best Way ?

I have a query which works fine for one if statement, but i neewd to have 10, whats the best way of sorting this, can it be done in one query, or should i use a module or should i use the code?

my if statements are as follows:

IIf([eventcode]="n204",[totaltime]-[totalcipstd],0)
IIf([eventcode]="n301",[totaltime]-[totalPaststd],0)
IIf([eventcode]="X117",[totaltime]-[totalMaintstd],0)
etc....

can someone please help me sort this...

a problem may be that the list of eventcodes may increase... again whats the best way to sort this.

I have a query that I just can't figure out. We are a facility that works on rail cars. We have over 200 cars in house at the moment and the database has a daily production report in it with the status of all of the cars.

I need a query that will pull out the "AAAA" and "XXXX" cars from the list only IF the cleaning field or the mechanical inspection or BOTH fields are blank.

Reports :: IIF Statements With AND (multiple Criteria)

I have a list of projects and I need to display their status (Red or Green) in a text box.

My fields are [PercentComplete],[StartDate],[EndDate],[ReportDate]

There are two ways a project could have a red status.

1. [PercentComplete] < 100 AND [ReportDate] < [EndDate]
OR
2. [PercentComplete]<100 AND IsNull([EndDate])

There is one way it could have a green status:
[PercentComplete] = 100 AND Not IsNull([StartDate])

This is the best I could come up with for the Iif statement, but I get "invalid argument" which I suspect relates to the AND portion.

Code:
Iif([PercentComplete] < 100 AND [ReportDate] < [EndDate], "Red",
[PercentComplete]<100 AND IsNull([EndDate]),"Red",
[PercentComplete] = 100 AND Not IsNull([StartDate]),"Green","")))

Queries :: Bank Holiday Date - Multiple IIF Statements

I've a nice formula which work the majority of the time, the only time this doesn't work is Bank Holidays. Is there a way to build on this:

>=Date()-IIf(Weekday(Date(),2)<2,4,2) And <=Date()-1

The above simply runs a report for the last working day, expect if today is a Monday then it runs Fri-Sun.

Im assuming if I know the dates of the Bank Holidays I could hardcode them into the beginning with multiple IIF statement followed by the one above??

Queries :: Multiple Nested IIF Statements - Output In One Field

I am trying to get the output of several nested IIF expressions to show in only one filed in the table created. The output needs to be captured in a table. I am staring with create table to get it to work before I go ahead and use the sql to update the original table (the table the data is from)

I can get each to run fine independently and the whole thing runs too, the issue is it wants to put each expression in a new column, thus it is forcing me to label the expression.

Can I change this to only output in one column or add some more sql to do so?

Here is the SQL (table and filed names have been changed to protect the innocent)

BTW, I cannot change the Table the data comes from, I am stuck with the single table structure (BOO).

VB Editor And Mouse Wheel

Hello to all,

Just something I hate and been frustrated about and would like to know whether it can be solved. I don't know about your PC but my mouse's wheel does not work in the Visual Basic Editor. This applies to all Office apps.

When I scroll the wheel, nothing moves. It works great in other apps, though, such as Explorers, ....

Is it something that was meant at designed or am I missing something here?

Autocomplete In Code Editor

I'm not sure what you call it but I call it auto-complete; the functionality that gives you a list of methods/commands when you are typing something like Me.Forms. When you type the Me. after the . it will bring up a list for you to see what you can do from there. That works fine for me but when I do the following: "CoCmd." the list will popup for a brief moment (much less than half of a second) which does not let me view the possible methods. Is this normal? If not does anybody have any idea how I might be able to fix it short of reinstalling MS Office (that is NOT an option).

MsgBox In VBA Editor Not Popping Up

I have a form with a combo box and a button, which when clicked, opens a report based on the option selected in the combo box. For this, in the event procedure of the button click, how do I code it so that if no option is selected in the combo box and the button is clicked, it should display a 'message' as a pop up. I know I should use the MsgBox option but I seem to be going wrong with the If loops. I doubt I am positioning the MsgBox command in the wrong place in the code below, as it does not pop up the msg box as I desire. Heres the code:

i need to append data that is currently in a single MS Access table into multiple MYSQL tables that have primary keys and auto_ids etc. Therefore I need to run the queries in order so that I can use the new auto_ids correctly, see below:

Excel workbooks would take names from the "Div" field and the tab names would come from the "Tab" field in the Access table. First need to find workbook name (Div - Field) then the look for each sheet name (Tab - Field) to create 1st Excel workbook with all the sheets (Tab) and repeat the process. I think you need to approach of read the Access table one record at a time keying on the "Div" and "Tab" fields in creating each Excel workbook with the associated multiple tabs (sheets) that are written to a common folder.

Note: These 6 workbooks with multiple tabs were originally imported into Access from one common folder on my desktop by this routine.

Import Excel Data From Multiple Sheets Into Multiple Tables In Access

I would like to know which way is the best way to import excel data from multiple sheets in to multiple tables in access.

For example data from Sheet1 -> Table1, Sheet2->Table2, Sheet3->Table3 etc...

I have tried using this:
Cmd.TransferSpreadsheet acImport, acSpreadsheetTypeExcel5, "Table1", "C:Importedfile.xlsx", True, "Sheet1!"

Ironically, data from Sheet2 and Sheet3 seem to be properly imported in to table2 and table3, but some of the data from Sheet1 seems to be missing in Table1 after import.

Any other ways to import the data?

Hi, I have another problem with my Access database now...

I am trying to disable fields when a certain value is chosen. I can do it for one field with this code:

If ALLOCATION_LP = "Other" Then
OTHER_ALLOCATION_LP.Enabled = True
Else
OTHER_ALLOCATION_LP.Enabled = False
End If

That one works perfectly well, but I have another one that needs to disable two fields instead. If they choose "No Extant PP", I want it to disable two fields; one combo box - PLNG_PERMISSION_STATUS_2 (which I can get to and it works) and also an "Other" text box - OTHER_PLNG_PERMISSION_STATUS_2 (this is where i get stuck). I have tried two If statements, but whether I'm writing them wrong, I'm not sure.

I would really appreciate the help. Thanks.

I want to check eight Yes/No fields. If none of the boxes are checked I want to display a msgbox. I can link seven of the fields (no problem), when I add the eighth it doesn't work.

Am I limited to seven fields in my statement? Is there a way around this?
